Fun with the family and I love the animals they are awesome, they do so much for the animals and they all seemed very content (the animals) with their environment.
As a member of this the zoo, I'm sorry to say but it's in need of a renovation.
Lots of people and dirty its nice but dont expect it to be clean but other than that if you like seeing animals in a enclosure then its okay(not a big fan of zoos)
When it is busy I park across the street. I usually bring food, as food is quite expensive.
Clean and green location...... animals seems very depressed in small cages.....very sad jail life to all animals....
Enjoyed our day here. Terribly hilly though. One tram to go uphill. Was impressed how big the Elephant paddock was. Many trails with tall trees and bushes for privacy. Lots of large balls to play with after eating
I loved it here but there is a lot of bee's so be careful
It is a good experience, just that I imagined something better, what I did not like is the long line to enter the problem so great to find parking, not having quick access and everything inside the place very expensive.
Awesome!!! Nice place to walk and just distract your self from the same routine
A great place to connect with nature, and natural animals.
Very nice way to spend evening. Super nice for young children. If you are within an hour's drive it's worth it. I did not give 5 stars only because I did not think it was as good as old Griffith Park lights they had years ago but I realize that may not be fair. On Friday's either get there super early or after 7.
Best my
family love it.
I think the LA zoo is one of the nicest I have been to today. Very clean area, presence of personnel who willingly stop to give some explanation or some curiosity. Presence of every type of animals always well cared for and assisted. There are some areas dedicated to lunch and a train for a complete tour.
My family and i. Used to be member's..not anymore..! It took as many trips..to realize.
That..is more PRISON..FOR THE ANIMAL'S.
than a zoo..!
What really touch our hearts..was on 3 ocacion's..where the gorillas are.
One had his back toward the glass..and both hands..covering his ears..!
Like..! He was trying to say...go home..ppl
Or perhaps..lets trade places..
You get in here..and let us...watch you're
Freedom be taken away..!
See how would you like that..??
Really..! How about if the OWNER, Management..be lock up in a cage...for at least..3 month
And see how they would like it..???
The zeebra's..already..have on the JAIL..
UNIFORM..!
Come on ppl..think about it..!
Is not right..!!
NOOOOO ANIMAL, BIRD'S..DESERVE..
THEIR FREEDOM BE TAKEN AWAY..!
SO THERE..! NEXT TIME YOU VISIT THE
ZOO ..ANIMAL..(JAIL)
THINK ABOUT THIS..!
A perfect way to visit different parts of the world without having to leave Los Angeles.
I love the Zoo, but I had never paid parking this time I went to pay.
Don't compare it to San Diego, that's not fair, but in so far as zoos go (I've been to many) this is worth a visit for sure. The zoo is a bit of an oasis in LA. Understand there are space constraints but they really use the space as well as they could. You'll get many of the big attractions you love but there are some awesome lesser known animals too. One thing my wife and I really appreciated was we only saw a single animal displaying stereotypies the last time we were there (serval) and it was a hot but quiet day. We were also admiring the upkeep/health of the hooves, coats, skin etc... (We're both vets) Overall if you're thinking everything is bigger and better in LA you'll be disappointed because San Diego Zoo is right down the road, otherwise if you like zoos you'll like this one.
Give yourself 4 hours, it's enough time to see everything without rushing and to have a quick lunch.
Be warned, traffic can be hell around there especially if there is a big event at the Bowl.
We have also seen zoo lights but we felt this was handled much better by Columbus Zoo.
Plenty of animals to look at! However do keep in mind that you have to do some serious walking in order to see all the animals. I highly recommended going to this zoo. The zoo also has pretty good food options. Different food locations at the zoo serve different types of food. Some locations are close to the front and other are much further back. You have to walk some steep hills to get there. My point is to double check with employees that the location is open before walking all the way to the back for that specific type of food. FYI I did that and was disappointed when I had to walk all the way back to the front to get food.
My 7 and 5 year old daughters love the park there. We enjoy the burgers and fries at the zoo grill. The tram is totally worth it.
I love it BUT why do the lions look heavily sedated and the elephants barely have room
I love the zoo. And it's a great workout with all of the walking.
Pretty awesome place, great opportunities to get pics and turn them into memes.
Zoo Lights. Loved seeing this event. The light tunnels were beautiful.
Love the la zoo season pass holder all the animals come out and play around 9-11 And buy a season pass and cup and get refilled for all day for 1.19 each refill great bird show twice a day and 5 dollars feed a graffie,, lots to see and do well worth the money
Not that crowded when we went. I remember coming here when i was a kid, and happy i can bring mine now.
It was ok honestly i didnt see alot of animals and and and alot of water with nothing in it. There was alot of people bjt what i liked was the permotion with ur EBT card to get ur family in for $5each. It was a good oppertunity for the kids to have fun
Loved it! First time here. Lots of exhibits and the zoo itself is very large compared to others I have visited in other states. Lots of parking. Very clean. Be prepared for lots of walking. Food and restaurants scattered throughout which makes it nice
Oh I went for new year's Zoo lights and took a lot of pictures. Although the animals were not seen in the dark, the lighting was amazing. Must go.
A favorite spot to come often -- to see the animals and be surrounded by the beautiful landscaping. Gorgeous zoo! Always a good time.
Full family fun! Great staff, wonderful care of the animals and an awesome place overall. Beer for adults, parks for kids, and cool stuff for teens. Covers it all. Will return in the future.
Who doesn't enjoy a nice day at the zoo? Its a good place to wander around on a sunny day. Highly recommended.
The truth was that there were more animals . I did not like
This is a great place for kids and adults alike. It is local, entertaining for the kids and a great workout for the parents. It offers a good assortment of animals and insects for all to see and learn. Makes for a great weekend getaway, and help support a local zoo.
Great place to hang out and see some really cool animals.
Some of the animals were not there....u could take youre own drinks food cooler ext
My favorite part of living in Glendale is the proximity to the zoo. Our one year old loved coming here year round. Plenty of parking and a good amount of shade once your in the zoo. San Diego's zoo is on another level but he can't tell the difference and my wife and I like coming here too. Get the year pass if you enjoyed going here at all, pays for itself after two visits.
New to the area and decided to check out the Zoo with kids. I was impressed with everything from the entry fee to animal showcase. It was also nice we were able to bring in a couple snacks and drinks.
For 5 dollars the keepers let you feed baby giraffes! !
I went for the la zoo lights event for just 15 dollars a ticket it was really good its great for the little ones as there is a santa meet and greet and the light shows are absolutely breath taking
It was a beautiful experience because I was with my daughters and grandchildren
My husband and I went to the first night 2018 of LA zoo lights. It was raining outside so there were very few people that attended and we had a great time. A couple days later I got a rain check or refund sent to my email because LA zoo was not happy with their first night show? I was surprised because I thought it was absolutely beautiful and so did my husband. We didn t get to see animals but this was a different side of the LA zoo that was very cool and I highly recommend.
Baby boy loves it.
Price is not bad
Lions need bigger enclosures
Educational, fun - aa bit too crowded for my taste at times but great way to teach the kids about the wild while not leaving the urban. Have to say though part of me will willingly give up the existence of zoos - hard to watch what it does to me animals - clearly they are loved and cared for by the staff who are one by one great people (from random encounters) but still you can see some sad animals...
Better than expected. Well kept. Bring snacks and water and save some money. Great summer fun for the kids and good value for $.
We went in summer and the heat bordered on infernal! Besides the plague ... A lot to see and walk.
I did not like!! Very few animals and very high prices !!
Worth visiting one time and you can cover in 2 hours
No zoo is the same, I've been to London Zoo in UK, and Longleat Safari Park in the UK. You can't really compare them, it's a different experience. I want to go back and enjoy sketching the animals. I did feel quite sorry for the bored Orangutang, but I somehow felt that the behavior of the visitors was more to blame.
I really did enjoy the Los Angeles Zoo. I try to make it a point to visit every Zoo Everywhere I Go. Because I think that it is a great thing to support your local zoos that take care of animals that someday could be no longer more walking the Earth.
I just feel that everyone should always visit a zoo all the money in the proceeds go to taking care of the animals and it's a great way to see animals that you never get to see up close unless sure in a control environment
I will always have an affinity for zoo's so don't expect the harsh critic in me to come out when reviewing the Los Angeles Zoo. I must say though, I had a great time when I went. Recently revamped from what I but am unable to compare as I never visited the old zoo. I have been to many zoo throughout the world and I must say it holds its own. Los Angeles is a major world city. How can it not have a great zoo. It still doesn't compare to San Diego zoo as that one is inherently the best zoo in the world but hey had a lot to offer. The enclosures were large and spacious for the bigger animals and the floor plan was laid out well. Enough to keep you guessing after a full day there but you can leave with confidence that you covered most the grounds and attractions. I hate paying $5 for a bottle of Dasani though.
Lovely walks. Great reptile house. Komodo dragon. Baby snow leopards! Come on! What are you waiting for? Also pretty decent children's playground. Great elephant Pavilion, too. Come prepared to walk. There's a lot of ground to cover here. If you plan to come here more than once, get a membership. It'll pay for itself in two or three visits.
Waiste of time and money!!! The zoo lights were just that, lights!!! It was cold and expencive!!! Can't wait for next year!!! Not!!!
Cute clean and well organized suitable for a family tour
Love coming here. Great selection of exotic animals. It doesn't compare to San Diego zoo but can't complain. Its local and its definitely a gem
Huge zoo with a lot of different animals. Plan around 2-4 hours for a visit. Entry fee was 20$ for adults. Huge parking lot.
We love going to the Zoo on weekdays, weekend is unbelievably crowded.
Fun place and food good. I went on college assignment and learned a lot about different animals. Glad I went.
Love this zoo, it s small but they have a good variety.
