Harmony Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center Review

I am not happy about the workers in this place and the residents can tell you the same thing .I come a few times a month and every time there's someone I end up helping because no one bothers to come around and check on them. For example, the bathroom door was in the way of a poor lady's wheelchair and it seemed like she was stuck there for a long time trying to set herself free. When she saw me she begged me to help her and to wheel her to her bed. She started getting on the bed by herself and I told her no you have to wait for your nurse!!! She said they won't come and sure enough I asked for help and a nurse said she will inform her CNA but no one came the whole time we were there. So I had no choice but to help her. That's wrong! Very wrong. She expressed wanting to die and not wanting to be there because of how staff are. Another resident complains of the bad attitudes and of certain staff stealing his belongings. No one feels safe. There needs to be change! There needs to be compassion amongst ALL staff.

I ended up here after a terrible accident in which I was hit by a car. They did everything they could to degrade, humiliate me and make me a lifelong resident, though ultimately I wasn't permanently disabled. I saw so many people die from easily preventable causes, considering this is a medical facility that is extremely messed up.
An activities person, "Natalie" constantly harassed me, demanding I provide snacks and refreshments for the bingo games if I brought in a soda, harassed me to takeover some guys job of passing out lunch menus at 3am and after saying "no" several times excluded me from outings and tried to make the floor's clique of bully elderly women bullying completely my fault though it was happening from minute one of my stay there. I was singled out and even staying away just made her barge into my room and demand I show up for more arguments. Completely unprofessional abuse.

Do whatever you can to have your loved ones stay home and be as self sufficient as possible, because coming somewhere like this place is a fast trip to the graveyard. Far too many cna's got into the profession just to rob the elderly blind, this joke of a nursing home is full of such criminals.

Assistance takes a long time to get help. Call light is ignored until you speak up for the patient. State report submitted.

My great aunt had knee surgery, this facility was great, the rehab personnel and nurses were very supportive. I highly recommend this facility.

The staff has always been great! Very professional. They keep the place clean. I would recommend it over all a 10. They treat everyone with great respect.

My mother was a rehab patient. While in the care of this facility she was robbed twice by employee staff. First time it was the cash in her purse- $300 and the second time it was of her checkbook , entire wallet and Identity . To date Several thousands of dollars have been taken from her accounts. Every form of ID we are now working to get replaced. The Social Worker called me and informed me of my mothers release date and that my mother was charged a lot of money for a wheelchair that she was to take when she left but upon discharge they wouldn t allow her to leave with the needed wheelchair. Discharge paperwork had errors and stated my mother had Epilepsy which she doesn t have and makes me wonder if they have been treating her for this? Incompetent, dishonest and criminal are how I would describe the staff at this facility. I am glad the police are involved and will be notifying the Insurance company of the fraudulent charge for the wheelchair. This facility in no way should be caring for elderly and disadvantaged individuals- regardless of what their telephone hold message says.

A great place to work because its clean and staff are hardworking and dedicated. I've been working here for more than 20 years and for me this is my second home. I love my job, the resident that I am helping leave a part in my heart. I consider them as part of my family. Listening to them of how grateful they are of my help and seeing them get well is very rewarding. I am proud to be a part of an accommodating and comforting team.

This place was very awful, my mom was there for almost a month. Although there are a few people that were so kind and the physical therapy team were amazing. I had several complaints about the CNA, they were very rough and rude. I have complained to the head nurses and also the mangers about rude attitudes and very harsh care with my mother. One instance consisted of them pushing her forward while she was sitting up in her bed, causing her to feel like she was suffocating. Another instance was when i was questioning one of the nurses on how they keep track of medications and how they make sure they dont give the same medication twice, she began to become noticably fussy and claim she never makes mistakes, yet when my mother was being discharged they brought in the wrong medication and if i had not noticed she wouldve been left withoit her medicine for the night, which wouldve been a major health issue concerning life and death. Nothing was done about thsee few instances or any others I reported. I was even asked to move my mother if I wasn't happy with the care. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

The staff at harmony is great everyone goes above and beyond to help the patients. It is a very well kept, clean and bright nursing center. They care about patient care and will do whatever it takes to meet the patients needs.

I am very happy with the quality of care received. The staff is extremely professional and caring. I would definitely recommend for therapy.

This place is horrible and irresponsible to individuals and families. I am so thankful we got my mom out of there in time, as I firmly believe she was negleted in personal care and assessment of needs. She almost died. Everyone will have their own experiences with nursing homes, I encourage you to ride the staff hard to make sure your questions are answered and that the full needed care for your loved one is addressed if you take the chance or risk at this facility . It doesn't even deserve a star .

The employees are very professional, hardworking and well dedicated to their jobs. It is so overwhelming to see residents who get better after their therapy and from the care given by the nursing team and other departments. Aside from that it is good to work and be a resident in Harmony because this facility is very clean, with wide surrounding with wide parking and accessible to transportation.

My great aunt had knee replacement surgery and stayed at Harmony for 2 weeks and we were very happy with her care. Nursing staff is very caring and management is approachable and responsive. The building is very clean and welcoming of family visitors.

Poor communication amongst some of the staff. I saw and experienced a great deal of disrespect toward African American staff including name calling, derogatory statements and bullying. I decided to quit and as a result they refused to pay me for hours worked. They only paid me for one day and keep telling me they will call me back when I dispute the missing hours and never call back. It will be a month in a few days and I still haven't been paid. I'll be calling legal aid and the dept of labor. Be careful dealing with these people.

I ve been working at harmony for over 10 years now. I am so proud of this place because of its cleanliness and it is a great place to work at. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. Lastly, I love my job because it teaches me that the people you help is what counts.

I consider harmony as my second home because I have been working here for over 20 years. The place is very clean and we have such dedicated and hardworking staff. I love my job because it is often greatly appreciated by the residents and their families.

I worked here through Agency and they are always short staffed. They do not have good communication skills at all. I worked overnight once & I asked the nurses to give me a walk through of my set and they looked at me like I was crazy. They make sure the 3flr has enough CNA, the 2nd & the 4th flr are always short staff of CNA s. The only issue is short of CNA s & the communication skills some nurses have. This is a nice facility and they treat there patients good and with respect. No foul smelling odor in the hallways like some of the other facilities I ve worked at.

They are always short staff, rarely bathe the patients, patient lie in their waste for a long time before they are changed. They handle patients roughly. The staff steal patients wallets and belongings. Many staff personnel are not paid much and they have a lot of work to do. They have a high turn over rate with staff. Most of the staff don t care about the patients. Many staff personnel talk unprofessionally to patients. The staff does not introduce themselves to patients before providing service. They don t sufficiently provide rehabilitation. The staff is not honest! Very poorly ran facility!

A family friend of mine was recently admitted to Harmony Healthcare & Rehabilitation for a hip fracture. She was unable to move when she arrived and we are so impressed with how far she has come since she was admitted. The administrative team is great and extremely accommodating. They made sure my family friend was comfortable at all times. The therapy team is excellent!!! We are so pleased with the results and would recommend coming here for physical therapy. Thanks so much to those who helped!!

Call light is rarely answered in a timely manner. The food is usually cold and not tasty in no stretch of the imagination. Yet it's very, very clean.
