I thought that I couldn't better better Crown Plaza, but yes, Gulf Hotel has surpassed my expectation. They staff was very attentive and the variety of food was wide. I would definitely go again. It cost 28bd including alcohol.
The serving areas were Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, carvery, Mexican plus desserts.
What a Great place with a Great Staff. Lot's of great food to choose from. Rooms are large and roomy with outstanding views. I strongly believe it is the people that work here that make the difference. Always friendly, always remembers you and speaks your name in greetings. Very Clean and safe place. I recommend any one coming to Bahrain to visit the Gulf Hotel for a experience you will remember for a long time.

My overall stay was very nice. The room (2 bedroom apartment) and service were top notch. I had some extra charges initially for breakfast's that were not purchased and they cleared those up immediately when checking out. The apartment was spacious with great views of the Grand Mosque, and the pool, workout facilities, and restaurants were all top notch. The only complaint was the internet. The speed was less than desired. This was not localized to me or my room, as many people I talked to had the same experience. Travelers staying at establishments such as the Gulf expect a level of internet speed that does not remind those that are old enough of dial up speed. Things like facetime and skype did not work or were extremely choppy. My overall grade would have been a 5 if not for that.
Not enough parking availability, specifically on going big summits such as AMAZON

Luxury hotel with lots of restaurants in the hotel and its surroundings. You can see that this hotel has a past, some things needs maintenance. Shower not working completely. Also difficult to get a pleasant temperature in the shower. It is or burning hot or cold. Recommend to bring along plastic cups as you never know where the glass and porcelain cups have been. Service is OK, you can experience who is new to the job. Breakfast OK, expected bigger choice of food available but most demanded are there, like egg station, juices and some fruits.

Visited this hotel while on the way to Etihad airways.Poor signages to find your business office despite a big sign board on the top of the building as "Etihad Executive Offices".One can't even find the entrance to this business tower.

I had not enough cash and I wanted to pay by credit card. Your pos machine does not show the amount charged. When I returned back home, I noticed that the hotel charged me the amount in Turkish Liras, which is not desired by me because the currency exchange rate is way too different.
Now I am charging my expenses to my company but I have to charge them in USD and I have a loss.
You should ask your client whether or not to charge in Turkish Liras because I don't have to accept your (or Bahraini Banks') exchange rate.
