Anytime in Kentucky, visiting and staying at Boon Tavern in Berea has been a pleasure to look forward to for the last 30+ years.

Now with kids and grandchildren in Atlanta and Berea half way, we do make sure to make time to taste the best Kentucky has to offer. Another round trip coming soon for the New Year 2013 celebration.

Great historic hotel. This is the place memories are made and cherished. Food is out of this world awesome. The list of famous persons that have stayed is endless. The rooms are super clean and very updated. Very quiet. I Love the fact you have a real key to the room instead of those cheap cards. The staff, especially Joshua, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Recommended several things to do and see as well as places to go inthe area. Joshua was able to provide and expand on history and questions that i had absorbed and asked. Always greeted with a smile, taken care of with 5star/white glove service. It shows that he goes the extra mile to know his guests, remember what was said and talked about and genuinely care that your stay and trip is the very best it could be. Ifyou have the opportunity to stop in or stay, you must..... You will not be sorry and like me, you will hopefully carry on a family tradition of visiting or make it a tradition.

My husband and grandson and I just left the dining room at the hotel. My husband had the steak special....a strip steak. He didn't say anything until after we left and then he said it was the toughest steak he has ever tried to eat. The waiter failed to bring a steak knife which I am sure made it more difficult. At $28 for the steak, he had expected much better. Our granddog should enjoy the leftovers. It took about 45 minutes to get our food and none of it was very warm when it arrived. During our wait I drank all of my water and resorted to drinking my grandson's as well. More water was eventually offered but it was way too late. My fried green tomatoes salad was a nice change of pace and very tasty. My grandson ordered the kid's cheeseburger with mayonnaise. The waiter disappeared to get the mayonnaise and after several minutes of waiting I found the kitchen to ask for some mayonnaise from anyone I saw. The waiter returned with it, saying they couldn't find any.... really? If this establishment is for training...as I had heard it is... I wanted to share our less than enjoyable dining experience so that improvements can be made. The dining room was not crowded at all so I don't know what the problems were. I hope this helps you correct them for future guests.

Stopped by for Sunday brunch, hostess seated right when we arrived. We sat at our table for over 5 minutes before our server showed up with two glasses of water and we never seen him again for the rest of our meal. The food was OK but the dessert here is what makes the place. For what it costs and what I got this will be my last time here. One time was good enough.

Nice hotel but small room.Hotel resturant is a charming old world dinning room. The crab stuffed flounder was very nice as were the fried green tomaotoes and the steak. Devilled eggs lacked spice and the hot sauce was too sweet for my liking.

We stayed here for a scrapbooking retreat and everything was amazing. From the coffee shop and restaurant to the rooms, housekeeping and definitely the events and front desk staff--- everyone was super amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! We will be back soon!

Great historic accommodations. Food was fantastic. They know how to do vegetarian and make it tasty. One thing I noticed is that all the plants were bone dry and one was visibly wilted. Doesn't send a good message when a place can't take care of its potted plants. But staff was friendly and accommodating.

Sunday brunch. Roast beef delicious. Bacon delicious. Sausage patties dry. Omelet was good. Dirty rice delicious. Red Velvet cake a disappointment. German chocolate cake was good. None of the cakes were as moist as I like, but not dry either. No pancakes or waffles a disappointment. The table was uncomfortably low. It wasn t terribly busy but my party of five was put at a table of four and I had to sit in a high traffic aisle. A couple of near misses as I backed out to get up from the table. $20 per person + tip.

We were in Berea for college graduation. The staff here were incredibly helpful. We wanted some water bottles and the vending machine wasn't working. The front desk gave us four bottles without charge. My husband needed to iron his shirt and there wasn't an ironing board or iron in the room. We passed a young man in the hallway and asked where we could get one, and he said he would be happy to take one to our room, which he did immediately. Our party had reservations in the restaurant after graduation, and our meals were incredible! The filet mignon was delicious. One member of our party had the pork chop meal, and the sauce was wonderful. Desserts were also great, including the bourbon bread pudding. We were a little disappointed that the delicious looking chocolate cake that was pictured in the elevator as an advertisement for the restaurant wasn't available. Other than that, the weekend was perfect! Highly recommend Boone Tavern. We will definitely return.

You will not find a more historic, comfortable hotel than Boone Tavern anywhere in America. It is right off Interstate 75 (I-75). Convenient yet just outside larger hotel markets like Lexington (40 miles away) the price of a lovely room is extremely reasonable. We paid only $75! The customer service is amazing and the dining room is upscale and beautiful. In my experience, they have always been a consistently excellent choice.

An unexpected find on a drive through Kentucky. The Tavern is beautiful, filled with history, warm polished wood and authentic pieces of art. The food was amazing. Huge portions, great flavors and stellar service. We'll absolutely be back!

I stopped by Historic Boone Tavern to get a feel for the place, hoping it would be a landmark my mom might like to visit on our upcoming southern tour ... and I fell in love with it.

Accessible, charming, clean ... and true to period ideas without being under their yoke, I had a chance to check out all the common areas, view photos of their rooms, and get schooled on their local attractions.

The staff was polite and helpful and the atmosphere in general was warm, welcoming, and tidy ... without smelling overwhelmingly of cleaning products or the typical flowery scents.

The broad wrap around porch lined with rocking chairs screams (or drawls) full-on Southern charm. The parking is easy and includes access ramps. Stately trees provide shade. And much of the fine arts and crafts offerings are within walking distance, as well as some highly reviewed restaurants ... in case the Inn's rotating, fresh chef's specials don't inspire.

Can't wait to try out this place, especially since the nightly rates begin under the 100 dollar mark. So ... save me a rocker, would you?

Came for Sunday brunch and was very disappointed with the quality of the food in comparison to the regular menu. The staff, however, were incredibly kind and provided great service.

The lunch at the restaurant was very good. I had the pulled pork sliders. It was very interesting to read about the tavern hotel, the college that runs it, and its mission. Our servers, who are students at the college, were very nice and attentive. After our lunch, we took some time to walk around the area and see what else the college offers. Overall it was an unexpected and enjoyable experience as we were traveling through Kentucky.

Food was ok, (personal preference I believe), service was excellent, way above normal, price was a tad bit high for quality of taste ( again, personal preference ) probably won't be back due to personal preferences.

This is my halfway point to MI. The staff is always friendly and very accommodating. The rooms are, always very clean. I love the fact you have real glasses and coffee cups in your room. I never hear any other guest nice, peaceful, a joy to stay here.

Very nicely restored historic building, very well maintained. Great service in the hotel and restaurant. The restaurant is fine dining at casual food prices. Don't miss the Big Brown, it's amazing. Come early for dinner, last seating is at 7:30. Full bar with great bourbon drinks.

I only rented the room to get layed and I let her sTay. The place was great a little expensive for the room and her cause she wasn't worth the twenty I spent on her but the rooms was great and private. When you want to be discrete here's the place where you can go guys.

Customer service was bar to none! I felt like the only guest. The rooms are very clean and the restaurant is a must! One thing... the building is old so you have hear people walking above you at night. I heard my upstairs neighbor from 8PM all the way to 6AM when I woke up but I slept just fine. So if you re a light sleeper and you re under someone who sleep walks (I guess) you may need to plan.

Beautiful hotel, very quant. Clean and nice room. If I were staying for more than one day I would like a small cooler in the room...but that's me. Helpful staff. The restaurant was very pricey for what you got. The 30 dollar steak would have been overpriced at 15. It was'nt terrible but I've had much better for much less. I would suggest eating elsewhere.
