We have had the Redback unit for nearly two years now, and apart from a few initial comms issues, we are very happy with the solution delivered. And solution is the key word here, as we have one very elegant box with all components seamlessly integrated. One key factor in our purchase decision revolved around frequent power outages, and this is now a thing of the past with the Pylontech batteries. We have a great monitoring site which has allowed us a much more detailed understanding of our power usage, and have changed some of our usage behaviours now purely based on our understanding our usage. Great service from the team to sort our initial comms issues, and a BIG shout-out to Damien from DPV solutions for his terrific support as well.

An ongoing connectivity problem for NZ users of MyRedback app was solved for myself and many others through an outstanding, supportive and helpful customer service experience. Thank you V.

I have had my Redback for over a year now and it has delivered impressive results. The back up function has been fantastic and the after sales service is second to none.....keep up the good work Redback....

Do Not buy Redback. Functions of the inverter do not work as promoted. Drops the internet connection 3 times a week. Requires manual reset every time. Service department does not respond to your complaints. I could have paid a lot less money. Shop elsewhere people.

I chose this company because they were innovative and Australian. I wanted a hybrid system as I get the occasional blackout and wanted backup power. This company fits the bill.
I love the tools that accurately show how much power you are using and is a great educational tool for the kids. Well done guys.

Apart from some minor teething problems, which Redback quickly and efficiently fixed, my experience with this company and product has been first class.
The 5kw inverter plus battery practically yields all our power and no net grid costs; wonderful !

Updated my review, software now working well and system operating as expected.

Well I have read the reviews and to date mine has been nothing but perfect.

I have the inverter and three batteries (7.2kw total) and we barely touch the grid.

My installation team were great, acknowledging the product was new to them but always had answers or prepared to get them answered by the Redback team.

The portal is fantastic, whether it be on the web, iPad or iPhone app I can easily access a range of information.

I two was impressed that an Australian company was actively involved in research and development, lets hope the system works for years and years to come.

Just moved into a house with the system installed. The monitoring was offline. Spoke to Support who assisted me getting back online, very helpful and friendly bunch 10 out of 10 for customer support so far!

Purchased an inverter last year. Was faulty from day one and couldn't connect it to the wifi. Have tried many different solutions and now the on board smarts (Raspberry Pi) platform Redback uses has locked up. Spent many hours trying to get through to their support and now I want the unit replaced but they so far have not come to the party. I went with a Queensland company because we are in Queensland and thought the service would be better, obviously I was wrong.
My advice now is just purchase the Goodwe Inverter which seems rock solid just the on board smart relays etc that Redback incorporates into the Goodwe unit just isn't worth it at this time.
As I write this I am still waiting for them to answer my call.

Purchased several inverters, all faulty. This held up tens of thousands of dollars in payments from customers for weeks. Causing one customer to go to consumer affairs. Others left negative reviews on our business page which generates most of its new customers through word of mouth. Products are untested and full of faults, while Redback are full of excuses.

Had my system with battery back up for just over a year.
And have not had a bill yet.
And just got a $900 refund from my electricity company. Love the system and the fact i can see exactly where my power is going.

My wifi connection failed nearly 4 months ago after working well and I am still trying to get Redback and the contractor to fix the known software /SD card problem. The contractor blames Redback and Redback blames the contractor. I should have gone with Tesla....
One year after having my problem fixed by bypassing the wifi with an ethernet cable, I have lost connection again. I am now told that I need another software update.

I have been using the Redback Hybrid Inverter for the past 12 months in an Off-Grid configuration complete with 2x LG Chem batteries, with the result being stunning! The unit itself has been 100% reliable, delivering power 24x7x365 from either solar or the batteries or both!

Yes I run Air Conditioning during the summer with zero issues, along with just about every electrical appliance you would find in a house!

The mobile app is good and the web app great. There have been a number of updates during my first year and I suspect that more updates are in the pipeline that will deliver more features and functionality!

I don't have any experience in other Hybrid inverts - however this one does for me, exactly what it says on the tin - It Works!
