Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino and Hotel Reviews

Last time I was here, there were multiple floors. Now after/during construction, there's only 1 floor. However, not a lot games to play. Lots of old games. Food was good but I was hoping to play more.

Fun casino but the hotel rooms charge for wifi which i haven't encountered since 2007.

Could use a good wash n coat of paint on the outside but clean on the inside

Best place to gamble by far, nice and polite staff want go anywhere else.

It's okay for a stop over when I'm passing through but I'm not making any speciial trips just to visit. The new casino floor is nice, clean of course and well, its new....but the wide open space is almost too opened up...tables were okay, hard to get on a game of roulette, not many of them going. Slots seemed to be newer & very plentiful. However, waitresses are barely visible. I was there 2 days and nights, not one time did an employee ask me if i needed anything or if i was enjoying myself. From the Hotel to the Casino, it lacks that customer service portion of this industry, not typical of a Caesars brand. I wouldn't trade it for my regular spot in a million years.

We normally have a good time here but....1.When I made the reservations the representative would not let us combine out points to get an upgraded room she said she had never heard of it. 2. I wanted to go swimming but It was so over chlorinated that my eyes burned just after viewing the newly remodled area. 3.We did not receive any offers/comps/anything for the Birthday boy(the weekend prior to this visit) And lastly, 4 we didn't win a thing, Lol so we indulged in a few adult beverages and needed late check out, the desk attendant said we could stay an extra 30 minutes. REALLY?! I was pissed but decided to think on it and write this review.we normally have a better experience but the last couple of times have been hit or miss (pun intended) Hopefully we will have a better next time as we frequent this casino. I love this hotel, always neat and clean. The whole staff has always been helpful, informative and so very nice. I've stayed at many hotel's and when you good i let em know and when they aren't i let them know for sure. Thanks you all for having my back when i stay at your place.

Website states free wifi not accurate. It's only for diamond members. It also states there is a buffet there isn't. We wanted to eat at steakhouse but, there is an 18 years of age limit. Wasnt allowed to upgrade room. So far it is not a good weekend trip.

Since they've remodeled you cant get away from the cigarette smoke. They also either need to limit people entering or put more machines in - last time I went the only way my wife and I could get two machines next to eachother was waiting in line.

A pathetic excuse for a casino, terrible management

I've never actually gone there to gamble, I just go to hang out with friends. I love the atmosphere though, it's very big and welcoming. I've eaten at a couple of the restaurants. Though they were on the pricey side, they're worth it, food is fantastic. I also love the fact that the casino is on a boat. To me, that makes it a unique place.

Went to the Casino on Christmas 2016 with my girl friend (I'd like to make a note we are an interracial couple, I'm white she's black). We frequent this place and generally stay in the High Limit area or the 2nd floor, this night was no different we had spent roughly $600 and had came to a stopping point where my girl friend wanted to spend the remainder of her gambling funds on a specific slot machine in the HL area called Brazil (there is only one in the entire building). So we go back to the HL to find a frequent player that we know can be there for a long time so being Christmas and not having to work on Monday we decide it's no big deal to just wait for her to finish (we where prepared to wait hours if need be). Fast forwarding about an hour of waiting my young black girl friend had been patiently sitting about 20ft away playing on her phone and occasionally glancing up to see if he machine was open yet (it gets packed and since there is only one Brazil it's usually a waiting game if you want to play it) and I had been ping ponging between 3 reel slots on occasion doing some spins here or there and security (Bonnie) comes over and tells us she's received complaints that we're making people uncomfortable and nervous being in the area cause they feel like we are watching them and I explain that I had been playing and that my gf was simply waiting on Brazil to open and we where prepared to wait all night it wasn't a big deal to us. Bonnie leaves and 5 minutes later comes back and blurts out in front of everyone in the area "YOU GUYS HAVE TO LEAVE I'VE RECEIVED TWO COMPLAINTS NOW YOU'RE MAKING PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE" in utter disbelief and shock since we know a lot of these frequent players (we frequently play there shoulder to shoulder with them) we leave the area and I request to speak to a manager. The manager whom I can't recalls name (shorter lady, red hair) comes out of the door with a completely disgusted and dismissive attitude towards us hears our complaint of how we was treated and basically tells us we're loitering about and look like the type of people (or at least my gf does apparently since the lady confirms that I had been playing so I was OK but my black gf who was patiently sitting and waiting must be lurking about to rob old white ladies or pick up scrap money and tickets the elite player drop. Get real people, I'm a manager in my career and I've had to deal with complaints before and the first thing I would have done is validated the claim and if that was impossible to do I would have came out and spent some time observing the situation myself to make an accurate judgement call and then if I felt it was warranted I would have pulled the couple in question aside in private and explained the situation to them I would have then spoke to the person reporting the complaint and informed them of the discussion and the decision that had been made but I would have under no circumstances at all had security come over and blurt out in front of numerous people that we're making others feel uncomfortable by merely being in their presence cause guess what? You've now made the couple feel comfortable, you've created a hostile and unwelcome playing environment for us and for people that didn't have a problem to start with you've now put them on edge in regards to us for no reason at all.

In closing no Caesars property will ever get our money again, we can just easily stay at a MGM property in Vegas (they will happily match our tier status) and visit the other local casinos when we decide to gamble in the future.

This place will take your money, but they'll make it a good time. I love SLOTS !!!!!!!!

They've tightened up on the payouts on their slot machines so much that you can't win. Horrible place to gamble

Well before the virus you could just walk right in now they want to take your temperature. You have to have ID to get in and they make you wear a mask I was told to put mine back on when I was drinking a soda how is that even possible

We had a very expensive dinner at Binions Steakhouse. The service was mediocre and the very expensive rib eye had a lot of gristle in it.

The room felt clean, but we did get whiffs of smoke in the bathroom. Probably because we were on the 8th floor and the smoking floors are on 9 and 10. Food options are pricey, but the buffet was amazing. It kind of felt like walking through a maze to get to the pool. There was a wierd ringing noise in the pool area too.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday here recently. The staff went beyond my expectations coordinating everything perfectly for her arrival. The front desk, spa, and room service staff were very friendly and accomodating. We had a wonderful time. I look forward to coming back again soon.

It's a casino. Very clean. Indoor smoking. Clearly labeled non smoking areas as well.

Nice hotel and its being remodeled to be even better, connected to a nice casino with a good game selection and wonderful people on staff.

Had such a amazing time, and we will definitely be coming back. . The security guard Albert went way beyond for us first timers. Thanks so much..

Worst casino i ever ever been too and i have been to at least fifty. The food outside the casino was very good, 4*. But i dont go to casinos for food. I will never go there again cause the casino was small and does not pay out at all or just does not keeps you going like most. :(

Wish they would build a bridge from the parking lot right into Kentucky, so it'd be faster getting there.

The service was great and the food was excellent as always.

Fun-Fun-Fun. Construction going on but still Fun. I like playing forever on the little money I bring and going home with the same amount I took, that's still a win.

It's a great place to go and enjoy losing your money! Just make sure you can afford to lose it! It's gambling after all!

Not a big gambler but it's a fun atmosphere and everyone is always nice.

Meatballs are my fravorite... love love love this place.

Had to many machines not working,every time I turned around there was another one . I could not play.Food was cold too.I'm saying l was not happy at all.

Went to the opening yesterday. Was so disappointed. More than half the machines were closed and the rest were occupied. What a wasted trip. I didnt stay . I called twice today to see if the slot machines were still closed but nobody could tell me anything.

Nice room, great food, was attending a large Christmas party given by the company I work for. Staff was very friendly and always asking how you are.

As is, the facility is fairly nice. Some of the decor might seem a little dated, but according to their website, they will begin renovating the hotel. "Beginning the end of November, Horseshoe Southern Indiana will be renovating the hotel. We're still open and look forward to seeing you and delivering legendary service. Please note our pool and hot tub will remain closed during this time."

I booked 2 rooms to spend 24th December Christmas Eve and was very disappointed with the casino and services. I have fone the Christmas Eve for 2 years at Belterra and way over pass in services. I felt I wasted my money and regret I have changed my n oi rmal plans to go to Ceasars. Would had love to talk to Management while there.

Nice rooms, super comfy bed...nice getaway close to the river....
I highly recommend room service there. It was amazing. I ordered the breakfast pizza and it was delicious like no other. Hot food was hot and cold food was cold, also very nice lady who brought our food! All of the food that we had there at the resort was exceptional!

Had a pretty good time here, can't wait till their finished with construction.

Non smoking area is small, no restrooms by the food court

My spouse and I went to waste time during the day. We had a salad at Jack Binion's Steakhouse that was very good. We did go to have a beer at the burger place and they only had one bartender so that did take quite a long time, however she was working very hard just had too many clients for one bartender. Other than that it was a wonderful time.

they just reopened so a lot of machines are not up and working it was super crowded to not have all the machines up and running but I will be coming back soon

I have been in the customer service industry 35 years.I have also worked at a casino.The staff was not professional or friendly at check in.Not a good experience!

Went there to play the slot machines the walk there is long but its worth it nice ppl there the location is off 111 but the ride is not long its an experience you will not forget!!

Well This was the first time I've been over Caesars since the change And it blew me away It's going to take some time to get adjusted

Rooms were clean the sport's betting section was great my only complaint is the ventilation system doesn't pull any of the cigarette smoke out of the casino . It's very unpleasant for a nonsmoker

Went as an out-of-towner with friends. The staff at the casino tables were very nice. The bar service was not good. I had to pay for my drinks while playing video blackjack at the bar. I don't visit casinos often but I thought that they were complementary if you were betting enough and playing enough.

miss the old boat. the isnt like vegas at all it's more like reno. only seen two roulette tables. poker room is smaller than I remember. unless u wanna play table games or texas hold em then go to derby city in Louisville

The smoking room and hall stunk so bad even the smokers with me complained. The bed was not comfortable at all, I could feel the springs.

The buffet is awesome but sometimes they don't refill the food fast enough and the old food sis there a little too long.

Having not been to Horseshoe Southern Indiana for quite a while we decided to try out Caesars new land based casino. To put it bluntly I was underwhelmed. When you walk into the Casino the lights, sounds and sights are great. After about 5 more steps you hit the wall of smoke. We went on a Saturday night and everyone was smoking everywhere. The "no smoking" areas are merely a suggestion and then it's large open air room so the smoke travels everywhere. It seems the only place no smoking was enforced was the poker room. With respect to the gambling, the sports book was nice but again smoking everywhere with too few group seating areas. Blackjack tables seem plentiful and spaced nicely. There are entirely too few craps and roulette tables. People were stacked three deep at these areas and people had chairs pulled up taking several spots making it impossible to play without waiting 15-20 minutes. Overall, I was hoping for more improvement over the previous facility.

The employees there all treat you with respect and talk to you and make you feel important.

The new bar area is really nice. Not much of a non smoking area is my only complaint

I like it because it's on the land, now. You don't have to walk too far. It has lots of new machines which makes the gaming experience exciting. The music is good; everything is convenient.

We go every year for the spread buffet and casino great place

Great time and won some money. Did not care for how much smoke there was inside.
