Friendly people and well located for visiting Amish
Very dirty. Rooms had bugs in it. The mattress pad had a huge yellow stain (which I assume was pee) and some pink and red stains (looked like juice). The blanket had a hair on it and a lot of red and pink stains. The white sheet set was dingy, thin and worn out and had a weird yellowish hue and also had some stains on it. The only bright light was in the bathroom and the rest of them were very dim. The couches, chairs and the room corners all had crumbs on them. The couch bed already had linen on it and was obviously not cleaned because it was dirty, stained and was very wrinkly. Literally the most disgusting place ever.
Marc Cooper's post: The rooms were filthy. We brought that to the attention of the front desk clerk concerning the toothpaste on the spigots and in the sinks, the caked soap in the shower dish, the dust on the blinds, thinking a thorough cleaning would take place. Nothing changed the next day, the dirt, dust, caked soap and toothpaste were still there. After dropping a bracelet on the carpet we noticed under the bed there were two empty water bottles and an empty gatorade bottle with a sundry of caps. I took all of them up to the front desk and all the clerk said was I will bring it to the attention of the manager. That was all! Not sorry, how can we make it right? Our family will never stay there again.
Fun compound hotel with delightful rooms and a great atmosphere. The breakfast was really good and better than most places we've visited.
Disgusting filthy place, the shower looked like it hasn't been scrubbed in decades, the freezer part un refrigerator had ice built up so much that the main part wasn't getting cold. Owners LIVE there, they don't care about anyone who do not speak their language.
Not sure where anyone would give a rotten review of this hotel. For the price it was lovely and the staff were wonderful and very FRIENDLY and accomodating! I drove over 850 klm and would do it again. No spider webs, no bugs, and CLEAN AS A WHISTLE! For those who are so very fussy and need Immaculate - i suggest you try EMBASSY SUITES! lol
Very nice family hotel very clean excellent food in restaurant next door close to Thomas the Tank Engine
I had an excellent stay. Comfy hotel, great breakfast buffet, helpful staff. Highly recommend.
The hotel's location was both quiet yet convenient as far as being close to shopping, etc. The staff was friendly and they do offer a nice looking hot continental breakfast but I did not eat it so I can not say if it was tasty. The room (#235) was very outdated as far as decor and fixtures but the bedding was nice and "modern". The bed itself was overly bouncy...like the beds from way back in the day. It was clean and had no smells at all, but there were a lot of easy inexpensive fixes that need to be done such as peeling wallpaper, detached cords hanging from the wall, stained and damaged lampshades, holes in the wall where curtain rods used to be and a screw sticking out of the headboard that is very likely to cut someone pretty badly. Also, the bathroom had no exhaust fan so it was uncomfortably humid after a shower and stayed that way for a long time. There is one of those heat lamps in the ceiling but I'm not sure they're meant to help with steam. Didn't help when I turned it on. One more issue, the curbs and walkways are dangerously "wonky". Very easy for someone to trip and fall, especially all the seniors that were there when I was. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to someone as long as they understood that you get what you pay for and if your only priorities are cleanliness and quiet/convenience then this is a good choice.
Hotel needs to be updated and cleaned. Servo e was friendly.
It was a very clean hotel room and the breakfast was great.
A little dated of a place but everything was great. The breakfast was wonderful. The room was clean. We were there for a wedding the ceremony was great. Would recommend this inn
Would be higher but wifi doesnt work in room. Explanation was that it might be the lightning from a few weeks ago? Not a huge deal for some but it is for my 2 kids with tablets.
Nice hotel in the middle of historic Strasburg. Close enough to Lancaster without being on 30
Nice place. Have stayed there several times. Rooms are clean. Not overly priced. Breakfast is good in the morning. We like the restaurant that's on the property too. Convenient location. Hotel across from pharmacy and has station. Also good pizza place within walking distance but it's also eway from all the traffic and tourist areas.
A great place that exceeded what one would expect for a budget brand hotel!
The hotel shows some wear and tear, but the grounds are nicely kept and the staff is super helogul
Best budget hotel that we stayed in. good value. Good location.
Nice hotel for the price. Some sections are a little older, some a little newer. Free breakfast was good. Very much in line with other places with free breakfast. Close to Strasburg Railroad and Sight and Sound. Very nice restaurant is adjoining. Staff was very friendly.
The first thing we encountered when walking into the lobby was a very noxious chemical smell. Not sure if it was floor varnish, bug spray, or some adhesive but it was awful! Our room was dark and musty. I turned the AC all the way up and it was still damp and uncomfortable all night. The beds were clean but not very comfortable. The bathroom was full of mildew and I refused to shower in there. There was a heat lamp but no bathroom exhaust. Rediculius! There is a nice restaurant attached (The fireside Tavern) that we went to and I would recommend. The free breakfast was ok; standard stuff but they also had a waffle maker! I would not return to this hotel, but if you're looking for cheap and clean this is it. Best part, all of the cleaning and breakfast staff were Indian and so very friendly!!!
Great value. Could use updating and deep clean but serves purpose... clean enough... Super friendly staff. Fireside tavern excellent food and great prices.
Clean rooms, very comfy beds! Beautiful historical buildings and lovely grounds. Heard the clip clop of horse hooves as the Amish buggies drive by.
We just love this quaint historic place. Prices are reasonable, employees are friendly and helpful! And the Fireside Tavern nextdoor has great food!
A nice quaint hotel in Amish country. It has a nice free breakfast and clean rooms. There is a workout room and an outdoor pool. We stayed here to go to Dutch Wonderland. It was cheaper than the hotels right next to Dutch Wonderland, and it was only about a 10 minute drive.
Homey room, very nice. Good breakfast bar, friendly staff, reasonable.
Really nice hotel. Room's are nice. The staff is all friendly and helpful.
My second time staying at the Clarion Inn.close to Millennium Theatre and attractions.Nice clean rooms and good breakfast area. Will book it next year....
Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Overall a very pleasant stay.
This hotel isn t even worth one star but I had to give it something to write a review. Walked in and walked right back out. Was in there only long enough to make some phone calls to find another hotel and in that time (less then a hour) I walked out with almost a dozen flea bites on my back from just sitting on the bed. Room had barely any lighting but it was bright enough to see the stains on the pillows and sheets. There were also stains on all the furniture. Patches in the wall that weren t painted. Bathroom was filthy and there was bugs in the shower. The musty cigarette smell was enough to make you sick. Don t trust the pictures or reviews. Horrendous. When we complained at the front desk the lady didn t seem phased at all. She just told us to have a nice day...
Had a great time at the Clarion. Happy they accept dogs.
Ok. Love the area, great room. King, with Jacuzzi.
Not bad. Reasonably clean and the room is nice. Room does smell slightly strange though, but not a terrible smell. Internet connection isn't amazing either, i got 1.5Mbps down.
Kind of a funky old hotel, but beds were great, and rooms clean. Good breakfast. I've spent my life in hotels, so beelieeve... Wow, and if you're here for Lancaster county attractions, this is the place. Here you will LITERALLY go back in time! Haha
Very comfortable, nice and clean. Courteous staff and full breakfast. There's an excellent restaurant located on the premises. They also have a nice outdoor pool. It is located about 5 minutes from Sight and Sound Theater. I will definitely be staying here next time I come out here.
Very clean, old style but in very good shape...well located....good breakfast, with a very nice restaurant Fireplace located next door...very friendly and helpful personal...very informative on attractions and locations...enjoyed our stay...
VERY nice room! Clerk at the desk: friendly, informative and knowlegable! WILL come back again!
The place was incredible will go back again...staff was extremely friendly...rooms are great
Everything was good just a little high priced for one night
How many times during this survey are you going to ask the same questions...no entrance sign to hotel and no room numbers posted on the walls to tell you where to go.
Room was very nice, clean, staff was friendly. Gym didn't have much equipment, but was well kept and clean. Breakfast was good.
Second holiday season staying here and its overall satisfying. The front desk women are hit or miss not the kindest people around. The housekeepers are not nice either, other than that my fiance and I had a nice time this year and last year.
Rundown and very dirty. Nice location and decent service but unfortunately that is being wasted on a deteriorating and filthy building. Black mold in the showers, toilet paper holders coming out of the walls, layers of dust everywhere. Would not stay again.
A little disappointed with the Clarion Inn. Our room was not cleaned at checkin, but they did upgrade us to a suite. Breakfast was pretty good. So I guess it was ok
Coffee maker in room was broken but other than that this place is AWESOME
Nothing to not like . Clean rooms, wonderful staff, grounds are beautiful, breakfast was great !!! And priced just right. Extended my stay thats how much i enjoyed it ! Will return!!
Nice location nice building good breakfast bar next door love it
Very nice and clean hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much. Friendly staff except for the parking situation. There is a tavern next door. Everyone was coming over to the hotel parking lot and parking there leaving no room for the guests staying at the hotel to park. Other than that it is a very nice place to stay.
An historic inn, comprised of five buildings set on an acreage of rolling hills, this complex has the potential to become a scenic, attractive facility. Currently it is not.
We paid extra for what was advertised as a room with a scenic view of the surrounding country side. The corner room was very large and was on the ground floor. It had three windows on the long wall and one on the short. Out of the first two windows beside the bed, all that could be seen was an 8' high and 12' wide electrical transformer. The next window offered a nice view until trucks and trailers were parked in front of it (from 3 pm until 8 am both days we were there). The remaining end window offered a view of a busy street.
The bed was very comfortable but the chesterfield and chair were extremely old, dilapidated and uncomfortable. One of the lamp shades was absolutely filthy. After running the hot water for close to 15 minutes, the water was barely warm, certainly not warm enough for a shower. The bath tub was very old and badly stained.
The complimentary breakfast was better than many other facilities we have staid in. Taking the long walk to where it was served sure worked up an appetite.
The parking area was a long walk from the room and the entry way to the building was anything but attractive.
It was early spring when we were there, but there was very little in the way of attractive garden areas or areas set aside for shrubs, flowers, etc.
Needs some updating. It is clean, quiet, and convenient. Staff is very friendly.
Excellent hotel with good location and great service
Great basic lodging option..all amenities were fine ...they have a great breakfast too.
This is a quaint old hotel. If you want to get away from the traffic and the cookie cutter chain hotels on route 30 this is the place for you. It is minutes away from the outlet mall and the other attractions in and around Lancaster. The rooms were clean. The fitness room is closed due to Covid-19. The normal continental breakfast has been discontinued when we were there also due to restrictions from Covid-19.
Room was clean and comfy and the breakfast was great!
Very Nice Place to stay. The Excellent Discount we received on our suite very nice.
Friendly Staff in classic style Hotel. Room are large good and the bed was clean and fresh. The shower was not. We stayed in the 1200 building which is a little rough in the hallways and not ADA accesible. As the sign says leave your bags in the car there are several separate buildings that are hard to navigate in the dark. I would stay here again.
I called this hotel to book an extended stay in June, when we are at a nearby hospital for treatment for my daughter. This hotel came recommended by the hospital. Upon calling, the lady who answered the phone sounded like she smoked 2 packs a day for 40 years. Not only was she rude and unhelpful, she called me a liar for saying I received the contact info from the hospital. I work in customer service myself, and I know that you can not always please te customer. However, it is not okay to be incredibly rude and act like it was a huge ordeal to even take my phone call. Luckily, I called the Holiday Inn up the street from this place and they gladly accommodated my stay, with a hospital discount. I will be contacting the hospital to recommend that they give patients the information for Holiday Inn, instead of this place.
It's not a positive experience when you are dead tired and are sent out to find your room in one of 4+ buildings with a lousy map and little help from one single clerk. Then, the keys didn't work. Boo!!!!
I liked the room, but the housekeeping could have been better. There were places not cleaned in awhile.
Beautiful, very welcoming. I have pets that I travel with and even my room was very nice, clean. I travel alot to that area and I will 100% go back.
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Off the main roads, but convenient to everything, including Sight & Sound Theater, Hersey's Restaurant, outlets, downtown Strasburg (visit Allegro winery). Staff was wonderful. Full hot breakfast was great. Will definitely stay here again.
Good, clean hotel. We had our pet with us, and they were able to accommodate us. The price was right and the free breakfast was great. We will stay there again :)
Comfortable, Clean and Friendly. Great place to stay. Best coffee too.
We loved staying at the inn. It was quiet, clean and staff was friendly.
Very accommodating, friendly staff, clean rooms. Amazing rates. Thanks so kindly.
I gave it one star because the breakfast was very good. The room however is a different story. First when we arrived the room was fridged. It was 27 degrees outside and no one put the heat on. I turned it on at 4:05 pm, went out to dinner and do some exploring. We returned about 7:30 and the room was still cold. My wife went to take a bath in the not so clean bathroom. When she finished it took over an hour to drain the water. We used to stay here when it was the Historic Strasburg Inn. At that time this was an ideal hotel. I would have given 5 stars. Now I will never return again. What a disgrace.
