Horseshoe Bay Resort Marriott Review

It's always nice when your out there on the water wet sanding gelkote and bringing a boat back to life. Even better when it's Pristine Clean Mobile Details.

The resort was nice. You can tell they've made efforts to improve the facility. The tower pool is great for kids and the new improvements at the Yacht Club pool/beach look good. I found the food and service to be below their claims and my expectations for this type of resort. One exception to that was the valet staff, who were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Lantana/Yacht Club and Market Fresh were ok, but the breakfast buffet and room service we're underwhelming. We enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the resort, but I think some improvements can be made as noted.

A once proud resort in serious decline.

Four plus years ago a shining star when a Marriott property today a declining resort lacking in overall facility maintenance while nickel and diming each guest. The resort is in decline, lacks maintenance but charges a $28-day resort fee to use facilities like pool and wi-fi. Really...
We attended a family wedding. We booked a huge block of rooms at this family wedding most all wedding guests had the same issue, running toilets, slow shower drains so standing in 4" of water..., dirty air vents, wallpapering peeling, worn out carpet and overcharging at the front desk.

Our $45 room service was 15 minutes late and cold, wedding venues in decay, light bulbs out, rotting wood.

I booked a massage via phone week ahead, and asked for an email confirmation (never received), I called the minute arrive to cancel due to a wedding time change, the spa informed me a 24 hr. cancellation policy and charged my cc $270! I was never informed of this policy during any process of the booking and finally got it taken off my bill after waiting in long lines at check out. My brother had duplicate breakfast charges totaling over $45 and had to have his bill adjusted as well.

The hotel is nice but they're advertising has hidden fees noted. But you really have to read close in the fine print to be able to find the fees. When we made the reservation it said the fees and taxes were included. When we got to the resort there were additional fees not mentioned until we came to check out. Use caution staying here, read the reservation VERY carefully.

Booked online for 4th to 6th of July. Online rate showed $266 per room. Actual rate was $508 per room. Nice bait and switch. Look at your confirmation very closely if you choose to stay. However there are much better resorts for a lot less money.

They finally agreed that they made a mistake and will credit our bills and comp us a free night.

It's been more than 24 hours and several emails and phone calls and still no actual credit has appeared. We have gotten a ton of excuses however. Still hopeful they make this right.

The restaurants are not good, they close at 10 and there is nothing to do, you cannot even find 1 coffee.

Nice conference center that accommodates many hundreds of guests but severely insufficient parking for that number of guests. Across the street from the conference center is a large dirt lot where people must often park because there is an obvious driveway and dirt parking rows (obviously made by cars parking there repeatedly) and on my first day here I witnessed the police citing up to a dozen cars parked there on three different occasions. Get a clue Horseshoe Bay and please provide parking to your conference guests who's associations are paying you very good money to provide basic accommodations to your guests. Yes, parking is a basic accommodation. Either make the dirt lot a parking lot, provide signs to direct guests (not staying at your resort) to alternate nearby parking. First, for goodness sake, block off the dirt lot so cars cant access it instead of calling the police repeatedly to cite these cars several times a day when it looks like a place people park alternately to the jam packed lots nearby. What a waste of the city's time and money to pay the police to come and put stickers on these vehicles all day when all you have to do is put some ropes and signs up. Maybe you dont want to redirect traffic with basic communication because you have no nearby parking to direct vehicles to? I have yet to find an adequate lot nearby where the conference guests can park. This is extremely frustrating and really uncalled for. I'm dreading my return tomorrow to your conference center and I will certainly never consider vacationing here with this sour taste in my mouth.

Incredible place. Lance at Concierge/Valet is a great employee and asset to this resort. He deserves a raise. My Car had broken down and he went out of his way to make sure that I was well taken care of. He went above and beyond for me today.

Great resort. Wish we had more time to spend at the resort. Didn't get to experience all the amenities. Excellent food and restaurant choices, great service and wonderful spa. I would recommend making reservations before going to spa or yacht club, especially if you're going during a peak time. Definitely plan to go back.

Under construction 7 days a week until 5:30pm...on Easter weekend. They put you in a room directly under an entire floor of construction, advise that any other available room is also directly under the construction, offer no alternatives than a ticket to a resort festival. Would not advise staying here.

I actually went to Horseshoe Bay in order to play tennis on their clay courts. Their courts were in excellent condition and groomed very well and the clay itself was of very good quality as well.

Great location. We loved our stay and the surrounding areas.

Favorite resort in the region, a must see destination

Great spot to hold company events. The staff took care of us and the timing was on point with everything.

Beautiful space, the restaurant food was not great but service was nice.

Every member of the staff here was so friendly. Accommodations excellent. Food amazing. Was a great anniversary get away.

Overall, nice. But it's lack of attention to detail really took away from the experience. I don't know how long it's been open, but it felt like an old hotel. The key cards failed after its first use. The tvs all were standard definition. Food was okay, but largely lacking.

Valet, bell hop, and front desk awesome. Pool staff and restraunt at pool were horrible. Waited over an hour and a half for our food, had 4 babies requested inside got sat outside in the blistering heat. Rooms were dated way over priced, typical only game in town scenerio.

Stayed at the apartments... Big room, but clearly old

Excellent service and plenty of amenities. Rooms fairly dated and no different than other hotels, but you'll spend more time at yacht club, golfing, on the water, or at the spa anyway. Felt like we had the resort to ourselves with a Sunday night stay, but some of the resort is closed Sundays and Mondays.

Sasha was the best! What a friendly and helpful person...kudos to Sasha and the entire staff.m!

Pools over crowded. Good place it needs way bigger pool area.

I was very impressed with this resort hotel. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious. Most importantly to me, the hotel was so clean. The cleanest hotel I've ever come across. The view from my hotel room was very nice. The resort is nicely lit at night. The bed, pillows, sheets and comforter were super comfortable and cozy, I slept so well. I highly recommend Horseshoe Bay Resort Hotel.

Family stayed at condos really nice, staff really great, very accommodating

Never going back. I've stayed here before but I didnt get a sense that my concerns mattered to them. make sure you get a confirmation email with the exact detail of prices.

I called reservations to book a two day stay with 2 rounds of golf. The person suggested I go for the unlimited golf package for just a $40 difference. I also mentioned a texasgolfnow deal which was very similar in price but it did not include umlimited golf. I agreed to do the unlimited deal he offered and i was quoted a TOTAL of $389 for two golfers, 2 nights, unlimited golf - all taxes and resort fees included. (the texasgolfnow deal was above $330 for 2 nights) When i arrived I was told that $389 was per night! i gave the name of the person who made reservations, to which they replied, he no longer worked there and that they couldnt do anything for me. i said i wished they recorded their calls to which they said "we do" and i jumped on that, i asked them to play back recording. they told me that manager would have to do it and that i would get a call back.. so we checked in for at least that one night and to play some golf while they reviewed the call. i never heard back from any manager, i followed up but my request was still under review. i visited them to check out and then they finally said the recording didnt reveal anything. i wish they would have let me hear it. I also wish they would have worked something out with me as this was a disagreement brought on by their former employee. I payed for my reservation in advance. And i wanted an explanation as to why i would only have payed for half if that indeed was the price they thought i agreed to? i would make no sense to me to pay for only half. I was paying for a 2 day stay in full. not half of it.. They doubled my price and it made me very frustrated. I wont go back because of it-- the principle of the whole transaction and not the money..

UPDATE: RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This horrible resort has now double charged us $9K on two credit cards, even after I spoke to them on the phone yesterday about $3K in pending charges although we paid the bill in full (not worth it, the prices are crazy for what you get.)

I guess they don't tell guest charging things to their room that they put thousands of dollars of pending charges on your credit card and they can stay there for 10 days. I am outraged, I now have to spend more time at work on hold trying to fix these issues, after they have double charged us everything. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS.

We paid almost $900/night for a large condo and the only cleaning included was once every four days, so once a week. Even then I had to ask repeatedly and finally had cleaning arrive on day 6, and even then they barely cleaned the condo beyond changing sheets.

Service was incredibly slow and disorganized, and many things were closed or under construction. The day we arrived we waited 15 min to get a drink and 45 minutes to get lunch when there was only one other couple at the restaurant. I am currently on hold trying to figure out how I got $3K worth of pending charges to my credit card beyond the outrageous sum we paid for the resort as a whole. Very disappointed.

Overall, this is a spe tabular resort. The accommodations, scenery and location are exceptional. The food, however, is mediocre. Communication could be better too.
We reserved 3 rooms for our extended family on a 4 day stay here.
When I personally requested one of our families be relocated to a room with more space like the other family, I was assured a specific room (350) on another floor would be exactly what we requested.
When they went to the newly assigned room. It was identical to what they already had.
Questioning staff, they were told I had said anything in the 350 room number range was fine.
We never had a conversation like that.
I am very specific in my communications.

Otherwise we really like the resort.

Great Texas resort. Loved the room. Very clean, did not get to take advantage of the amenities because of the weather. I would definitely come back with better weather.

This was such a beautiful location, family member has a condo there with a great view of the water. The members club had a great restaurant and the buffet was excellent.

Ok rooms. Was not unique, seemed like I had been here before.

Here for a work conference. Nice rooms.

Pizza was surprisingly good at the restaurant.

The Resort is awesome. I go there for tennis tournaments. Beautiful gardens and waterfalls with a huge pool and awesome hot tub. Nice hotel rooms with condos available. Highly recommend for couples or families.

Had a great time place is gorgeous employees excellent La Quinta and Tiffany were outstanding will be back again and tell all my friends. Thank you!!!
