Vegan cookies are great, nice atmosphere for studying or socializing. Paninis are amazing. Coffee is not the best but still good. Only thing that is not pleasant is the employees cold attitude. Could be more welcoming.

Very tasty New York cheesecakes and Poppy Squares! London Fog is better than in Blenz Coffee, definetely.
But sometimes there are too many people and it makes the place really noisy.
Breka is my favourite place to go study. The staff is super nice and dont mind you sitting there for hours. The pie and cakes are delish, my favourite is the pumpkin pie that they have around Thanksgiving. It is a bit pricey but pretty much on par with Starbucks. Also often they have day old pastries on for super cheap ($1 or $2 for a slice).

I love this place but the city has made it very hard to park around the area closing off many parking lots in the area. Also it's very small inside and with 2 small kids I can't come in with a stroller. Was very happy to see you guys are on Uber eats, Problem solved! I can order stuff and have it delivered, or so I thought... You don't have all your items on the uber menu (challah for example). When I called the store and lady working there told me I can't order it if it isn't online.... why isn't it there? Please add it and make this mom's life just a bit easier :) thanks!
It may be the only place open in the neighbourhood in the middle of the night, but don't think that it's only the desperation of night owls that makes this place so popular - the food and drinks are worth every bit of the reputation. Try the mango mousse if you want to know what heaven tastes like - alternately, the chocolate rum balls are perfect when you want to eat enough solid chocolate to become one with your couch for a week in a sweet-coma. Fair warning: their sandwiches impart the aroma of garlic like nothing else. If you are garlic-breath averse, maybe ask to skip the garlic butter.

Love Breka's desserts their red velvet is fantastic really! Can't say anything about their drinks as I have only tried their hot chocolate and it was poor in taste in my opinion. Their dessert selection is great tho. Love that they are 24hrs, small cozy cafe, can sit outside or inside, free wifi, affordable. My con would be that, because this is probably the smallest breka, sometimes they don't have certain desserts I have had to call in advance to check if they have what I'm craving.

Breka is one of my favorite cafe/ bakeries and I often go out of my way to pay a visit to Breka when I'm on the Mainland. Every member of my family has a favorite item and we have yet to try something here that isn't a marvelous surprise! We enjoy the soup, sandwiches, donuts and warm drinks and we rarely leave without a loaf of bread and a dozen cookies in hand. The seating area is small, but seats usually pop up (watch out on Friday afternoons!). The dine-in environment is enjoyable. There are good options for children, vegan and vegetarian. Few options for gluten-free.
Original location. Open 24 hours. Not as much seating as other locations. Same great treats and hearty sandwiches.
I love Breka but the customer service at this location is lacking. The few times I ve visited this location, the workers looked like they didn t wanna be there. You could tell by their body language. I asked the bar lady for extra ice for my iced latte (even tho I asked for it when I ordered my latte) she just starred at me and proceeded to get the ice.
Coffee and dessert are good, bread is also very famous, and it is very popular!
Always love going to this place, aroma of freshly baked cakes, muffins, pastries and coffee increases my cravings.

Yummy pastries and great bread if you like ryes. The coffee is decent and the crowd is eclectic. I love sitting by the window and watching the diversity of Fraser Street. It kinda remind me of Montreal. Let's hope the hipsters don't mess it up for the rest of us. Could use more outlets for those that like to work on their computers.
Breka kept my yearning for European bread satisfied over the five years I lived in Vancouver. When I moved apartments, staying close to Breka was one of the criteria for a place.
Good drinks and food, the place is practically an institution of Fraser street. Decent prices ($3.50 ish for a medium latte).
The ordering could be streamlined a bit; sometimes it takes the staff quite a bit of time to place orders. The layout of the store is kind of awkward with the till in the corner where there isn't space.
This place would be five stars if there was more room inside the store.
My wife loves their bakery i think its a little too sweet for my liking.

Love the Breka's Bakery! You just don't know Fraser Street until you've spent some time among the glow of this friendly 24 hour locale. The treats are supurb and the decaf coffee can't be beat, which looks and tastes like the real deal but without the caffiene aftereffects (good for late night coffee buffs like me). Special shout out to Harry and "King of Fraser" Dave!
The place could be the bast spot for coffee in the southeast Van area if there wasn't for the cold customer service and the low temperature of the place during winter. It seems they either want to save in hydro at the cost of customers or they don'welcome people to stay long at the place. I'm a neighbor who intended to study at the place but had to cross the street to Starbucks after 30 mins. at Breka. Good bread and decent coffee tho
I had a poppy seed torte and it was delicious but when I tried for the second time, it was too sweet and there was lots of glaze on it. I guess they couldn't keep their standard.

I have been going there for about 9 year now (awesome Italian pocket). I'm from Montreal and always bought there Montreal smoke meat sandwich and use to loved it. Unfortunately the last two times I bought a sandwich it seem like the made the sandwich size bigger but was disappoint on how much they cheeped out on the meat. Some parts of my sandwich didn't even have meat. Super disappointed.
For a 24hr establishment Breka serves amazing quality food with super friendly staff! Standout sweets are the red velvet cake, apple fritter (life changing), carrot muffin and the breakfast cookie. Savoury you must try the chicken and apricot pastry or the breakfast bagel, plus the sandwiches are always good - grilled cheese has gralic butter on the outside taking it to the next level!! Coffee was good too, but the true star is the matcha latte!

They have such a variety of pastry and food like large sandwiches etc.
We ordered a whole apple pie and the man that helped us had the pie cut 6 ways and got us metal forks and real plates and of course we also ordered some coffees which were very good like the pie.
The place was very busy and this was late at night and it was cold outside but people were coming in constantly and also taking large cakes and pies out.
Breka is a great place to go for pastry and all there stores have well trained friendly staff

Very convenient since it's open 24/7. The array of choices makes it hard to decide what to eat. They have cakes, bread, donuts, cookies, pies, and sandwiches. Its hard to find a seat because it's always so busy.
Left my bag here and it was busy. I was surprised at how quickly someone handled the situation. If I left it else where it'd be gone. Not only are the sandwiches and pasteries good, but the service too. Thank you to the lady who helped me that day.
The cheesecake is great...the lighting is great and the wait staff are always happy and helpful. What's there not to like about this place. The only thing I would suggest is more seating or a patio somewhere for their next location
Amazing bakery, with incredibly reasonable pricing. The Apple Tort is a highlight, the cakes are amazing, and even the coffee and fruit smoothies are excellent.
It's great because they run 24 hours but their food is pretty decent too. They have pastries as well as hearty sandwiches that they can heat up for you

Love it!!! Fresh baked breads are great! Their chicken and apricot pockets ( actually all of them) are to die for. Not the best place If you are counting calories because it is IMPOSSIBLE to not buy a whole tray of baked goods... Truly one of the best in town!

I had never had a very bad service at Breka s Bakery, but this morning the attendant Rose were so impolite and no manners..
She stayed all the time at the cash, didn t go to see what you wanted like the others attendants do and also screamed at me to ask what else I wanted.
You want to start your day having a good coffee but this morning with Rose attitude spoiled that.

Love the sandwiches and soups. Moderately priced. Seating is harder to come by at noon and around 3/4pm
Their bakeries are delicious but it could be pricey.

I am not too much a coffee person but I am definitely a Breka fan. Almost every weekend over the last 7 years we have to have a Black Forest mocha to start our day. Our order is always simple: EXTRA hot. We had not so positive experience from some barista and was told that their machine cannot make extra hot coffee. But we also got amazing service which worth the highlight. One particular Barista, Asian girl with a ponytail was so attentive and kind. When she passed the coffee to me in both hands, she said this is made extra hot. Pls. watch out and be careful. That kind little gesture made my day and worth a five star.
