As matron of honor, I rented the upstairs at Sleepy Creek Vineyard for a bridal shower for my best friend.

I spoke with the owner (Janette) on the phone since the staff had no clue the party of 32 was coming in that day.

Given that I booked the event two months pr one would imagine that would be ample time to notify the staff of our event. The table and chairs were not set up so I took it on myself to set up everything mind you, I am pregnant. Erik was very helpful and brought up an extra table for food once everything was very kind!

Upon speaking with the owner on the phone and in person, she was extremely rude and demanded I pay $30 extra for arriving 20 min prior to my set up time -it is helpful to note I arrived early because we had a winter storm that dumped 7-10 inches of snow the day before. I already paid the $150 set up/venue/tear down price when she asked for the extra $30. After spending 10 min on the phone arguing about what I was there early, I spent the other 15 min she was complaining about, setting up the table and chairs that should have already been set up. In total, we spent an hour going back and forth over the $30 (3 separate, very rude conversations). That time was wasted on pointless conversations and time away from the celebration I put together for the bride.

I can t emphasize enough, the staff was extremely helpful and over apologetic for the owners behavior and attitude and offered up numerous excuses for their boss, the owner, on top of which they repeatedly said-what might be the most appalling bit of information, she s like this with everyone.

We were told that everything would be set up upon arrival, nothing was; the bride contacted the venue asking about table linens and was assured it would be supplied, the owner berated me in person, and over the phone for having the audacity to expect what we paid for and ranted that they have no obligation for table linens. So we were left with white plastic tables that looked cheap and dirty. Aside from how I, or the bridal shower was treated, I have to emphasize that the owners communication with the staff was terrible, she did not communicate with them about our reservation, and when the staff communicated to the bride that they could definitely provide table linens, the owner completely undermined their directive.

In short, we have 32 guests who will not return or refer this venue for any event. This is really unfortunate because before today, this was a place I would recommend to everyone. The staff did their best but the owner made it painfully impossible for the staff to fulfill agreed upon terms of the bridal shower. Horrible internal communication, terrible customer service and extremely unprofessional.

Nice little place to go have some wine. A beautiful set up and very peaceful. From time to time they have live music in the evenings. The wine was good. It was an out of the way place worth a visit.

Went out for a day to do a wine tasting and relax. The wines are ok - nothing really special, but the atmosphere was very nice. We did our wine tasting at the tasting bar and then selected a glass to take outside and drink, even though it was a bit chilly. They've got a fair amount of picnic tables, and some people had brought there own chairs. I like that you can bring your own food (we hadn't, but it would have been a good idea), or purchase cheese from them.

They've got an assortment of games which was a nice touch. We grabbed one and took it outside with us while we enjoyed the wine.

Laid back place to visit, take photos, and have some wine & ice cream. Tours are available but the front desk clerk told me reservations must be made two (2) weeks in advance. Still worth a visit.

Cute little Winery with plenty of seating and a great selection of wines. The property coming in was very beautiful. The only thing that made it a 4-star experience was witnessing the women behind the bar pour themselves a glass of wine. Day drinking behind the bar didn't scream responsible to me. Despite that, the women were nice and seemed knowledgeable.

Spend a weekend at Sleepy Creek vineyards with my husband to get away from the hustle of the city. Beautiful little getaway, very clean accommodation and very affordable and yummy wine. Friendly staff and great getaway to experience Gods peace and beauty He created in the middle of a cozy vineyard.

Fantastic place to go for a lovely afternoon with friends or family. We liked some of the wine. Most of the options were sweet which isn't my favorite. There were 2 or 3 wines that were drier and much more to our liking. The hard cider was great! Beautiful tasting room and outdoor area with benches, fire pit, pond and grassy lawn. Very cute.

Disappointing experience. Staff member was not helpful and made us feel unwelcome. I was hoping to find an llinois winery to establish a relationship with. I usually buy my wine out of state but I wanted to buy wines from my own state. Oh well. I'll keep looking for a good one.

This was an impromptu stop on our way home to Wisconsin from a weeks vacation, and I'm so glad we did. It's a beautiful vineyard. The gentleman that waited on us was very friendly (as we're the two resident cats). The wines that we tried were all very good and I bought several bottles. I will definitely stop again if I'm in the area.

Wine was good and the cats were nice but I was charged for 2 extra wine slushes. The server refused to take them off my bill. They use sticky notes to keep track of tabs and have multiple people getting drinks for you so how on earth could that go wrong?!? I would not leave an open tab if I went back.

We saw the billboard and decided to take a little detour. So happy we did. From the amazing service and attention from their staff, to the wonderful wine, we were completely satisfied. We even walked away with an AMAZING Winey Mary! Thanks Sleepy Creek for an amazing half-hour distraction.

Very nice place away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely little pond. Wines are reasonable; around $15 - $20 per bottle. Best just to buy a glass and sit out and enjoy the scenery. See my pics.

A very nice setting nestled in the farm country of Illinois. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. There were many different wines to choose but many were sold out. Prices were right in the middle of what I call fair. There is even a B&B on the grounds. Will be back when in the area.
