This place is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you will get.

My first time here I had snickering, condescending "staff" attending to me who were making fun of my ailments.

I had a surgery here that turned out perfectly!!!! APPLAUSE!!!!

I have other hot and cold stories. So as you go in, just hope for something good!

If l am allowed to name the hospital, I would call it the dead ucla hospital or killer ucla hospital instead of urbor UCLA,l believe all the staff in there is doneat there heart, they're working with out heart, knowledge, respect, they are a lier, I have to sit on the dry chairs for 19 and half hours, I don't speak English and Spanish, my daughter asked them to go with me,one of heartless nurse said oh no family we have translater, sftaf 9 hours waiting for call satdown in different chairs for another 5 hours, aftet total of 14 hours my daughter came inside ,but nothing was happened, no body said nothing for all that hours after the nurse said they have translator and prevent my daughter to come with me, finally while I have abdominal pain and head ache with swelling on right side of Head, they did chest x-ray and EKG, they said I am ok, of course I don't have chest pain or SOB, I am ok with that the problem is in my abdomen and concerned me my head is swelling on one side and psin include my eyes and forhead, the doctor keep telling me"I am not sure" ok if she is not sure, how come I didn't have test for my abdomen and my head, I would rather to die instead of going to that hospital , I keep beg to my daughter to go home, but they said I will have problem later to see a doctor if l live with out proper discharge, what is the difference? I am 66 years old woman had different situation in life, I never cried, but that day I cried, I raised my children, and two of them working as a burse, I told them that I am ashamed on them if they are working as urbor UCLA nurses, I raised them and sending them to nursing school without nothing, I beg then and ask them the name if God to leave the Job and look for another one, I don't know what to say, about the hospital and nurse and doctor who works there, are they grauatde? How? That means I can graduate and be a nurse or doctor hmmm.

I ve stayed in Harbor UCLA for about four times and the whole time, with the exception of the long wait in the lobby, I was treated with the utmost respect humanly possible.Which is understandable with a full lobby, of course you will wait a long time. All the times that I was admitted my Doctors and nurses were very caring and understanding to my needs. For that, I am eternally greatfull!!!!! Thank you for being there for me. God Bless.

My son was transferred from Millers in Long Beach and they took excellent care of my son while he was inpatient. The team of doctors would come every morning and i couldn't of been more happier with the service and care while he was in the hospital. Thank you!

One crucial good thing you need to know about this...

One crucial good thing you need to know about this Hospital is that if there are complications during labor they are the absolute experts. But after I gave birth I wasn't being cared for and the hospital took over the role of mother and made all decisions for me for my baby.
When I had to stay over the amount of days I was allowed to stay there, I was given a chair in the nursery to stay overnight with my son who had bilirubin and needed to stay longer than me. I was not allowed to eat anywhere but in the waiting room that had a big sign saying "do not eat in the waiting room!"
Then after my son was born I came into the hospital at least once every one to three months for one and a half years to make sure all of his shots were up-to-date. Now that he's 2 years old I'm finding out that he didn't get a bunch of shots when he was 1 year old. How can this happen? I don't understand the incompetence. When I go to a hospital I expect to be taken care of. I'm scared of this Hospital although they have experts in their back pocket.

The paramedics took my grandson to Harbor UCLA emergency Pediatric, they to working on him right away. A bad Asthma attack. They watched him a few hours then admitted him to Peds ICU where he is being monitored right now. Drs. are kind and compassionate, nurses are very attentive. My grandson is slowly but surely recovering. I took him to children's hospital earlier that morning they took him in right away. Gave him treatments, gave me a prescription and sent us home! After about 2 hrs he got worse then when I took him to childrens. Now that he is in HARBOR UCLA Peds. ICU I am very very happy and I too feel happy that Jehovah and his holy spirited has blessed us to be at this facility, these drs. and nurses are GREAT. All praises be to Jehovah. I highly recommend this hospital for your child or grandchild. Kudos to HARBOR UCLA PEDIATRIC ICU.

I hate the psych part of this hospital! The people who work here always make crews wait for no reason. They always take lunch when the ambulance wants to drop off patients, the psych staff are rude and make the people feel uncomfortable for doing a job, they are rude to the patients.

Don't come here for emergencies. The staff is very lazy and don't really care at all. They also lack the ability to communicate efficiently with patients. They spend more time talking to each other rather than making sure everybody is doing okay. It really sucks to see all these people working here and be so incompetent. During my visit I saw many employees with bad attitude. I really would like someone to supervise these people to make sure they are doing their jobs. It is our money that is being used here and we deserve a decent treatment.

I came in at 6pm, found out i was pregnant. Was bs'ed about getting a room. They wouldn't let my husband in with me, and had me sitting in the hallway for 12 hours just to say they dont really know why i am having stach problems. Doctor was rushing my service and i was forgotten about. My nurse said no doctors assigned themselves to me which is part of the reason i had to wait long in the first place. Ridiculous. Hated my experience, never comimg back, never reccomending.

This is my worst experience ever. I went in becaus...

This is my worst experience ever. I went in because I have been feeling really dizzy in the last couple of months. I just fount out I have a cyst in my brain. Idk if the dizziness is caused by the cyst but when I actually was seen after an 11 hr wait in the waiting room, I was seen by student residents who looked and acted like they just graduated middle school. I was never seen by an actual dr and was never even acknowledged that I had a cyst. I was not further evaluated for this cyst issue and was actually told there was nothing wrong with me other than that I had some stupid vertigo. I don't believe this is the case and I am truly disgusted at their decisions. The residents didn't even know what was wrong with me so they decided they were going to Google it and give me some dumb stupid response. In the end I was told to look up some kind of excersise on You tube to help cope with my symptoms. This is by far the worst experience ever and I recommend people go elsewhere for urgent medical care. Even tho I had a severe headache and a bp of 204/102 I was treated like if I were nothing. I'm so disappointed in the place where I thought I was gonna get treated with respect and some kind of professionalism. I'm so disgusted and will for sure never come to this place again!!!

My friend has sickle cell

My friend has sickle cell
He came in with pain and a headache.
His pain and headaches are way worse then normal people. Know what they did? Put him in a room with 3 loud patients.
When my friend asks for medicine, not only does he have to repeat himself multiple times and wait for while but also lay there in his pain listening to the other patients machines go off and be ignored. All they say is "OK, I'll look into it" and then walk away and do the opposite.
Do not come here.

Second bad experience. I was the ER from 9pm-2:30am still no X-rays. They had me and others patients sitting up in chairs in a lobby. I was involved in a terrible accident. I went to the front desk inquiring about my wait time. The second time the lady told me that X-ray will be awhile. I was miserable just sitting up fighting my sleep in chair. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HOW THEY TREAT PEOPLE!!

How is this place still in operation? This is a medical facility there are rules and regulations for patient care! Waited for 5hrs only to keep being handed ibuprofin, never saw a doctor once, people are sitting and standing everywhere while staff are on Instagram behind computers! Homeless and drug addicts hang out in the lobby for HOURS harassing patients. This place needs to be investigated and shut down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the worst hospitals to go to I spent 12 hours here waiting to see a Dr. And of course when I finally did get to see one the only thing he could tell me was to follow up with my primary Dr and sent me on my way stay away from this place Idk how they stay open. They should really conduct some sort of inspection or something to better treat the patients.

I had a beautiful experience the staff was so kind so patient evenAs I approach the building The feeling of grace and peace spill from the location I feel comfortable but still nervous due to what I was there for and inside Of the building the security guard and other staff we re very considerate and treated you like a human being the service was fast professional and comforting .and the reason why I was there well
I just want to say that recently I had a One of the most horrible things that s known to happen But also rare I woke up in the wee hours of the morning to discover that I had an insect in my ear It took two days to get out After Centinella took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions Tara and Plane discuss then
They informed me that I should go there after terrifying painful attempts to get the insect out. they were unsuccessful mean while for hours straight I can really hear and feel something running around in my left ear not to mention the unprofessionalism of some of the staff so basically by the time I got too Harbor medical they were like my angels excellent customer service and doctors and nurses that are knowledgeable on what to do even in some rare cases go there

I just want to say that first overall I have received very good care here for my injuries. The staff here been excellent and very attentive and I feel that I am safe here . I am in a difficult transitional period in my life facing homelessness and they are doing everything they can to help me stay off the street, in addition to treating my physical injuries and mental problems. I have never been in a situation like this, never been stuck in the hospital long term, and one could definitely do worse than Harbor UCLA! I am very grateful that I have Medi-Cal to pay for this house I would not otherwise be able to have this care. Thank you God and thank you to everyone at Harbor for making my stay as good as possible

My 85 year old dad was treated here this week. The week prior, he was at the highly rated Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance for 7 days. They sent him home and he had to be rushed to Harbor 2 days later, in more critical condition. The difference in care was immeasurable. At Harbor, he was constantly attended to. There wasn't an hour that went by that he was not checked and assessed. At Llttle Co Of Mary, HOURS would go by without a nurse checking on him. The examination at Harbor was thorough, and they immediately discovered a problem that he had throughout the illness that LCOM did not. Once they treated it, he started improving. My dad has dementia, and we let both hospitals know that he would not respond to commands or understand not to pull on IV"s or masks. Harbor GOT IT, and they had a sitter who stayed with him to make sure he was okay. At LCOM, he pulled his IV 5 times that we know of, and they were unaware of it, even when changing IV lines. They'd just change the meds and not check to see IV was still secure. (We found the pulled lines ourselves and had to call in the nurses.) . At Harbor, when I called to get an update, it was really easy to reach the nurse and she gave me a very thorough update, and did not try to rush me off the phone. At LCOM, if you could even reach a nurse it was a miracle. At Harbor, we saw the doctor every day, 2-3 times. At LCOM, we saw him twice in 5 days. When it was time to release dad, Harbor called us, gave us all the details. At LCOM, they didn't even know where to send him, even through we gave them the information several times. Based on the reviews for Harbor, I was concerned about him going here, but the excellent treatment he received belies the rating. Consistent, thorough, compassionate. This hospital was excellent.

I went to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center at 5 am in the morning because I wasn't feeling well. I didn't want to wait a week to see my primary so I went to the emergency. They ran all the tests I needed pretty quick and I was told to go back to the waiting room and expect to see a doctor after 20-30 minutes. I was in the waiting room from about 5:30 am until 2 pm when I left without being seen. Yes I was waiting for 7 hours. I asked the front desk clerk twice to check my status in line. The first time she said I was second at the 6th hours of waiting and then she said I was 3rd at the seventh hour of waiting so I left. I didn't want to be there another 3 hours with 10 people ahead of me....you get what I'm saying. When you ask them for updates they are instructed to tell you as basic information or no information at all which makes it very frustrating because you are waiting blindly. When I left I felt sorry for all those people who had come in after me because I know they would be there 12 or more hours to see a doctor if ever seeing one at all. I think the whole process is a mess. By the way they had mosquitoes flying around the hospital and I was bitten twice on the back of my arm. We all know that mosquitoes transfer viruses and to have them flying around biting people who may have something viral is super scary. I think I am going to change my health care provider asap.

Earlier this month I and an unrelated person where waiting in line in a hallway on the first floor at the Harbor UCLA Medical Records office for the purpose of retrieving our individual or another person's medical records.
The line was long and there were no seats and I thought that I was going to faint from heat exhaustion.I knocked on the door of the Medical Records Office excused myself and asked If I could fill out the Authorization Form to facilitate the wait time along with another individual who was as a Caretaker attempting to pull the Medical Records for her patient to facilittae treatment and care.

We were both flatly denied and asked to leave the office while there were 3 employees behind the glass and only one person being served. We both left immediately extremely frusrtated. I decided to leave the area and asked one of the Security Guards on duty if they knew who was in charge because I felt that we both were being treated unreasonably. The Security Guard informed us that there was an office for complaints and he showed us both how to reach the office.

We individually spoke with a "Patients Rights" advisor and filed our claims accordingly. The wheels of motion started spinning as Iexplained that I previously tried to retrieve my mamagram results unsuccessfully by calling Harbor UCLA Nedical Center several times leaving a message and waiting for 48 hours, for a response as indicated by the telephone message. I also asked the original Immaging Center on the premises for assistance with this matter who pointed me in the direction of the "Medical Records Bldg" which was locked down like a "Maximum Security facility in a prision. I then went on line to Harbor UCLA Medical Center website and made a request and received a call the next morniing from a hospital affiliate who sent me to the "Authorization Department" where I encountered the above incident..

I am happy to report that this story has a happy ending. I got my medical records and I can now schedule my mamagram appointment and hope for the best thanks to: " Patients Rights" advocates abd their immediate involvement.

My father had a stroke that almost lost his life, I had taken him before to St. Francis Hospital which I must say worse service ever. My father was brought here, immediately they attended him. He was admitted to the hospital for about 3 weeks and he said to me they actually took care of him better than any other hospital it was just embarrassing to him when they bathed him but other that his experience was great and actually came out better than how he would come out the St. Francis hospital. Compare to other hospital they don't charge for parking, just make sure your not parking where your not suppose to because police officers do patrol the area and give out tickets.

I am a diabetic and I went there know I have an eye infection, not only did I have to WAIT 10-12 hours to be seen by a doctor, I also got pumped with two bags of fluid because my gluteus lever were high but the fluid did nothing. I had to give myself my insulin to bring my gluteus down and wait in a test room for two hours. I can hear an very inappropriate conversation that a nurse was having about her sex life and the emergency room nurses were very rude to the patient who just wanted to know simple information. If I could give negative stars I swear I would give them -100 starts.
