Great location, walking distance from the Dolby theater and they have a 24/7 burger joint to make up for not much good food close by. A little overpriced tho, especially the (great) drinks in the lobby bar

Worth a visit if you enjoy experiencing different interior design styles. Very large lobby and big comfortable couches to sit and have a drink to rest tired feet. Friendly doorman whom I m sure doesn t have an easy time with the millions of tourists passing by. The building felt historical with ghosts of the Hollywood past. 1930s/Art Deco medieval vibe.
We did a Hollywood's Haunted walking your and the Roosevelt was one of our stops. So many stories about this hotel. Marylin Monroe still seen around the pool! Lol. Great hotel. Beautiful lobby and bar area. Someday I will actually stay here.
Classy looking place (Hollywood Tower of Terror?) yet filled with the... very colorful clientele you'll find right outside on the sidewalk. Great bar staff, very professional. Weird rules about where you can sit based on where you ordered your drink.
I never take the time to write hotel reviews, but I feel compelled to do so about the Hotel Roosevelt. Even before I arrived, I had to arrange for a delivery to be received on my behalf. I called ahead and spoke to Adam who arranged for my package to be kept safe until my check in 48 hours later. This allowed me to hit the floor running with my jam-packed schedule.
After what was 24 hours of travel from London, I arrived shattered but I was greeted with a lovely warm welcome. As a solo traveller, I had stayed it the area before but at an Airbnb. I wanted a different experience this trip around so chose the Roosevelt for it's central location. As as non-driver I get around LA on the Metro which is 2 mins away (Hollywood/Highland) and Uber.
I hung out at the pool in the mornings and the vibe is so chilled, I was always welcomed warmly by Kai who did a great job of making me feel welcome. It's always harder when you are on your own anywhere but every day it was like saying hi to someone who had my back. Ha I rocked up to chill by the pool dressed to the nines in a glittering sari as I waited for my Uber to arrive. Kai and the team were on hand with lovely chit chat to fill the time and help me to blend in (ha ha)
Sean on concierge was ace when on the first night I lost a filling, he was on hand to help me speak to the front desk team to help me with treatment options. (It worked out great as there's a CVS across the road that is open until 00:00 everyday!
Jeremy on the main entrance was awesome when it came to receiving my Uber's and offered fab advice about places to check out in LA.
I also have to namecheck Sebastian who managed the excellent team. It's a testament to the brilliant team, many of whom I have named. It goes to show how excellent my time was there and the commitment offered by a fabulous team of doers!
I had my reservations about the Roosevelt, I thought it was going to be old and stuffy. It completely exceeded my expectations as a cool, fun and buzzing place to stay in the heart of Hollywood. It is perfect if you are there on your own like I was or as a group of friends. I wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend it to my friends. The room was lovely with fab views of the hills and Hollywood Boulevard. Tip: If you love ping pong, there is a great table hidden away in the gorgeous beer garden.
Went for drinks with a friend. We had to ask three times to be served, and the bartender seemed supremely annoyed. The she just disappeared. It took another 20 minutes to order food, which never came. The valet staff and door staff were very nice though. Quick service, polite, and gracious. We were not staying in the hotel, just went for drinks at the outside pool bar around 2pm.
Beautiful hotel, extremely nice bell hops and staff. I loved staying here. We did have a broken phone in our room which made it hard to call and order food and the tub wouldn't drain, filled up super fast . But the place is beautiful and More
I love the Old Hollywood vibes and multiple bar locations throughout this landmark. Anytime I am nearby, I always make an effort to stop in for at least one drink and to absorb some history.
In the 80"s when i played in heavy metal bands and top-40&New wave KROQ bands we played there at the roosevelt now where the bands use to play ,is now a very elegant restraunt we were booked there by Rick Sommers who was judy garlands agent and at the hotel the M,C was Skip lowe who is a icon in hollywood hell he's probably still there he's the glue that keeps hollywood together! Im sorry to say the rick Sommers is no longer with us he was a good friend and the most diverse agent I've ever known! Think about it he was judy garlands then promoting heavy metal?the heavy metal clubs didnt know what to think of this guy!! I know I still think the world of him and it was an honor to have him represent us that took BALLS and that to me is REAL ROCK `N`ROLL it inspired us to NEW LEVELS THANKYOU RICKY
I feel safe and comfortable throughout my stay at this hotel! I liked the room, and the hotel workers are very accommodating. The room was also clean, the free breakfast was excellent, and the infinity pool is fabulous. I would definitely recommend it to my friends, and I will surely book here next time.
Our experience at the Hollywood Roosevelt was underwhelming, considering the amount of money they charged us for a 1 week stay.
Notable comments about our stay: 1) Henry, at front desk, was a superstar at check-in (hence the 1 star). 2) The rooms smelled bad when we first entered. One of the rooms had toilet paper floating in the lavatory. 3) In one room, the iron didn't work and the t.v. was 'temporarily unavailable' our whole stay. 4) Our 4 person room barely fit 3 (the beds were smaller than our 2 person rooms). 5) Check-out took very long since reception wasn't prepared to give us back our deposit in cash. Maybe next time get everything ready beforehand; our check-out should have been anticipated.
The Roosevelt always has a chill vibe in the lobby spaces, with a very Old Hollywood feel. Beautiful and Zentastic. The Spare Room (on the mezzanine) is great for a drink and hang with friends, or a whole evening exploring the cocktail menu. Yael and her team will always take great care of you!
I lowered my rating because they are abusive, it has been more than 1 month and I am not reimbursed for the taxes I paid per night of lodging ($ 450USD) and nobody answers anything. The next week I went to NY and they already sent me my money. Be careful
i stayed here after New Years and it was awesome. its only about 45 minutes from Long Beach so not a bad drive from the house. staff was a bit stiff, but overall nice.
Didn't stay in the hotel but heard about all the historical events like the first oscars and it being haunted. The employees were very knowledgeable in these facts and welcomed us to walk around and explore. So beautiful. Walking in felt like we were going back in time to a classy hotel of the rich and famous of Hollywood.
Disappointing for the price. Rooms lacking attention to detail eg half drink fringe left in mini bar from last guest, two towels for 4 guests. Not enough room to walk between bed and wall. Very noisy aircon. Jittery TV reception and had to call housekeeping at 11pm to ask for carpet dryer in hallway to be turned off. Bathroom very small, with no way to turn on shower without getting wet - taps on other end of bath with half the bath being blocked by glass. Location of hotel feels generally unsafe with lots of homeless and poor harrassing you to take they cd, have a photo, give them money. BEWARE you need to pay a bond of $150 per night and this takes days to be refunded on check out.
I stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel this past weekend, what a delight. The room was small but quaint. I contacted the front desk and got upgraded to a larger room, it was simply beautiful, I still cant stop thinking about the drapes. During our stay one of the elevator doors got stuck closed; just as we were begining to think something was wrong, the doors opened, a ghost ? Probably. I would definitely stay there again.
The Roosevelt hotel is amazing. I love the vibe here and the rooms are great. Amazing location right by the walk of stars. There are about 3 bars at this hotel and a great lobby. Tons of shops and restaurants around the hotel as well. Also, one of the best pool parties every sunday
This is the most opulent hotel in the world! It was a spotless, slick place. Suitable for company meetings and date nights. It's been a perfect way to unwind. So far, we've had a wonderful time here. You're going to need a clear view of the neighborhood. You did a fine job!
We had our Christmas party there for work. It was probably the worst bar food we've ever had. Penne pasta with baby shrimp. Disgusting. Eggplant Parmesan was almost inedible and you could hit it with your fork and it hurt. It seemed like it was microwaved and days old. Beyond terrible. Chicken and pasta. The chicken was good & moist. However, it was also like it was microwaved. Whenever you have to say chicken is moist is probably not good. The best thing that was served was the crab cakes that were tray passed. There was a crudite that was embarrassing. Carrots cucumbers tomatoes and the basics. It was shameful. A college frat party could do better. The venue was beautiful and the drinks were amazing. Unfortunately the food was revolting and our entire office party suffered. The bowling was fun. Just make sure you eat before you go there. Overall we had a great time. It's just unfortunate that the food was terrible. It was ineditable every single bit of it. 20 people went home hungry.
We have a great room, pity the kids had to share a bed, we wanted to go for a swim on friday night, but the pool closed at 7pm. On Sunday we wanted to have a swim, during the day, but there was a private pool party! Only allowed to take 1 other person, we are a party of 4. We try for a swim later!
Good Staff, and Awesome location. No other hotel in Hollywood is located better than here ( Hollywood walk of fame, Dolby, TCL Chinese Theater, Madame Tussauds; right in front of the hotel ) However, I feel like the rooms should be quite a lot better for the price you have to pay for the night. The rooms and washrooms are small, and quite dirty on the floor, and the heaters at night are absolutely loud as they can be. However, the location makes it such an attractive place to stay.
I had an excellent experience at The Hollywood Roosevelt. The location was very ideal for getting around Los Angeles. My room had the expected amenities and my hotel room was very clean. The service was also phenomenal with the staff coming to attend me hastily.
The valet let me park for free when I was taking film photos with my vintage camera. He was awesome! I came back later that day to have a drink. Great bar and excellent service.
