My husband had to come here for a work-related conference and I joined him. The service was good during the 2.5 days we were here for the work conference. Our children (ages 1 and 3) joined us at the end of the week and we stayed the weekend here with them. That is when the service got really bad. The same restaurant we had dined at days before, wouldn t even acknowledge us when we tried to get a table for lunch. My husband stood at the front of Lantana, at the hostess stand, for 15 minutes and when the hostess finally started acknowledging people she skipped over him and sat ALL of the other parties before us. She actually never even acknowledged my husband or made any attempt to say anything to him like give me a minute or whatever. We ended up leaving and dining at the restaurant by the yacht club which was excellent. The service there was great. Later that evening we tried to dine again at Lantana because the kids were tired and it is so close to our room. We were seated outside around 9:30. A woman approached our table to inform us that she was not our waitress but someone would be coming by soon. She didn t take a drink order nor appetizer order. We waited and waited and waited. We witnessed the table right next to us receive great service and banter with the waiter. He refused to even look at us. We also witnessed another waiter exchange fun banter and great service to a table with a group of women. He also, walked by us several times with no acknowledgement. My husband got up from the table and walked inside to ask the hostess about the status of a waiter and was informed that well, we close at 10:00 so . . . They should have never sat us at a table if they weren t willing to wait on us. My husband and I both are professionals that worked our way through college and grad school by working in restaurants! We are not unreasonable and we also understand the difference between being in the weeds and being too busy and just being apathetic and having a bad attitude. The staff at this resort simply has a bad attitude. My advise is don t come here if you have kids. You will be treated like a second class citizen. If you are coming here for a work conference or something like that then there is a higher probability you will have a good experience. My husband and I have been here when it was part of Marriott years ago and it was a much better experience back then.
