I visited the hotel for a conference. The facility is in a fantastic location but the hotel seems to have seen better days. Some problems with electric current but otherwise all in the norm.

In these days I stayed at the Grand Hotel Continental. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable, kind, and polite, excellent cleanliness, excellent food, and a lot of tranquility. The beach is well maintained. I really enjoyed the piano bar that made the atmosphere even more serene, and Mr. Mario's coffee was a delicacy. A praise, in particular, to the waiter Francesco and Hans. I advise .

The worst experience in a "4-star" hotel. : 1.- We could not unbook this hotel although we tried 6 months in advance due to medical reasons. (1 day after booking).
2.- The quality of rooms, food and staff is maximal for a 3-star hotel

Large room with cobwebs. Bathroom with encrased joints and mold in the shower. And above all do not expect a warm welcome or helpful staff. Finally we woke up with lots of BED PUNEISE ... FUCK THIS ESTABLISHMENT

Giving it 2 stars is exaggerating.

Giving it 2 stars is exaggerating.
A dilapidated structure, the rooms do not match the photos, they are small, poorly furnished, we happened to have the bathroom redone, but to hear the other guests is a disaster.
To get the sun loungers at the pool you have to make the races to those who arrive first, on the beach they give you the umbrella of the last row, because the first ones are reserved for those who pay ... but we paid for a nice package ..
There is no bar at the pool,
Lamination is non-existent and unfortunately the hotel is positioned in nowhere ...
There is also an animation for children.
As far as food is concerned, you eat badly and wait an hour between courses
Unable.
The only positive thing is the breakfast.
I will never go back, and also I informed the agency that sold me the package not to send anyone because the game is not worth the candle .... there is no relationship between quality and price
With what you pay they should give much, much more
Vacation to forget

Beautiful location with direct access to the beach. very beautiful Olympic size pool. Rooms a little dated, but comfortable. nice hotel management. With a nice renovation it would be perfect, it is still well managed and kept clean

BEACH

BEACH
We came to this hotel because of the beach pictures. On arrival we were informed we could not go onto the beach due to poor weather. No rain, no lightning, no wind... just overcast / cloudy. Not only could we not swim in the water, we could not even walk onto the beach to have a look. The beaches on either side of us were open and allowing people to swim.
The next day we went down at 8:00 which is when they open, but you cannot sit in the seats up front by the water. The first row is for paid yearly reservations (so when the beach was PACKED later, that row was nearly empty). Also the next two rows were held for handicap / disabled / elderly. This is good. It's funny though, and worth mentioning... these chairs are the FURTHEST you can get from the washrooms, showers, boardwalk, and any other hotel facilities. Also, if you want the chairs that lay flat (shown on the website) there is of course a charge. Finally, hotel guests are restricted to a small section (3 rows) on one side... the remainder is open only to other paying guests (18 for the day). Beach hours are 8 until , so no watching the sunset or sunrise.

ROOM
(Standard room, $260.00 per night)
Too hot. Air conditioner is weak / broken)
Bed was not comfortable, but we've learned in a month touring Italy not to expect much at this price point. Washroom was great, shower was awesome (good height, great water pressure and temperature etc.) We had a terrific view... of the street below and a ledge covered in bird poop. Music and noise until 3am might have bothered us more if the super hot room didn't already leave us unable to sleep.

SERVICE
Top notch. Friendly staff, happy to help, very informative, fluent in English, always available without any waiting.

BREAKFAST
Nice selection. Great coffee.
I got in trouble twice for putting my ice cold pancakes in the toaster which I guess is meant for BREAD ONLY.

BIKES
Free to borrow which is awesome, but they are in VERY rough shape. They warned us not to take them too far, as "they break down all the time"

POOL
Beautiful, clean, large... but quite cold. And the hot tub in the pictures, is not a hot tub. Same hours of operation and same weather shut downs as the beach. We were disallowed access at 7 (they close at 8) because earlier there was a little rain, even though at the time it was quite nice out. Very upsetting as it was a hot day, we couldn't swim in the pool OR the ocean, and our room's air conditioner was lousy.

Attractive hotel, but in my opinion, not great value unfortunately.

Beautiful hotel of which I could only appreciate the dining room and the entrance hall. I had lunch on Easter Sunday with my family and I ate and drank very well. Service, in short, everything perfect. Quality / honest price. I will return and then recommend it. Bravi!

Nice hotel with perfect location to the beach. Room a bit old-fashioned but very clean. Very friendly staff. Parking in front of the house available, but better book your own underground car park. Breakfast was great, selection true for Italian standards more than varied.
Slightly negative: prices in the hotel for drinks and snacks covered, gym with too few appliances (a stebber broken in my stay). It would be desirable to have a small wellness area with sauna and whirlpool.

On the beach, within walking distance to great restaurants. Good breakfast and nice restaurant in the hotel. Very convenient. Camp Darby is 6km away, Pisa airport is 16km away. Very friendly staff. Bar is open until 1230am, and the beer on tap is delicious. Worth staying in.

Beautiful rooms and clean, the restaurant, despite having dishes that are not to my taste, is equally good, it also offers a wide choice of buffets of appetizers, vegetables, salads, fruit and desserts. The 50m pool is very nice, convenient and close to the beach. There is also a gym!

Was ok. nothing spectacular. rooms were old fashion and they smell. It was fall so the weather was not that good, so no pool and no beach. that 5 star should be down graded to a 3 star during the winter months.

Nice, clean hotel with simple rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the excellent breakfast and dinner in a restaurant or outdoors near the sea where you can admire the wonderful sunsets. Nice pool and decent beach. Some rooms have no balcony but have spectacular sea views. We have been fine.

One of the largest resorts in Tirrenia, with direct access to its own beach. As nice as it is, they lost my vote when I realized that the AC didn't work. Yes, you can open the windows and enjoy the cool Mediterranean breeze, but you also have to brave the rain, bugs, and the odd errant pigeon. Breakfast is decent, if you like Vienna cocktail weenies. Overall adequate but there's nicer places to stay in Tirrenia and Livorno.

Upon arrival they welcome you saying that given the arrival time you have to arrange to find a place in the streets adjacent to the structure or to park in front of the hotel and pay 50 cents per hour.
Swimming pool ok perhaps one of the few strong points of the hotel.
When you go to the beach you find poorly organized staff who after hours of waiting and various attempts with a lot of piss you find a place (but after a few hours the lifeguard arrives saying that it is not a place dedicated to the structure)
The room is nice, too bad for the view on the emergency exit and 2 single beds to make a double
Never again will I go to this property. Of 4 stars maybe it only has breakfast!

I'm sorry to give bad judgments, but here it verges on the attempted scam ....... what is shown in the photos does not reflect reality in the least, and the beauty is that it is not the worst thing. Asking a minimum of cleaning for what you pay in a 4 star I don't think is asking for the Moon! I'm talking about the basics of hygiene, in the sanitary there were hairs everywhere, dust and dirt! In the rest of the room cobwebs and stains even on the curtain ..... exiting the room you can see the carpet in the worn corridor and dirt on the stairs! As soon as we sat down to have breakfast, we exchanged a few words with a couple sitting near our table, who among other things complained that in a week's stay, they had to personally clean the room, given the total inability of the staff in charge, who were asked not to even enter their cleaning room! The service at breakfast was painful, dozens of people crowded in the queue at the counters, where there was only one attendant, you would even want to drink only coffee ..... returned to the room to prepare the luggage (we were only one night), I noticed the cleaning lady in the next room, in a clumsy attempt to bend over to pick up a towel, due to her build, which I will avoid specifying the ethnicity so as not to suffer pathetic accusations of fake racism, but that makes it clear how "accurate" cleaning is ensured !!!! Finally, we asked the gentleman on duty at the reception for advice on a good pizzeria in Tirrenia, who had the courage to reply that he was not even a local !!!!!!! A shame ..... to never see us again!

The hotel is large, in a good location, and is well managed, in general, given the spaces, it is also clean, friendly and trained staff, the rooms are acceptable as well as the bathrooms but a little more attention to detail and the cleanliness of up (it's a 4 star) wouldn't hurt.
Great breakfast ... minus some guests. The parking pass is also good even if I would close an area outside for guests, however I recommend it and I will be back.

Suitable for a short stay, but not for a vacation.
- Breakfast okay but nothing earth-shattering.
- Staff partly unfriendly
- shower unfortunately leaking (despite alleged renovation)
- Establishment very old
- Pool only with bathing cap
- Access to the sea only from 9:00 a.m.

The hotel is old and run down. The lobby looked pretty good at first glance. The rooms and the corridors unfortunately not. Everything is old and totally worn out. We did not feel well. The carpets in the hallways were stained and dirty. The equipment in the rooms is definitely in need of a long overhaul. I had booked a room with a balcony, which has a bathtub. I did not know that hotels still have bathtubs. Unfortunately, this was a very old model with a very high edge. In the 8 months pregnant one dares such obstacles no more, so we had asked for another room without a tub. You had that, unfortunately then without a balcony. Nevertheless, the price for the originally booked room was calculated. In both rooms the equipment was old and you did not feel well. Also the breakfast could have been better. Freshly cut fruit did not exist, for example.

Good but a lot of 3 stars are better ... the cleanliness is not the appointment in the rooms, the bar prices are more than expensive (whereas once every two spoons to mix your coffee is dirty .. ..) ... even if the price of the stay is not excessive, the hotel is more of the level 3 stars than 4. I have cited a few examples but there is a profusion. The management claims that the staff speaks French ... I'm looking for which ones? Those I met do not speak it ...

The worst hotel stay of my life!

The worst hotel stay of my life!
Living took place in August of 2018.
Room 130 assigned: dark, with a column in the middle and with a small window that overlooked a "magnificent" panorama of tar roofs and garbage collection (see photo); despite the immediate request for a change, it was replaced the next day.
Rooms with a very limited number of power sockets, none near the bed, and in some cases only in the bathroom. To make up for the shortage, they use multiple sockets and slippers that do not guarantee any security (see photo).
Cleaning deficient and poorly organized.
Unacceptable maintenance. Already on arrival there was a need for numerous maintenance interventions: telephone, shower faucet, light switch near the bed malfunctioning or not working. Interventions requested several times at reception. The moment the maintenance personnel entered the room, instead of solving the problem, he created others. An example: they left the room without water.
The lift that allows the disabled to reach the pool level without making stairs (excellent solution, if it worked) could not be used independently, it was not equipped with any bell for requesting help or instructions displayed with the description of the operation; above all, none of the staff knew how it worked. I saw more disabled people stuck in the elevator not knowing how to ask for help.
When I explained everything to the director, I was told that his primary commitment was to fill the hotel and then customer satisfaction came!
Given all the problems encountered, they did not even have the taste to make a discount on the first night spent in the room with a view on the garbage.
I would not have expected such a stay even in a very small category pension, let alone in a "grand hotel".

Hotel well put good kitchen cozy rooms. Good and kind staff. We did not like the beach service in front of the hotel. We were used to serving the Adriatic beaches. Beautiful and clean sea water

Breakfast was great, pool was great, beach was great and hotel was great too. The first thing that bothers us a bit are the rooms and the badekappenpflicht in the pool, but you get used to it.

Are you looking for a nice and relaxing beach wher...

Are you looking for a nice and relaxing beach where you can enjoy a cold beer and some good atmosphere? Don't come here, go somewhere else.

The beach itself is great, shallow water with pure sand and no pebbles, lifeguards on duty. However, the beach regulations are hilarious and they are strictly enforced. For example, if you hang your towel to dry under your umbrella, they will tell you to take it down. I have no idea why. The beach rules prohibits eating at the beach, playing ball or using any beach toys, you can't drink from glass bottles, you have to sit facing away from the ocean in uncomfortable beach chairs and so on. You can rent a sun lounger (the types you can lay on) for 10 EUR or so, but it's quite a process. They have to go to a shed and find one, but you're not likely to get close to the ocean, and if you turn it to face the ocean they will probably tell you to turn it back around. You can use sun loungers without an umbrella for free, but you have to go to a designated area in the center of the beach where they are clustered together, and you can't remove them from that spot. People approach you frequently to sell all sorts of junk like fake sunglasses, but they promptly walk away if you say no.

The same regulatory nightmare goes for the pool. Previously they enforced the use of swim caps in order to access the pool (read previous reviews), but they didn't enforce that on anyone when we visited. There's just no atmosphere anywhere, you're not allowed to enjoy yourself. The beach closes down after 7 or 8 PM and you can't really access it. Really weird place, probably alright if you like having it quiet.

As for the hotel, we bought an upgraded room with a balcony,. The decor and the entire hotel is dated. Our bathroom was refurbished and decent, but the bed was somewhat hard, and the room (or rather the air condition) smelled like smoke from the 1970's. The air condition worked properly though. The balcony didn't even have a small table, which is ridiculous, and they use transparent tarps to separate the balconies, so you could see straight through to the neighbouring balcony. Other than that, cleaning was decent, there's a minibar, room service, takes about 20-25 minutes from Pisa (or the airport) with a taxi, approximately 35-40 EUR one way.

Perfect location, by the sea and close to the center, spotless rooms, excellent cuisine, staff in a courteous and competent room, splendid Olympic size swimming pool. The only flaw of acceptance, I found the reception cold and unfriendly.

No free internet, room was small and uncomfortable. People warned us not to eat there for dinner. Keys had massive key ring on them felt like a road side gas station key. Rooms were badly in need of fresh paint and cleaning.
