The section with Outsiders Art turned out to be very worth seeing.
Beautiful impressive paintings. Well-appointed exhibition. Popular exhibition so take into account crowds.
One of the best museum experience I have ever had. I am a fan of museums. The interaction design of this museum is one of the best. You have to experience the old Dutch master light show. First time see the old painting display with morden technology. Also they have really food rambramdt prices. The cafe is nice as well
It is an art museum. With a little effort, I realized that this museum contains three separate display areas, one of which is included free with various cards, the others are accessed by paying an extra ticket. The three areas offer temporary art exhibitions also from other parts of the world. I found myself during the "Golden Age" exhibitions
I "" classical beauty "and" Finnish art ITE. "The museum is open from 10 to 17. I add that on summer Saturdays, jazz concerts are often held inside the museum's patio from 4.30 pm at 19:00.
Pleasantly organized museum, clear corona guidelines and beautiful exhibition
I love this place!!! It's in the heart of Amsterdam and is full of wonders!!! So much to see plus it is home to the Outsider art museum and gallery. Great space to relax and enjoy the creativity and history of art and the process of life.
I expected better, nothing that. It is widely visited in an hour.
We have viewed the Panorama of Amsterdam and the exhibition of Dutchmen of the Golden Age. Impressive. Nice exhibition. The history of the building: old people's home for old women (over 50) who had been members of Protestant Church for at least 10 years, were given a place there, revived. The wealthy administrators of the city gave the poor and those in need minimal help, because that help prevented crime, which promoted trade and also because you had to help the poor from a religious point of view. Women already had an emphatic role in this. An impressive walk through the ages. The meeting culture in the Netherlands, consensus of the majority, the polder model ...... Later this building became a museum, a branch of the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg,
Treasures from the 'Great Hermitage' that you do not always see there. I always visit every exhibition!
How much better can it get? Romanov's jewelry exhibition. Wow
Wat een schitterende collectie in een geweldig gebouw!
Beautiful historic building with an interesting exhibition about people in the golden age. Good audio tour with pleasant voice to listen to.
Nice museum.. Private so expect extra charge on museum jaar kaart
You can follow course courses for drawing and good art
Very nice and interesting museum with an extensive collection
Excellent. Complete and relevant information with every painting.
Here is the exhibition of the outsider artists too ... This is a very impressive exhibition of expressive outsider artists, who are artistically staged in the picture. You are from Utrecht ... an artist colony ...
The exhibition is intelligently curated.
After this exhibition, thoughts go ways that you carry ... especially not like a standard ... or you have to iron them out again in the coffee shop ... but I am in favor of becoming outsiders ...
The Hermitage is a beautiful building in itself. The museum is very worthwhile. And there are always special exhibitions. Ideal to see in combination with a day in Amsterdam.
The exhibition of "Revolution and the Romanovs" was on lend from the great Hermitage. The exhibition was very poignant with drawings by the doomed kids, bayonets that killed them, original telegrams advising Lenin of the executions being effected.
The Hermitage itself is not easy to find and very far from the Amsterdam Centraal.
Nice museum, with changing exhibitions. Now they were "jewels in the Russian court".
Very nice exhibition, with an audio tour. This is very nice to do, you get extra information that you do not read on the signs.
Nicely set up and definitely worth a visit!
The group portraits exhibition of the 17th century is also very cool to see. Nice audio tour there, which is also humorous !!
The variety in art! New old, paintings sculptures, art brut ...
This place does not have a permanent collection. It had 3 special exhibitions at the time of our visit. The cafe restaurant is spacious and beautiful. And hits the spot as you walk through this beautiful city.
The Golden Age exhibit features an amazing collections of paintings that are selectively illuminated to highlight select historic Dutch individuals, which combined with the free audio tour is super informative.
A must visit, with the Iamsterdam Card it's free and you can understand the history of the city easily. Audio guide included in the price.
Great museum, with beautiful exhibitions. The building is also worth a look. Formerly the diaconie for old women and men and has been used for over 300 years.
Beautiful beyond words. Elegant although not so easy to view if you're in a wheelchair. Some things are too high.
There is not much left of the old style of the building inside.
Nice exhibition
Very nice museum, quiet, well arranged little more audio guide.
By cons you have to take the ticket that includes the three floors (25 euros in 2019 otherwise 18 euros per floor) otherwise you will quickly made the round.
The brewery inside is very comfortable.
I remove a star because 25 euros is too expensive! Culture for all! sorry for that price you have to be able to get out.
A museum with a connection to the Hermitage in St Petersburg. Many changing exhibitions, often with a strong relationship with Russia. I love to go there!
Really enjoyed beautiful exhibition of beautiful jewels and paintings
Great to see all those artworks. Also especially the paintings of Rembrandt Harmenz van Rijn
Famous museum with changing exhibitions. Museum is located in a beautiful part of Amsterdam.
Coffee is expensive.
Due to corona (covid19) reservation is required in advance. Enough measure in the museum to keep to 1.5 meters. During the weekend there is a queue between the different exhibition rooms.
Beautiful exhibition. Too restless to listen to an entire audio tour. Suggestion: short version.
Very thoughtful design and guide of the exhibition!! We absolutely loved it
Beautiful on the outside ..... Beautiful on the inside ....
Beautiful paintings by Dutch masters that we cannot normally view.
I think the collection does not change often enough and the entrance fee is quite high.
Always beautiful exhibitions! Beautiful entourage around it. Very well done!
Very good tour. The voice of Mr. J. Six in particular is soothing.
Excellent museum. But it's better to get a pass for all the exhibitions as the Catherine the Great exhibition was quite short.
For me, one of the most beautiful museums there is was Amsterdam.
Still worked in the old retirement home
What has become beautiful say recommended
Historic Amsterdam interesting and well-designed museum
Beautiful museum in a beautiful building with beautiful views over the Amstel. Changing collections; wheelchair friendly. What I ask myself: why did a restaurant have to come in with such gigantic dimensions? Furthermore, the museum is not too big ..... Anyway, just for the building (former old man's house) worth the visit. Particularly quiet courtyard. Rear entrance wheelchair friendly as well as the rest of the museum - except for the entrance on the Amstel.
Every time there are beautiful exhibitions about the Romanov. One of the nicest emeseua of Amsterdam
Very nice paintings, if you like the Dutch style, with a historical background to it. Going through the galleries, you will experience the history of Amsterdam s golden age, embodied in the works of the great Dutch painters.
However at 29.9 it s overpriced. It might be a Tuesday curse, but it was also crowded with what I can only assume is a strictly over 65 crowd.
As mentioned in the other comments, although of quality, the audio tours suffer from being headphoneless, hence you spend most of your time having a black box to your ear, not to mention that the volume varies, which leads to some rooms being chattery.
This less than polished experience contrasts with the quality of the pieces exposed which is nothing short of excellent.
Beautiful exhibition. Educational and easily accessible
The large paintings are brilliant. Very good Dutch history.
I advise everyone to walk in this museum, a lot of interesting facts.
