We spent our 5th anniversary here and loved it! Since traveling isn't a great option right now we decided to stay local and I'm happy we found this place. It made us feel like we took a vacation to a tropical island. This place was definitely a good stay! Make sure to check out the yaught club hot tub!
Very nice. Great staff. Nice way to have a quick vacation
It is really nice, but they over charged us more then 400 dollars for someone else's tab on the bar. They eventually credit us after telling them repeatedly we did not spend that. Steve in the spa was great, only reason I would go back, but would never stay.
The Pictures band has performed here and really enjoy it! Great staff and beautiful place!!!
Love the condos there. Have stayed there for 4 years.
Wished housekeeping would track better on guest towel count and deliver requested tea. I arrived alone at 1:00 a.m. and was asked if I wanted to lug my luggage in the dark to my unknown condo location - NO.
Food on property was good. Bar, although warned by conference team, was understaffed.
Bed was awesome and I slept like a rock.
Exceptional property grounds.
I love this resort with all my heart. I grew up here in the summers and was so fortunate to have had the opportunity to live this upbringing. I met the most incredible people there and we would always take care of each other. At Horshoebay, you feel the family loving energy.
Overall good place, facilities were nice, and the area is beautiful. There were a few unwelcome pests in the room, which knocked the stay down a star.
Excellent facility. Been her twice. Will return if the opportunity arises. I stayed in the villas. Shuttles are frequent and drivers very curious. Only issue I had was finding parking spot near my villa when I got there. Should have AT LEAST one reserved spot to each villa for reserved guests. I parked half a block away in another parking lot. Dog friendly was a plus.
The course was amazing. Couldn't have picked a better course in the area
I would just like to say that Brandy is the best employee you have, and she does an amazing job. Kudos to your team and best of luck to HSB going forward.
The resort itself was gorgeous. The staff were very helpful and professional. The rooms were nice on first inspection, but had some minor issues with build quality (like doors needed to be slammed shut).
Valet staff was very helpful. I wasn't sure where exactly to go and they were very informative. The ladies at The Market were also very nice.
Very nice property, the rooms are great. TV quality was iffy but I didn't care because I like the outdoors better.
The grounds are pretty but the hotel needs to be updated and maintained. Service out by the pool is awful...
The staff has been so accommodating with special needs I have had while staying here. Every request I've had has been fulfilled over and above my expectations. The beds are so comfortable, the rooms have been the perfect temperature, did had been amazingly delicious. Can't wait to come back.
From the time of our arrival, I knew it would be a great time and fun vacation experience for our family. Front desk guys are quick and informative. We even had someone check on us at lunch while at Lantana, she was very professional yet delightful and you could see that she took much pride in her job, baking the bread which us AMAZING!! We will return!
Our family enjoyed a 1 day stay-cation at this hotel for the first time and we will definitely be back. The hotel is in a great location and has 3 pools to enjoy. Our favorite pool was the Yacht Club Pool. The hotel also has a Starbucks and free parking!
We went to Lantana because no other restaurant was open on thanksgiving. We had the best waitress and food was amazing! I recommend it anyone.
The place is wonderful, but we had some issues. We had some issues with getting our room which we were compensated for. We didn't have great service at the restaurant and felt like the amenities were lacking. Other than that everything was nice we had some massages and those were great.
Beautiful area, the hotel is great and service is nice. The pool was heated, and the lounge areas had cool features
The resort was beautiful and the staff was friendly. We stayed in a king suite and used the sofa trundle bed for our teenage boys to sleep in. That was a big mistake! It was very uncomfortable for them since they could feel the springs of the mattress. Would not stay here again unless we had a room with 2 beds.
Played a round on putter golf with friends. Had lots of fun. Need more water to drink on the course.
Even under construction our stay was pleasant. Due to the construction valet parking was free. The pizza is great at the bar. Only inconvenience was that we were not allowed to drink anywhere else on the hotel other than the bar or our room. We were there for a convention and our group usually hangs out after hours so there we were all cramped up in a room.
Rooms are nice, facilities clean. I think they just had a renovation and it is much better than old pictures show. Elevators in only one spot is a bit of an inconvenience.
Our first time here, staying at Paseo Apt, here are the pros: spacious bathroom, decent layout. The cons: chipped door, soiled couch and poor lighting. Overall, place is great. Oh yes, lots of bees by the pool area!
The resort is really nice. They have beautiful pools and gardens. We stayed in the paseo apartments. I had read that some were dated but the one we stayed was not. The yacht club is gorgeous and has a beach area to layout. I definitely recommend it and will definitely be returning.
The room, location, and services were great. But they did not have enough amenities like pillows and blankets.
Dinner with family staying at resort. Service was sub par.
Great mountain-lake resort. Will trying golf on next visit
Stayed here for part of our honeymoon, the review encompasses everything including hotel, food and spa. The valet was friendly and fairly quick, but the front desk staff was rather hit or miss, and occasionally more full of themselves than friendly -- not exactly what you expect from a resort stay. We were wanting a king room with our initial reservation but were put in a double queen and then forced to pay for an upgrade just in order to get the king bed we had booked. That said, the upgrade to the junior suite was worth it for the room and I would recommend the room type. One major drawback with our stay was the shuttle service at the resort. While the resort is walkable, they encourage the use of their shuttle service which then never comes. We waited a solid 40 minutes after dinner for a shuttle which is supposed to run "every 10 minutes," and the shuttle only came after my personally calling the hotel. When we brought this up to the front desk the young man working that evening was entirely unconcerned. The food at the Lantana (hotel tower restaurant) for dinner and breakfast was good but service took quite a while, especially during dinner. The service at the Yacht Club was much more responsive and dinner was outstanding, definitely stop by. We also took a spa day, all of which was beautifully relaxing. We hardly ran into any other guests at the spa the entire time -- had our own private spa experience! Our couples massage was perfect, and the entire staff was very friendly, welcoming, and completely focused on our relaxation. Overall a good stay, but definitely some room for improvement in a luxury resort.
Horseshoe Bay is one of the most underrated resorts in the nation. The resort is breathtaking. The golf courses are world class. Service is exceptional. This is such a beautiful setting with extreme attention to details like landscaping, services, amenities, etc. You can not help but have an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!
Beautifull place lots of great amenities. Clean rooms & helpfull.staff went for a mariage treat everyone was really friendly.
This resort is very nice and has plenty of family friendly activities. The food was pricey and there was not a great variety, but the views are gorgeous.
My husband had to come here for a work-related conference and I joined him. The service was good during the 2.5 days we were here for the work conference. Our children (ages 1 and 3) joined us at the end of the week and we stayed the weekend here with them. That is when the service got really bad. The same restaurant we had dined at days before, wouldn t even acknowledge us when we tried to get a table for lunch. My husband stood at the front of Lantana, at the hostess stand, for 15 minutes and when the hostess finally started acknowledging people she skipped over him and sat ALL of the other parties before us. She actually never even acknowledged my husband or made any attempt to say anything to him like give me a minute or whatever. We ended up leaving and dining at the restaurant by the yacht club which was excellent. The service there was great. Later that evening we tried to dine again at Lantana because the kids were tired and it is so close to our room. We were seated outside around 9:30. A woman approached our table to inform us that she was not our waitress but someone would be coming by soon. She didn t take a drink order nor appetizer order. We waited and waited and waited. We witnessed the table right next to us receive great service and banter with the waiter. He refused to even look at us. We also witnessed another waiter exchange fun banter and great service to a table with a group of women. He also, walked by us several times with no acknowledgement. My husband got up from the table and walked inside to ask the hostess about the status of a waiter and was informed that well, we close at 10:00 so . . . They should have never sat us at a table if they weren t willing to wait on us. My husband and I both are professionals that worked our way through college and grad school by working in restaurants! We are not unreasonable and we also understand the difference between being in the weeds and being too busy and just being apathetic and having a bad attitude. The staff at this resort simply has a bad attitude. My advise is don t come here if you have kids. You will be treated like a second class citizen. If you are coming here for a work conference or something like that then there is a higher probability you will have a good experience. My husband and I have been here when it was part of Marriott years ago and it was a much better experience back then.
Friendly attentive staff. Great food. Relaxing beautiful atmosphere. Love the tropical birds on site. Note; I didn t stay in any of the accommodations. Just visited the restaurants and grounds.
The fish and chips and the filet sliders are delicious at the Yacht Club. But the crab and lobster Cobb salad for $19 is lacking. Like lacking the crab, lobster and flavor.
This was such a great experience. The staff makes this place what it is. Highly recommend for couples and families both.
The resort is very nice, however the food is TERRIBLE. We ate at practically every restaurant and found them all the be extremely low quality for a hefty price. I know resort food isn't typically the best around, but this was downright awful. They somehow managed to make a hamburger disgusting. I had to send a fish sandwich back because it wasn't cooked and they sent me a new one that wasn't cooked either. My wife and I were so disappointed that we will not be going back.
This was our first time at horseshoe bay and I can t say we d return. Our bathroom had mold on ceiling and tile. There were massive amounts of cobwebs/dirt on the outside of the windows. With this being a $200/night hotel I expect more then average. There was nothing great about the room. There wasn t a single employee that went above and beyond. Some of the stuff were borderline rude.
I will say the grounds of this property were beautiful and views are to die for. We enjoyed the golf but wouldn t spend money on a room.
When I m paying $200/night plus a resort fee I expect more then what we got. Disappointed to say the least. I wouldn t recommend this hotel to a friend unfortunately.
Conference rooms were amazing, flexible room options to match group size, technology worked perfect for all the rooms, diverse food options to accommodate any tastebud, great eating area inside any outside. The resort was beautiful lounge and pool with great alcohol for adults and areas to accommodate kids of any age (even our toddler w/ baby pool area). Great friendly staff! Will definitely be going back.
Pretty decently nice stay, my huge complaint is that the spa had no warning of a cancelation policy and charged for the full service with no warning and when brought to the directors attention they sided with the employee whom lied about informing us of a cancelation policy. They refused to help work anything out. Will not be coming back.
We stayed at the resort hotel which was very pleasant. The hotel room was stylish and clean. The pools were nice, and the staff were nice and courteous. It was too hot to enjoy all of their amenities like the gardens and tennis courts, but the animal encounters and concerts made up for that. Would recommend to anyone wanting a Hill Country getaway.
Came here for a junior golf tournament. This is our second time here. We love the hospitality.
The place was very exquisite with many activities and would recommend to many others. I appreciate the hospitality I came across. The workers to the guests , everyone had a great personality.
Horseshoe Bay in general is a very nice, upscale area. The lake and all facilities I saw were in great condition. This entire complex is designed for, and services wealthy lake house owners and vacationers.
The restaurant is ok (it's new), and the marina is well run. Would go again.
Not bad spot.
Edited. They took a month to clear transactions & 2 fake or unauthorized swipes. It hit me at worst time. 4th time in 5yrs they do this. System is SO OLD they can't keep up with swipes. My advice, use the ATM since its the most advanced computer there and keep your card safe!
Nice place to visit. Friendly staff, clean room and very comfortable beds.
Several activities and fun for families or couples.
What an outstanding place! I never knew that it was such a good stay-cation place so close to Austin. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. Golf was pricey. The natural grass putting course was unique. Expensive to play, but one of a kind. Anyone that really likes golf will be impressed.
Not at all what I expected for a "resort". It is a small hotel surrounded by an apartment complex. Unless you use the valet, check in before you park. Parking is extremely limited and not convenient to the lobby.
The free wi-fi is terrible. The signal is weak and constantly disconnects. Forget getting any meaningful work done.
We first were assigned to a Palm "vacation apartment". Again, the parking was terrible. We could not park anywhere near our room. This unit looked like every college apartment I've ever seen. The furniture was cheap looking and feeling. The bedroom was TINY. The bathroom and hall floors were covered with pill bugs/rolly-pollys and other beetle type bugs. If they had all been dead, I could have been satisfied with someone vacuuming again. However, many were still crawling. We asked to be moved.
We were then assigned to a room on a floor that had just been renovated. It did look nice. However, the chemical out gassing from paint/carpet/glue was overpowering. The shower curtain rod fell down twice while my husband was showering. The floor below was still being renovated and there were hammering and drilling sounds during the day. The thermostat could not keep up with the humidity. The room was damp all of the time, regardless of the temperature.
The desk staff was nice enough to us, although they seemed to be rude to each other.
Worth every penny. Luxury doesn't describe the possibility.
Love this resort! It has all the fun you could ask for plus a very professional staff and, my favorite feature, the size--it's not overly large. Sometimes resorts can be annoyingly spread out, but getting around Horseshoe Bay is a breeze. If something is not in walking distance, they offer great shuttle and golf cart transportation.
Had a great time here. Awesome room great restaurants. Free smores beautiful views. Putting course. If it would have been warmer weather we would have loved to go on the water. Definitely will be going back
Great place for haves if your a have not you are a pee on at best
We ve been to Horseshoe Bay twice with our children and will definitely be back. We love that there are so many family friendly activities AND good food/service. A quick and easy drive from Austin sure doesn t hurt but we d make the trek even if it was farther away!
there really was not much to do. To be fair it was the beginning of March and not very warm
