Have been with HAG for a few years now and I'm totally bowled over by their service. I recently had need for a defective water dispenser to be replaced on my Beko fridge fridge freezer. I made the call, a few days later an engineer arrived. After checking the fault, he advised the part would need to be ordered and would take a week. One week later, he returned and replaced the item. Not the first time I have had to call on HAG, but as always, the service I received went beyond excellent and I would readily suggest to anyone to make use of HAG. Don't use this company. They are not to be trusted and just want to make money. They will charge an excess fee for each engineering visit even though they claim they mention this on the canvessing call. They claim they listened to the original canvessing call and claim that it was mentioned to me. I asked if I could listen to the call myself, it would cost me. I would never have taken this insurance out had I known this. Yes, it is in the Policy Wording but it is conveniently tucked away in a small paragraph. If you do have a visit and the engineer cannot find the fault as it may be intermittant, they will charge you again for a visit should the same issue occur and this may be more. I have never known an appliance insurance company to charge excess. They are not customer driven but merely money driven - DON'T USE THEM.

My wife took the policy and had when we wanted to cancel there was miscommunication with the agent. In spite we want to cancel the policy as we have not taken decision to go ahead and wanted to do bit more market search, the agent kept saying they are happy to extend until I have taken a decision. When we decided to cancel they simply want to charge us for the extended period. I then asked to speak to the manager Natalie who was very understanding and took the charges off. This service was appreciated and after few market research I have now decided to go back especially after the way my complaint was dealt by the manager Natalie.

I am really surprised by the negative feedback. I have used Home Appliance Guard for a number of years. I have never had any issue with Customer Service, they have always been prompt and helpful.
Recently, the HDMI on our TV failed and the engineer was out within a week, but the cost of repair was to much. So I was offered a replacement or the cash. I looked at the replacement on line and agreed that it was fine. it was delivered in a couple of days.
We have our Hotpoint Washing Machine with them too. That has been rebuilt so many times over the last 10 years. It has been real value for money having the insurance. A couple of weeks ago the motor packed in. The engineer was out the next day. Although he could not fix it he arranged a new motor and it was running again within the week.
I can't fault them or Home Appliance Guard. Never a problem, always happy to help. Having been a manager with Tesco, I am happy to complain about anything that I am not happy with.

This company is totally sales / money driven. Twice now, over the past year, I have cancelled policies that my elderly parents were convinced they needed (on a 15yr old tumble drier + 4 other too-old-to-insure white goods, for heavens sake!), & have been assured on the phone that they would not be contacted again. (I have cancelled these polices both in writing & with phone calls). Recently these policies were re-presented to the bank, who honoured them, and money has been taken from my parents' account without their permisson. They've since been refunded, but guess what?? My parents are being hassled on the phone by this company again who now say that they owe them money...!! For the sake of politeness I will say that they are disorganised & unprofessional, but it seems they just won't go away. Next stop will be to report them to the Direct Debit mandate office for unprofessional conduct. Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend this company....

Received a cold call from someone claiming to be from this company. When asked where they got my number, they said from a database. Advised them they are in breach of GDPR and they have to report this. When asked for their company address I was given the company name Home Safeguard and post code BH1 2AJ, which wasn't bringing up anything obvious on Google. I asked if they were Home Appliance Guard (the closest I could find) to which they said yes. I asked them to confirm the post code and they did not. When I asked them why they had given me the wrong details first and if they were just giving the details of another company to hide behind, I did not get a worthwhile response.
