Great restaurants and a rooftop penthouse close to everything

Great breakfast, nicely arranged, sparkly clean, spacious rooms. Amazing service and in the middle of the city, very close to railway station and Chapel Bridge.

More appearance than being. Correct service and clean rooms.

Excellent location, but room showed signs of wear and tear; no coffee/tea making facilities; breakfast was limited in variety, shower water temperature was inconsistent even during a short 5 min shower; basic amenities like shower caps/dental kits only on request; and housekeeping not done thoroughly (found hairs in sink).

We were looking forward to a nice hotel for our stay in Lucerne, well the Astoria wasn't that bad except that was spread out across two or three multistory buildings with limited signage. Just to get to your room was a mission of lifts, ramps and a bit of good luck!!
The room just didn't feel right, probably just too much over the top. the views from the room were non existent. The room and bathroom were very clean. The hotel is situated in the CBD and close to other restaurants and cafe's.

Stayed for two nights. I wouldn't stay here again and only did because I was part of a tour group. Stayed in room 1107 and it was not clean. Spider webs and spiders in the corners of the windows, dust on the ceiling by the air vent, a very bad moldy smell to the room, the moulding in the bathroom hasn't been cleaned, simple cosmetic fixes not made (toilet paper holder falling off of the wall), there is no place to hang your towels outside of the shower, the shower itself is so short that I kept bumping into the ceiling, and I could go on. Im just very disappointed in this hotel and perhaps we were given such a bad room because we were in a tour group.

I was very impressed with this hotel. Staff was friendly, safe environment, and there's a few restaurants/bars close by. If you don't want to leave the hotel, they have a penthouse floor with a nice bar. They have good breakfast as well!

Great hotel in a fantastic city. The hotel has a ton of services around it and the breakfast was great.

Nice rooftop bar.. drinks are pricey, but no different from anywhere else in Switzerland. Good ambience.

Nice hotel but breakfast was average. Charge extra for decent coffee even though we already paid for breakfast and toaster was totally inadequate for number of guests. Otherwise ok hotel.

Great staff, breakfast was very nice. Hotel restaurant is lovely and food was good. Roof top bar/night club is very popular friday night, no noise heard from the rooms i have stayed in. Underground parking is an experience but very usable. Great place, in the centre about 2min walk to the lake and the old town.

Very neat hotel with a nice bar called 'penthouse' on the 7th floor!

Stayed in this hotel during Winter. Rooms are small but roomy enough to move around. Its a 5 min walk to the train station so thats a plus. Wifi works well. The only thing that put me off is the bitchy receptionist. She couldnt understand English but that wasnt so bad - her constant eye rolling at every qstn u asked was a huge turn off. Dont expect to get help from the desk - service here is terrible.

Just living on the side, it is Friday night. The nightclub nearby was a bit noisy, but still asleep. The overall room and facilities are acceptable, and no wired network is inconvenient for notebooks.

OK, fairly standard business hotel. We were bumped to here from the hotel we had booked..... A bit noisy and strong smell of food in the room, from the kitchen, every evening and breakfast time.

Atmosphere modern in a quiet place assolutelly recommended a bit expensive.

We loved everything about this hotel except for the temperature in the room. Unfortunately, it was so hot we couldn't sleep. Even with the window open, we were hot and the apartments across the street could look right in at us (highest floor).

The front desk staff were very friendly, even helping us plan dinners and day trips.

The location is great, it's just a few blocks away from the central train hub (maybe a 10 minute walk) - and there's even a bus stop right outside so you can bus over with your luggage. To boot, the hotel even gave us a free bus pass for going in and around Luzern!

The included breakfast was decent and the wait staff in the restaurant were kind and helpful. Everyone was very accommodating for tourists and spoke several languages.

I would give this hotel 5 stars if only the room's A/C was working. They had some renovations ongoing, I was told by one person that it's a common problem. There weren't any available rooms for us to transfer to, and they couldn't do anything to fix it. Apparently the hotel uses one common A/C system so the lower rooms are frigid and the higher rooms are hot.

Well normal hotel no chart out of the way but bathroom with toilet is worth it !!! Gulliver in Lilliput who could nominate who do and who operate !! Does the management ever walk around the rooms ??? Why isn't there just a simple sink? Don't repeat. See photo

When I come in the room even didn t open the windows, then I see the insect on my pillow. It is quite terrible. Also I can t close my door probably, it s pretty dangerous. And the room card doesn t work twice, when I go to the reception the girl s attitude is so bad. The only good thing is the location is very convenient.

The only problem is they have a night club on fridays lol so

The hotel rooms are quite small and not 4-star level. Among the very hot rooms and absolutely inadequate pillows are not bad the restaurants attached to the hotel and I highly recommend but a very nice bar on the fifth floor although with prices high to avoid the Thai Garden absolutely we paid 100 and eaten in an embarrassing way to say the really good position instead

The room is clean, the restaurant atmosphere is good, the large window can see the scenery outside.

Very good location. Good breakfast. Rooms not very big but enough for a solo business trip. Modern, very clean and with good service (reception, breakfast service, ..., etc.). Pricewise similar to other hotels in Luzern. I will repeat.

The lobby of the hotel is beautifully designed and the environment is clean. In the ground restaurant environment is not as good as the rooftop restaurant, because the rooftop restaurant can see the neighboring Swiss houses, such as tourists who like to shoot, don't miss the sights!

The train station is within walking distance and the room is spacious but does not offer free drinking water and needs to be purchased. There are Migros and Coop nearby, as well as the main shopping and sightseeing areas.

Breakfast was nice. But the rooms in the old wing of the hotel was not nice.
Fitness centre is hard to find and not nice.

The hotel is mostly populated by the Chinese, but they have breakfast separately. There is no restaurant, breakfast is by coupon at the neighbors. Great location and reasonable price, reconcile with the disadvantages.

This place is not right. The have a night club bar on the top floor and the idiot's put us in the room right below the bar... and all night till 3:30am they played loud dance and rock music... and here I am trying to sleep so I can get up at 630am. Didn't get no sleep and got nothing from the staff when I complained. Worst my wife called them at 11pm to at least turn down the music... but nope no such luck. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place... its not worth it.

Beautiful artsy & boutique hotel ... lovely stay. Great hospitality. Staff at checkin was more than helpful & even went out of their way on Multiple requests I had. Major convenience having self park in their private basement parking lot as parking in the city is time consuming and costly.

Roof top bar penthouse and indoor restaurants is a hot spot in the city ... only thing I regret was location of my room 3001 by elevator and adjacent to main lobby area. Noises from people walking by and waiting for elevator and service room (laundry / construction etc) kept waking me up multiple times through out the night.

I would certainly recommend this hotel and come visit again.

It did not leave me good impressions, upon arrival the owner was extremely rude, breakfast well below expectations.

If you have time, you can enjoy this restaurant carefully and look at its exterior and interior design. Design Beijing Bird's Nest and the famous buildings such as Tokyo Prada.

Location very good, central. Spacious rooms although very austere. I had put 4 stars, especially for the situation but we got panga for dinner. The dinner of grief. It could not be worse.

The room was very cold and once we reported to the service desk they acted immediately but for a 4 star hotel this should not happen.
The room was clean but in need of some maintenance (ventilation full of dust, etc...)
On the positive side the breakfast is very good abd the location couldn't be better for us.

Facilities and rooms are quite small, but everything about it is great. The hotel is right in the middle of town, with shops all around.

It is a nice hotel with all things well managed... BUT in our stay we missed our breakfast on a Monday morning as timings on weekdays were different AND the receptionist did NOT inform at check-in time on Friday.

The lack of concern and hospitality of the staff members was disgraceful. Every member of staff and the restaurants in the Astoria should be sent to hospitality school where they should learn the basics of dealing with paying customers. I am surprised that they even have responses from a Quality Management person as this phrase can not in their hotel behaviour. Travel organisations should stop using this hotel until they clean up their staff behaviour. This is from reception, breakfast buffet and attached restaurants. The only staff members who show any courtesy are Asian in origin.The organisational efficiency in this part of Switzerland is no better than many major tourist regions. The sulleness of the Swiss Germans should be publicised so that visitors are aware of what they will face when they visit this hotel and region.

Good position in the centar of the city...very nice

Till now the stay at Astoria Lucerne is great. The rooms are big with an additional sitting couch, plenty of possibilities to charge devices, a bathroom with a tube and more. I have to say that the service is really good. We are staying here for a week and whenever there are questions or challenges they find a solution. The location is really central. Close to the main station and the center. The interior is really nice as well and there are three restaurants. Two Asian and an Italian. Additionally u got a rooftop bar and a Cafe. It's really a hood hotel.

Small stay in Lucerne and pit stop at Astoria. Warm welcome worthy of the name. Comfortable room, you sleep well. Top!
The gourmet lobster menu is a real delight at Bam Bou by Thomas.

Very professional staff. Rooms are nice and modern workout being too art deco. Easy access to public transit and the city center is in walking distance.

Everything was minimal. No kettle to heat up some water to drink, I had to pay chf 1 to buy about 200 c.c. hot water from vending machine. No iron and ironing board to use. No umbrella to borrow except for a few old n torn ones from front desk if I were early enough.

Very Disappointed.... we arrived in our room to no toiletries, and alot of noise from the Conference room above us !

Beautiful hotel very modern! Lack a little something for that is perfect. Cold enough maybe! But we will come back to test again! Super location.

The Thai food is good but not too spicy, maybe is considering Swiss favorite.
