Surprised that the zoo was much larger than anticipated! A good few hours of exploring and an easy to navigate layout.

Was a little unfortunate to see that some exhibits looked awfully lonely and not very well taken care of but many animals seemed active despite the heat.

Surprisingly no parking issues at noon on a weekend and tickets were reasonably priced.

Been here numerous times and my little one loves it. They have a good amount of animals and the volunteers know a lot of information.
You pay extra to feed the giraffes (cash only) and go on the carousel me.
Parking is free.
Food isn't insanely priced, but what you expect.
I've never seen the elephants with as many times as we've gone. But the other animals are usually out.
It's great to go when they first open, not too many people and a lot of the animals are active.

We went there today at 3:50pm and they told us they were putting away animals and closing gifT shops. We had traveled from the High Desert, through the rain... with a 2 and 3 year old.
TOTALLY NOT ACCEPTABLE

What the covid 19 pandemic. It was very lonely and not everything was open. We didn't get to see all the animal cuz it was closed. At the end of the day the only thing that matter. My girls enjoyed being there.

I love the zoo! It was semi crowded though and a lot of the animals were not out to see but I got to see a lot of my favorites. It appears like the are pretty well kept. I was hoping to see the otters but I got there a little too late. Save it for next time I guess.

Nice place for families to visit Christmas lights but understand you will not be seeing any animals at night since those sections are blocked off since most animals need the night to be dark and quiet.

Lots of animals locked up in cages. Probably won't be long till the people who screwed up Sea World catch on to these places. I'd go while you still have a chance. You can spend the better part of a day here. It's pretty nice.

The zoo is nice, if you are LA resident and planning to come here more than 2 times a year then it's worth taking the annual membership. Before you come check the events they are organizing each day from there website and be aware that they start taking out animals at 4 and they close at 5 p.m.
It took me around 1.5 -2 hours to quickly tour the whole zoo and watch most of the animals.

Enjoyed our full day exploring the wonders of the LA Zoo. Such a variety of animals to see. I can't help but feel a bit bad though that the animals seem to not have a whole bunch of room. Decently clean park for fun of all ages, although we didn't want to eat anything in the park because the food service booths just didn't look sanitary although I'm sure they are.

My children have so much fun at the zoo. We usually attend boo at the zoo (Halloween), Easter or Christmas. The season pass is a good deal for the family. You can take food in or purchase it there. It's only open until 5 so you don't have to worry about losing a whole day. It's a fun way to get the whole family walking while having fun.

I love the LA Zoo!! It s the perfect safari adventure getaway to go to with family and friends any day of the week. Spend your day here watching exquisite animals and reptiles all around the zoo. This place is pretty big so you ll get a lot of walking visiting the animals. Each day they have events going on for animal feeding and other cool stuff that s worth checking out. I d recommend packing a lunch to bring here and lots of water just in case you get hungry. Bring your favorite person here and have so much fun checking out the monkeys!

It is a wonderful zoo.

It is a wonderful zoo.
Especially I think that it is the best place if you bring children who like animals like elementary school students like you. Because it is a public facility, we do not conduct business like a zoo in San Diego.
Entrance fee is also reasonable, personally like this zoo.
You can watch the animals slowly and walk. I think that the atmosphere of walking in the woods and looking at animals by area theme is similar to Fukuoka City Zoo, Hirakawa Animals Park and Asahiyama Zoo. But the scale is different. We recommend taking a long time in half a day and going slowly. Tickets can be purchased online in advance.
(It will be a bit cheaper with a coupon)
Going at 10 o'clock, parking lot is also available and recommended.
Parking lot is free.

The largest zoo I have ever seen. Kept very well and with protection and respect for animals. To visit very calmly. You can do it on foot or take the panoramic view with the train. For the little ones there are also shows and activities. Many of the guides are volunteers. Entry is good value. It is worth spending a day, if a 5-minute memo there is the Observatory not to be missed.

Haven't been there in years and I loved the way they upgraded a little. Although some of the animals did not look like they were in their natural habitat but I hope they can fix that one day. but I still give it five stars only because my daughter loved the zoo and the giraffes.

First time I've been to a zoo so I can't compare this experience to another. It seemed cool. Most of the animals seemed happy. Sadly the lion recently died, or at least that's what I was told by a worker.

Became a member last month. To by tickets for events such as zoo lights etc you have email them to get a promo code. (There is no members button or a way to put in your membership #) Ive sent them three requests up to now to get the code. Still no reply. The event will be over by time they reply. Such a horrendous system with no customer service.

About Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association

The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) is a non-profit organization that supports the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. The association was founded in 1963 with the aim of providing financial support to the zoo, promoting conservation efforts, and educating visitors about wildlife and their habitats.

The Los Angeles Zoo is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Southern California. It houses over 1,400 animals from around the world, including rare and endangered species such as gorillas, tigers, elephants, and koalas. The zoo also features a botanical garden with over 800 plant species.

In response to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the Los Angeles Zoo has modified its experience to ensure visitor safety while still providing an enjoyable experience for all. Advance timed-entry reservations are now required for all visitors to limit capacity and maintain social distancing guidelines.

GLAZA plays a vital role in supporting these efforts by funding various programs at the zoo. One such program is animal conservation research which aims to protect endangered species through scientific research and breeding programs. GLAZA also funds educational programs that teach visitors about wildlife conservation efforts around the world.

In addition to supporting animal welfare initiatives at the zoo, GLAZA offers various membership options that provide exclusive benefits such as free admission year-round, discounts on food and merchandise purchases at the zoo gift shop or online store.

By becoming a member of GLAZA you can help support their mission of promoting wildlife conservation while enjoying exclusive access to events like behind-the-scenes tours or special exhibits throughout your membership year.

Overall if you're looking for an exciting day out with family or friends then look no further than visiting Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association! With its wide range of animals from around world along with beautiful botanical gardens it's sure not disappoint anyone who loves nature!
