The first thing that turned us off about the whole Hilton experience was the service and the behavior of the staff. The second thing is the location. This was our first visit to Queenstown hence we own the fault for not realizing how far from the city this is. Plus in rush hour it can take up to 45 mins to reach any restaurants. The pool was ok. The room was ok. Service was better at a lodge that we stayed at, it had similar rooms and nice views of the mountain as well.
Its amazing experience here .. i am doing my internship here.. The whole staff is very good, helpful and cooperative .. i wish that i can work here in my future's after completing my studies
Nice spacious rooms with friendly, helpful staff. Was pretty disappointed in the buffet breakfast, it was less than average with cold rubbery food. Disappointed to discover the bar/restaurant wouldn't serve food after 9pm even though it says its open until 10pm. The stacks pub was also shut at 10pm even though it says its open until "late" and the pub was full. Room service was a bit slow, taking 40mins to deliver 2 cold drinks. Also the parking situation is a bit inconvenient
Really enjoyed our stay, well looked after by staff
Great resort. So much value for the money. Great view. Boat from Queenstown. A bit confusing around levels but so good. Definitely go here.
Brilliant! The best view in the world match with superb service.
It is too opaque to be able to see the pool water. At the spa pool, the dirt is floating.
Fantastic place. Absolutely fabulous. Great food and excellent service.
Love the view and hotel! So much fun wish I had stayed longer!
Very good ... only negative parking paid and not on site
The room an facilities are great. However there's limited free parking and I felt rushed when checking in. The person who checked us in hardly have any information about the hotel.
Absolutely amazing service! All staff so friendly and helpful. Upgrade to the breakfast package! So much food in the buffet from bacon and eggs to museli to pancakes to the fruit and pastry station. So many times the staff went out of their way for us. Once to bring my kids a DVD player with a selection of movies so we could have a relaxing night in the room. Honestly amazing!!!
Cannot thank the staff at Hilton Queenstown enough. We were on honeymoon and it was made special in every way. Thank you for the upgrade! Would highly recommend this spot. It is a little further out from Queenstown but easily accessible by the water taxi. Amazing spot!
That was the best room we had. Lovely bedroom. Loved the fire place. Very nice bathroom and we have enjoyed the view lake.
An underwhelming experience, far below my expectations of a Hilton hotel. I have been managing hotels for most of my working life, for brands such as Sofitel and Marriott and I expect service when I am a client. From check-in at 5pm instead of 3pm to an impersonal check-out when not even a mention of "how was your stay?" was spared, nothing good can be said. Our room was a "deluxe 2 bedrooms apartment with expansive views", in fact it was a studio with a light partition between the rooms offering no privacy and the room being recessed in the building, the view was truncated. Very claustrophobic.
Everything is being charged extra (wi-fi, room service, parking) which would be fine if the service was given. Calling reception or restaurant was a lengthy experience. In my time, three rings was standard. The room was not vacuumed and sheets not changed for the entire week. Going to the pub, tables were empty (reserved) for most of the evening so we were refused. I booked a Hilton hotel because I wanted professional service. I will know better next time and just stay in AirBnB. At least I'll know what to expect.
Rooms were very well designed but probably needs a refresh to meet the 5 star rating.
Really enjoyed our stay, nice quiet environment, friendly staff, on site restaurant was great
Love this hotel.Amazing spa treatments & massage..felt like a princess being here
This is our 2nd time and we stayed for 3nights and enjoyed with my family.
But compared to last time wasnt as good as last time.
1 I found one slipper by the bed
2 Cups in the room weren't clean(coffee or tea stain in the bottom of cups)
3 Freezer wasn't clean properly(Fridge was clean)
4 outside chairs weren't clean(Old bird poos were on them so couldnt sit down)
5 The bottom of closet Mirror was dirty
6 The picture on the wall above the desk had something black thing that looked like bird poo(I didnt want to look it closely)
7 Hilton hotel used to provide toothbrush but no this time
8 Whenever i put shampoo etc that you provided at hotel on shower soap holder,
everything was falling off from that.
Should change shower soap holder otherwise nowhere to put them on so i had to pick them up whenever i put them on there.
These are tiny things but compared to last time less cleanliness this time.
We really enjoyed breakfast and good options.
Great hospitality by waitresses!
Next time i wish they provide "banana" "Rice" "Soup" "iced coffee" etc
My 15months old daughter slipped in the bathtub, shower room.
And Cried a lot.
Hopefully next time Hotel provides non slip mat for little one too.
Anway, thanks to Team Hilton
we enjoyed staying for 3nights.
Perfect hotel in a great location. While not in town the views here are amazing and its a nice quiet location. You can get a paid boat taxi to Queenstown or the free hotel shuttle which you need to book. Both the spa suites and 2 bed apartments are lovely. The pool area is perfect and the water warm. The Saunas were out of order for a week which was a little disappointing
Friendly staff, high quality fittings and fixtures. However, for a five star hotel and supposedly a deluxe Lakeview room, it was a little disappointing. We were actually one building away from the lake in a fairly small room, no cooking facilities or crockery etc. Also the place is huge, and you can spend quite a long time getting used to how to find your room! Very expensive extras, parking $16 a day, etc. Better value in Queenstown elsewhere.
Have not stayed at Hilton Queenstown but have visited many times for different reasons. Have a nasty view for a surprising large amount of rooms (concrete retaining wall) the lobby is poorly lit and often found staff to be distant and dismissive. On one occasion I walked around lobby area for nearly 10min before a staff member approached and asked if I needed help which has never happened to me in a five star or even four star hotel.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.
I understand that it is a difficult time for the hospitality sector, with covid-19 and the limited number of hotel patrons at present, but we were booked for Queen's birthday weekend and the lack of service towards all the holidayer's on this day was very, very disappointing. It isn't nice to see the lack of effort that the Hilton has in regards to their local (New Zealanders).
We had to wait in line for check-in for 30mins, then after we paid for our room they said that there would be a short wait for our room to be ready, but they would contact us. An hour later we had not heard from anyone at all so we decided to line up at customer service again and ask for a full refund. Upon getting to the desk, not much was offered to remedy our sub-par experience so far, apart from being offered a later check out, which one would think would cause the exact same problems for the next day when holidayer's attempted to check-in to their room.
We were not the only ones in the lobby fed up with the lack of service and the long wait, we even overheard one couple talking to the Manager about their room view being obstructed, even though they asked for a Lakeview room, and it was very messy -as if the cleaner had not been able to finish their job.
For a high-end hotel this is most definitely appalling and quite frankly not acceptable.
To make matters worse I have still not been refunded my money, even though they were able to take the money out of my account immediately.
The location was nice with lots of amenities. We enjoyed being able to rent electric bikes and hopping right on a bike path. We very much enjoyed the free shuttle service into town as well. Breakfast was delicious as well. Our only complaint was there was a lack of communication somewhere and had to remind the hotel we had 3 people for breakfast and it was included (we booked through a travel agent and purchased breakfast with each place we stayed ahead of time).
Lucky to be upgraded..had a wonderful view and the fire was lovely.. beautiful for a special week with husband..I do recommend however driving yourself around Queenstown as PT isn't as accessible.
The place was excellent with good service. The room was big and spacious. Bathroom had a big shower and a nice tub to soak in..
4 stars because parking is difficult with a limited number of available space in the parking lot. Had to park at the top of the steep hill..
The view is gorgeous and the staff is very friendly! Had a wonderful time here and also exploring the area!
Nice view of the lake and just a 5 minute drive from the airport
Great service and a wonderful room with a view of the lake.
Beautiful hotel in a perfect spot by the lake just far enough out of town. Friendly and helpful staff. 100% recommend and we will be back!
The hotel was amazing .
The location is perfect , although it's not in the heart of queenstown . It allows you to see the views as your driving down to the shops .
The room was very clean the staff was very nice and the over all experience was amazing highly recommend to stay at this hotel
Awesome place, fantastic staff, super helpful and lovely.
There is a large fireplace in the room with a private pool and there is plenty of atmosphere. The dinner was delicious but it took a long time. There are few types of breakfast and the taste is not good, and the difference with dinner is large. The front desk is friendly and there is a staff who can speak Japanese. Although location is bad, if the weather is good for that, starry sky can be seen.
The room was excellent, staff were very accommodating thought the entire stay. They have a deal with the water taxis where it only costs $5 to go into town (about $40 for a taxi) which is fantastic and you can't beat the views. Never stayed at a place anything like this before, the Hilton have set an extremely high standard.
Great, loved our stay. Lake side location very well appointed. Pleasant professional staff.
Not up to expectations. The spa is paid and in my opinion at this point you can find much better in Queenstown. I would not go back
Expected a lot more from a 5-Star Hilton hotel. Clean, well-maintained and a good lake view, but door got jammed and had to go back to reception 3 times (they had to call a maintenance guy and offered a complimentary drink voucher at a pub which was just outside the hotel) and the housekeeping service was not done even though requested before heading out.
I wish I could have stayed our whole 2 weeks at this resort it was the best of our trip with amazing views and a hot tub on our deck.
Highly recommend staying here. It was quiet when we were there due to Covid-19 decimating the market but it is my go to place in ZQN.
Wakatipu Grill has excellent food, Stacks is good for a few beers and with a water taxi to down town then what can go wrong?
Definitely not a 5 star! And don't call it resort! It's just a block of apartments with standard rooms. Last time we stayed in Mecurie Resort. That is far better than this one eventhough it is only a 3 star.
Staying here for two nights. Already changed a room, booked a lake view room. Anyone would expect more than what these rooms can offer.
We are staying in a room with tiny cockroaches. Scary for our little one.
terrible service, dirty rooms, pool, restaurant and terrible food
Good room and friendly staff. The pool area could be improved and as well as the cleanliness. Also the gym was a joke.
Very nice double bed and faux fire place. Views are average for the price though. I was expecting bay views for nearly $300 a night
Love this place! Booked a room on Lakeside and can wake up to that view everyday! Will be super sad to leave, can't wait to come back!
Amazing Stay!!
Lovely Hotel, friendly staff& awesome experience all in One. Thank you Hilton Queenstown for making our stay a very special & memorable one
Very professional staff and luxurious stay. Was immediately spoilt when I got there as our rooms weren't ready so was provided free beverages at the bar. Room was clean and immaculate. Facilities were clean and tidy. Not far from Queenstown CBD which is great.
Very good place to stay. Went in winters and was mesmerised by the beauty at the door step. Its nature at its best in the comfort of the luxury!
Had an amazing stay at the resort. Rooms are good and spacious. We had the one with a balcony. The pool area is well heated and amazing pool, steam and sauna.
** Overpriced ** DIRTY Bathroom ** Staff Doesn't Care About Any FEEDBACK from Guests, Even The General Manager ** LOTS of people BELOW gave this Place an (( ONE Star )) !!
NO REPLY, NO ANSWER, NO CONTACT ?????
What a JOKE for a " 5 Stars Hotel " !!
==============================
Travelling with two young children we booked a month prior to ensure an early check in knowing we had an early flight.
When we arrived our room wasn t ready so we went to the restaurant. The service was so slow that after over 45 minute wait we had to leave and get food elsewhere.
When we went to recheck in that afternoon the reception tried to upsell us into a bigger room because our room still wasn t ready.
This place is a joke, we have had better service at a camp ground!
To be honest, being a Hilton is a bit disappointing, perhaps because the expectations are too high. If it is not the top suite, the scenery outside the window will be more general. There is a free swimming pool and gym available. Of course, the facilities in the house are still very comfortable and the service is thoughtful.
Looks very modern and new. Situated on a private land.
Service orientated staff. Lovely views from the hotel room. Spacious room.
Nice stay, beautiful scenery, good & variety breakfast menu
Used this hotel as a launching pad for driving the south side of the island. Great location on the water lake (name?). Two nights worth. Good price and about $100 US a night.
I picked a lake view guest room and this was more than enough for me. Liked how the tub and shower were separated. Parking was $16 NZ a day but no big deal.
A lot of amenities that I didn't use but they are here.
Served its purpose and no complaints.
The hotel is new and very beautiful. The place is not good and I feel inconvenient very far from the airport with a rental car. There are no shops in the area, and it is very dark and scary at night, so you can't walk. You can get a water taxi to the city but it costs $ 10 one way. Since my husband drinks, I can't go to restaurants in the city by car. The breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel was not really good so I couldn't expect it at night. After all, I bought food at a supermarket near the airport and ate it in my room. The area around the Hilton is very simple and feels lonely at night. Next time, I will make a hotel near the city.
I am a diamond member, but I didn't upgrade and my late checkout was rejected. A Hilton that has never been rejected is a very difficult one to think of
A bit dated but good value and good location. Expensive over school holidays but reasonable afterwards. Short drive to Queenstown or catch the ferry. Nice views.
Clean, modern, great views, but located out of the main Queenstown area, so not ideal
This was our first time staying at Hilton, and I can say that they try to rip you off as much as possible! Parking was chargeable which was a disappointment considering the high prices for a standard room. Rooms were ok, however there was no drinking water in the room, when asked I was told it is $5 per bottle, and if I dont want to pay for it, I can drink the water from the bathroom. Stayed at multiple resorts and hotels around the world, this is the first time I have been asked to pay for drinking water! Sheer disappointment Hilton, no customer service not coming back here again!
Beautiful place! Fantastic service! We stayed here for 2 nights mid-december and we loved it. It's away from the CBD, close to the airport. It's an easy walk to and from the airport but there is no paved walkway so you can't drag luggage. There is an hourly water taxi to and from the CBD (about 20mins) for $5 each way when you show the room key. The Wakatipu Grill restaurant and bar is excellent with a beautiful view of the mountains. Parking option is paid valet only.
Great location outside of the main town but close to the airport. The water taxi makes for a fun way in for dinner and a drink. The hotel is new and the amenities are great but the service leaves something to be desired. The housekeeping is average at best, they didn't clear the used glasses and would let themselves in without knocking or stand outside the door without knocking, very strange. Also the bartender was nothing short of rude at the wine bar. Very disappointed with the staff at almost ever turn which was disappointing because the view and hotel itself were amazing.
Stunning hotel and location. Friendly staff and high standards of cleanliness. Only downside for us was having to put down a $200 bond on arrival which we weren t aware of which then takes 3 business days to show back in your account after you check out.
Lovely place, great service, must try their massage, it s really enjoyable
The location is perfect, it is further to the city by road, but it's close to the slopes, and so much more! Plus you can take the water taxi to get to downtown and not have to worry about where to park! The location right next to the lake is amazing, there is a little path that follows the lake and you can walk for hours! Or rent a bike! Their rooms are decent size and perfect for families as have separate rooms, and you have plenty of choice with restaurants. Love this place.
Not too far from town, very nice and quiet, it has direct access to water taxi to take you to queenstown ($10 return per person) good option when you dont want to find parking in queenstown. I stayed at private spa room, it has spa ensuite, just a note, if you stay in spa, forget the high floor. All spa are on lowest floor but you still be mesmerised with the lake view. And direct private access from room to lakeside!
Love our stay, however breakfast is not as much variety as I expect from 5 stars hotel. Could be improved more
Friendly and accommodating staff. Our suite had direct access out to the lake shore and walking track. Situated in a quieter area of the lake makes this feel like more of a resort than a hotel. Plenty of good and varied dining options available
Great hotel, upgraded room and was worth it. Offered a different upgrade but wasn't available even though the reception offered it which was disappointing
We stayed at Hilton for 4 nights and thorougly enjoy the experience. Bed was comfortable, tastefully decorated room, good amenities with pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, free shuttle to town and professional and friendly staff.
It s very nice that there is a car
I stayed at the residence, but it's comfortable and the traffic is not too long.
The facilities are also good
Such a comfortable 5 star hotel, the staff really go out of their way to look after you. T he bar man Clement is amazing, he is very talented when it comes to making any cocktail you want! The rooms are super clean as always with the Hilton and the breakfast was perfect after a night of heavy drinking!
We haven't stayed here but we came to have breakfast at the buffet after a friend recommended it. The buffet was great! Not only lovely food in the buffet itself but the chef will cook you eggs (fried, scrambled, in an omelette .... how ever you like) and pancakes to order. Can highly recommend a trip out just for the food
Very poor stay...two single beds pushed together for a "King" bed made for an uncomfortable sleep. Constant noise to go with it. The rooms were serviced once in my three nights. They came after 4pm on two of the days after I had been busy all day. I'd expect the rooms to be looked at before the late afternoon. The breakfast buffet was also very average with not a great selection. Considering it takes a water taxi to get to town you'd think that the service would be amazing. But its exceptionally poor. Would not stay here again.
Quite possibly among the best hotels in South Island. Great views. We are coming back
Great. Views are spectacular. Amazing restaurant and bars.
I booked this hotel for my holiday and it totally ruined my trip.
First, the room phone is not working. Anything I need I have to go to the front desk to ask - the receptionist apologized and told me that they will fix the phone problem but it never happen.
Second, I booked a king bed and when I went into the room it is two single beds. I asked the receptionist and he told me someone will go to my room and make two beds into one- and it is 4pm in the afternoon. When me and my partner come back at 10PM, we were very tired and want to go to bed, but when we go to the room it is still two single beds!!!
We have to go to the front desk again ( because the phone is not working!) and receptionist told us to come back and wait for someone to come.
This hotel is managed poorly and horrible- the manager definitely needs to make some changes
Not worth the money we paid for. Poor room cleaning service and had stains on carpet. The concerns were not addressed fully despite the complain. Won't be staying at Hilton Queenstown again.
Great hotel, fabulous views, nice to be outside of town, peace and quiet
