It is well organized and huge, different galleries. But pls. don't get to be lured with the name nothing even close to the Hermitage St. Petersburg, just name. If you visit Rijk Museum you may skip this one.

We love the experience. Museum tells the story of Amsterdam. Free audio guide in several languages. It has a restaurant inside, but the prices are quite high. There are several videos showing the history of the city / country. It has several exterior spaces, one of them with exhibitions.

The collection from Hermitage was good but very tiny. I visited the Hermitage in St. Petersburg in Russia before and had expected a lot more. The all in one ticket is 25 euro. But If you use your museum card, it would use up 3 out of 5 your museum card quotas. Very bad deal. Be warned!! Our museum cards were depleted before we realize it. BTW, there is no need to reserve a ticket online as there were not many visitors.

Well worth a visit.

Well worth a visit.
Many paintings by old Dutch masters in painting.
The building also exudes a bit, difficult to explain.

The branch of the Hermitage Museum. In addition to the National Gallery, it is another museum where you can see more works of the Dutch Golden Age. There is a lot of information available through the Audio Guide.

The Hermitage Amsterdam, satellite of the Hermitage Saint Petersburg, always captures the attention of the general public. Now with an exhibition of Dutch masters. Nicely decorated, fine artwork, good audio information from Jan Six de Elfde and Geert Mak. Very special that Jan Six gave the Eleventh first-hand information from Rembrandt. What he said about Rembrandt's "Portrait of a Jewish man" was truly sublime and made the portrait speak as if it were Rembrandt himself. (Right opposite the Hermitage, on the other side of the Amstel, is the house where Jan Six the Eleventh grew up. The house has a name: Collection Jan Six and can be visited under special conditions. I put that on my list!)
I also agree with the criticism that the price for this exhibition is very high. In addition to the entrance fee, a surcharge of ten euros. Spicy, very spicy. Anyway, the public comes to the Hermitage in large numbers and does not seem to have any problems with that.

This is not one of the most famous art museums in Amsterdam but it is really worth a visit. The current exhibition of enormous portraits is absolutely stunning. They've been displayed really well and there is a lot of historical information that is interesting in itself. Well curated.

Beautiful Museum with a great collection of paintings reflecting Dutch history and society. There are also some mythological marble statues as well. Great views of an Amsterdam city street and canal from the windows - I wish that was the view from my home!

For a 29 euro entrance fee I would have expected something a bit more spectacular. Everyone uses these audio-guides, creating a low humming noise in the first few rooms (which were the most crowded). The paintings were beautiful (especially the Rembrandt portraits of old men are spectacular), but I was not overjoyed.
