Hotel in the center, large and clean rooms and excellent hospitality
it was a very nice hotel, the staff were friendly, the room's were comfortable,
and a nice rooftop penthouse bar
Very nice rooms. Service was very good.clean and great location for walking.
We stayed in a room down from the rooftop terrace - the windows are not double glazed or soundproof and so we were kept awake until 3.30am !
When we did hand washing the bathroom flooded with dirty water from the drains below. Also dining staff grumpy
Just great, fine, but the entrance is a bit confusing
Our room was ultra modern, did not like a frosted glass wall between sleeping area and bathroom. Area rug on floor truly needed a good cleaning. Floor to ceiling Window faced an exterior wall of next door building. Staff was friendly, beds were comfortable, lighting not the best. We luckily did not face the street, others in group were serenaded by party goers one night. Had a good center of town location, easy walking to lake, the river, and historical part of town and good restaurants.
Central location in Lucerne, within walking distance of the train station. Very good rooms and gastronomy.
There is a lot of superlatives in the hotel sector, but "The leading first class hotel" is a huge exaggeration. After all, we are supposedly dealing with a four-star house here!
The glass facade seems like my room window has not been cleaned for some time, and so makes the self-proclaimed "new landmark" Lucerne is not a very impressive impression. In the lobby and in the hallways in order, who looks closely also finds the one or other leather chair with clear Gebrausspuren.
Maybe I'm just too stupid, but after neither entrance, nor reception from the outside are clearly marked, I walked around the hotel three times.
I had reserved a room of the cheapest category, which in addition to a comfortable bed had cobwebs in the window frame and mold in the cracks of the ceiling panels in the bathroom had to offer. There was not much else in it, two drawers for luggage, wardrobe in which the hangers do not even hang horizontally, empty fridge. No toilet brush, no controllable heating. When I asked for the latter, I was pushed by the building services a mobile radiator with dropped regulator in the room ...
The breakfast is ok, but there is nothing there, which you would not find in a three star hotel.
The blast on the weekend is the nightclub upstairs! The noise from there can be heard in almost every room until 3:30 am Saturday and Sunday morning. In the third of seven floors, the background noise is almost in the room. On the part of the staff one is surprised in this regard. From Room No.1 I was actually moved to part of the building 3, where it was with the noise (see, this room even had a coffee machine), from there after a night due to other occupancy in part of the building 2 - the noise in the same green.
For me a hotel for a maximum of one night during the week. The four stars are absolutely unjustified!
Be prepared to pay for hot water for coffee tea etc as none of these are provided for in the rooms as is normally expected. Breakfast is the standard for a hotel. Beds are low to the ground keeping with the theme of the hotel.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Location is great and easy to access other resturants and public transport.
On the downside, the breakfast is very basic with minimal veg options. Especially considering the hotel seems to own 4 of the best resturants in the city - that along with the room rates i was expecting better.
Lastly, we were impacted by construction work - loud drilling from early in the morning which left me unable to sleep in and also with a headache! Raised this with the staff but it seemed to still continue and not much was done about this. Consequently we checked out abit
earlier than planned.
We had a seminar here. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The terrace is fantastic.
Overall a very solid hotel. Room size fits, cleanliness fits, staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was not very appealing. I also found the room safe after cleaning open. As far as I can judge, it has not lost anything, but does not leave a good feeling.
Very nice place for seminars and functions. Absolutely fantastic view over the Alps from the 8th floor restaurant terrace. 7th floor seminar rooms are large and comfortable, in particular the nice, airy and windows endowed corner one, good for 50 participants. Great place, I recommend it!
Whilst the room were clean having very nice poshy bathrooms, the rooms which we stayed in was unfortunately not sound proofed. The nightclub music blaring from upstairs on both a Friday and Saturday night caused many nights of interrupted sleep as our room was vibrating from the bass that was being pumped out from upstairs.
You would of thought this hotel could invest in a bit more money into sound proofing the rooms. Unfortunately this Jean Nouvel design certainly looks great but is rather dysfunctional.
no kettle, no tea. breakfast is awful! only a few breads, few ham and cheese, no salad. while it is serve in Asian restaurant, and most hotel customers tourists asian, foods are nothing prepared for asian. no clue!
I hope jasmine realises the gravity of her comment on all Asians being Chinese. It is a serious offense and there is absolutely no excuse for such an unwarranted and unapologetic attitude if you're working at a hotel front desk. Powerfully rude, and ruined the entire experience of otherwise a very satisfying stay at a beautiful part of the world.
Other than that, rooms were very clean, lovely interior and overall a satisfying stay and do a good job as a hotel. Other staffs have been professional and helpful throughout. Noisy as Lucerne folks like to honk their cars loudly continuously at night although this might have been due to the world cup this afternoon. Restaurants downstairs are absolutely delightful and should visit regardless of stay.
Thrilling city. Very elegant hotel but honestly I don't know the prices. I was fortunately guest
Nice place. Service okay, but sometimes there is a person at the reception who has problems with English. But as a starting point for the city - ideal.
The hotel is modern with a beautiful rooftop bar! The competent and polite staff. The Astoria hotel's location is very convenient to everything. Near the railway station and the historic center of the city of Lucerne. Definitely a recommended place!
Using one of the conference rooms for a business event. Very comfortable and we'll equipped. Penthoise lounge is great for the coffee and lunch breaks!
Hotel well placed, room and service up to my expectations.
Good and bad, rooms are large and clean but there are no tea or coffee making facilities which is a first, I've travelled weekly for 6 years and never experienced this before. The food in the restaurants is excellent but again unbelievably there is no room service!
All occomodations were good except for the loud music from the (top)7th floor lounge from 10am til 2 am on Friday & Saturday nights. Don't stay on the upper floors.
An excellent cocktail, beautiful rooftop and attentive team. We recommend.
It was clean, neat and close to everything. Bathroom shower was a little tight, but we survived
The room and bathroom in Astoria was rather spacious and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was pretty good as there was a wide variety. However, the wi-fi was really slow and laggy.
Very professoinally operated hotel and restaurant complex. Penthouse is a must for all visitors. Best view in town.
Very nice rooms with esspressor machine available. The breakfast is very good. I stayed twice at this hotel and I would choose it again whenever I am in Luzern.
Our stay was marked by faux pas ... can happen, but left a bitter aftertaste. Breakfast very simple content but delicious
excellent hotel.. like the thai food which hotel area..
Spent the night friday-saturday: a party on the rooftop bar kept me (and plenty more guests) awake practically all night. And the other part i tried to sleep on the stone-hard mattress
Great service, friendly and helpful staff. Parking nearby. Nice modern rooms and cool bathroom. The breakfast is more plastic packaging than good choices. Sustainability should be taken into account.
Nice hotel in the center .. very nice staff .. the only problem is that you can not open the windows of the room ....
Beautiful building and views. Only complaint is the heated towel rod burning us, and no clue how or when it turned itself on and off.
Great hotel, small caffe, on the main street, but very nicely done.
Business hotel. Clean. 5 minutes walking to wood bridge.
A pub on the top of the hotel which is great, but it might be noisy when you stay for the weekend.
Just didn't like the people living there aggressive and very rude !
I've been staying at the Astoria weekly for half a year and I have to say that I am very satisfied with the service, the staff, the rooms - especially in the glass building. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and you can start relaxed in the day. Only to be recommended!

I live on the 6th floor, and the disco music on the 7th floor is noisy until three in the morning, how to fall asleep?
Who wants to live in this hotel, please think twice.
Well Mocw Hotel with a fan roof top bar. Amazing Experience. However need a more elaborated Menu
Does not deserve his 4 stars. Room was not good at all. Stark smelled strongly of cigarettes, although smoking is prohibited there. The lifts are very small and you have to zoom in properly. Voluntarily go there again? no thanks
Quiet, clean, with several restaurants in the hotel, within walking distance from the train station.
I often stay there for work. Great for getting around by public transport. 5 min walk from the station. Clean and spacious rooms. Excellent breakfast, both continental and international. For those staying from Thursday to Saturday, consulting rooms up to the fourth floor, as on the seventh floor there is a very popular club / disco with music. Helpful and kind staff. Covered parking, but I suggest reserving it, as there are not many parking lots available.
Central hotel, quiet rooms, underground parking available for 35Franken, helpful friendly staff, ticket for public transport included, free Wi-Fi available (also in the rooms), rich continental breakfast buffet
Nice rooftop Bar with excellent German service, good finger food and a good selection of drinks.
Very nice staff. great hotel in Lucerne town, with 3 restaurants inside. I'd go back
Good school, lots of rooms in the city center. Near shopping The room has a good coffee maker, the room has a good view room. Bathroom without doors Have a little gym to use
good prices
clean and spacious rooms
very nice staff
Very modern and clean. The shower is stand alone and Not in some cramped bathtub. Big plus for me..
Very good cervicio. Discount for groups of 4 that we received. Largest room Few views Dog has at 5m a very tasteful disco right winged. For the most very clean. And very cozy beds.
Very nice ang comfy accessible to shopping and tourist spot area
The hotel already had its own years of hospitality, rooms are cramped
Very good location, great staff. Bathtub had a clogged drain and the towels were very frayed. Not a big deal, but for being so nice and elegant everywhere else in the hotel, little things stand out. Breakfast was great.
People live comfortably, but the sink is a bit too shallow, the water is easy to spray, and it is very inconvenient to wash your face.
Fabulous bedroom, great bathroom. Good underground parking. For the quality of the hotel, the breakfast was a little under par. The coffee and orange were the weaknesses.
