My favourite hotel. Lots of sentimental reasons for this, but in addition to this, the hotel has great amenities, very friendly staff and is in the best location. I would recommend this hotel to anyway wanting to stay in a great location, in luxury, in Melbourne. Thank you Hyatt.

The view from our room was not that beautiful as described by its website but we enjoyed staying there. Friendly stuff, clean environment and lovely layout. Whenever we came back from sightseeing, nice scents from the lobby welcomed us.

Dinner at Collins Kitchen. The Pop-Up Smokehouse restaurant served up the most succulent short rib and the best value of 400g of tender rib eye I have ever had the delight to devour. The Beast in me was civilised by the smooth elegance of the service and ambience. Why would you go elsewhere to dine?!

Stayed here for our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Absolutely delightful stay. Stunning views from our room out over the Yarra and to the sea. Great facilities - being able to dip in the pool and spa after a long day of walking was so relaxing. The room was tidy, spacious and elegant, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

A five star experience down to the very last grain of detail. The main point of difference I felt was that it was as if the many service personnel was one single person. I never had to reexplain, the staff just knew what was happening next. Odd as it may be, it made the stay feel overall very comfortable.

The ambience is just great. Perfect place to settle in if you are on a business trip. The breakfast buffet has lot many options. Although I restricted myself to cereals and fruits, still I think a lot of options were there for me to explore. Loved the dinning area. My room was spick and span. The hotel staff at the front desk were very warm. The flinders and swanston streets nearby are quite lively and worth multiple visits.
I overall enjoyed my stay here.

Great hotel in Collins Street Melbourne. We stayed...

Great hotel in Collins Street Melbourne. We stayed on the 26th floor with a view of the Yarra River.
Highly recommended taking the package that includes vallet parking otherwise parking will cost you $60 per day as of 2020. The drop off and valet parking are located on Russell Street.
A cheaper option for parking is the adjacent Secure parking for $15 a day on weekends and public holidays or there is parking directly opposite the Russell Street entrance to the Grand Hyatt for $13 a day weekends and public holidays.
Also recommend the package that includes drinks and food on the 31st floor for two hours from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
The food was plentiful, the beer was cold and the wine was good quality. Top shelf spirits were also available. Get up there when it opens at 6.00 pm as seats get hard to get by 6.30 pm.
They regularly replenished the food. The pate was the best I have had since visiting Spain. Eating the pate took me straight back there.
This package also included breakfast on the 31st floor. The breakfast was good. It was a buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, eggs done different ways, or anything else for that matter, were available by asking one of the numerous wait staff. There was plenty of salmon and mushrooms. The bacon was streaky which is not my favourite type, but there was plenty of choice for breakfast juices and cereals.
Our package also included a 4.00 pm checkout.

The grand hyatt has a lovely atmosphere. As expected with a luxury hotel, prices are not cheap, but its one of those things you go in knowing. If you want a nice place to stay I couldnt recommend a place more.

Upscale hotel in a great location! We were in a Grand Deluxe View room on the 21st floor and the view was grand indeed! Had views of the city and the Yarra river. Room was very clean and quiet, marble bathroom looked amazing and was very spacious. Very impressed with the quality, the price is in the higher side but you definitely get more you pay for. Staff were VERY friendly and accommodating! Buffet breakfast at Collins Kitchen is worth the $42. Would stay again. I recommend the Grand Hyatt to anyone travelling to Melbourne who wants to add a touch of class and luxury on their trip.

Hyatt Buffet - Went for their buffet with a few work colleagues. I can highly recommend it. It has excellent fresh seafood ,sashimi , roasts, Asian & European inspired dishes cooked fresh as well as mouth watering desserts. Based on quality of the food and price it is way better than the Conservatory at Crown and on par with the Langham buffet in quality (beats Langham in seafood though), however the Langham has way more on offer (Indian section, make your pasta etc) The Hyatt buffet is only available on a sunday except during the festive season. Enjoy whilst you can!!

Came here for lunch with some friends. The restaurant area was occupied by a "popup" restaurant so we were placed in the lounge to order from Hyatt's normal menu (ate sitting on sofas at a table that was too high to be comfortable).

Ordered the club sandwich which ended up being fairly average. It looked nice and was filling, but didn't taste particularly good, nor particularly bad. Go to Trunk on Exhibition St instead for a great club sandwich.

We used to eat here often, today we were there for a xmas dinner. just like the past few times, the staff were rude, especially the 'chefs'. I was given a strange look when i asked for a little more as i got 2 slithers of the arse end of the pork belly. Overall, there was lack of quality food throughout, and we were ushered out for the next sitting at 3pm. Definitely will not be going here again, nothing more than a glorified sizzlers.
