As a Maine based wedding planner my clients and I have partnered with Gus and Ruby many times over the last several years to imagine, create, and produce beautiful save the dates, invitation suites and wedding day paper goods. They are thoughtful, attentive to every detail, creative and most importantly client-focused. They also know there way around every possible etiquette question including clients who wanted to change their last name entirely to something new--leave it to Gus and Ruby to have all the answers of how to seamlessly introduce and display that throughout the invite process in the most timeless and classy way. Of course the brick and mortar shop is a true indulgence to step into and whether it be a a work at home office pick me up, client gift or card they have the most beautifully selected of curated gifts.

The greeting cards here are always unique, fun, and express sentiments you cannot find elsewhere. The Portsmouth location is doing a good job taking the proper precautions to keep customers and staff safe.

Love this store so much! They carry the greatest products and the best brands. If you're looking for a card and a unique gift, this is your one-stop-shop. I seriously can't recommend highly enough!

Beautiful Store & Outstanding Customer Service! Short on time and from out of the area, I was looking for a couple of gift bags for client gifts. Came across Gus & Ruby and wished I could have spent much longer in this welcoming and cheerful store. The store clerk/owner(?) was incredibly helpful and set me up to make a quick purchase with all that I needed to wrap my gifts on the fly. This independent store epitomizes the joys and benefits of shopping local!

Gus & Ruby has the most unique selection of letterpress cards I've ever seen--I don't buy cards anywhere else anymore! They also have some really unique gift items which made my Christmas shopping a lot easier last year. The staff is really great too!

Gus & Ruby is one of my favorite stores in Portsmouth. I always try to visit when I m in town. They have a great selection of cards, prints, and gifts, a lot of which is made locally. They do a wonderful job with their gorgeous wedding invites as well (did my sister s years ago). Highly recommend!
