I wouldn't recommend this place as it seems housekeeping has taken a turn for the worse here. Upon arrival my room reeked and had a musty smell and go figure shortly before my departure i found a bug in the bathroom, unfortunately for me i had no idea what kind it was until i looked it up later on at home the internet & it turned out to be a bedbug. So on that note, unless you want to share a room with bed bugs and or spend your visit in a musty dusty room, i would keep looking or book another motel in the area

This is a lovely hotel out in the country area so it is nice and quiet. The rooms are adorable but they are a little small. We had a single room with a double bed. The bed was comfortable and the water in the shower was nice and hot. Breakfast was good, your usual scrambled eggs, sausage (sometimes bacon too), and seasoned potatoes. They have waffles of course, and all different kinds of pastries and bread to choose from. Fresh fruit. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. Coffee is good and like I said, fresh. The staff here is wonderful and very kind. I would definitely recommend this hotel, even for an extended stay. If you have an appetite I would suggest making the drive over to Yoder's Restaurant & Buffet - 14 Tower Rd. New Holland. They have great food!

The motel had bed bugs. I discovered them as I was checking out. Unbelievable! I called the front desk and was told that this motel does not have bed bugs. I said I have pictures and the front desk clerk referred me to the managers voicemail. My phone call has never been returned. You would think a motel manager would care to know that a room has bed bugs so they can tend to the matter to prevent other guests from being exposed. The room was dingy and the bathroom moldy, but i guess you get what you pay for.

Stayed there for 2 nights with my church group. It was nice if you are looking for just the basics of a hotel. No complaints. The breakfast, which was included, was wonderful. Made our own Belgin waffles.

This is a beautiful, quiet, quaint hotel. The rooms are huge, beds pillowy soft, separate shower & toilet room with a door, two sinks & a walk-in closet. Flat screen TV, microwave & fridge, workdesk & separate bureau. The lobby is GORGEOUS, leather couches & scrumptious decor, and the front desk gal that helped me was a gem! An incredible value, with a full HOT breakfast - not a ' continental' one. Mature trees & landscaping, with a large gazebo beside a large manicured lawn complete the beautiful picture.

The rooms were very nice, and the property is beautiful. I do feel the smoking areas can be a bit closer to the building since it's winter and extremely cold to walk that far for a square before bed. Otherwise it was a lovely stay.

I have been coming to this hotel for thirty years, as a child with my parents and grandparents, and now with my parents and my children. I remember this hotel at its peak, it's been hard to watch the property get divided, it's good to see some improvement this year, please take good care of this charming property.

Lydia the apparent manager is an awful person. Last week we were able to book a room with our dogs, but this week we can t because we are locals??? Locals who are moving to another part of the state may I add! Over 100 miles away and needed a place to stay while our new home was being ready. Money good enough last week clearly this week is an issue. Never ever we will use this hotel again ! Disgusting customer service from someone who calls themself a manager!

This is at least the 25th night we've spent here over the years. Its clean, quiet, great breakfast. Great service, near to attractions. We come here twice a year and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Been there twice and awesome experience .

Very good hotel. Great, clean and comfortable rooms. A very nice outdoor.
The hot breakfast is awesome. Plenty to chose from. The staff is very courteous and friendly.
It's in a great location from places like Dutch wonderland, Amish farms, ice cream creamery, plenty of restaurant and stores and many other entertainment.

This place is so beautiful! The views from the garden are stunning! It was clean. There's a lot to do in the area. Nice sauna, gym and pool. The second floor doesn't have an elevator so keep that in mind if you have someone with you that can't do stairs. We'll definitely be back!

We spent a Friday and Saturday weekend there for my daughter's wedding. The venue was amazing and coordinated everything smoothly. The food was amazing and the rooms were homey and clean. If you want shiny, new and impersonal don't stay here. The free breakfast was a bonus. We received so many complements from the over 50 rooms occupied by friends and family. We will be back!

Absolutely filthy room and not at all worth price that was paid for accommodations. Thought hotel would be good because of proximity to Strasburg, but complete disappointment. Considered taking up smoking even though they would have charged $150 just so they would actually clean the room. Hair was literally everywhere, the room smelled like a wet dog, insect skins were on the bed (not bed bugs), and black mold was rampant on the air conditioner to the point you didn't want to use the air. There was a big event in area so we could not move hotels without going a far distance. Next time will reserve room in the hotel in the same parking lot or in Lancaster which is surprising close. The Clarion Inn could be a great hotel if it was remodeled with more of a boutique hotel vibe, but suspect it would have to spiral into a lot worse filth and degradation before any change occurs. Recommend avoiding for now. Post done September 30, 2019

Cheapest price for a hotel room in the Lancaster PA area. Got a room through priceline.com for $55. The place is enormous, and in a quiet, non-congested location unlike many of the other hotels/motels around. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly. Nice little pool for the kids to splash about in. Restaurant on premises. Free hot breakfast was ok, some of the food wasn't kept hot. The walls are thin, so had to listen to a bit of late night noise, but otherwise a great place to stay inexpensively when visiting Amish Country.

Stayed at the Clarion in Strasburg, PA. The grounds and the bathrooms need help. Otherwise, still a nice place. Breakfast needed to be hotter by it was satisfactory. Would stay there again if they would address these issues.

We had 3 issues at this hotel. Overall nice hotel but we were overcharged by almost $50, the A/C was not working properly and the safe was inoperative. All issues were correct in a timely manner and to my satisfaction. The issue that was most disturbing was the cleanliness of the room, bugs and my daughter coming home with lice. The fitness center was very nice to include a sauna. The breakfast bar was great, wide selection of items, hot and cold, and convenient hours 7am-10am. Pool is nice.

The room was ok. The beds, and pillows were comfortable. The linens were clean however I can't say the same for the rest of the room. The carpets were visibly dirty especially the baseboards. There was thick dust on top of the electric baseboard heat units. The bathtub and shower had flaking white paint which came off when you showered. When I bathed my daughter the paint chips stuck to her and had to be rinsed off. I would not stay here again unless there were no other reasonable options. The price and location are nice.

This is the second time we stayed here. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I just wish our room was on the second floor with a better view. The breakfast was very limited due to COVID but it was alright. I would stay here again when we come back to Lancaster

Nice rooms, beautiul landscaping in the back. Breakfast was AWESOME! Only complaint is its non smoking with designated areas, but there is no notification of where you can smoke. Everything else is wonderful

Unexpected gem. Spotlessly clean rooms, a very friendly front desk, very comfortable beds and a great hot shower. It's very quiet tucked away from the main strip in Lancaster and the tavern next door serves great drinks and excellent food. I really can't recommend this lodging enough.

I want to thank the staff for a pleasant stay. The grandkids enjoyed the pool, the breakfast buffet was awesome, and the room was clean. The upgrades done in the older part of the hotel could use a little cosmetic repair work done. All in all we all had a wonderful time and hubby and I are thinking about coming back next month. Thanks again!

Our room was very musty smelling and dirty (needed vacuuming and dusting and the shower has mildew on it). Carpet needed to have steam cleaning bc of odor. We didn't try the breakfast. The staff was very pleasant and offered to change our room, since we were settled already we just had housekeeping clean the shower. The beds were very comfortable and very clean.
We stayed only one night instead of three. Maybe our room was one without updates , but it definitely needed a serious cleaning.

Definitely highly recommend. This is a historic building so no elevator but very well renovated and redone. Very clean and comfortable. Absolutely no complaints about my stay this past month. Will be back next month. Breakfast is very good and lots of options.

Didn t like that much of a look of the hotel as we stayed there these past few days. A lot of cobwebs were on the windows & blinds as my parents were staying in their particular room & we had loads of insects in our room also. The place is in poor shape & next time we do go to Lancaster, PA, we re not gonna book this place again.

The room was surface clean, but old. The carpet is stained and the shower has mildew stains on the grout, but otherwise clean. The blinds were dusty. The bed is of average comfort. The staff was nice and accommodating at check-in. I felt comfortable staying here, but it isn't the quality I expect from a Clairion property. With that I must state that I have only stayed (multiple times) at the Clairion in Ocean City, Maryland, therefore, I can only attest to the service and accommodations at that location, which by the way are phenomenal. I probably would not stay at the Strasburg location again, because the price is too high for the quality of the room.

I loved it the staff was very nice can't wait to go back . Room was a great size for my 20 month old daughter . There was still a lot of room left with 2 queen size beds plus my daughter's pack and play .

Overall, my stay here was pretty mediocre. Breakfast was pretty good and some furniture seemed to be new. There are some bad things about the room I stayed in. I have found mold in the shower head (which is a common complaint here) and in the shower curtain. The toilet paper holders here broken and could easily break off the wall. The room was a little dim even with all the lights on. The AC unit and microwave were also pretty dirty. But for $70, this is decent.

Quaint. We booked this hotel because it was off the main drag and pretty from the outside, it was unique and different. It is a historic property with older brick and wood style buildings, like a little campus. However, it was just that, old, not updated, smelled musty, and our room was dirty or lights were broken, the place was barely being held together. We even changed rooms and ultimately we left (without being charged) as quickly as we got there and went to the brand new Holiday Inn Express immediately next door. We wanted the Clarion because it had real suites with a separate bedroom and a real living room, which would have been perfect for our children to have slept in, but the smell and disgusting bathtub was too much. The staff were friendly and understanding, but they just said it was the way it was because it was an historic property. Not quite, we stayed at The Settler's Inn in Hawley, PA the week before built in 1920 and it was gorgeous. It's a matter of maintenance, money invested and pride in upkeep.

Very dirty room!To say we were disappointed with our room would be an understatement. Dead bugs, and a piece of glass on the floor. Water damaged walls and woodwork, heat that didn't work and a chicken bone( I'm assuming) also on the floor. More

A hidden gem! Very friendly staff. Quaint rooms. The overnight staff at the front desk is awesome. We got in very late and she made everything so simple. Had a wonderful night and plan to come back for a longer stay in the future.

The location is perfect for all things train. There is nothing about this inn in particular that would justify the amount they charge per night. The room was tolerable, but seemed in need of a makeover. Mix matched furniture and patched up walls are more reminiscent of 1 star hourly motels and not worthy of the rates they have. Definitely wont return and would not have stayed this one night if i would have done better research.

Room smelled like urine and had hair all over. Stayed because they're pet friendly, but when the pet rooms aren't cleaned it turns into not being people friendly. To top that off, the beds aren't comfortable and we could hardly sleep. Rooms and amenities are old and need serious work, especially for costing over $100 to stay one night. Should have asked for our money back.

Lovely spot! Really liked the high ceilings in our 2nd floor room. Breakfast was surprisingly good, at a lot of hotels you run into soggy little knobs of eggs but somebody here is putting the effort in! Well seasoned and flavorful.

Rooms really need upgrading. Rather shabby and dark. Booked a suite but the sitting area was taken up by this oversized Jacuzzi with sides so high it would have been hard to climb in and out. As we were too tired from driving didn't want the hassle of changing rooms for just 1 night. Refrigerator in room needed defrosting as the small freezer compartment was almost solid ice. Needed it for ice packs. Not enough attention to details by management.

Unfortunately no elevator, but the rooms are spacious, and having a rocking chair on my balcony is awesome. There a different buildings for the hotel, and each one seems to have a different name so I'm not sure if there are room differences per "House" but I really like the one I'm in, behind the pool.
