Sean DeSilva helped me so much. I had multiple issues with my Honda Accord and a tight budget. He helped me prioritize my needs while explaining in detail what needed to be done about each issue. I decided to focus on the removal of rodent. (yes, what a shame it's life ended when I turned my fan on.) and the odor and debris clean up that followed. A great job at a price that was less than what I expected. I can't thank Sean and his service team enough.

This evening I showed up, in a cold rain storm, to ask some questions about my Honda CRV. I bought my car in another state, but needed some help. Hudson Charles greeted me right when I walked in and was over-the-top helpful. He had literally NO reason to help me, but he answered ALL my questions, showed me new things about my car, gave me suggestions AND he even helped me put on my license plates. I CANNOT thank Hudson enough for being so kind to me and for helping me. He had no reason to be so nice, as I was not buying a car or even interested (as I showed up with one!) A big shoutout to Chris Purcell for helping me the last two weeks. I am moving from Boston to San Francisco, and wasn t sure what my options were for my vehicle s lease - which I had through March 2021. Chris worked with me to explore options of trading in the vehicle for an upgrade or returning the vehicle. Even giving me options on who I could contact if I decided to do nothing and ship my vehicle out. I worked with Donovin Tran after various discussions with Chris, and Donovin was also so so helpful to make sure I could be in and out quickly, having all of the necessary documents prepared ahead of my arrival. I decided to turn in my car, and Chris and Donovin made this process of how to manage my vehicle ahead of a cross-country move seamless. Thank you both!!

Had some questions about some unusual (but I guess usual) idling from my Honda Fit. They were very informative and not condescending like some places can be. This was very refreshing.

TLDR: Why make an appointment if the car still takes all day to be serviced?

I must say though, I am disappointed by their "appointment" system. You can make an appointment but other than arriving at the chosen time, there is no priority for you when you get there. You still wait to get your vehicle vallet, wait in line for a service rep to talk, and your vehicle doesn't get serviced at the appointed time... I understand that being busy is a thing but why even bother make an appointment? You can just show up with out the appointment and the experience will be the same.

Honestly, service would be outstanding if they would prioritize you by making an appointment even if the appointment was 4 months in advanced. Similar to that of a good restaurant. Sure, you can't predict some car issues but things need changing at regular mileage intervals which should mean one could make an appointment, and the car gets serviced right there on the spot with minimal waiting.

A full 5 stars for Herb if he can fix that system and a big raise to the person to suggests the better system to him...Thanks

My experience with Herb Chambers Honda has been awesome. I have gotten two cars from Herb Chambers Honda in Boston and I can say that I was treated like a member of a family and not just a customer. I bought my car here because of a recommendation I got. The service was amazing and I recommended my sister who also ended up buying a new car. Sam Desroches was an amazing sales person. He catered to my needs and was not a pushy salesmen. He was understanding and very friendly. I highly recommend this dealership as well as Sam Desroches who attended me while I was there.

I purchased a used Honda from Eric Poulson. He spent many hours with me as I initially thought I wanted to lease a car. He explored that option and then guided me in the direction of a used 2012 Honda with minimum miles. He got me a fair value for the car I traded in. He certainly facilitated the conversation in such a manner that I felt trust for the knowledge he had about cars. I don;t buy cars often so I do not know much about the multitude of makes and models. I finally bought a car that I never expected to buy and it is the real first luxury car that I have owned. This is the second car I bought from this dealership and it won't be the last with sale's assistance that Eric Poulson provided. I would highly recommend Herb Chamber's Honda dealership and especially Eric as my sales representative.

My positive interactions were with General Manager of Honda, Joel Ginsburg, sales person MU and Brad Dixon in finance. All were on time, polite, professional and a truly a pleasure to work with. Joel, was a referral from a friend who also received exceptional service. The three year lease payment of my Honda Pilot Touring is $50 less than the five other dealers I contacted. I only had to visit the dealer twice and both visits were quick and easy. The paperwork was a breeze. The sales person MU was friendly, informed and very nice. The finance manager Brad Dixon was friendly, smart and we quickly made a positive relationship. The entire experience was my best vehicle purchase in my lifetime. I'm 45 and have purchased a dozen vehicles for family, friends and business. Have been going to this Herb Chambers for years, for service. While I am sure I could find slightly better prices at a local mechanic, the ease of booking and continued performance of the service here has kept me coming back. On occasion I run into a service appointment taking longer than it should, but for the most part, all appointments have gone smoothly. I have never felt pressured into service, and appreciate the health checkup for the car. They could use a little extra man-power at the check-in area, but overall a fairly smooth experience.

He was at times the only contact I had with the dealership. He has followed up with me several times since then and I appreciate it. While the car buying experience was a disaster Steve and Dana (manager) did their best to communicate the situation and rectify everything that they could.

If you have to get service done don t even waste your time going here. I made an appointment for 10:30am. It s now pass 12noon. An oil change should not take over 1hr 30+mins, and the lady at the service desk doesn t even make things better. I went to ask her and she act like I m not supposed to ask about my car, very unprofessional. She also couldn t even find my information in the system, its as if I was never checked in with them, I have to give my name and everything all over again just to verify my car and who I am and this is after I ve been here over an hour.. BTW we all dealing with the Covid, it s not an excuse to be unprofessional.. Just got my car back 12:23pm. I arrive at 10:30 for an oil change. NEVER COMING BACK HERE

My Honda CR-V needed a new battery; I made a last minute appointment. DJ had me in-and-out in virtually no time at all. He even checked the back-door latch which kept sticking; he reprogrammed it, and now with the new battery, it works like a charm.

- Their pre-purchase inspection service is pretty incompetent.
- You don't see the technician, you only interact with some people who call them advisors, but clearly have no expertise on cars.
- 5 stars reviews must be a joke. The employees are friendly for sure, but they do lousy job.
- If you need prepurchase inspection (or any inspection I believe) find a good honest mechanic (many of them are available on Yelp and Google reviews)

Details:

I took a friend's car there for a pre purchase inspection for a used car this morning. Report advisor was Robert Hall and technician was Paul Proudfoot. Herb Chambers was the second place I took the car for inspection, as I needed a second opinion on some of its issues. The service they provide was very incompetent. In the first place I visited, I was told that A/C compressor is broken. However, in the second place, (Herb Chambers) the technical report I got was saying that A/C is OK. Then I insisted and ask them to check the A/C once more. My "advisor" (!) Robert took me to the car, turned on the A/C and told me that it is blowing cold air. Then I said I think it is not cold enough, then he brought a fancy IR thermometer and we saw that temperature was floating between 50-70 F. I told him that it should be around 30-40 F (thanks to the videos I watch on Youtube! ) if it is fully turned cold. After somewhat long discussion, finally he was convinced to call the technician Paul. Then Paul found out that A/C compressor is actually broken, after I point out specifically! If you don't know it costs around $1000 to replace it, and it was missed by these gentlemen! The car I plan on buying values around $5000-6000. I am shopping for my first car, and recently started learning deeper about cars. Yet, I was the person who was teaching them how to do their job!

Don't go to this place if you are looking for a good inspection of your car. You don't even get to see the technician. You talk to some guy at the counter who calls himself advisor, but clearly needs an advice about cars. There are much better local mechanics that can be found in Yelp etc. who will do all the inspection for much much less price in 15-30 mins, without keeping a hold of your car for a whole day.

I will never bring my car here ever again. I recently brought my rav4 in for regular maintenance and safety recalls. They ended up replacing the alternator (squeaking noise), front brakes (warn), and spark plugs (mileage). It was around $1800 which is probably a complete rip-off especially since my car was driving completely fine when I dropped it off. As soon as I drove my car out of their lot it had an extremely rough idle and almost stalled when stopping at a light. I called immediately and scheduled to bring it back the next day. The next day they said they couldn't replicate the issue and said I just needed to drive the car for 30-40 miles after having that type of work done and the symptoms will go away. I continued to drive my car hoping it would go away and it just got worse. I brought it back a 2nd time and they said they couldn't replicate the symptoms again. They suggest that I road test with a mechanic next. The problem continued to get worse and my car actually started stalling when coming to complete stops. I came back in for the 3rd time and spoke with the mechanic directly. After a two minute conversion I was able to get him to fix the problem by agreeing to replace all of the spark plugs they had installed. I had several conversions with their service desk person who was never able to get the mechanic to fix the problem that they caused. Do yourself a favor and bring your car somewhere else!

He is knowledgeable, personable and not only did he give me a great deal, but he jumped through hoops to make sure that my entire experience was nothing short of excellent. My whole perspective on purchasing cars has changed for the better thanks to him. I can t recommend Thomas or this dealership enough! If you are looking to purchase a new/used car, definitely give Herb Chambers of Boston a call and ask for Thomas Ayers, I promise you will be glad that you did.

I had a GREAT experience buying my Honda Fit. My sales rep was Jose Yapul and he did an amazing job of recognizing that I'm the kind of shopper who needs to crunch numbers before I make a decision. He walked me through all my options and then let me think about it. No pressure, just putting all the facts on the table. That kind of respectful sales experience is absolutely a part of why I ended up going with Honda.

That respectful experience continued while working with the Finance Manager, Lascelles, on my paperwork. He also presented me with my various options and then let me make my decision, no pressure.

I also love the Fit itself. I ended up going with a 1 year used car instead of brand new, and the service team made it look so nice, my friends keep forgetting I bought used. An all-around great experience, I would definitely recommend checking out this Honda dealership.

Thomas Ayres was a great salesman. I asked for someone that was laid back and low pressure and I got what I wanted! I had done research on leasing Honda Odysseys and had offers from other dealers which I showed him. They matched the offer and got me in and out with paperwork for the new lease in very little time. I met with the dreaded finanance manager (where they try to sell you undercarriage protection etc etc...), and told him I wasn't interested in anything he was selling - this was why I buy hondas - they don't need any extended warranties etc. His name was Mohamed and he was also great. This is maybe the 7th or 8th car I've bought and it was the first good experience. Definitely will go back and hope that Thomas is still there in three years when we go to get another new van.

The salesman is OK, but the sales manager behaves extremely clueless. Keep away from this place unless you are willing to pay whatever they ask for.

I visited for a used car. It was normal when I first talked with a salesman, the initial price they offered was high but that is nothing unusually for a big dealer. Then weird thing happened, I was requested to talk to a "manager", who literally asked me to report the previous conversation with the salesman to him. Can you just ask your salesman? Why you hire him if he cannot be trusted?

In a second visit, we test drove the car and talked about the price. Before the visit, I got a ~2k lower price from a different dealer for a similar car. So I told the salesman their asked price was 2k higher than the other place, and I will consider only if they can lower the price to a similar range. The salesman made some attempts in lower the price, which made it considerable, then the manager came. Of course he asked me to repeat the conversation again, and totally ignored the salesman's offer about lower the price. He went back to the original price, did not want to make any offer, just cannot stop questioning the other dealer's price, and stated "you can talk to the state if you don't want to pay the tax". After 5min nonsense argument about "I need to admit his price is low so he can do a good job", I left without a handshake, and purchased from the different dealer 1 day later.

As a big dealer with plenty of new visitors everyday, maybe they simply don't need customers to return. And maybe it is too hard to find a grown-up manager that can physically say "yes our price is higher, but consider it and come back when you see better deals."

I had the best car shopping experience ever at this location. I told them everything I wanted and they worked with me in came in right what I needed. Paul is an exceptional car salesman I would never see anybody else but him. He goes above and beyond for his customers whether you buy or not. He has truly changed my car buying experience it makes me excited for my next I will be recommending Paul to everybody. Michael Bermudez was my salesman when I was looking at a Honda Fit. I ended up spending about a half an hour with him on a test drive as unfortunately, it was rush hour and a lot of traffic. He is soft spoken, not pushy at all and overall, a really nice guy. I felt like he gave me good information and knew his stuff. Highly recommend him!

Worst experience ever. They asked me: "What would it take to make this deal happen today?". After outlining what we wanted and signing the contract, we found out that what we were offered was not included. Since "you do not have what THEY [salesmen] promised in writing" there was no way management could prove they broke their promise.
They insist that they explained everything to us, but that is not true.
After talking to the General Manager- he kind of apologized, but asked me: "what's the big deal?" The one person that I thought could help us, turned out to ignore our problem. He ended up "fixing" the whole AWFUL, TERRIBLE experience with 2 free oil changes.... I felt humiliated but that offer, which I refused.

If you are planning on going there here is my advice:

- Make sure you ask ALL possible questions you might have.
- Do not assume they understand everything you are saying.
- Don't feel pressured by the time it is taking. They are there to "help you".
- Make sure THEY understand what exactly it is you want from them
- Make sure YOU understand what is that they expect from you.
- ASK them what are the next steps you have to take (we did, they said everything was taken care of, but obviously, it wasn't)
- Do not sign anything until your lawyer has read and approve the contract.

Other info:
We had a lease with Honda that was about to expired and went to Nissan. Nissan took care of the remaining payments. they took the Honda Odyssey and delivered back to Honda. Nissan took care of everything.

Our lease with Nissan was about to expire in 4 months, so we started browsing around to compare prices.

When the Salesmen at Honda Herb Chambers Boston asked us: "what would it take to make this happen?" We answered and explain what Nissan did for us. We wanted Honda to take care of everything.
Honda said they would.

When I came back to pick up our new car they told us that we had to bring the car back to Nissan and pay whatever Nissan would charge us.

They promised to take care of everything, but they broke their promise. Of course, they said that THEY NEVER promised to bring the car back to Nissan, etc... We were not told that!

I feel cheated, humiliated and very angry.

I won't tell you Not to go there, or that all salesmen are bad. I'm sure that there are great people working there, and I hope that if you decide to go there you have a great experience unlike us.

Saw an ad for a car I liked, made an appt to come in and see it. Then of course it sold before my appt. Fine, look at some other cars, find one I like, buy it, cash. That was Sept 2, today is the 26th, still no car. There is an issue with the title and it will be 7-14 more days until it comes in. They have called me twice, TWICE. What is wrong with these people???

From the moment I walked in, until that very last moment before I pulled off everyone there made me feel so welcomed and appreciated. Not only were those two guys really friendly they're also extremely efficient! Not once was I left feeling pressured or unsure of anything. They both went over every aspect of my purchase and answered every question I had thoroughly. This location really is awesome and I am beyond happy with my car I love it!

I've had mostly positive experiences here. One agent was a little short with me on the phone when I asked about towing, but other than that I've had two state inspections done here and in both cases everyone was friendly. It's easy to get an appointment if you call (I couldn't get the online booking to work), and their service department is open on Sundays, which is what led me to this place to begin with.
