Re opening day was amazing. Place was kept really clean tons of have sanitizer everywhere felt very comfortable with my family cant wait to go back
Great way to walk around and spend a day. Can visit almost all exhibits in a day.
Animals were handsome. Weekdays are great since it's not as crowded as the weekend
Clean, well kept. My granddaughter Loves going to the zoo.
Large very nice elephants are not in good exhibit no African elephant
beautiful zoo. nice exercise. nice kids play area
Three stars only because covid has a lot of the pavilion exhibits closed
If you want to walk and enjoy the weather and variety you have to visit the LA Zoo
I was a little disappointed about how many animals weren't in their exhibit, but overall our family loved it and we had a lot of fun!
The lights at the Zoo were off the hook. Recommend for anyone who loves Christmas lights and holiday spirit.
My husband took the kids there while i was at usc having surgery! He said if you have 2 little kids then you need 2 adults! He said it was very hard just going by himself because our daughter was 5&1/2 and my son was 1&1/2 they both wanted to look at different stuff! We are from nv so we don t have stuff life this here lol. I m going back for my 12th ear surgery March 12th so we re gonna come in on Saturday and take them back so we can all enjoy it as a family! He said prices were fine! He didn t eat because he had to come get me so this time i will be saving just for the zoo so they don t miss out on anything! Ohhh and definitely BRING A STROLLER both of our kids can walk but this year I m getting a double stroller it s very long and lots of stuff! So be prepared he only took a single stroller and said it wasn t a good idea!
We went there for lights show not so much for the zoo. The lights show was ok. I was expecting more, so I wasn't really impressed.
Nice zoo, they take good care of their animals, good family fun and learning expericane for the wee ones.
It's all about knowing how to get to the overflow parking, when its a busy day
Yes this is amazing zoo - lots of well taken care of animals - based in Griffith Park which is another place you must see if you are in LA
Great Zoo. Lots of walking but worth the day spent with family.
A lot of the animals were sleeping so you didn't really get to see him the Bears were nowhere to be found the lions were asleep the Tigers were hiding underneath the log asleep. Just the price you pay isn't really worth when all you see.
Fun place to visit with family, many animals to see lots of fun. Chimpanzees are hilarious, while the Low land Silver Back Gorillas are amazing you watch. Reptiles too many to mention but are amazing.
The zoo was great. My daughter had a blast and we all loved there is a park there as well. My daughter can't wait to go back. It's clean. The people are very friendly.
Awsome place togo with the family for a great adventure
Great zoo! My only question is why so many of their monkeys have diabetes!
Must say I felt empathy for the animals in that upon entry to the zoo there was a lone seal obviously in distress, lonely or such. He is blind and it's doubtful that his life is very good.
I was excited to bring my son to the zoo but it just didnt meet my expectations. The zoo is nice and huge but hardly any animals. I feel like I over paid and wont be coming back.
Not too big but still entertaining. LA nights at the zoo isnt all that great.
Had a great night lights with my family and enjoyed watching my kids so happy.
The LA Zoo is always nice, but was saddened by how small the Lion enclosure is comparatively to many other animals. The Lion should be treated with the respect of a larger and encompassing enclosure that the King of the jungle deserves.
There is a good selection of animals as well as snack options. Good visiting place for kids.
When you ignore the fact that zoo is kind of jail for animals. It is a very cool place, and to see young kids exited to see huge animals for the first time is not something that you can miss.
I really feel bad for the animals, they have done nothing to be in jail, except for being beautiful and amazing, and for human to entertain. The place is clean and organized, and I felt that the people here really try to do a lot for the animals here.
So much fun. Electric wheelchair options are great.
Nothing crazy spectacular but we had a good time. Some of the enclosures looked really small, which was sad.
It was New Year illumination. We didn't see animals. Crowded too much.
It may be the cause of the epidemic, and I can only watch it for about two hours (letting in at 2:30 and asking to come out before 5:30. But the actual viewing is up to two hours.). Many animals only saw a little figure, many animals did not see it at all. There are only a few good-looking animals. I took the three-year-old child who had been holding back for a long time to see, and he was probably satisfied. But from an adult s perspective, this zoo is not good.
I love the zoo, but this overall could have been a much better experience. The food made both my mother and boyfriend sick. While there is a tram to ride to the higher parts of the park, (you have to pay for it-not really a problem) but after purchasing 3 tickets for it, the tram arrived shortly after saying it could be up to an hour or more wait before it would be able to drive us. It was very inconvenient and I hope the city makes a genuine effort to make the zoo a better experience for everyone.
I go there for one thing and one thing only.and that is to see the two hippos.
Great for children. Animals are very active. Clean and super family friendly.
Its was a nice experience and the most important thing is that we enjoy been together and had fun it may need more attractions so customers can have different experiences.
Absolutely love this Zoo. The staff there are wonderful!
Nice but many hills, so if it's hot very few animals and you'll be exhausted yourself
The zoo light in Xmas are spectacular. During the day I love the train ride
The zoo is consistently a great place to visit! The grounds are well kept and the animals are in good condition amd seem very happy. The events are always fun and educational for kids and adults. This is an awesome zoo!
Great place for the family weekend! A lot of animals !
Not impresses it was so hot the animals were hiding summer field trip.
I love the LA zoo! Best kettle corn for a great price!!!!!
I loved seeing come to the zoo with my children, it was nice to see how my children had fun, here I recommend them to come and have fun watching the zoo animals.
Roaring nights is a great way to see the animals without huge crowds. I do feel like the music is too loud for them. It's probably not a good idea to have drunk people bothering the animals. It could use more staff to prevent this. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
Lived here for 17 1/2 years and never been to the zoo. A friend from Australia is in town and decides they want to go. Had a blast. Was very serene and relaxing on a Thursday afternoon as we arrived just as school kids were getting back on their busses to leave. Great variety of animals to learn about. Hand feeding the giraffes was AMAZING! Well worth the $5. Only suggestion would be more signage. It was a little confusing directionally even with the map sometimes and some sides of the animal enclosures didn't have signage, so we weren't sure what we were seeing exactly. Other than that it was a great time and would totally go again.
Took my daughter and some of her class mates on a field trip. Gorilla got mad and pound the glass window. Totally awesome
Lots of fun, great exhibits, and very clean and well kept. I will be going back allot since I have a year membership. I only gave four stars because all the vendors closed before the park so we didn't get to try the churro sundae on our way out. That's the only thing I was bummed about.
Great place to explore and very easy to get around in.
Great zoo. Many different routes. Tons of shade and lots of places to sit and relax
I have never thought that you can enjoy drinking beer in such a beautiful environment with fantastic lightning and music.
Large space with several species, but lacking shade! The restaurant is reasonable!
I've lived in LA for nearly 15 years and have only recently been to the zoo. It's so much fun and a great place to bring young kids. The food isn't anything to get excited about, so I'd recommend bringing your own snacks. But the animal exhibits are awesome, especially the elephants, there are multiple locations throughout the park to get an awesome view of them.
I'd recommend getting to the zoo as early as possible before it gets too crowded and hot, a lot of the animals like tigers and lions go into the shade and hide when it starts to get hot. But early in the morning, you'll get a great view of them.
This place is amazing !!! Great place to spend the day with family . My kids loved seeing all the animals and birds. The feeding sessions for various animals was very interesting. Great food and restrooms were well maintained. We loved it !!!
Free parking and friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices
Took my 2 grandsons. They really enjoy seeing all the different animals and the carousal ride.
Never go during the weekend it's a mad house. Bring your own food if you want to save money and wear comfortable clothing your going to do a lot of walking.
