This zoo is pretty good overall. They had a little Oktoberfest area today, which was a nice surprise. They have a good variety of animals and habitats. If you go on one of the few sunny days, the animals should be out. My only complaints are the bathrooms need better upkeep and too many exhibits closed at the same time.

Saturday visit was packed. Like most zoos, you should expect not all animals to be awake an active just for you. The knock comes with the parking situation, the general unkempt state of the zoo, and the sad enclosed environment of trying to fit the animals in Los Angeles.

It was a nice walk in a park ..
Saw a bunch of birds a lion, a couple of giraffes a few other small animals. But, where do they put the animals to sleep?? I'm not willing to pay again.

Excellent zoo. Lots of different types of exotic animals. Very wooded. Excellent food services. Be prepared to stay at least four hours. It's a bit difficult to navigate, very confusing layout. But you will enjoy it anyway.

Great place...it's happy and sad only because we enjoy the animals and want the best for them, but know that the best would be in there natural habitat. My kids always hi Ave a good time at the zoo.

Fun for all ages, the la zoo has something for everyone. Lots of animals from lions to tons of snakes in the lair. Food is good and you will do so much walking so make sure you bring your water bottles. They also have a dinosaur section, it will be there till October.

Went to the LA Zoo night lights and have to say it was better then I anticipated. Family and I attended the zoo during the day and bought tickets for the Night Lights. Night Lights is extremely well priced if you already have a zoo membership. Lots of lights to see in a unique way to see them. Very well set up for families or the date night. Lots of food, hot chocolate and alcohol stops along the walk. You get to see some animals and lots of lights. The twinkle tunnel is a must do. When you go be sure to do the early showing, it gives you more time to see the lights. My only negative is it is very crowded so do not plan on rushing through, plan to take two hours to view everything. Really great opportunity for all ages!

They dont really informed the mask rules once your inside, saw to many people just walking around not caring about other people's health/safety. Alot of animals weren't there or maybe in there cages in the back. My daughter still had a great time, but not like when I was a kid.

Ive been here 3 times in the past year. My problems with this zoo are

1. The exhibits are
2. The habitats are tiny!
3. There are not enough signs posted for directions
4. There is a lot of uphill pushing with a stroller
5. There is no places to breastfeed a baby

We went for the holidays of lights festival at the Zoo. Last year we had a great time even though not all the lights were working and they didn't play any Christmas music. This time was much different all the light displays were upgraded and there was Christmas music playing. It was definitely worth going.

The LA Zoo is home to over 1,000 animals and is easily more than 100 acres big, so there are plenty of animals to see and a lot of walking to do. Some of the animals that call the LA Zoo their home are lions, tigers, elephants, gorillas, koalas, jaguars, chimpanzees, giraffes, Komodo dragons, orangutans, hippopotamus, and an Indian rhinoceros. They recently opened their "Rainforest of the Americas" section and it is a must see! There have been many improvements done to the LA Zoo over the years, which will enhance your experience when seeing these animals. If you enjoy seeing reptiles and amphibians, you will definitely want to stop by and visit "The LAIR" and see all the different types of such animals. In additional to just housing exotic animals, the LA Zoo also has a safari shuttle, carousel, playground, petting zoo, and theaters. Additionally, the LA Zoo hosts many different types of events throughout the year in order to enhance the experience for adults and children. I highly recommend that you check out the LA Zoo!

This is heaven on Earth. I live in the neighborhood and I feel so privileged to have these gardens nearby. It is always a new experience, it never fails to create a sense of awe and contemplation. The subscription is very affordable and the staff is friendly.

Great day with my wife. All of the animals looked healthy. The lions looked a little cramped in their habitat but honestly look very old and just layed about. We cant wait to bring the kids.
And wear your hiking shoes and be ready to walk up hills. It's just parks terrain but is a great work out. They also have a tram that will relocate you around the park.

It was a great experience got to see wild animals with decent price ticket; however, i have to be honest most wild animals there are old aged they have no energy to walk or jump around so kids can really enjoy.

I wonder if the zoo is the same all year round .but I just visited today .arrived at 11 am and left at 4 pm in between those hours I only seen reptiles (that were hiding) ...and about 4 more animals .I understand its summer and the animals seek shade .but I did pay my fair share .besides that the park was so out of shape!!!! Trash everywhere .no staff around when needed.half the animals looked like they carried diseases so sad but true .I'll never return again

There is no one, 3 poor animals in very small spaces. Parrots have parrots as the skinny lion.
The meaning of the visit is very poorly indicate, have the impression of turning in circles. Many spaces under construction. Even if it costs only $ 22, it's better to put in a good burger than in this garden of insects.

Zoo is amazing! Perfect place for the kids as they should be able to understand how beautiful nature is! Here, outside food is allowed so take all food you need. You can buy cute stuffed animals as well for your little one.

I have to say that I was a little skeptical going here for the first time. I have never been to a zoo and I just went to the Los Angeles Zoo for the first time at 40 years old. Not only did the animals put on a show lol they seemed very happy very well taken care of and I went on a weekend I went on a Sunday the tween 11:30 and 1:30. I did not eat because the prices were way too expensive just for a bottle of water or a slice of pizza but seeing all of the cool animals and birds and reptiles was truly incredible and I have to say again the animals seemed very happy I didn't see any dirty animals I didn't see unhappy animals so thank u l a zoo for taking such good care of not only your establishment but the animals and I can't wait to come back again because I didn't get to see everything the first time. I would definitely definitely go here again.

Large zoo with a lot of walking. Better bring comfortable walking shoes for the trek or make sure to take the tram. It will drop you off at several major areas and you can pick it up to go to the next area. An all day adventure, so pack up whatever edibles and sandwiches you ll need. Have fun!!

Los Angeles Zoo aren't the manicured, organized gardens one finds at the Huntington or the Arboretum. Instead, they're meandering, sometimes messy. There's something sweet and low-brow about Los Angeles Zoothat's simple and relaxing. Sometimes you can watch people who've set up easels painting the pops of color amid scrubby indigenous plants, sometimes the featured attraction is watching kids chase butterflies, and sometimes it's a small art exhibit. No matter the activity (or lack of one), Los Angeles Zoo is always a restful, restorative place to spend an afternoon and Angelenos are fortunate to have it in our back yard.

Packed. If you dont want to travel to the San Diego zoo this zoo will do. Tends to get packed as soon as it opens. Bring a hat or an umbrella because you will get tan. Lines are long. Even in the entrance. Stuff here is a bit pricey. Overall it's a decent zoo. I recommend not to venture here on a hot day. Most animals are not active due to heat waves.
