Rooms are nice and since I booked under the Visa Luxury Hotel Collection, the benefits received with package is absolutely fantastic!
We went to a luau, it was pretty cool. The food was super good and the shows were good as well
It was beautiful and the pools and beach were amazing. That being said, when you pay a premium to stay at a Waldorf, you expect things to be "better". The rentals for boogie boards and paddle boards were way too high for the quality of equipment. Go to Boss Frog's to rent stuff instead. Also, the food was just soso. I really expected more. Finally, no information was given to us, before our stay or during, about their Luau or other events. Only a sales pitch for a $2500 club membership. With staying here? Yes. Worth eating here or using their equipment for the beach? Nope.
Amazing location, service, and amenities. The pool is set up perfect with an adult area and a kid's area. The number of slides was great to keep kids have a blast. I would also, put the Grande Spa as a must go to. There are waterfall massaging areas that are like no other. Basically, a 2 column of warm-hot water falls down from about 8-10 feet above which when hitting your shoulders is euphoric. The grounds are immaculate and elegantly lit with waterfalls and ponds all over. The negative I would have is the food. It's decent but not for the price level it's at. Yes, resort pricing is usually higher but generally would say for the quality it should be pricing at about 30% of what it is. We had several of the different restaurants and each has the same result subpar for a resort. If they worked on that I would throw a 5 star here but 3 is fair since food and beverage is a massive part of any resort. Bring your own snacks or eat offsite to get a better experience on Maui.
Beautiful gardens, spectacular views, impeccable service. A dream!
This resort hotel is amazing and the employees offer great customer service. The rooms are well kept up and the facility is beautiful and decorated extremely well. The pools and the water amenities are fun for both adults and kids and there is easy access to the beach. Highly recommended!
This resort is a world-class resort. The Wailea beach that it's on is one of the best in Maui. Incredible golf and upscale shopping next to the resort.
Most incredible resort I've ever stayed at, just wonderful!
Very nice place to stay on the weekend with family and friends.
Awful! The rooms are so musty and moldy. Their solution to the problem was to move me to the room above with the same problem (I suspect they all have problems considering their condition/age) and go spray it with deodorizer before I got there, which is a double whammy on my immune system. Then to top it off, the rooms are right above the resort boiler system or something making it insanely loud.
The resort was stunning ,the artwork was amazing especially the sculptures. The staff was great. But I do have a problem with the rooms. I had some ants and requested attention but no one ever came. The rooms do need upgrade. The outside furniture on the balcony was old ,not maintained. The beds were in poor shape and need replacement. For such a beautiful Resort the rooms definitely need an upgrade but the cleaning service was good. I would go again because it's such a gorgeous outside area. If they want to continue to be a four-star Resort they must upgrade the room furniture. The views were spectacular.
The Grand has amazing views and a great pool setup. They just redid the Lava Slide. Located right on Wailea Beach.
Very nice and courteous staff. The pool is hard to get a spot at though.
The accommodations at the Grand Wailea are elegant but tropical. Our room wasn't ready even though we checked in at 7pm. We had to wait an hour but they gave us a $100 room credit. The staff were very generous with things like toiletries and always putting cold bottled water in our car whenever we left. We had no other problems with the accommodations as the rooms were large and the beds comfortable. No room service menu in the room but I know it was available because I saw trays outside other people's rooms. No hotel guide either. The pools were gorgeous and fun for the kids but wished they were open longer! The slides and lazy river aren't open past 5pm, which competes with doing other island activities during the day. At night the sounds of the luau travel around the resort.
Amazingly staff, wonderful food and amenities, beautiful grounds and rooms, great for families!
Phenomenal. So many facilities even has a beach in the front.
Great hotel! The pools are very kids friendly. We could spend the whole day here in the hotel not get bored. Great food and view from the restaurant.
Everything about the Gran Wailea contributes to a great stay. The setting is lovely and walking through the property is refreshing. Staff are all wonderful and each meal had a wonderful surprise. Sitting on the porch in paradise with coffee and breakfast, could not have been better!
They're working on major updating. It's a terrific & large property. I would check with them about areas that may be in the midst of renovation during a stay.
Beautiful place. I've attended their luau in the past, and now I've spent time walking around seeing the beautiful grounds. It's expensive, but a beautiful place to visit
Just the best. Second time here and all the staff are great, amazing view. Its expensive.... But there's great options close bunif you want to walk to save some money. Go see Mark at the bar.... Hes a magician. Ask for the cucumber awesomeness.
This is a beautiful resort that deserves a 5 star rating. I only wish they had less expensive parking.
Beautiful resort for families! The pools are a little run down but that's okay because there are so many and it's just all together beautiful! Nice vacation, honeymoon, or even a business presentation!
Great resort. Pool is awesome and a ton of fun for the kids (and adults) bummed the big slide is out of order. Could use a new coat of paint but all in all everything is great.
Here for our honeymoon. Love it. Kayaking out to snorkel with turtles was a highlight of our trip
Such a beautiful location - you get what you pay for. Awesome hospitality, food, and resort ameneties
Everytime it is Amazing and relaxing truly a hawaiian experience
Multiple pools with multi tier water slides and lazy river were so much fun. Room was clean and staff was very nice.
I can only speak to the spa, but it was amazing. Be sure to arrive 1 hour early to enjoy all the pretreatment amenities
Everything we expected and more!
I went to Maui to get married and decided to stay at this resort, we talked to some locals there in Maui and they also agree it is one of the best resorts in Maui. What a great place, upon arrival we were given leis, the check in process was quick and we were off to our room. The room was beautiful with views of the ocean and their very well taken care of gardens and ponds. We had a king sized bed with dual showers and a huge tile tub (in room spa), mini fridge with some free water, coffee maker with free coffee, iron and board, hair dryer and free soaps and lotions and let's not for get the awesome free wifi. The staff is very kind and upbeat, everyone says aloha and mahalo which really helps with the Maui vibe. Our cleaning lady was one of the best we've ever had, turn-down service was also exceptional, we have champagne with chocolate covered strawberries, towel swans and orchid flowers in the bath and on our bed with Mr and Mrs pillows and flowers everywhere what a perfect way to spend the night after a wedding!
I see a lot of negative reviews and I just don't understand them, our room was perfect, the service was perfect and this place is like heaven on earth. Folks, if you are going to Maui expect to pay more it is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean after all! We had our breakfast included and the buffet in the morning is a great way to start your day before hitting the pools and the ocean. We visited about 10 different beaches on this island and Wailea is on the top 5 of our favorites (if not number 1). There are fees 30 per day per room and 30 per day for parking. We ate mostly at the resort, the quality of the food is very good but pricey (again it is Maui) after all said and done we paid about 6k for 7 days not including airfare or tips or excursions. I would highly recommend this place if you got the money, it was the perfect place to marry the woman of my dreams she only deserved the best and this is one of the most beautiful places in the world. One of my favorite things about this resort is the night time walks through the gardens, the fire torches are an awesome touch. I could go on and on but this place it is a 5 out of 5!
UGLY building. Pool was INSANELY packed for Hawaii. Dont stay here, stay in the Condo behind it
The hotel was nice. We were supposed to have a ocean view room and there was a chapel blocking our whole view which was a bummer and misleading. The main pool was closed for remodel but looking like it will be very nice when its finished.
Beautiful place. Bit pricey but nice to splurge. You see a few celebs... it's their hide out.
You need to dig in to your pockets and afford yourself a dinner at this place for a memorable lifetime experience.
Best Hotel in Maui! I have went here for now 7-9 years and it is a blast. It is quite expensive but I feel that every cent was worth it. I'm a kid so my parents pay for it but they enjoy it as well. BEST HOTEL EVER!!!!!
Beautiful resort spread over a vast area. Very welcoming staff, made us feel very comfortable. We had a oceanview room. We loved the beautiful views. Big rooms and very clean. Had a patio as well. Beach is right there. There are multiple pools and restaurants. The resort is filled with greenery and well maintained. Slightly expensive but would definitely recommend this place for vacation. Worth the money.
This is by far the best resort on the island! Service, amenities, food quality, clean, ect..... little pricey but more than worth it! I am very hard to please! They far surpassed my difficult expectations!! Good job to all of them! If I'm ever back I'll be staying here for sure!
The stage was so low that people sitting towards the middle to the back were unable to see. Also, the check in time was 430 but the staff forced people to line up in the heat and wait 30 minutes until 5 to enter. Not sure the point of that. For the price you pay, I'd shop around.
Overpriced and overrated. Despite expensive rooms had to pay 30$ per day for parking, ~45$ for breakfast, 20$ for 10inch pizza by the pool. They just have ridiculous prices that are out of this world.
Not to forget their bell boy damaged my surfboard, had rent a car, drive for an hour to get it fixed. Oh and they charged med 30$ for parking (wasn't planning to rent it otherwist).
Beatiful grounds and clean rooms. Shopping on premises.
Beautiful property. Aging a bit, but still worth the visit.
Fine resort, clean, friendly staff, good food. Restaurants and bars close far too early at night.
Give the building a makeover to catch up with excellent customer service and you have the makings of a great vacation. The building is very 20th century. I would still recommend the Grand Wailea.
SAP conference in town and all normal rules for any non SAP people are off. Ed Sherran playing tonight and they close the pools for any normal diamond members or guests. Such BS.
Next year they aren t at this hotel so it is a non event but shows how they treat a normal customer when a big client is in town.
People are so nice here the pools are great very clean a bit pricey but so worth the price the views are great
Beautiful room overlooking the ocean & chapel grounds. Pools were wonderful, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Dinner at Humu was an excellent experience all together. Glad they were able to help make our honeymoon so special!
Pampered like never before! Lovely day at the Spa, and delicious lunch at the bistro. Ambiance is 2nd to none.
Visited the spa. Heavenly 2 hour circut soaking in the mineral pools and getting massaged by the waterfall shower.
Great hotel! Beautiful property, spacious rooms and fantastic staff. Highly recommend.
Definitely a five star experience at the Grand Wailea. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with carefully manicured lawns and pathways that are landscaped beautifully with local plants, flowers and thress. The grounds include several pools ranging from a sand bottom kids pools, pools for beach volleyball, a lazy river type circuit and an adults only pool.
The lobby is well, grand and the rooms are modern clean and attractive with all of the amenities you would expect. Staff is incredibly helpful with a well staffed concierge team that helped us to get the most our of our visit to Maui. No matter who we spoke with they were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Dining provides several options ranging from grab and go style shops, to the more upscale Cafe Molokini and finally to Humu, an absolutely incredible restaurant featuring fresh local seafood, steaks and more. They also feature an exceptional vegan menu for those who prefer it.
We couldn't have had a better experience than we had at the Grand Wailea.
A beautiful expensive hotel. The pools & slides are a lot of fun, but needs some maintenance. The only water elevator in the world in the pool. Food is expensive and pool side service takes a while. The beach is perfect! walk along the beach is very nice to see other hotels.
Rooms were very nice.
We went for the Spa. It was amazing and the level of pampering was off the charts!! The staff is attentive and professional.
The Grand Wailea is one of the nicest hotels in Wailea. It is a very large hotel with several pools, restaurants, bars and a spa. The hotel is located next to the sea so the beach is close. The restaurants are not cheap but the food is good.
Overall, I can honestly say that this is one of the best resorts at which I have ever stayed. The service has been generally nothing short of impeccable and the Napua Tower rooms are unbelievably nice. Spending the days at the pool or on our lanai (balcony, in Hawaiian) made this a relaxing trip, while the free breakfast, mid-day tea, and cocktail hour (which really runs from 3-10) were excellent benefits. We came as part of a large corporate experience and as a Hilton Diamond, I was upgraded to the Napua Tower which was described as a "five star hotel within the 4.5 star main hotel". I would generally agree with that sentiment. The rooms were beautiful, the service spectacular and the amenities on point. Zenith, the bartender for cocktail hour(s), knew us and what we drank by day one and took care of us the rest of the trip.
I could spend my time raving about the grounds (infinitely better than next door's Four Seasons), but instead I will point out the few reasons I could not give the hotel five stars.
1) Room condition: when we walked into the room, everything generally seemed to be clean and in its place. At a "five star hotel", however, there should not be two opened bottles of water in the fridge. There should be the two bottles that concierge floor guests receive (per a placard in the room), and nothing more. We did not receive those bottles.
2) Internet access: wifi in the rooms is generally good, but the access in the 6th floor Napua lounge is horrendous. I should be able to work during cocktail hour, especially given that this was a business trip. The ethernet cables are screwed into the two locked-down computers in the lounge, so trying to get any work done on a machine other than those requires relocating to the lobby area.
3) Waterbottles: most tropical resorts provide unlimited water to guests, especially on executive floors. We were able to get bottles during breakfast and cocktail hours, but not down at the pool. There, they saw it fit to charge $5.50. Those charges should be wiped from the bill for Napua Tower guests, given that if you plan ahead you can hoard 6-8 bottles of the day (which we ended up doing).
4) Consistency of service: the majority of the service staff were excellent, but there were areas of failure. The pool attendants tended to disappear for 30-45 minutes, and with the bar often closed upstairs, you really didn't have much choice but to hope they would come back and notice you. There was also a lot of confusion at check-out and I was told that as a Diamond member, I could only get late check out for an hour although they were willing to sell me four hours for $275. I was told this was due to availability. I found it interesting my room could be made available for 3 extra hours magically somehow, if I paid. Same thing at the pool - two days the upper pool closed at 2pm for our corporate events, yet they still wanted the same $350 for a cabana as if I was able to stay in it until 10pm.
5) Food: the food here was fine. It was nothing special, and given the number of restaurants in walking distance (major shoutout to Monkeypod), they really should step it up and maybe consider not charging $22 for a hamburger. The drinks had the same issue - watered down, not consistent, and $15 for a cocktail in a plastic cup. I pay less at the Plaza Hotel across from my office in New York, and they have the name.
In the end, if I come back to Hawaii, will definitely return. I probably would not stay outside of the Napua Tower section given that those amenities really made the hotel stand out. I doubt the "normal" portion is worth the cost (note: one morning we had an early breakfast at the cafe, and two pastries and two coffees were $25).
Our stay overall was great. We were put in a handicap accessible room (neither of us needed it) which meant we did not have a bathtub which was really inconvenient because we couldn't bath our baby in our room. The pools are fun, and although the beach can get crowded, it is pretty nice. The gardens at the Grand Wailea are also beautiful. The staff is absolutely phenomenal; they are friendly and respectful and will make sure you enjoy your stay.
Beautiful resort, room had spectacular views, housekeeping was exceptional, valet was quick and offered great help for planning our trips. The sand on the beach here is the softest I've ever felt, it's like velvet! Lots of pools to check out. Overall great experience, highly recommend!
Gorgeous grounds, rooms, and dining options. Enjoy a day at the pool or beach.
Great kid friendly resort with lots of food options and good service. It's not inexpensive, but our family will definitely return.
The Grand Wailea's decorations for Christmas are the best I have ever seen. From the moment you drive up, you seem palm trees elegantly decorated. The entrance if full of Christmas florals, Christmas trees and the whole feel of the hotel is joyful. I highly recommend folks come here for the Christmas holidays.
Wow best hotel ever seen in my life and add to that just go with movie was made in here too wow can believe i am here
Property is beautiful. Staff was polite and friendly.
Loud night time wedding party with music blaring under our window should have been disclosed. It seemed like beach chairs and cabanas were at a premium and unavailable unless you stand in a line at 6:30am. Pools were very crowded and not enjoyable.
Better communication would have made our stay much better.
Freaking amazing! Definitely get your money's worth
Best place we've ever been! It was the last place we went as a family before my father-in-law passed away. We have such wonderful memories! Great staff, food and a hole lot of happiness! Thanks for the wonderful experience! Hope to come back some day!
A beautiful place to stay, but awfully expensive. Although the price is expected from a five star hotel chain. The staff is incredibly nice and they give you flowers as you come. Should definitely wander around the resort and enjoy their various services. As well as a sunset loving over the church.
Mahalo to the awesome team at Grand Wailea, thank you for the amazing service and accommodations!
Love the pools.the folks at valet parking are kind if unfriendly.downright grumpy
Awesome resort! I hope to be rich enough to stay here someday.
So incredible! My husband and I did the tropical paradise spa package, pricey, but definitely worth it! 3 and a half hours and you get to use their hydrotherapy room beforehand. It's fantastic! The staff is incredible, so friendly! Spa Grande is a definite must do in Maui!
Went here for the spa and massage. Spa was beautiful. Massage was standard. I do wish the couple's treatment allowed you to use the spa facility with your spouse. Good one time experience. Main reason I probably won't go again is the price.
Room keys didn t work the first two times we tried to open our room. Very frustrating to go back and forth only for security to have to come and give working cards. Bedding also had stains (I think Marinara sauce on them?). Extremely unimpressed especially with the price tag.
Amazing grounds. The luau was not quite to our liking, but the grounds are amazing. The pools and the church left a lasting impression.
Breathtaking views, beautiful resort, delicious food, excellent customer service!
Best vacation so far. Beautiful weather and great atmosphere. Would love to come back.
Worst experience at a laua.. Staff were rude & ruined the whole vibe of the evening.. Do not recommend the wailea laua.
Beautiful resort, staff is great, we've had a wonderful experience!
