Great experience staying here. It truly makes a relaxing holiday. Treat yourself and do it. Awesome restaurants. Unbelievable buffet breakfast. Lovely day spa. Can't be faulted. We stayed in the relaxation room - with our own private outdoor hot tub. If you get the chance... stay in that room. Absolutely lovely.

We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary at the HILTON Queenstown 11th November.
When we arrived we were greeted with such friendly staff we felt like we had been here before- although it was our first time . We were delighted to be told that we had been up-graded to a GORGEOUS Two bedroom apartment with fabulous views of the lake ! Our room was lovely & peaceful & the bed was SO comfy !!
Within half an hour of arriving we were surprised by the lovely Fran who brought us a bottle of Pinot Noir & a box of delicious handmade chocolates - compliments of Hilton!
We enjoyed the tasty buffet breakfasts & the water taxi to and from town was great too !!
But our favourite part was escaping to the Beautiful heated pool / sauna and spa area for a little R & R !!
We would like to thank you all for a FABULOUS stay Hilton Queenstown! But - mostly - thank you to your Wonderfully kind , caring and friendly staff !!
We are already looking forward to our next stay !! Thanks SO much

While on a road-trip around the South Island, we stumbled across this brand new property (at the time) run by Hilton known as Kawarau - we couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the prices, and had to book a room for a night while we spent time in Queenstown.

We didn't really want to stay in town, since we preferred to avoid really touristy places, so staying on the edge of town appealed to us. When we arrived, we discovered that even if you wanted to stay in town, Kawarau would be a great place anyway as they have a regular taxi-boat service into town.

Being managed by Hilton meant that service was excellent from the time we arrived until the time we left. There was some confusion as to which amenities we were allowed to access or not given that it wasn't the main hotel, and based on our tariff, but we didn't mind.

We stayed in room 111 in building 2, which is situated on the front of the property facing the water. The room we had was tiny, and clearly geared up for the winter season rather than for summer, including a completely useless balcony, but the views were lovely (even from the bathroom), and the living room and bedroom spaces were nicely proportioned.

The rooms seem to be well soundproofed and have all the mod-cons, but unfortunately while we were there clearly everything was a little too new as the room was engulfed in a plastic or glue smell, and WiFi and TV reception was extremely poor. We certainly felt like we were the first to use the room though as absolutely nothing showed any signs of wear-and-tear, so this surely wouldn't be a concern for guests now.

If you're heading to Queenstown for a skiing holiday and you want the comfort, and the beauty, with town centre at arm's length, this place is probably for you.

Stayed January 2013.

The way to the room is confusing and difficult to find. Get down the elevator and continue to the elevator again, as New Zealand is the same everywhere. That there will be no staff to service us Have to walk for yourself But when I reach the room, I feel tired. Because the room is beautiful, comfortable, reasonable (going around 14 Jul '17, about 6,000 per night ) Spacious room There is a living room. There is a swimming pool, warm room and warm water.
I like the warm bathroom floor. Big bathtub soak in comfort In front of the hotel is Lake Wakatipu, sitting and chilling, taking pictures very beautiful
Date of stay, book 2 nights So get a free meal card for a restaurant in the hotel 2,500 baht to try delicious pizza, inexpensive, during 1 get 1 free. But go try Chinese restaurant Very expensive and not tasty Noodles only, no meat was 500 baht. Increased shrimp from 200 to 700. But the taste is bland. In conclusion, I have to leave the food. I recommend that only pizza restaurant is the answer. Or a cafe The morning coffee and sandwiches were delicious.

Located on the opposite end of Queenstown. We had the Lakeside view room, enjoyed waking up daily to this amazing view. Rooms were a decent size too.
We had a daily buffet breakfast as well - wide range of selection with great outdoor view of the lake.
There is under ground parking available for $16/day with multiple entry and exit.

Very disappointed Yesterday it had come to my attention The Porters of this Hotel are cashing in on Tour Guides Drivers Commission for Queenstown Activities They have no knowledge of the itinerary for the group's daily events there for coursing havoc for the Tour Guides Drivers all Transport for the group's are GPS. ..It's the Tour Guides Drivers Responsibility for all groups from their arrival to New Zealand to their departure they put in long hours long distance of driving keeping them safe, content, accounted for this is a injustice towards these Hard working Tour Guides Drivers being the care givers of all groups 24/7 ...This Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa is the only Hotel that the Manager supports his Porters doing this injustice I know because a Tour Guide Driver had it confirm today ...The question is this all groups (guest arrives & depart how? ) On a donkey? Or Coach, Bus?...Who signs them in? A Sheep? Or A Tour Guide Driver? Many Drivers off load & loads their luggage. ..Again a injustice is preformed towards Good Hard Working Tour Guide Drivers

Honestly..where do I start? The Hilton is probably the most value for.money I've come across. Lovely rooms with complimentary access to the hotel pool, gym and sauna. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have several different restaurants etc. Such a great place to come for a couple of nights break at a very reasonable price with plenty to keep you entertained without leaving the property. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place, excellent staff and great cookies. The only flipside is that it is cut away from the main city. Hourly water taxis operate but in my opinion it is not enough. The hotel should have buses every 30 mins

Great location near the airport, friendly staff and usueful services to include water taxi and shuttle into Queenstown center, a little pricey and not all the rooms are lakeside facing, but the rooms are nice and spacious. Would stay at again!

A lovely setting on the lake front with reasonably sized modern rooms. The staff are delightful - from small towel animals from housekeeping to very accommodating spa staff when we were running late. I recommend renting a car as the shuttle bus to Queenstown may not run when you need it, especially in the evening.

Seriously disappointed. Booked two adjoining rooms as we were staying with two kids. Phoned when booking to double check the rooms would work for us. We turned up and they knew nothing about the request and had split our family booking onto two separate floors. It turns out the call centre is in Kuala Lumpur and is hopeless! Reception man was very embarrassed and nice, but couldn't move us as there was no other availability. Apparently problems like this via the call centre happen often. We stayed elsewhere and won't go back as family was so disappointed, especially our 11 year old whose birthday it was.

If you would like to have a nice and cheap family ...

If you would like to have a nice and cheap family holiday with no added costs, stay away from Hilton Queenstown. With very little options available and no access to public transport, you will find yourself paying entirely for a room with not even a hair dryer. I've stayed at many 5 star hotels and have to say this is the most disappointing one. The water was cut out for almost an entire day and when we asked for drinking water, we were offered in room dining (where a bottle of water costs $7). After expressing that we were very thirsty and could not access our tap water, only then did they agree to send water bottles up. We were not told ahead of our stay that there would be a $300 bond and the hotel shuttle to town comes and goes once every few hours. Which means you have to either catch the water taxi (which is $10 per trip, could add up to $80 there and back for a family of 4). Staff were awkward and, at times, cocky. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because of the view and the fireplace, and one of the nice cleaners who was actually very kind and accomodating. Otherwise, all the restaurants and cafes surrounding the hilton are all set for ridiculous tourist prices and are honestly not justifiable. You can have a much better holiday staying somewhere in town with similar views and easier access into town. Save your money and grief. I have to say though their caesar salads pretty good so hats off to the chef.

You can enjoy great views, the food in the restaurant is very good, it is very convenient to get close to the airport, but it will be a bit noisy when the plane takes off and land. It is a good choice for vacation!

Breakfast tastes superb.

Breakfast tastes superb.
It is far from where to go.
There is no street lamp in the vicinity and it is transcendent dark.
Only the Hilton is the opposite location and disappointed with the view.
The tour bus does not stop by.
It is super expensive when you take a taxi.
Reservations are not recommended.

The Barista Coffee in Wakatipu Grill, Hilton Queenstown is perfect every morning. The staff, breakfast and of course the coffee are a regular part of my morning routine. I am greeted with a wonderful hosting staff who sincerely want me to have a wonderful day and a special experience every time I arrive.

I definitely recommend the Hilton for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the high tea is scrumptious, the rooms are pristine, and the spa is luxury relaxation. Functions at the Hilton have amazing service and it is a venue that caters to make your dreams a reality. Simply put ... Inspiringly Fabulous!

The rooms are all the same. No matter if normal, junior suite or suite. The only thing that betrayed is the price, which is also very high.
If you are unlucky enough the room is a view of a concrete wall.

Wi-Fi is only free if you join the Hilton Club. In addition, it is not possible to hear web radio without dropouts, because the connection is very slow.

The breakfast costs extra but very rich and varied.

Conclusion: for one or two nights OK but not for a complete vacation.

Barely average. Sub-standard service levels. Cold food. 30% lights don't work in the room. Gas fireplace doesn't work. Come with low expectations and you may be ok. Info provided by staff or information pamphlets is very misleading or totally inaccurate - there is no shuttle between the airport and here for example - you definitely need to book for dinner as seating is very limited as is the menu. Gas fireplace does not work, baths leak and no-one seems to care, but we'll take your money thanks. Not sure where the other reviewers are staying but I'd love to be there. This is not the first time I've had similiar experiences, like I said, a place to sleep is all it is - which is why it's a 2 star rating (barely).

Room was good and clean on arrival but the next day wasn't serviced on our return at 3pm.
The hotel is a distance from town so we hired a car to get about. There is minimal free parking and always taken which meant having to use Hilton parking at a ridiculous cost of $16 per day in the nearby parking garage or even more expensive $40 hotel parking. This is pure gouging as there was no alternative but to pay. When discussing this the hotel staff were rude.
We have travelled extensively overseas and never had problems with parking.

One of the nicest hotel experiences in NZ.

One of the nicest hotel experiences in NZ.
For us it had the perfect location and it was so easy to get to the heart of Queenstown. Be mindful that the ferry doesn t run that often so make sure you know the time table.
Ferry cost 5$ per person, one way.

The ferry trip is very nice.

On the way back, we took an Uber which was approximately the same price for 4 people.

Our rooms had an amazing view.

The hotel lobby is unfortunately very boring.

The sauna/swimming pool is nice.
Unfortunately it s women/men separated so my husband and I couldn t enjoy it together. The jacuzzi wasn t working which was a pity.

We loved the breakfast and the location. Be on time for a nice spot as it gets full very quickly.

I find it ridiculous that an international company like Hilton charges you when you pay with your card. Its 2019!

Nice? Sure. Worth the price? Probably not. The Hilton provides an ok experience but nothing to write home about for the price. For the same money you can find better accommodation elsewhere without constant addons. The best part? Taking the water taxi to Queenstown and back.

We enjoyed our stay but will stay elsewhere next time.

First of all,

First of all,
Thanks to Team Hilton.

We stayed 29June-1July2020 with my Family in the standard room which is a nice and small. Also had a beautiful and CLEAN bathtub in there.
As we requested in advance, They provided a baby portable bed and a warm blanket for our 10Month old daughter.

The reason why we booked your hotel was they have a heated pool.
But unfortunately, on the 1st day when we checked in at 3pm, the pool was under maintenance so asked the front staff who said probably a couple hours but actually closed the rest of the day.
Luckly we booked for 2nights so instead of going to the pool, went to the Gym room and had a nice bath at our room so all good.
The 2nd day, after breakfast about 8:30am, we checked if it's open or not and we couldn't see any sign so went back to our room and changed to swim suits but
maintenance sign was up again.
So there was a staff so asked him and said another 20mins.
After that, we went back and it was finally open!
My daughter didnt cry in the pool even though it was her 1st time. And hot tub was so cool too! We all had a great time in there. There are always someone cleaning that was impressed.
Anyway, we enjoyed there twice a day. So clean and the staff was friendly too!

About Breakfast,
We tried 2 times, and we both felt a bit lack of selections also same except custard croissant. But staff are friendly especially Hiroko, who was clearly the outstanding and nicest staff member there.... very pleasant to us.

Overall, 5Stars.

Great team work Hilton QT!
Clean, friendly and attentive staff!

Thank you!

Very nice hotel, but too far from the center of town. While the hotel offers a free shuttle to and from, it had limited seating and only runs on the half hour and hour. We had a large tour group and many were unable to get into rien until later in the morning.

Japanese staff is too low and unfriendly. The male staff who came to the restaurant at breakfast and spoke so much English, so we asked a Japanese-speaking staff and came out with a bad face. Do you hate to communicate? I've come in contact with it very annoyingly. I thought it was a budget hotel. The breakfast is not delicious at all, and the fruits are young and not sour. The coffee was too bad. The location was bad, too far from the airport and the city, and inconvenient. A hotel that cannot be called Hilton. I spent the last two days at Sofitel and the breakfast was very good. The Japanese staff was also very kind.

A really nice place too stay, staff are great and the place was spacious and tidy. Bit of a pity that a lot was closed due to Covid, but still great nonetheless. There is a cheap water taxi to get you to Queenstown, which is also a fun trip!

Very nice hotel! Excellent in views, room cleaness, and service. The design are quite stylish as well. The only downside is traffic to airport. No bus or shuttle, and difficult to find uber service! There is a ferry to Queenstown CBD, but not to airport.

5 star service, extremely clean and very very nice. The rooms are a good size (we had a lakeside view room) and the bathroom is clean and massive. It was so nice we decided to have cheese and crackers with salad and wine for dinner whilst watching the sun set from our room. The only downside is that you have to pay nzd15 for valet parking. If not there is free self parking in the double tree Hilton next door. This was a great redemption from the amex platinum reserve card.
