We arrived here for an overnight getaway for our 15 year anniversary. We were early but able to use the pools while we waited so that was nice, except the registration desk forgot to give us towels so we wandered around wondering where the towels were. My husband got the best room in the hotel and it was $400 for one night. When we got in the room it was dusty on the furniture and clearly never wiped down, there was potato chips under the chair that weren't picked up, and a giant spiderweb and spider in the window. The couch was ripped and worn. The rest of the room was quaint and old. The shower had been updated. The carpets were dingy and the room had a musty smell. For that price, it was ridiculous to not walk into a pristine room. I can only imagine what the lesser expensive rooms were like. When we laid in bed, a dead bug fell on us. The pools were lovely and everyone was well behaved. The kids pool is close to the adult pool but it was totally fine. We weren't in the pools really late so I can't comment on that. They have all sorts of rules posted but absolutely zero people walking around to enforce anything. You have these wrist bands but I'm not sure of the purpose with no one around. There is an adult pool but no one to enforce it (it was all adults so it was fine) but if you need someone for something, good luck! The copper room was great. We had the breakfast buffet in the hotel and the food was pretty good. The omelet was nice. I would call it on the higher end of expense at $22 but it is a buffet in a resort hotel. Overall, we would come back for the copper room. I wouldn't spend the money to spend the night there as it is overpriced for what you get (you're paying for the pools) but if we could drop in to use the pools that is what I would do next time. I'm just not sure that is an option. It's a real shame as the pools are so nice but the rooms are just nasty... Seeing as they are the only ones with pools they can get away with it.

They have an old section and a new one to choose from. The pools are great and the spa has so many types of services. Walk out the front door to the lake and walk the path. Many little shops and restaurants all around. Makes for a great romantic trip or fun family trip with lots for the kids to do.

We spent two nights here with a "Seniors Getaway Package" that included our room, breakfast each morning in the Lakeside Cafe and dinner one night in the Copper Room. Spent several relaxing hours in the warm pools and we took a two-hour lake cruise.

Worse than poor. We didn't even get to go, girls trip planned months in advance, show up around 5pm, took forever to find the "riverside" motel, which is so much worse than it sounds, a long dark walk outside of their secure parking lot, dirt in the corners, stains on the carpet kind of deal. Went back to tell them we weren't happy with it and they informed us that the entire town was booked up. Didn't even want to refund us because it was within their 72 cancelation period. After looking online, we found many scathing reviews about being blindsided with a terrible experience at the riverside. Really terrible that they try to pass that off for a resort. After calling many times to get a manager they finally decided not to make us pay for a room that we didn't use. So late in the day and nowhere to stay we had to drive to Langley to find somewhere. Really disappointed.

The cottages were great. Only real complaint is that rules were very loosely enforced around the pools. A lot of heavy drinking in the adult pools in the evening and the "quiet pool" was anything but. Other than those minor complaints all in all it was a good experience. Cottages cost a bit more but are worth it for the added privacy. Wish that they would add a microwave and include dishes as we had to bring our own dishes and have food that didn't require heating.

Check-in was a long drawn out process with only two employees trying to process over 40 guests. Our room was very small for three people and appeared old and scruffy looking. There was no air conditioning - just an old rotating desk fan. The main spa pool was indoors. It was OK. But kids gathered at a large outdoor heated pool early in the morning until Adult Time in the evening. This pool appeared just to be a heated swimming pool. With dozens of kids at any given time and no convenient toilets, we could guess how many kids simply peed in the pool. Had high hopes, but will not go back.

Beautiful resort with enough pool/hot spring choices. Within a short distance, you will be able to see attractive and beautiful nature. The shores of the beach are pretty while walking a few steps. Refreshes the spirit. There is a fun place in the area.

Pools were very crowded and loud. Towels, bathrobes and bedding were all super cheap. There was a 30 minute wait just to check in. There was no shower gel. Paid extra for a premium room but it was still tiny. Checkout time is too early. Way overpriced.

It was alright. We stayed in heritage building, kind of tucked in a back corner. Basic room, nothing fancy or added for the price we payed for one nights stay ($200). Hot springs were nice temperature and well lit. It was busy however and slightly crowded. The firepit by the outdoor pool was a nice added feature and the gardens, ohh the gardens were beautiful (so perhaps this is a result of the high priced rooms ). Staff were very friendly, but only having one bartender for the huge dining room as well as the poolside bar was not efficient to say the least. When we first arrived the line up to check in was ridiculous! The valet parking attendant said it was not normal, but not sure about that. We went for dinner instead and came back when the chaos had cleared. Overall the town of HHS is lovely and has its own charm, this resort however should reconsider price of rooms as not all are equal.

Great place to go on holiday. The bedrooms are clean and beautiful, usually with a view of the lake or garden. The pools are warm and relaxing. There's even free tea in the afternoon. The Copper Room serves exellent food. 5 stars!

Wonderful atmosphere that s wrapped in history . Spectacular lobby area . The Cooper room has a great evening buffet . Friendly staff and good service . If you have an electric vehicle there are only 3 charging stations, 2 of which are Tesla and one generic . It was a challenge to find a free station . People plug in and do not love their cars for extended times .
The hotel sold for 32 million years ago and needs some updating . It s owned now by a Asian company but run by the prior ownership group. Winter stays are magical .

Small room, they didn't give us an upgrade to a better room. They use to allow you to use the hot pools until you wanted to leave after checking out, now they allow 1 hour after checkout and wouldn't provide us with a late checkout. The room had a small twin bed, when we asked why we didn't receive the queen bed we though we reserved, we were told they don't guaranty what size of bed you will end up with. Paid 250$ to sleep on a twin sized bed

This resort charged my visa even though I cancelled my reservation. When confronting them about this I was met with rude and uninformed desk staff, who were not only rude and uninformative , but also gave me false information. After speaking to manager a full week later, she was also useless and unapologetic. She gave me the run around for days and offered no resolution. My money has still not been returned. "Update" the management is argumentative, rude and are still taking no responsibility for they're actions! They are now lying and saying that I didn't cancel my reservation to try to make it seem like it my fault! I cancelled my reservation on their on line link and was then told by the desk staff that I also needed to call the front desk to cancel???? Why is this option available if it does not fully cancel the reservation. If there is more steps to complete then this should be stated in web site. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

I try to come here at least once a year. The rooms are clean, but nothing overly special. But I'm not there for the rooms, I'm there for the hot springs! So nice and relaxing. My favourite is probably the indoor pool that is on the "cooler" side to float around and do gentle laps in. I always feel so rejuvenated after leaving.

We stayed in the heritage building, very vintage set up. I wouldn't recommend in the summer due to heat and having no air conditioning in the suits. The resort itself is very nice, with beautiful views front face of the hotel. I really enjoyed the hot springs and being able to swim at night with the open tiki bar. Looking forward to going again!

Stayed here for 2 nights in April and absolutely loved it. We stayed in a cabin away from the main resort, it was well equipped with a bedroom, bathroom and living room with fridge, sofa, TV and fireplace. It was very clean and quiet. The highlight of the stay was the pool area, with 5 pools, all filled with natural hot springs spa water, ranging from warm to hot. There were plenty of sun loungers to relax and enjoy the sun, and we had a lovely soak in the spa in a hot springs spa water bath. I would highly recommend this for a relaxing weekend away.

I absoutley cannot believe my stay at this hotel. The first room we stayed in was in the heritage part of the hotel but don t let that fool you. It s the hotel s way of saying the old, under kept part of the hotel. There were stains on the carpet, wallpaper, furniture and sheets. There was more soap scum and rust in the bathroom than I have ever seen. After the shock of the state of the room we noticed there was a diabetic blood test left on the floor between the bed and the side table. We were kindly upgraded after bringing the state of the room to the staff s attention and once we got into the new room, we found a used tissue in one of the drawers. We are absoutley disgusted with our stay. We went to get food at the bar at 10:15 which clearly stated food service till 11 and we were met with a rude employee stating they were closed .... we then went to get a pop from a vending machine and paid 4.15 for a bottle of pop. We will never stay here again and please don t waste your money.

Got good price from Expedia , in the old building but better then 10 years ago & easy to poolside. Cooper Room dinner was great , order scallops for appetizer , very delicious.
3 course dinner for good price .good service form Kelly , I ask to refill my hot tea water , she even changed a new cup . Some people made nosy at night time . But comfortable after from in & out door pools. Is good one day trip to this place if you got a good deal

My time in the Hot Springs was great. I honestly was only in the pools for 15 minutes over my three day stay. BUT, I enjoyed my time at the resort and the neighboring area a lot. It is a very quaint town with lots to do.....until early evening. This is not your bar and or nightclub destination. That s okay though. Relaxation was exactly what the doctor ordered and the people I met were as top notch as that. Enjoy your time and don t forget sandals......I did.

the decor looks like a retirement home from the year 2001 but otherwise it is a huge favourite for everyone I know. you can walk around the whole property in bathrobes- it us cozy and casual. Bring flipflops. I love the fireplace and sofas in the huge lobby. they have Starbucks drinks in the coffee shop are good. The staff at Island bar are super friendly and you can get drinks to go, take them to the pool etc. the views across to the lake are epic no matter what time of year.

Great lil getaway for my Birthday But a lil dissapointed that the restaurant was closed by 11am as I was looking forward to having a nice breakfast in the hotel before heading back home. They sent me to the lil coffee shop. HUGE line up to check in with only 2 people working the front desk. Had to ask for blankets as they only had sheets on the bed. And had a amaZing dinner at the restaurant. Fish and chips are too die for!!!!! AmaZing Ceasar drinks by the bartender but my waitress kept coughing through her mask as we were giving our food order and she just kept standing next to me not even turning her face. I would have excused myself or apologized but she was blank, dropped off our drinks is and walked away. Oct 25th night shift 8-9pm. Then we had a great waitess bring out our food PHEW!!!! The other gal had zero manners for such a Grand Hotel.

Went here with a group of friends and got an amazing group rate for renting a room for just the day! The front desk staff was amazing- very accommodating and went above and beyond to help us out. Rooms are beautiful. The pools were very nice and relaxing, especially the hot tub. My only complaints were that (1) the pools weren t necessarily the cleanest, because of all the trees above them; and (2) the indoor pools had signs indicating that they were quiet areas , but there was a lady doing quick sprints across the pool the entire time- splashing very loudly and bothering everyone. A good suggestion would be to have staff come check every once in awhile that people are abiding by the rules. Otherwise, great experience for an amazing price!

Our first visit was in early October '18. 2 adults + 2 kids (5 & 7) for 2 nights. We booked a 2- queen room in the east tower. Very clean room. Very comfy beds. Housekeeping kept us well stocked with dry towels and robes. We spent no less than 4 hours in the hot springs pools each day. We Loved our stay and will return.
Pros
Beds are very comfy!
East tower rooms are nearly soundproof!
Starbucks in the lobby!
Pool bar for the grownups.
Main pool is 98deg and on 3.5ft deep. Perfect for kids to play and adults to relax without worrying about kids getting in too deep.
Plenty of restaurants surrounding the resort providing a variety of choices and many takeout options.
Lakeside playground is a nice change of pace for kids.
Cons
No breakfast room service. Dinner roomservice only.
Line for breakfast at the buffet during peak hours.
Recommendations
Bring robes for the kiddos and your own if you'd prefer something more cozy than the hotel provided waffle cotton.
Bring flipflops for everyone.
Bring air mattresses for the kiddos to give everyone a relaxing night sleep.
Bring your own beachtowles. The resort provides towels but they're pretty basic.
Bring goggles and beachballs for the pools.
Bring glow sticks for the pool at night.
Pack plenty of snacks and bottles of water to extend your stay at the pool.
Be prepared for a crowd on the weekend.
Enjoy!

Overall a great experience. It isn't easy to get a resort feel and they have managed to do it nicely. Beautiful gardens. Not a lot of inexpensive food choices though.
