A huge deception, very strange to divide a (relatively small) museum into different parts for which you have to pay separately. I have seen a lot of museums, but this one is at the bottom of the list ....

Beautiful exhibition of "The Dutch Masters".

Beautiful exhibition of "The Dutch Masters".
You may never see this collection under one roof again! Unique.
It is definitely advisable to reserve in advance online.

Nice museum on the Amstel. Exhibitions of old masters, among others on loan from the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. Now with a very interesting contemporary art department, Outsider Art.

The Hermitage Museum in Amsterdam is an annex to the famous Saint Petersburg Museum. It is absolutely essential to see the gallery of the golden age which groups together its immense paintings whose fame was famous in the 18th century and from which all the bourgeois of the city tore themselves away. Besides the permanent exhibition, there are also temporary exhibitions that are also worth a look.

A beautiful museum in an equally beautiful building, with a beautiful collection and changing exhibitions. A small minus point, if you have reserved a disabled space, it is very difficult to register at the gate. The registration pole is only set up on trucks, which means that as a disabled person you have to get out to get to the button and microphone of the pole.

Dutch Masters is a beautiful exhibition, but the museum admits too many visitors in relation to the space in which the exhibition is built. This means that 20 people stand in front of one painting and you can see little, let alone read the accompanying text (a kind of Mona Lisa effect). The time-slot system does not work. Therefore deduct points for the experience. The best time to visit is Monday morning.

The museum always presents thematic exhibitions on my arrival there was that on the jewels of the Tsar. Former Russian capital - the city of St. Petersburg, today one of the largest cities in Europe, was built by Tsar Peter the Great starting in 1703, after the Tsar's stay in Zaandam in Amsterdam during his great trip to Western Europe . His exhibitions are not as substantial as those of all the other museums in Amsterdam.

Very beautiful.

Very beautiful.
Seen by doing the Amsterdam canal tour together with many other museums in this fantastic city.
Recommended for everyone.

Was not impressed with the collection here. Seemed very disjointed and no cohesiveness to the collection and/or the 'story' they were trying to convey. I think time would be better spent at one of the other many museums in the city.

I get so frustrated with this place. For a start it is a fabulous building with so much potential, but every time I go I feel herded into tiny bottlenecks with other visitors trying to read the interpretation. The topics chosen are si full of interest that, but it feels so very thrown together. The flow and narrative of the works are repetitive and jumbled. However, the actual cases and display of the exhibits are great. As for the cafe ...what is going on there?

Super

This museum is amazingly accessible and interactive, focussing on concise, ambient information to allow you to appreciate the exhibits. Sometimes walking through a museum can feel like flipping through a novel- you pick up a few words here and there but you miss out on the story. The Hermitage in Amsterdam is more like a web comic with audio and visuals you can click through to absorb at your own pace. Sure, you can just look through the pictures if you want. But if you look a little closer, a fascinating story unfolds, full of unexpected twists, surprising characters and engaging mysteries.
You can do a full pass through the museum in about two hours, and it has a garden and cafe on site. It's fully accessible with a free cloakroom and lockers. Perfect for a morning outing.

Great museum, too bad they started charging even to museumkaart holders. The exhibition is normally good (changes often), and the building is worth a visit. I really like the panorama Amsterdam, where you can see very quickly the history of the city and how it changed over time. I recommend this place only if you have plenty of time in the city, there are better highlights to visit

Impressive exhibition with the jewelry of the Russian nobility. Very interesting audio tour! Very worthwhile, because a lot of information. Ridden with brother-in-law who had arranged a disabled parking space on the own property! Top!

Ok

A day out to Amsterdam, two hours of traveling. First to the Rijksmuseum, then walking to the Hermitage. You can enter the Rijksmuseum with your annual museum card, even if it is very busy. Not at the Hermitage, a line from here to Tokyo and only two cash registers open. The staff went out of their way to work as slowly as possible, intent. I already wanted to leave again, but my wife wanted to see the collection. Finally at the checkout yourself, everything already at hand, but also here nothing of a quick settlement.
