Had my son there and my experience was horrible. First when i asked for them to call my husband they told him i was getting diacharged when i was in labor so he missed it. Then they were suppose to start my labor which they said i would have him the next day but when the intern was suppose to insert a ballon then i just heard her say she put double the amount of water so she made me bleed out which caused me to have an emergency c section. The worst part when they took me in for my c section they didn't give me anything they just cut me open if i didn't scream from the pain they might have never put me to sleep.

My girlfriend survived getting shot in the eye, the worst thing either of us have ever been through. I don't even know where to start, Hmmm. maybe the nurse putting a blood pressure cuff on my girlfriends I.V. ??? No... how about the fat black security guard hitting on patients while we just needed directions to get to my lady's room... Or could it be that 90% of the staff can't be understood because the don't speak clear English... OH wait here's one for you, how about that we cannot go home for a month because they did not ask if we live in high elevation... They used a gas that cannot go in high elevation in her eye! Frequent confusion, if one doc tells you something, you can be sure another doc will tell the exact opposite. Thank god this incompetent staff was able to save my girlfriends life! I could write a fricking novel on how much I hate this place, but so thankful my Girlfriend is alive.

I had a great experience, I came to urgent Care about 730 the key is be there first one there, the Dr that seen me was awesome, he was kind and funny, the X-ray tech was sensitive and sweet too, took his time because my arm was broken, there nurses were very kind and just bringing smiles, the Ortho drs we're fast on what they needed to do, but we're sweet, I had to go in surgery, they explained what needed to happen, and you have to remember the Dr are kinda new drs but I trusted them, they are very precised and want it to be perfect, I had a great experience, I'm very thankful for them, thank UCLA harbor for taking care of me the way you did, all staff!

The worst f***king hospital ever. they literally did nothing for my family while she was there. she was involved in a major car accident, had surgery and was in house care for 4 days. she complained of pain the entire time was never given medication to help with the pain. pain management team didnt come until 3 days after she was admitted. never saw her doctor the entire time. nothing was ever communicated to the nurses. she had a neck brece they took it off told her she was cleared then told her she wasnt and put it back on..... every time she pushed the button for the nurse they would take 30 plus mins to show up even when she had to use the restroom. If you dont want to see you loved one crying in pain the entire time their in a hospital when their suppose to be getting treated and have the pain lessened then dont take them here. seriously if there was a 0 star i would give it. we will never come here again.

Right now still waiting. Tenth hr. Did get blood work done and ultrasound. The lady in there didn't change the beets from previous girl. I know since I saw gel on the sheets. That was gross and then she asked me if I still had uterus. S though I would have been sent there!! No insurance so felt compelled to come here. Hope to be seen soon and some idea of what's going on in my belly.

This hospital needs to get their ish together. Communication between entities is poor. Nurses are bias and appear to only be their for a check. My child was brought to this hospital due to being a premie. My child s grandparents were always scrutinized when attempting visit mostly due to one of the nurses having a power issue. Avoid sending your CHILD here, if possible!!

I was referred to Harbor UCLA by Kaiser Perm. For a MRI spine on Aug. 20 at 2:45. I was taken to a waiting room and told to put on a hospital gown and wait for the attendant to return. I waited 45 min. And no one returned. I went out into the hall and saw no one. I knicked in several doors until I found the technician for the MRI machine. The tecnician said the machine was broken and he thought he could fix it in about 10 min . He said I was next. I waited 20 min more (now 4:00) and went back to talk to the technician. He was redoing the test of the patient scheduled before me (the 2:15 patient). Finally at 4:15 he said he was ready for me. He rushed me into the treatment room. And said he would only need 15 min to do the MRI. The machine was very old the tube was tiney and showed signs of wear. He said that it would be noisy and close. He put ear plugs in my ears and gave me an emergency button. I lasted about 60 seconds in the tube before I had a panic attack from all the previous stress and the fear that the machine was defective. I left and went home shaking. The girl who spent 2 hrs. In the treatment room left crying. Do not ever go to Harbor Ucla. I never did see the person who put me in the MRI waiting room again. When I left at 4:30 there was one person at the desk in the lobby.

I have been to this ER twice and to the hospital for two other procedures. Yes there is a wait at the ER but you guys.... This is a county hospital, what do you expect? Both times I was here I was brought into triage within the first 10 minutes and then back in to see the doctor within two hours. They put people on priority due to severity of reason (all hospitals do) if you go in for a tooth ache but someone has a back, brain, breathing or bleeding issue.... They will be seen first. This is how emergency rooms work. Of all the staff I have met here only one has been unfriendly (looking at you henriette) everyone else has been compassionate and really listened to me and done everything in their abilities to ensure my health is being taken care of. As a person with only emergency medi-cal insurance, I am forever grateful for harbor-UCLA and their willingness to treat those in need

When you have a baby, especially your first one, y...

When you have a baby, especially your first one, your experience should be something you look back on and smile about. My experience when I had my son here was horrible. The nurses and doctor in the delivery room were amazing and so sweet. They made sure I was comfortable and they tried they're best to make it a great experience. But after I had my baby I got moved to some other room next to labor and delivery. And oh my god I've never in my life been so mistreated by nurses before. I was given dirty looks, I hardly was checked on by the nurses, I was ignored when I told them I was in pain and the room I was in was dirty and they were extremely rude to me. I don't understand why. Is it because I'm a 19 year old mom? Is it my race? I don't understand what drove them to be so hateful towards me. I'm a medical student myself, this is no way to treat a patient we have rights, and if you have the audacity to treat people like garbage then maybe you shouldn't be in the medical field. To be a nurse you have to have something called compassion, which these nurses at harbor ucla were definitely lacking.

This was my first time as a patient at this hospital, I really thank the doctors at gynecology for the care and attention I received. The procedure to whole staff at coordinating my surgery. And to the staff to recover special thanks to my nurses, Anna and Jenny really the best attention ever. I can't thank every one enough. May God bless everyone and please continue your great labor on helping your patients. Thank you.

This place is digesting.

This place is digesting.
4 sick people in one room. No wonder people don't get better until heir health!!

This hospital hasn't even upgraded their damn TVs. They still have those TVs with the giant box in the back with limited English channels and one Spanish channel which is 34.

It's a damn hassle to find parking here, because doctors, nurses and the facility doesn't have their own parking lot!!!
I have to arrive an hour before my appnt to find parking.

Next, this hospital lacks in bilingual nurses. They are all Asian nurses. Not to be rude or racist.
They don't have patience to take care patients.

One of them gave my mom a bed pan to use the rest without helping her and then, practically through the wipes at her to clean herself afterwards.

Another nurse started yanking off the heart monitor cords in a rush that she also yanked off my moms IV. !!!!!

I don't understand how this hospital is still running under horrible medical staff and limited resources and horrible parking situation.

I recommend heading over to MKL Community Hospital. This is a great and amazing hospital that I regret not taking my mom to for her fourth emergency situation.

But definitely, consider MLK Community Hospital and you will see and feel the difference in between medical staff and their resources.

Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Front desk lady was very rude, very little assistance and when I was seen by the nurse she told me I would probably need to do a blood test and come back in the morning to a clinic...... Hmmmmm I need assistance now! But noooooo, so I got up and left. Never again

From what Ive heard the ER is absolutely terrible. However I DO NOT recommend anyone to have their Primary Doctor in this place. Your appointments would go on for weeks, possibly even months, and when you seriously need to see your doctor they''ll still make u wait a good 3 to 6 weeks. Not a good place if you need to see your doctor in a daily basis

I am on my husband's google account but I have to share my experience. I started going to harborUCLA faithfully when I found out that I was pregnant. It was all good up until I went in to deliver. The doctor that delivered my child had been there the 3 previous days since I was admitted. I truly doubt she got a good 8 hrs of sleep all together within those 3 days and because of that she was not patient with my child and ruptured nerves which caused brachial plexus in one of his arms. I am extremely grateful that it is not severe but I do blame her.

Emergency service is having to wait all day! I went in with a broken knee I checked into front desk service, the employees there are rude, unfriendly, unprofessional, unhelpful. I got here around 9 am for Emergency I was in very much pain needed asap service. After a few hours if waiting I had to go and ask what's going on am I next? How many people are before me, please help I'm in pain! All the girl said was I will give a note to your doctor and let knew know you are in pain. Around 3 pm they called me in what an Emergency service that is. I would definitely do not recommend this hospital not even to my worse enemy.

I'm in the emergency room since 5:00pm, it's 7:38pm (2 hours and 38 minutes later) and I've not been called to get my pressure even and I'm feeling each time worse and worse (difficulty for breath, back pain, cough, difficulty to walk even a short distance, etc). I'm watching people that is going into medical attention walking normally while people with serious illnesses like me still waiting. I wonder if they know someone inside. I don't recommend this hospital to anyone when we are talking about emergency at all.

Wow! Where do I start. Well here is my experience at our finest so call Harbor UCLA, love the fact that you have TSA gangsters! And then inside the lobby where the patients wait to be seen by our finest doctors and nurses, we mingle with the homeless that come in to lounge and sleep and have picnics at the round tables. But what shocks me is the security staff doesn't do anything to prevent them from coming in and taking the chairs for those who do need it its like they don't care.. 2 fights almost broke out with in the homeless females... I never got seen by any doctor. Very frustrating to see our dollars go down the drain..

My family and I took our father to Harbor for he w...

My family and I took our father to Harbor for he was having serious stomach pains, and that was Tuesday morning at 12:30AM. And we waited in the waiting room with VERY little assistance until up until Wednesday, 10PM, before leaving in obvious frustration! Just under 22 hours! We were constantly being pushed back in line by supposedly more important cases, but even these unfortunate souls waited a full day before anyone bothered to deal with their more serious injuries, including a head injury and a heart attack victim! In addition to our wait, my family were treated no better, if not worse, than the violent, handcuffed criminals and more 'unhinged' homeless being admitted to the emergency room by the majority of nurses! I'm guessing if you're some dangerous villain or pose a threat, these same nurses will treat you with human-like care and respectful courtesy. But if you're a fairly normal, well behaved person(s), forget it anything even resembling such! There were some good staff members who checked up on us, but they were very far and equally few in between, whose own positive actions were quickly and directly undermined and deliberately so by the aforementioned 'bad employees'. After being told we were going to wait another 12-or-more hours, we abandoned Harbor, and my mother even outright insulted the most offending of the ill tempered nurses is clear English and quite bluntly before we left - the reaction of total bewildered shock on all the nurses and clerks all showed on their faces to the remark was quite telling.

I m here with my wife because we re expecting and at first it was okay but as we stayed longer... the nurses would forget about you. We pushed the help button because my wife had to go to the restroom and they completely forgot about her. Not only that, we re allowed to bring 2 guest into the room. So I had my mom and my mother in law here but they said that I count as a guest!!!?!! Was I supposed to leave my pregnant wife just because I counted as a guest. I was really upset in the waiting room when I was just imagining my baby coming. Sorry for the long review but this hospital is not the best or ever will be.

Great county hospital for all. Everybody gets medical care w/o ability to pay. Level 1 trauma and all sub specialties are available. Since it's a teaching hospital patients will be seen by many doctors and team of physicians and hence decreasing any chance of errors. I would highly recommend this county facility.

Certain I would get better service and be seen faster at a veterinarian hospital. The nurse at the front desk was so curt... basically told me my wait time was not long enough compared to other patients who had been waiting for 10+ hours!!!
First, what does my wait time and medical issue have to do with theirs? Second, doesn t that in some way violate patient privacy? As my head continued to spin from being ill all I could do was burst into laughter.
The system is broken. Folks just don t care. I cry for people that are in more pain than me. Everyone (patients and staff) deserves better...

The doctors and nurses here are very friendly and knowledgeable. However, my uncle ended up passing away after he had been told that he would make it. (He had squamous cell carcinoma on his cheek) Not the hospitals fault, just life. It is a horrible thing to see someone you love so much suffer and have to die this way. Fortunately, he died at home and not alone in the hospital like so many others do. Overall, I do believe the doctors, medical students, and staff did the best they could.

Great with delivering babies but terrible with hospitality when it comes to listening about food. They don t care about the father or the other kids just the newborn and mommy. Literally, there is 3 patients in the ER department and all of us are wondering where the heck the doctor is and all the nurses are sitting around having fun with one another, and when we ask for help, they ignore us. Been here for over 6 hours, over an hour ago they said I was going home with a prescription. I'm literally sitting and waiting for one stupid prescription and none of the "attending" staff are doing anything!
Also, be careful, ALWAYS ASK WHAT MEDICINE THEY ARE GIVING YOU, I was prescribed medication I'm severely allergic to, and that information is in the system, so they knew about it.

The truth is not even a star deserves this hospital, take my wife because she was pregnant and sick with influenza. We last 6 HOURS !! And they never attended her, it is a great injustice that a human being can wait so long for a doctor to see her. The people who work here are extremely disorganized and have nothing of the manners or professionalism in the way they treat patients.
Better recommend going to torrance memorial or Kaiser than this hospital crap.

This hospital has the worst administrative staff in the region by far. I have had two family member have the misfortunate of having to have major surgeries at this hospital and each and every time, I am rudely spoken, to transferred to some random department or told that they can find someone or help me or direct me to a person who could help me find that person. These people act like they are flipping burgers or renting out some flea bag motel, I'm not complaining about my order here, I'm simply looking for information on a person who has been in your hospital for several hours or days, the least you can do, as the person who is getting paid to obviously answer the call is be polite!

An addition to my previous rating: one more area the doctors or staff need to focus on would be detailed care instructions on how to take care of certain surgical proceedures as I wasn't informed and as a result suffered consequences, however I could have made a call & asked but due to unfortunate circumstances had to jeapordize my injury as well as the healing process of it. But just some additional factors to take into consideration.
