The food is over the top. No complaints there. We tend to do Sunday brunch when we do go. But regular food service days and holiday brunch is way too pricey. That is why the three stars. Again the food is well prepared. However on the last Christmas brunch the food was a little cold. If price does not matter to you it is a five star restaurant.

Amazing food. This place is a hidden treasure if you ask.me. Wow what a view up on top of the hill. Almost like a campus. You can walk around the restaurant inside and out. Lots to see and explore. Staff is very friendly and outgoing. Can't say enough good things. Looks like a great place for receptions or functions. They have many rooms for events. Sign up for their email promotions if you want to stay in the loop for food and drink specials

Went with some friends. This place was good. I acutally had my doubts, but I was wrong. The food is good. The views, the atmosphere was great. Good selection of cocktails and wine. The servers are great, prompt service. They are very friendly and nice. Our server was Hope, she was very nice and sweet, always serviceable. And all the staff in reality was great. The food was delicious and the appetizers. It's a bit pricey in my opinion, but it's worth it. Give it a try, its a little gem in the I.E.

Love passed away in an absolute gym and the ugliness of San Bernardino very affordable if you go for happy hour The margaritas are the best the spinach and artichoke dip is always freshly-prepared made individually for every customer extremely tasty and feeling enough for two people the calamari is always fresh and served beautifully on a bed of salad or great sauces to dip I also have the opportunity to go to the Mother's Day brunch which is very pricey but has a wide variety along with bottomless mimosas

Made a reservation a month out and explicitly requ...

Made a reservation a month out and explicitly requested a table by the window. I called two weeks and a week prior to my arrival to ensure that we had a table by the window. However, when we got there, the hostess (rude and uppity Mexican girl with glasses) told us there weren't any available. No big deal. We were then seated in a booth on the other side of restaurant FAR from the window. Fine. Looking around, we saw THREE empty tables by the window. They were empty for 90 mins and 2 were still available by the time we paid and left. During our dinner, the Mexican hostess seated two walk-ins (dressed like they just got done doing construction work) at the window table. I know they were walk ins because I walked by the hostess (en route to the bathroom) and the couple stated that they didn't have a reservation. That really pissed me off.

Secondly, the attitude of our waiter was abominable. I believe his name was Edgar. During our entire meal he was extremely inhospitable. I don't know why he would outright lie about clam chowder being the ONLY soup available for the Prix Fixe when the people behind us were able to order and receive French Onion soup. Further, he came by twice during our meal -- once immediately after WATCHING us putting food in our mouths, he bum rushed us and asked if everything was ok. I didn't even have a chance to swallow and ask him why they would put gravy on top of the Filet and NOT the mashed potatoes. Second time he came around was to deliver our checks at which time I reminded him that our daughter's meal comes with an ice cream. He responded by rolling his eyes and telling me that he didn't think she would want the ice cream as it was freezing cold outside. Yeah OUTSIDE Edgar but we were seated directly next to the busy kitchen and the heat from it drafted into our booth. He was by far the worst waiter I've ever encountered. Lastly I'm not sure if he was instructed to call us "friends" but that got annoying real quick. His attitude did not make us feel like "friends" -- made us feel like three guests he wanted to collect the tip from.

Food also isn't up to par. If you want better steaks, go to Mortons or Flemings. Not this pathetic excuse of one. As I've mentioned before they put the gravy on top of the filet and leave the terribly-mashed potatoes bare naked. Btw there were still large chunks of potatoes in the MASHED potatoes. the best thing at this place is the kid's menu. For a measly $8 you get a monster of a meal. Chicken strips. So yes if you want to order a chicken strips or cheeseburger kid's meal (something the chef and sous chefs at this place can't screw up), then I recommend this place. Otherwise stay away. If you're looking for a view while dining, go to the other restaurant that's situated on a cliff (I believe it's in Pomona). Lastly, good luck getting up the hill to the parking lot at this place.

Su day champagne brunch...way overpriced, although we had advance birthday reservations at 12 noon, waited for 40 minutes to be seated. Our table seating was in walkway, cramped seating, champagne servers seem to take care of certain guests and kept champagne flowing at certain tables and other guests had to wait n flag down a glass of champagne...we did twice for 2 glasses. Food was cold, and food trays were mis_labeled. Server at prime rib station had about 3 inches of prime rib left, dried end, asked him for fresh portions, said this was last available portion, no more. Salads, fruits, shrimp also picked over, enchiladas hard edges dried too long on warming tray.
Three adults n one child, our tab was $215. Overpriced, lacks service, ambience, and food was simply bad.

Loved this place. Went in on a Thursday night and it felt like I had the place to myself. I've been there on the weekends and I prefer mid week. Food is always good, service is excellent and the managers are always on top of it. You've got to check it out, best place in the IE.

Mother's Day 2018. My daughter surprised me and took me here for Morhers Day. Very very pleased with the host and greeters. We only waited 20 minutes or so...just as promised. Food was scrumptious. Very Good. However, many of the items were out and not replenished quickly enough.
It made for a long jump back and forth to check. Temperature of many of the dishes were warm and not hot. Variety was amazing. A few labels were at the wrong dishes. The Omelette chef was awesome. There was a raffle -- we weren't winners but my daughter won with this choice. I loved the ponds, ambiance, the grounds and friendly staff. We were only a party of two. Strangely there were no seating accommodations for two near the window. The exit door we were sat close to in the Waikiki room (table 344) was continuously propped open on a very chilli and brisk day today. We kept asking for it to be closed.....but it kept getting propped back open. I server was very friendly and curteous. Clean restrooms. Lots of parking, live jazz and music choice was excellent. I absolutely loved it!

I haven't been here in a while and my daughter told me she thought they changed management or something and the last time she went the food was great. So a friend of mine and myself went here on 11/08/2016. We both ordered the 3 course prix fixe Filet Mignon off the menu. This was absolutely one of the best steaks I have ever had. I am a businessman and have to taken to lots of restaurants all over the world but sure didn't expect this right in my own backyard. BTW if you haven't been here the view on a clear night is spectacular. I will definitely return and thanks for an absolutely delightful meal.

We wanted to experience this restaurant and we made a good choice. Good food and friendly server. I had the Vegetarian Pasta Primavera, the pasta was al dente, excellent choice! The white wine sauce complimented the pasta really well. We would prefer to go to this than the other one.

I tried the loaded pasta which sounded great. However it lacked flavor and I could not add enough Tobasco sauce to enjoy it. Wasted $26 and was disappointed. My other friends were not impressed and we will not return. Great view of San Bernardino. Might be nice to go for a drink, but I don't drink. The Carrot cake was not a winner either.

A beautiful bone in steak, but no flavor. I took a bite from my boyfriend's plate. It just needed a good salt shaking before putting it on the grill. Instead, they tried to mask it by covering it with gravy. The sea bass was overcooked and dry. Once again, they tried to hide it with a light broth sauce. You come here for the view, not the food.

Service was also lacking that night. We waited at the empty front check in table for 5 minutes and no one was concerned there were guests coming in for their reservation.

I specifically left room for dessert because they had a beautiful dessert platter to showcase what they have. When I got my bread pudding, it was completely filled with raisins. I did not enjoy it at all.

We made reservations to celebrate my twin son s 30th birthday for brunch on 12/17, because one of my son s wanted prime rib which I was told by the person taking our reservation was included in the buffet menu. It was the most horrible meal we v ever encountered. I preordered the salmon eggs Benedict & my sons ordered regular eggs Benedict & we went to get food from the buffet while we waited. It took at least 45 minutes to receive the pre-breakfast order. The eggs were stone cold, congealed & hard. In fact the whole buffet was stone cold & not delectable. There was no server at the prime rib table & the prime rib was a cold small slab of meat, nor a server at the pasta bar. The only thing that was warm was the conventional Mexican food which we could get anywhere & did not go for. The only thing that flowed freely was the champagne. I spent over $250 for a substandard meal. I didn t complain because I didn t want to ruin the Birthday moment. One son & girlfriend drove from Los Angeles the other son from Santa Barbara & we came from Redlands. This used to be a great restaurant, better management & pride are needed again. I intend to call management & convey my disappointment. But don t go here expecting a special buffet , we should have gone to The Mission Inn buffet for about the same cost, or if you want Mexican Buffet spend your money at El Torrito or Las Fuentes for a much more delicious & economical meal.

My Wife and I have eaten here a few times now. It's a nice special occasion place. It used to be a 5 star restaurant but has lowered it's value to accommodate by adding more guests and less service.

The food was good, not great. The service was good, not great. The view, was great!

Tues & Thursday's they have a jazz night which is quite nice.

This place is really romantic. The entrance gives you a nostalgic feeling of something out of the ordinary. It has a mini-bridge with koy fish and giant gold fish that you must cross before you reach the dual door entrance. It even has what looks like a mini-outdoor chapel where one can get married. This is located a several yards away before you reach the bridge. If you're lucky enough to come to this place at night, the many trees and beautiful bushes light up with green laser dots that resemble a distant galaxy. As you finally make your way through the double door entrance, a couple of romantic couches await your arrival. You may choose to sit down if you'd like and gaze at the in-wall glass diaplayed fine selection of wines. I think the best seating is outdoor, because the view is breathtaking and beautiful. This is by far, one of the best places you can take your mom, wife, or girlfriend. They will forever remember this place, and you will forever have a piece of their mind. It's well worth the money to come here.

Wayfare Tavern had their food truck in our neighborhood, Hayes Valley. Easy to order through their text app and walked over to pick it up and it was ready when I got there. Very friendly workers during these trying times. Had (of course) the fried chicken, broccolini and mac and cheese! Wow! What a treat. Have always had great meals and service at their location, but for some reason, this tasted even better. And great portions. Hopefully they'll send a text next time they are back in the hood. Thank you WT!

San Bernardino is nothing special folks, but the location of Castaway's, up in the hills overlooking the city, makes the view something else!
We took a very important client out to eat with us and I was looking for a nice restaurant in San Bernardino. I was finding things like 5 Guys burgers as one of the best dining experiences in town until I ran into reviews of Castaway's

We drove here and up the hills. Our guest raved about how pretty the view was (whew)

The food here is good (not great) so you do get more than the view. I would eat here again if I needed to go back to San Bernardino

Excellent food, service was courteous and pleasant. Visually, it's an amazing spot. It's high up on a hill, a beautiful look at the city, and gorgeous koi fish river you cross on a bridge to get to the entrance.
Great place for a first or 30th date, excellent family spot for Sunday brunch, and great rooms for business meetings and gatherings.
