Holiday Inn down town dubai Review

Wonderful and beautiful hotel, and the whole team is cheerful and helpful. There is free Wi-Fi and there are free parking. Reservations are preferred through bookings or the traveler to ensure an excellent and cheap price.

Another beautiful edifice at the centre of the city !

A hotel that offers very excellent customer service and has everything the visitor needs from calm and peace of mind, room service is excellent, clean and has an outdoor swimming pool

The location was pretty safe contrary to what some of my local friends claims that the area is not safe, I felt safe walking even at night time. The Al Rigga metro station is just a few minutes away which is very convenient you don t need to use taxi every time.
As usual being the lower grade brand of IHG - the size is smaller and it is a little bit run down Holiday Inn property- an upgrade/renovation is much needed.
The property has a sauna & a tiny gym for both male & female which is great but for female guests the sauna is uncomfortable to use as men (male guests/staff) can come in anytime. The worst let down of this property are the staff - clearly they are not properly trained on how to deal with guests and situations not just junior staffs but the managers too.
Breakfast food choices are basic for Nutella lovers they have Nutella available. You can have your basic eggs: boiled; omelette; scrambled;sunny side up; fried SORRY to disappoint egg Benedict lovers like me - the waiter doesn t have any clue what is an egg Benedict.
This is the cheapest holiday inn in Dubai so if you will be out most of the time and want to save some buck stay here but don t expect too much.
Expect the receptionist to remind you how awful you look though after your long haul flight that s what happened to me and do not expect a cake if you arrived a few days after your birthday but if you do arrived on the day of your birthday DO NOT expect your fruit basket as instead of your welcome fruit basket you will only get your cake in exchange if you are celebrating something on your trip very unusual IHG operation, I tell you.

The disadvantage is narrow and the lack of number of positions and the door between the rooms

Excellent service and staff. The manager Ahmad gave us a special deal and was very co-operative and understanding towards our needs. This hotel is called The Excelsior Downtown now. The kitchen staff at the breakfast buffet were very kind and polite. Service was impeccable. In particular Vijay made sure we were served with extra hot fresh paratas everytime . He also made us feel very comfortable when we requested for anything , he would also make sure that the fruit was refilled always. We were very impressed as he was very professional. The rooftop swimming pool was clean and the showers were all in good condition. The room service was also very efficient. Overall we had a wonderful stay, location is excellent, would recommend to anyone.

His name changed, his new name is Excelsior Downtown Deira Hotel. It's in a very good place. Near Al Rigga Metro Station. The whole staff is very polite. I can only congratulate you. We enjoy our stay here. The only negative thing is that the furnishings of the rooms are old, but you can live with it, and ample of the staff's kindness!

They've got all you want even without asking, great Staffs indeed.

Nice clean rooms and courteous staff...travel desk Mr Joy were very helpful...location of hotel is a great as it close to al rigga metro, plenty retsaurants, and Al ghurair mall...amenities were out of order due to maintenance...has got a nightclub on first floor which is not a regular pub which we expected...

Not a new and modern hotel, it'll be better if they can make the room cleaner, especially the bathtub. However, if your budget is not quite much, still a good option, after all, it provides breakfast and stable wifi, also it's near MRT station.

Hotel is getting old, therefore only 3 stars. However, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool could not be used in my time as it was being renovated. The hotel is very central. The metro is very close.

It's not Holiday Inn. I booked this hotel thinking of Holiday Inn but it's Excelsior Hotel.

The location was convenient to take the metro, find good restaurants for a change, excellent costumer care service from the reception to restaurant and the room services.

Didn't like the place. The hotel is too old. The corridors give a creepy feeling. The pool is very dirty couldn't use it. The entrance smell of cigarettes as the bar is nearby. I would have chosen some other place if I had known before booking this.

Locality is good with quick access to Metro by walk. Lots of eateries and restaurants are available.

Staff is very friendly. The rooms are nice and cosy. The service was excellent.

The worst stay ever. Bad customer service, bad food, run down rooms, stained sheets and loads of false promises during booking that goes down the drain once you check in. Please never ever stay in this place.

One of the oldest hotel in deira more than 20 yrs. It used to be a very busy hotel Now is abit congested and hard to find a parking since its located in the corner road back of rigga the duty manager was a little bit rude

Its a Very old building and had bad odour of polish in the rooms. The carpets have stains in it. The trainee on the reception made me wait half an hour every bit was doing a late check in . The bath tubs and bathroom fittings are dark and looks dirty. I checked out after one day evthough I had a booking for two days.
Kids and me started feelt bit allergic due to the smell in the room. Also this hotel have night club , hence not prefferable for families.

Wonderful Hotel with good customer care and offering best service

As a family we had another excellent stay ,this hotel is a good place with a great location.the staff are amazing.my thanks to Yogi ,zishan and parakash they are very helpful,and a great thanks to the lady staff miss AMINA for her hospitality and her brilliant smile , she is the highlight of this hotel. thank you guys for your service.we are sure that we will come back for you and we will recommend this hotel with amazing persons to our whole family and our friends.thank you.
