Absolutely the best hospital around. Every single doctor and nurse were amazing. Excellent attitudes, fast help and overall very knowledgeable. The social workers are great and helped me get my meds. I was extremely scared to go and they made it the best it could be for the situatio .

Harris is one of the best hospitals in the region....

Harris is one of the best hospitals in the region. Both my elderly parents have stayed at Harris over the past year several times. They continue to take great care of them and even though they are quite difficult at times, the staff is very patient with them. I'm truly amazed. Given the state of health care and the cost challenges hospitals are confronted with, Harris appears to give that extra effort in patient care. I can't thank the nurses enough for taking such good care and treating my parents like human beings. They have so much compassion and are very caring. Rarely you see a "cold fish". You can tell their standards are high.

Only one area peeves me about the Hospital. Given the long stays my parents have had, you have to pay for parking. There are NO FREE parking spots unless you're visting a physician at one of the complexes surrounding the hospital. For patient visitors, it's up to $5 a day. In every other hospital I've stayed at or visited in the DFW area, this is the only hospital that I am aware of that charges for parking. What a shame. I must also add that the parking attendants and the dispatcher are VERY RUDE!!! Very bad attitude these folks have. Even though a separate company owns the surrounding parking garages, I have to give the hospital a lower rating otherwise they would get an Excellent.

They are all for enforcing the visitor/Covid procedure unless your doing their work for them, then they encourage you to stay 24/7!!!!
If your loved is a fall risk...better stay 24/7 as apparently fall risk Means absolutely nothing to the staff!

Feel this way!! It s what happened! Just fix it. I m too busy taking care of my wife at home to be wasting my time discussing this issue that you likely already know about! . I pulled her out of the hospital because her care was horrible. I was there almost 24/7 but as soon as I had to leave for just a few hours I get a report that she fell!

Then when I came back they would not let me help her to the bathroom because she was a fall risk! Well I m not the one that let her fall!!!! It was a nightmare for me. Can t imagine how it was for my wife.

This hospital is not a bad hospital...it depends on the doctor & nurses you get...some are extremely nice & actually care for there patients and some are just trying to get you out of the hospital asap and prescribe you a bunch of pain pills that you do not need...its a hit or miss really...7 out of 10 times that i went it was great & doctors were caring.

CoVid precautions are way below standard here. I ...

CoVid precautions are way below standard here. I am almost under the impression that they do not care if you get exposed. I have seen higher precautions taken at a store. Went to the emergency room with N95 mask and eye protection and disposable gloves. At the door we were told to remove our mask and other PPE and put on blue paper surgical mask. The box is on a common table at the entrance where they are not sterile as everyone is to reach in immediately upon entering and place it on face.and Therefore this box is being reached into by everyone who enters the Hospital prior to using hand sanitizer. I refused and said I wanted to keep my N95 mask on. I was refused service. None of the attendants in the lobby were wearing any mask other than a blue paper surgical mask. Very confused, but have heard hospitals are getting extra money for covid cases, so that might be why this hospital is creating an environment less than sterile. I will avoid Texas Health care network as much as possible after this experience.

Also, I called prior to arriving to find out the precautions as well. They were very vague and about all they told me was no one waits in the lobby and they go straight to a room but I had to pull that out of them. If they would have told us the process we would have avoid stress of going and found another hospital and saved them a bad review. However, I am glad I am able to share this review with others that are concerned about CoVid precautions. Also, if a hospital attendant can not explain their CoVid policies then either no one is following them and they are not enforced or they have none. Shameful.

Horrible service. My mom was just discharged and her stay was just a horrible experience. The ER doctors and nurses were amazing, the were attentive and actually tried to help. The doctors and nurses on the main hospital were a whole other thing. They kept ignoring my mom's symptoms and the doctor, believe his name was Dr. Joshua Earl, had the audacity to tell us her severe itchiness(it was really bad) was because of dry skin and suggested she put on moisturizing lotion!! He didn't bother to check if she had developed an allergy to the antibiotics she was being given or any other medicine, apparently it was just dry skin in his opinion, as if dry skin will cause you to want to rip your skin out. And instead of running more tests for her chest pain, which she said was an 8 out of 10, the doctor told her it was "Maybe, MAYBE just muscular pain." he also repeatedly had to ask her if she was diabetic (she is not)....but this was the same doctor who was in charge of her for the last 24 hrs and the man didn't even bother checking her chart, bias king her that he let us know that he hadn't even paid attention to her chart and medical history. On her last day at the hospital she was told by the doctor that it was up to her if she wanted to stay or not...She was still having chest pains and severe itchiness, yet they weren't going do anything else and were giving her the option of leaving or staying. I am disgusted with them. She choose to leave, since it was very clear they were not going to do anything else, on her discharge papers it said to come back to the ER if "she was having chest pains, severe itchiness, and felt breathless." The same symptoms she was having at the moment... Her nurses also didn't call for transportation to have her taken to the main entrance for pick up. and when she asked when they would be taking her down her nurses said to leave by herself because there was no one to do it. they didn't offer to show her the way or to take her down themselves. About 30 minutes later someone finally arrived and brought her down to the pick up area.
I understand that hospitals are full right now, but that does not excuse their attitude and the way they treat patients. Im beyond disgusted by the way she was treated here, I made a mistake by choosing this hospital, next time I will drive the 40 minutes to the Keller location instead.

I don't usually give bad reviews, but this hospital is gonna be the first to get it. If i could give them a 0 star, I would. COMMUNICATION among doctors and nurses was terrible. My wife was admitted and she wasnt given any food for 24 hrs because apprently a doctor said so. The next day, her doctor came and she asked if she could eat. Guess what, SHE COULD EAT all along. They were taking blood samples 2x a day and she wasnt sble to eat. A few hrs b4 her discharge, her lung doctor said that she was good to go and just make a follow up appointment the following week, however when her main doctor came, she was told that they would need to verofy with lung doctor if she could go because her chart was npt updated, so more waiting!!

Because of the covid outbreak no visitor is allowed, so i called the nurse station to get some clarification about my wife's situation.. the nurse i talked to was rude and told me she didnt know what was going on ( that was my wife's nurse)..

This was not the first time it happened to us. When my wife gave birth, the nurse received the msg to discharge us at 10am. The nurse left at 230pm withput telling us. So, her OB came at 630pm to apolpgize to us.

AVOID THIS HOSPITAL IF U CAN!

Big Big shout out to Rhonda the patient advocate. She was great in helping our family and cut through the red tape and find out the information we need.

Another shout out to ER nurses. Even though they were slammed and our family had to wait over 30 hours for an Mri they were well attended too and pain was.managed.

I Wish that I could give this Emergency Room a Negative 10 (-10) stars.
My visit this morning was HORRIBLE! The ER Dr., says 'other surgeons don't like to operate on patients who have had previous surgery for the same condition' And that he didn't want to give me Any pain meds that I 'might become addicted to'. So, I left the ER Still in the Same amount of Pain.
I Would NOT recommend This ER to my Worst Enemy!!!

The anesthesiologist gave me a spinal instead of an epiderral, she said it was an accident. Then I started hemorrhaging after birth and they didn t have a doctor, I waited an hour to see a doctor and the nurses were stopping the bleeding with medication. It still wouldn t stop, the nurse told me that I could die!
Scariest experience of my life! I ll never go back. They were understaffed and not watching my bleeding because they were doing a shift change.

Usually this hospital is my go to place. I have ha...

Usually this hospital is my go to place. I have had several serious emergencies over the years. However, tonight was horrible. We came in at 2am. So far have been waiting 6 hours just to be seen. I overheard another guy say he has waited 10 hours and the nurse say someone else has been here for 12! For the amount of money the er charges you would expect at least some type of speed. The rehearsed line of "no beds in the back" makes you wonder how many people do they have working in the "back". Many people waiting could be seen and released with a 15 minute evaluation. If no beds are available set up a station to see the none life threatening emergencies that do not require a bed.
While typing this a man asked to see a social worker and he would need to wait another 4-5 hours to see them!
The weather right now is dangerous to be out in so you would think many of those waiting to be seen did not drive out here for fun.
Another idea is to let people know of the wait times prior to sitting here for hours. They could have the choice to go somewhere else.
Someone needs to evaluate the work flow in the "back" and see where the improvements NEED to be made because something is not working or maybe "someones" are not working.
It is a shame because this is a beautiful hospital and I always recommended it but that is not the case any longer after tonight.

***Update***
After 14 hours. Once we made it back the staff was fast and efficient. Found out that most of the issue was not the hospital's fault. However, I do feel they could have had an exam room for non life threatening emergencies to get people in and out quickly.

I had major surgery on February 4th and I can't say enough good things about my treatment at Harris. From the time I arrived for the surgery till I went home 3 1/2 days later I was treated so well. The doctors, nurses, aides and the ladies that brought me my meals, every one of them were friendly, kind and helpful. I was very impressed with everyone and they really helped to make my time in the hospital pleasant and comfortable. I just wish I remembered all their names so I could name them each personally in this review.

I had to come in for complications with strep throat. I was a lot of pain and since this is a Sunday, I was unable to go to my ordinary physician. EVERY SINGLE NURSE that came to visit me was very kind and considerate and answered all my questions. They got me in and out quickly. Thank you so much for the wonderful service!

Horrible ER experience for cardiac patient. Arrived at 3:00 am & at 1:30 pm had still not received regular meds, any food or drink or been provided any updates. Was told at 6:30 am he would be moved to a room. Understand hospital was full & rooms not available but no staff checked on patient or provided updates. When staff was asked they seemed put out. Very unprofessional. Will never utilize this facility again.

Very poor service. Not once did anyone change my sheets. I ended up asking for them and doing it myself. During my week stay no one cleaned the floor. My food trays would stack up until someone noticed I had trays stacked up along the window. It became a game to see just how many I could stack before someone would finally take them. Because of what I was dealing with I couldn't cover myself I had to repeatedly ask for my door to be shut. Even asking did not guarantee that the door would be shut. I always had to check before getting up to use the restroom. I will never use this hospital again. It use to be a really nice place. It has really gone down hill. I would not recommend anyone go here for anything. You may leave more sick. My trash was finally emptied when I was being let go home.

I went to Harris to emergency! Was put in a room had left leg broken.at Harris the staff is wonderful I had the best nurses male and female on 4 the floor.but I must admit catheter was taken out 3 days later and I was imobile.couldnt get up but used a ( men's) catheter to try and pee in and dumped in a waste basket beside my bed don't know why it was overlooked.but I do love harris.girl in MRI x-ray shouldn't have tried to xray me or move me as I had no pain medicine to be moved like that both bones broken in left lower leg.im sorry but I screamed and grabbed her.she got so angry and told me there were people that had bones sticking out Thier leg didn't hollar that much.she told everyone.i was so imbarrased.my whole floor knew.guess they knocked me out.after.what she didn't know is both my bones in left leg broken in half under knee no controlling my leg.she was awful.rest of my stay was good.but my doctor that was called in to do the job has not done my leg right.but still I think Harris is one of the best.just bad luck with doctors .and girl in x-ray very unproffestional.but I'd rather be at Harris any day than jps.

My mother was in this hospital in October 2017. She was 83 yrs old and had fallen and she had to have hip surgery. After surgery while she was in ICU, one of the nurses pulled tape off her hand and mother was screaming. They gave mother dilaudid to knock her out. That incompetent nurse pulled all the skin off on her hand. It looked really bad for a long time. Then when they took her back to her room, she still hadn't woke up from the dilaudid they gave her. My dad got concerned about her breathing so he got the head nurse in there and she called the doctor. The doctor had them to drain the dilaudid out of mother's system. So not only did they skin her alive, they almost killed her by overdosing her to shut her cries up from the pain of ripping off her skin. I lost my mother a month ago today. I'm sorry that she had to suffer even more because of incompetent nurses. And not one person came to her aid in ICU while she was screaming. Her hand turned black and I have photos to prove it.

I would give it 5 stars if some of the staff knew what they were doing. I had surgery on March 5,2018. I was taken in the back to prep before surgery at 8:30am. Nurse Joy obviously is not knowledgeable of inserting IVs. She started on my left hand, rolled my vein. Then took it out & decided to put it in my left forearm, she got it in but blood was everywhere. She did not tell me what she was doing during the time she was in there with me. While charting in my chart she lays the folder on my legs to do it....so unprofessional! when in recovery I wake up to a nurse giving me ice no explanation of anything except what time it was when I asked. Being moved to my room....the man just unlocked the brakes to the bed & took me to my room. Never said a WORD to me. I get to my room on the 2nd floor my nurses & PCT s were the BEST! They tried flushing my iv on my left forearm & it was clogged. Omg the pain. My nurse removed it & I was bruised on my hand & forearm for over a week bc of JOY ! My stay on the second floor was great. Loved all my nurses & PCT. one of my PCT got wrote up bc she was upset with the cafeteria for my breakfast not arriving after we ordered. 2 hours later after she got onto them they show up. It was too late I was about to be discharged to go home. I m very upset that she would get in trouble for going above & beyond for her patient.

P.S I stayed in the Richardson Tower!

This is a review of labor and delivery and the mother/baby unit. I just gave birth a few days ago and need to give praise where it s due. My anesthesiologist, Kat, was incredible. Absolutely amazing. I had a planned c-section that turned out to be more difficult than expected. She literally held my hand the whole way- did everything she could to comfort me and talk me through each step. I felt like I was safe in her hands. She was a god send.
After delivery, in the mother/baby unit, I had more issues arrive that were scary for me. Every single nurse I had during my stay made me feel taken care of and listened to. Sonya, Ahron, Jordyn, and Teresa- you ladies are what nursing is all about. These women are in the medical field for the right reasons, because they are compassionate and want to help. I applaud each one of you. Thank you for making a touch delivery and recovery a little bit better!!!!!

My wife and I welcomed our son into the world at this hospital. We didn t expect much but to have a healthy baby boy, and great service. This review is related to the awesome women in the Labor and delivery unit. We all love empathy when going through a trying time. We definitely received this. We had a nurse named Irene that I highly regard. She was so attentive, detailed, proud (her energy actually confirmed this was not just a job for her), and informative. She made my wife feel 100% at ease. Then we had nurse Regina. She had a very good spirit. She was informative, and provided great care. She had so much advice for my wife, which was great. Nurse Rebecca also attended to my wife. She is awesome. She made our baby boy feel okay when examining him, and that made the stress level of mom go down. These nurses displayed empathy, professionalism, and great patience. For this I want to say you are all great, and should be the standard for what you all do. I d recommend this hospital for delivery of your little one, and if I go down this road again, I will definitely request one of those women. Hospital administrators should definitely use you all for any customer service related trainings. God Bless.

I do not recommend this hospital at all because they do not give good service to patients and not
They inform the relatives nothing of how their relative is doing. My sister entered the hospital on January 31, 2021 at dawn, they only told my son that he could not enter with her as a girl with special problems, she had to leave her alone and on Monday 1 February at 11:30 PM, they called only to tell us that my sister was not responding how she was going to respond if she was already dead.
Not one of us has been told that she died, it is very hard and sad that in these times we are going through such a tough and difficult situation that we as a family are going through without an answer from the hospital.

Worst hospital ever. My mother had brain surgery and they implanted an infected catheter into her head which caused bacterial meningitis and sepsis... then, the put in her picc line 10 cm into her heart which could have caused her to have a heart attack and die. So those are 2 things that could have killed my mother all because of carelessness. Oh and one of the nurses wouldn't come help my mom go to the bathroom so she ended up going on herself. Absolutely will NEVER go back to this hospital or send anyone there.

If I could give zero stars I would. The visit I had was rushed and lacked efficiency.

Car accident in January fast forward to June, attorney office request medical records and payment given; cause they won't give you anything without being paid first.

It is now October and I have no records! I called two weeks ago and was promised they would be sent out and call back later in week for tracking number. I call back and wow! I'm sorry they haven't been sent out. I asked for a supervisor and get transferred. This lady says sorry it was mistake and there's nothing she can say except not everyone knows what they're doing. She guarantees me the records will be sent out Monday 10/9/17 and call in Wednesday for the tracking number.

I called today and the first guy I spoke with says sorry they haven't been sent out, it's waiting for sign off to process. I request a supervisor and now she says oh they were mailed yesterday and provides me a tracking number. Currently I can't see anything regarding the progress of this package but I know it can take 48 hours to update.

The fact that this is impacting my credit is ridiculous. This accident put me behind and I've been playing catch up ever since. I don't understand how you can continue to say oh sorry it'll be taken care of. I can't imagine such inefficiency in a hospital! Is this the care you give your patients?! Oh wait. It is I remember from the visits I've had.

These damn documents had better be on their way and there should be a return credit for having to wait over 3 months!

I'm at Harris Methodist ER as I write this. My wife had brain surgery (elsewhere) a few days ago. She had a seizure this morning and the Medstar took her to Harris Methodist. After waiting from before 8 AM to 3 PM, a doctor came and prescribed anti-seizure medication, and discharged her.We left and had not even driven the 18 minutes it takes to get to the house, and she had another seizure on the way. Since we were almost home (down the street from our home), I called 911 and had them meet me at my house. They came and took her back to Harris Methodist, as they said since she was discharged within 24 hours from there, she had to go back there. Here I am in the waiting room almost midnight after waiting since 4:45 PM. The nurse didn't connect her to the monitoring equipment so that they could monitor her from outside until after 8 pm - if she had had another seizure and I wasn't in there, they never would have known. They said they will transfer her to a regular room and are admitting her. It's been 7 hours since they said that, and still we wait in the small ER room. Its LOUD outside of her ER room due to the staff hollering to each other from across the halls and laughing and cutting up - it sounds like a college keg party, and when my wife wakes she is in excruciating pain. 5 stars ? I'll be surprised if I don't call my lawyer by this time tomorrow.

I have to give this place at least 1 star to write the review. This used to be the best hospital & I would always make the drive just to come here. After being accused by a doctor that I came there for pain meds when my whole purpose for coming there was to make sure that my back was okay and that nothing was wrong, I will never return. I ve had surgery in the past and it is not my fault what doctors in the past have chosen to prescribe me. All I can say is, I can t wait to get the survey on my thoughts from my visit in the mail.

Today 6-13-17, my sister and her husband went there, as my brother in law has sickle cell, turns out, through all the working, football coaching, picking up / feeding / making sure that these boys get to the games on time, he some how got pneumonia, and then it turns out he needed a blood transfusion too, so this is the hospital that he has been coming to for years on years, and today was the worst experience of his entire life. For starters, the doctor was in a completely piss poor mood and immediately begins to ask if he is having any discharge or burning from his below areas, this doctor entered the room and immediately began the biasness, then the so called nurses came in and had no bedside manner at all, my brother in law, being the patient, asked them not to do a certain procedure on him, dealing with needles and how they do his transfusions, and they did it anyway, and the last time they did it, it caused his arm to be swelled up and practically useless for a complete month, and they stuck the needle too close to his heart! now what medical book did we learn these techniques out of? The hospital Placed them on the 6th floor, and when my sister asked what the name of the floor was, they wouldn't tell my sister what the name of the floor was, then my sister repeatedly asked the doctor what was his name, as he deliberately turned his badge around so noone could see it, again! where we learn these techniques at? Then when my sister ask him his name again, this joker gets mad that she had the doggon audacity to ask him a question like that, so he again with his biasness, decided that now my brother in law was going to have to give a urine sample, so he does and the urine is still sitting in the room from this morning! Again, where we learn that at? The room is filthy and disgusting and should never have any patients in it, poorly trained staff and doctor, who evidently thinks all blacks are living some type of way cause he quickly assumed they were in there because he had an STD! But they came to a hospital that they have been going to for years and years, and thought they could trust this place and its workers in it to take care of a sick loved one, but ohhhh were we sadly mistaken, because they didn't care at all, my brother in law getting sick was a complete nuisance to them! And ohhhh I can't forget the blood transfusion mishap, well the bag of blood somehow mysteriously busted and the untrained nurse tries to tape it up, so that they can continue to use it on my brother in law! WHAT!!!! Where we learn that at? This is a terrible hospital today, and I remember working there many years ago, and the staff was very professional, but now, I would never tell anymore of my loved ones to come to this hospital, because I truly fear and wonder if they will walk out of there, if they do, I'm certain they won't be the same, and my brother in law was admitted this morning, and we are terrified to leave him there alone, when he comes in for a sickle cell crisis, they give him morphine and today they wanna give him a knock off of hydrocodone! Which really wont do anything for his sickle pain. My sisters having been in the medical field, and are very smart and because they are smart, she took photos too.

My sister was involved in a hit and run. After she woke up after 2 days they notified us. Nurses are rude and got hostile with us several times I'm assuming because my sister was hostile because she was also withdrawing. They never attempted to give her meds to calm her. She had broken and fractured bones and they only gave her pain meds. She was allowed to sign herself out having no where to go and they knew this. I would NOT reccomend this hospital to anyone. They dont know how to treat human beings regardless of life choices.

The nurses were wonderful. Unfortunately I found out that she was dying of Dementia. Your social worker accused me of being under the influence of something which was destresing to say the least. She ordered me out of my Mother s room, when my Mother was under the influence of Delerium and stating things like it was 1976. No gave me any answers as what kind of Dementia she s had. She is the only family I have. They accused me of asking the same questions, not caring that I was in shock. The social worker refused to give me any information and the nurse in the room told me callousnessly that there was no hope. The blond social worker refused to get anyone else. I never refused to leave but they threatened to call security. I even apologized to them. My Mother doesn t even recall last week and I found out that your staff reported me and I couldn t see my Mother in the convalescing home. No one gave me any evidence and the social worker said that I was welcome to come see her. Your people also didn t inform my of refusing to see my Mother. In fact, they said I could come back the next day. They said I up set Mom, yet she was in Dementia and Delirium to remember that. It would have been nice if like most of the nurses, and not sitters, actually cared about my concerns too. Your third floor social worker could use some compassion too.
