But I haven't been back since I pulled a daring escape from the monkey enclosure.

This is my 1st time here and came for the LA Zoo lights, Christmas lights that they have for the Holidays, I'll be Honest is was ok but could of been way better, I have been to other places that I didn't have to pay it all and had way better lights in this place and also not all the zoo is open so that is a bummer but overall it was okay could have been better, this is more of a couple thing

It's a very small zoo but it has improved over the years. The animals are well taken care of. However, the Lion and Tiger exhibit was mediocre. The elephant exhibit was closed but it only 1 elephant was out out. The apes, gorillas and chimpanzees were amazing. I dont know if they will ever grow because of its location. It would be nice if they could enlarge the zoo and take parts of Griffith Part and make that park of the zoo. Plenty of room to build upon.

Spent the day at the Los Angeles Zoo. Parking and ticketing was a breeze. Employees and volunteers were great, but were difficult to find when in need of help with exact directions to specific enclosures. Some of the restaurants were closed, but the one we found open that we ate at was clean and the food delicious. The gardens are beautiful. It's a great Zoo. Be sure to visit the Orangatans and say hello to Bruno for us!

Went with my family for the first time for the light show at the zoo. We where there at 5pm waiting for tickets we bought the ticket she made a mistake sold us an extra ticket so we had to go back and wait . Then we waited in line finally got there 6:15pm and they told us that we can t go in until 7:30pm because are tickets said 7:30pm. The box office never told us that we got 7:30pm Its very unorganized and the employees are unfriendly. I can t get my money back I have to change them for another day. Don t come it s not worth it go some where else like San Diego zoo

Great place to come and get the kids learning and tired them iut. Get the membership, it's totally worth it. Each time you come back, youlkk learn something new or might have missed by the zoo keepers.
Today, the chimpanzees were literally going ape sh!t. They were fighting who knows what...but it was interesting. At the time we were looking at them, it was almost cloaing time and the chimpanzees were all standing by this cave with the door. The zookeeper told us they were lining up to go to dinner. That's the door to go inside for food. That was funny to see and learn about that.

Great for the whole family. I took my kids there frequently when they were young and now that they are in high school we just went and also had a great day together. It s just the right size-you can see it all in a day. And parking is free!! Even though the parking lot was full the zoo itself never felt crowded. They allow you to bring your own food even big coolers and have a lot of picnic tables at entrance. We bring our own lunch and then always get a treat-they have yummy treats.

The Los Angeles Zoo is a great place to spend a day. The animals are well cared for in spacious areas. The grounds are pleasing to the eye and the plants and trees make for a beautiful landscape. Young and old alike can enjoy this experience. The zoo is spacious too, so that even on a crowded day the visitor doesn't have a cramped experience. And, since the weather is beautiful year-round a day at the zoo is a safe bet 12 months a year. Most visitors to Los Angeles or Hollywood don't consider a day at the zoo, but they should! And, for those of you visiting from out-of-town the zoo is only a fifteen minute drive from the heart of Hollywood.

The zoo was great.. Beware of bees.. Two of my sister's got stung.. But the zoo was helpful and provided numbing sticks and first aid.. The place is very wheelchair friendly.. And there are lots of places to sit and have a picnic.

Different animals. You'll forsure see an animal you have never seen before and also some of your favorites.. It's super cool too if you like to walk because it's such a huge habitat. But i felt like Elephants that they had there got smaller cages from the last time I came.. Theres also a spot where you could feed giraffes which i found so great. its $5 tho but oh well..

The zoo is still open. You have to get a reservation online right now because of the pandemic. The zoo is much quieter and it's easier to see the animals, so I think it's definitely worth going. There are sanitizer stalls everywhere and people are practicing social distancing, wearing a mask etc.

It was such a great experience! There were a lot animals to see at this place and the food stores there had amazing food. My favorite place is the aviary. Not a lot of people go there so it's really peaceful and it's just wonderful to sit on a bench and hear the birds surrounding you. It really has a great atmosphere. The zoo is also really big and pretty easy to get lost so I recommend having a map with you.

So... I live in Las Vegas & the zoo said it was open until 5pm. I showed up at 4pm meaning I had an HOUR to look at the animals, right? Nope. The "big" animals get out away at 4pm & the only thing to view is reptiles. So I never ended up going inside. It was a waste of time.

I had reservations (due to the pandemic) for 1:00 PM two days in a row. Both days it was quite empty, which I loved. There are signs and arrows telling you which directions to walk in to avoid crowding. I also noticed that the tiger was out both days and he is usually hiding. Perhaps he feels a bit more comfortable with less people there. Plenty of snacks and drinks available. The restaurant by the giraffes is also open still.

Most hard to navigate zoo I have ever been too. I realize it's a smaller zoo and they are using every nook and cranny to fill with exhibits and animals but come on...you would think someone in their right mind would make it easier to find and see things with adequate signs. The maps are no help. The signs on the paths are minimal and when you follow it in the direction it points you to get to a specific animal, you never get there!!! Once you head down a path, now that path will split off in 2 or 3 different directions with no signs to continue you on path to see that animal you wanted. Everyone seemed lost, confused and disoriented. I've been to many zoos in my lifetime both big and small as a 1st time visitor and had no trouble. My suggestion...invest on some signs for your guests. It literally felt like you led us around confused on purpose so it would take us longer to get through so we'd stay longer. We gave up and left.

There aren't tons of animals but it's still cute and fun with little kids. We like to see a few animals on our way to the playground. Easy way to spend a few hours. We like taking the shuttle to the top and walking down to avoid some of the uphill walking.

Why only 3 stars? Well I think 3 stars is average - not great but not bad either. I based this review on the following: The zoo is located in the hills of Griffith Park so walking it can be a challenge for those with disabilities or at least difficulty walking. There are also a number of displays that are under renovation. There are also very few attendants that we could find to ask questions. Now on to the good. Lots of animals out and active. The staff we interacted with we're very helpful. The food at one of the cafes was good and reasonably priced. We felt we got our money's worth for the admission price.

If you're in the area and are looking for a way to spend the day I think this is an enjoyable choice. Leave time to walk the entire park so that you can catch the various animals when they're out and active.

The zoo is large, it has many animals and very good areas, but everything is very neglected, dirty, garbage in many places, the glass of the exhibits are carved, dirty and in many you can no longer see what is inside, and for consequently you cannot see the animal that is on display, the entrance is a bit excessive and for what it offers you, the place could be better !!
