Ok so a zoo is where you see animals that are put there for us to enjoy and interact for our entertainment... look up and how many stars you see? One to many! I had to put one only for the sake of my son and fiance were there at this "park" (cause that's all it is is just a park with no animals...well that was the impression they gave us, but even a park has swings and a slide to make a smile on a face and I cant say this for the L.A. Zoo which should be renamed THE L.A. BOOOOO). So if you want to be disappointed just go but every time you go to a park now after that bring a lighter with about 1 to 2 hundred dollars and burn it while a bologna sandwich is being consumed by your taste bugs....oh and they have a giraffe

All the animals look very sad, in fact it seems that some are sick, some are in very small spaces and the water of all, including the fish tanks, is exaggeratedly dirty, I think they are very neglected, I even managed to see a plastic bottle Lying within the area of the large flamingos, I had the best expectations before entering the zoo but I was really disappointed. I think there should be more vigilance and care of the animals.

i really love the zoo but i have notice over the past years how poorly this zoo has become.. there is just so much waste there. the encounters are soo dirty the glass to see the gorillas are so dirty u cant even see tru them. there is not alot of green. Trees are dying, dead leafs everywhere sometimes bloaking peoples views. and not to meantion bees everywhere. im sad bcuz this is my zoo and i came as a kid and i want my kids to enjoy it. i just dnt see anything cheerful all the colors are fading . they surely need to repaint.

The zoo has changed so much since I had last been there. It's a good change, though. I took my sister here for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. As long as you can get past the expensive food, you'll have a blast!

Came here on a Sunday with the kids and I have to say we had an amazing time. It's a great place to spend a day seeing and learning about the animals. If you want to get a work out and have fun while doing it then the L.A. Zoo is the place to go.

This place is massive! Unfortunately the signage throughout the zoo is vague or absent, and the maps aren't stellar. When a cartographer has issues with your map...

Overall we enjoyed the variety of exhibits and definitely got our steps in.

If you are a member of another zoo, you may be able to get discounted admission.

The zoo is no longer crowded. We got the 3pm entrance which was okay. The only down size is that 4pm is the feeding time for a lot of the main animals like the tigers, giraffes, jaguars... The line is not to long and we only made line for ten minutes. You'll need to buyp your tickets online and no cash is accepted when inside. Over all the zoo is amazing.

Very bad, the animals were sleeping or there wasn't any animals where there was suppose to have animals. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Especially when you pay the amount of money to get in there

A zoo with lots of different species. A must see ! However, some animals are painful to see because all alone in their enclosure, without companion. The animation with the birds is to be seen! The souvenir shops are very nice too. I loved the otters on the water slide.
The zoo also closes early. Large animals return 1 hour before the official closing time so go early.
Wonderful day anyway!

What a great place to spend time with my family! The excitement of seeing these beautiful creatures is a memory I have from my childhood and I know my children will have these type of memories too. The Zoo does a great job of providing an environment that we can learn in and have a great experience. It is accessible for strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs, for most areas. If I recall correctly, the aviary has several steps.

Great local zoo that has all the animals you'd expect from primates to reptiles to elephants to zebras. Giraffes are fun as well. Only thing missing which you'll find at San Diego zoo is penguins.

the zoo is amazing ! loved the food , its very clean as well , my boyfriend and i had a very good time but we didn't hang to see all the animals since it was a very hot day . what i didn't like was the wait for the entrance near the freeway to many people cutting others off . they really need someone out there guiding the entrance for parking .

My kids love animals and because the zoo is fairly large, we rarely see the same thing twice in a row. The la zoo has worked hard over the years with new improvements and you can see the hard work paying off.

The LA Zoo is a great place to visit. There are very helpful workers and volunteers to give you interesting information about the animals and birds. My favorite was seeing the 50 year old orangutan. She is the oldest in North America! There is one other in England. The food at Reggies Bistro is delicious. Angus burgers are huge ..maybe 1/3 pound with crispy fries. The Mahala is also good. You can watch the giraffes while you eat.

We went on Memorial Day so it was crazy busy, but it was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also have lots of animals just waiting to be photographed! Plus they sell beer so basically its my happy place. Definitely recommend to anyone, especially great for families.
