I had a fantastic time at this resort. The rooms are clean, food was good, nice amenities and activities, and best of all the staff. The staff was amazing and really went above and beyond for a platinum elite member. Samantha at the check-in desk started off my trip by greeting me and always making sure I had a nice room. She also clearly explained what was available at the resort and some nice things to do off the property. Lucia made some good coffee and was always kind to remember me. Finally, I can't write a review without mentioning Naomi. She made the trip for me. She took care of me the entire visit at the restaurant to ensure my dietary restrictions were taken care of. She offered lots of great vegan options for me to eat at the resort when I thought there were none. Thank you, Naomi! Lastly, thanks to the chef for the special vegan cookies. I appreciate it and will not forget. I recommend this resort and will return. I loved the free bikes to explore the island.

Firstly, I must validate some of the "lower star" reviews about the beach and the clarity of the water. There really wasn't that much of a beach nor was the water very clear when we were there. HOWEVER, the tide receded every day when we were there and it was very windy while we were in Grand Cayman as is typical for January. This was evident when we went to Smith's Cove AND that Sting Ray City tours were CANCELLED due to high waves at the winds.
Understanding that those situations were because we were at the resort in January, there is nothing Marriott could have done... unless they have invented some kind of wave cancelling or high wind reduction machine.
Our stay was fantastic. The staff was super friendly, the accommodations and hotel were clean and everything was taken care of. We did not know that there was a free shuttle to take you to Royal Palm, Georgetown, Smith's Cove and Camana Bay. The food and drinks onsite were fantastic but a bit pricey, but that ended up being common place for everywhere in Grand Cayman. I would definitely recommend this hotel and when we come back to Grand Cayman, we know we will stay at the Beach House.

5 Star Service. 3 Star Beach Location.

5 Star Service. 3 Star Beach Location.

The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort is distinguished by its exemplary customer service. You will be greeted with cooling refreshments upon check in, and every employee at the Marriott that you interact with is professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel is well maintained with an upscale feel and the rooms are very clean.

The Marriott s beach amenities are squeezed onto a very narrow stretch of 7-mile beach. The beach front is made up of two areas of lounge chairs on either side of the main stairs leading to the beach. Each has 2-3 rows of recliners stretching the length of the Marriott s grounds. All recliners are placed directly next to each other with no breathing room with the forward row literally reaching the water. There s little/no room to walk between the loungers of each row because they are placed so close together making finding/navigating to and from a lounger difficult. The water is also cluttered with an array of anchored water loungers etc. Unfortunately, all of this leads to a claustrophic feeling with guests packed in like sardines. Some may not mind, but If you walk along the 7-mile beach you will come across properties with much wider stretches of beach that I would stay at if I were to visit GC again.

Friendly staff and fun beach side bar were highlights. The rooms and pool were just standard hotel fare. Same with the food - not terrible but nothing special. The seafood paella and coconut shrimp were the best items I had. The pina colada was my drink of choice. Not made to order but delicious. All in all, it was a pleasant place where the water is the star no matter where you stay.

We did not stay here but visited. The lobby is beautiful as are the grounds. The staff was very friendly upon entering and offered drinks and helped us with directions. The artificial Coral was not my favorite. Hopefully one day it can be something cool but there is not much color and looks really weird with all the holes. I thought it was like the mines in finding Nemo haha

It was a beautiful hotel. However there is no beach anymore at all! They can only fit one or two rows of chairs! You can literally hear everyone's conversations all around you. The chairs are only 3-4 inches apart max. Which i dont find very relaxing. If you don't arrive by 8am chances are there will be no chair for you to sit in! That completely ruined the experience for me! The islands themselves are beautiful unfortunately this hotel is lacking to be called a "beach resort". Also everything is incredibly expensive. A cup of coffee 4.5 Cayman which is about 6 us dollars. The hotel was beautiful but I believe you find a much higher value in other islands!

Great place for family to stay and enjoy the Grand Cayman without needing to leave the grounds. There's access to the beach, a nice pool, events for families/kids, and good food/drink with great service. We've stayed here multiple times and will continue to do so!

Average quality rooms but in an awesome location, staff are really nice, beach is great, and it's not too crowded. The on site restaurant, Stingers, is very good. The hotel pricing is much higher than equal quality would be for most locations in the states, save maybe downtown San Francisco or Manhattan, but it's a steal for the area. Plus there's a free breakfast (a must when a U.S. dollar doesn't buy you much)! Would stay here again.

The condos are very nice , but the beach area is disappointing. A real plus is the shuttle service which will take you to the grocery, many restaurants, & shopping. The landscaping is beautiful.

Room was very comfortable and the staff was excellent! Pool seating is minimal (57 lounge chairs) Beach picture is misleading, there is no beach at high tide. If it s cloudy/rainy and the water is rough they don t have the facilities to accommodate/entertain all the guests.

This is one of the best Marriott's I've stayed at. Advice for my Platinum Elite friends. Do not expect an upgrade here unless you push for it. And you have to push pretty hard. They want to keep the ocean view rooms open for people that will pay for them. This is true even for the off-season. Also always take the buffett breakfast as the welcome gift because it is 45 to $50 a person US dollars. The other two options are not even comparable. Don't forget to take a banana to feed the fish! (Please don't use bread like other people do).

My family and I just returned from spending a week...

My family and I just returned from spending a week at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort. I think it's safe to say we were all blown away by our experience. We've all traveled around the world and continue to spend half of the year as worldly wanderers so we've experienced and seen it all. Where to begin...

The resort. This Marriott was excellent, the location on Seven Mile Beach was great, the beach itself was clean & beautiful, the size of the hotel was perfect for us. It was spacious yet inviting, easy access to the pool, beach and all the restaurants. The renovated lobby is very open and pleasing to spend time in socializing with other guests or friends. We were very comfortable with the diverse mix of demographics. The lobby, restaurants, and bathrooms on the main floor were clean and very well kept. The resort fee included Linus bikes, paddle boards, snorkel mask and fins, GoPros, towels and beach chairs, internet, local calls and more. We used all these items and had a wonderful week in spite of the less than optimal weather. Other amenities included morning yoga, beach bonfires, activities for children, movie nights, etc.

The service. I believe when an employer treats employees well, it will be reflected in the service, attitude and actions of its employees. The staff at this Marriott were exceptional. As someone mentioned below, the staff is so superior and we hope they are being compensated appropriately. They went out of their way to accommodate requests, remember our names, and very importantly, they were all so genuine and sincere. Daniela at the front desk was amazing (Marriott is so lucky to have her) and able to address every request. And a nod to Mika, Scott, Yesenia, Paulina, Patrick, Valeria & Adalberto. And the ladies providing daily housekeeping were friendly and accommodating and kept us in a supply of clean linens and other housekeeping items for our room with two double beds. The staff is very international and it was a lot of fun speaking with them only to find out we had traveled to many of their home towns.

The food. We ate at all 3 restaurants Vista Bar, Veranda and Anchor and Den.
- Vista Bar is the most casual of the 3 (like a beach cafe), the wraps, salads and sandwiches were hearty and very good!
- The Veranda is also on the beach next to Vista Bar. It's beautiful oceanside dining which we experienced on International Night. We had prime rib, roasted pork Cuban style, fresh salads made to order, red snapper, shrimp, ceviche, a dessert bar and much more. Although pricey, the food was amazing and the setting/ambience was beautiful.
- Anchor & Den is located inside as part of the large open lobby bar and restaurant. The food was outstanding! We ate at A&D a handful of nights and really enjoyed the Tuesday night Taqueria which included 5 different tacos, 4-5 sides and dessert - generous servings & delicious! We also loved Thursday, El Mercat Nit de Tapas. Authentic Spanish tapas and live Spanish guitar w/ two beautiful Flamenco dancers. (we recently returned from 2 months in Spain and the tapas were truly authentic, the standout being the pulpo!)

One evening we met Carlos, the F&B manager for all 3 restaurants. He took the time to meet his guests, introduce himself and make sure all needs and expectations had been met. It was clear he truly cares about his guests, his job and his staff.

Outside of the resort we were able to bike up 7 mile beach and visit other beaches, dive several days despite the weather, rent 3-wheel scooters, visit the botanical gardens and visit Rum Point & Starfish beach.

Grand Cayman is a beautiful island, it's clean and safe and we had really wonderful time. While Marriott is not the least expensive of locations/resorts the quality and service received make it well worth the price. We just hope rates don't increase b/c we'd like to return ;)
Thank you, Marriott for a wonderful experience!

"It was the BEST experience I have ever had staying at a hotel!" My husband and I stayed at the Grand Cayman Marriott on 7 mile beach for 5 nights and 6 days. Our room was very clean, beddings, mattress, carpet, bathroom... everything was immaculate. The room had a balcony and we can see the ocean. Our room was on the 5th floor and it was very quiet.
Grand Cayman Island is beautiful and magical. The locals are very friendly, drivers are courteous and surroundings are very clean. Water is crystal clear and the beaches are just amazing! All these wonderful traits were present at the hotel; their staff is wonderful! Bellmans - Howard, Nelson and Brando went out of their way to be kind and helpful. Howard even found and brought us mangoes just because I asked where I can get some. The food is a bit pricey... but normal for hotel.. BUT very good. Try the lobster quesadilla! it is the best! We are definitely going back! and will bring our family with us. Thank you everyone for making our stay a very lovely, enjoyable, relaxing and wonderful stay! Oh.. and of course there is the Gelato cart. YUM! there's more great things... but you just have to experience for yourself! oh... how can I forget... thank you to the restaurant manager and staff for making my hubby's birthday breakfast special. You guys rock!

Everyone was very nice and friendly. The food was fabulous. The rooms were pretty and clean. Special thank you to both Beth, in recreation, and Nelson! The beach was lovely. It is appreciated that you have good towels and chair covers, water, and aloe. All staff were accommodating and beach s'mores were delicious, and we especially loved the lady who did the s'mores because, when she found out we eat vegan marshmallows, she brought some out for us! Entertainment at night was great, too. Loved having the kayaks and paddle boards, floating docks, and wonderful reef out front for snorkeling! Thank you for a fabulous vacation!

THERE WAS NO BEACH!! You literally are on top of everyone. Now I know why the web site has no photos of the beach. They didn't warn us the beach was gone. Rooms were subpar for the money. So many better options down the beach. Better/cheaper food options outside the hotel.

My wife and I visited the Marriott resort on June ...

My wife and I visited the Marriott resort on June 10 for our 15 year wedding anniversary. This was our first visit to Grand Cayman and we did quite a bit of research on the area. First off the service, food and hospitality at the Marriott were top-notch! They provided us a free upgrade to a Gardenview room once we arrived which was a nice surprise. Hotel employees were continuously asking us how we were doing and if we needed anything. The food was excellent and the three restaurants they have offered different fare and specials each night. The Marriott provided a lot of amenities like snorkel and fins and paddle boards, which were part of the daily resort fee of $50. The only complaint we had was that every morning between 8 and 9 AM we were awoken by the housekeeping staff because our room was near the service elevator and they would come out banging their carts and talking very loudly up and down the halls. That was the only issue we had with our stay, which may not bother some people but we were there on a special vacation and were looking to sleep in and relax. We shared this with management upon our departure and received an apology and extra Marriot points for our next stay at the Marriot property which was nice.

This has become our #1 spot for a getaway.
The artificial reef just off the shore is amazing!! You don't need to go on a packed tourist snorkeling trip. It's literally in front of you.
Use the bikes. Alphonso will take care of you.

Went to Anchor & Den for a few cocktails today during happy hour.
The music was good.
We watched the waiter - Ravi, walk by our table several times while sitting at a table.
We sat at the dirty table for more than 15 minutes before we could get the attention of the hostess to ask for the table to be cleaned. Minutes later we then got the waiter's attention for menus.
Based on my knowledge of "Marriott standards", the service I received certainly doesn't reflect this.
Meanwhile we saw other customers of a lighter complexion receiving much friendlier service than we did...even another staff member saw and recognised how discriminative the service was.
It's very disappointing and truly unacceptable to experience this level of service at such a prestigious establishment.

We had a great stay. The lady who helped us at the front desk was exceptional and everyone was helpful. Included in the resort fee is use of snorkel gear, paddle boards and kayaks. There are artificial reefs that have an abundance of fish just off shore. Their restaurant was delicious and we enjoyed a full sunset during their happy hour at the bar - amazing.

We planned to stay at the Wyndham reef Resort on the east end. Upon arrival there we were extremely disappointed. The beach covered in mounds of seaweed and unusable. Anyway, we left there and headed for the Marriott after one night. The next 6 days were amazing at the Marriott. From the moment you arrive you realize how classy and friendly everyone is. The beach is amazing, the service is amazing, the grounds are flawlessly cared for. We will absolutely be back! Thank you Marriott!

Excellent hotel in a pristine location. Walk right out the back and you are on the gorgeous Seven Mile Beach. The hotel has live music at nights and there is literally no better place to relax, have a drink, and watch the spectacular Cayman sunset.

Had a great vacation at the Marriott in May! The service was fantastic everyone was very nice and helpful for anything you may need! The service at the beach was terrific!! We got an oceanfront room that was well worth the extra cost which really wasn't that much. We would highly recommend this hotel. The food was very good & it is a great location should you decide to go to one of the other great restaurants.

I'm writing to address the events around a fatal accident that occurred at your Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort property on 2/9.

That afternoon my husband and 8 year old son sat at the edge of the sand waiting for their appointment for a jet ski with the Red Sail company that Marriott contracts with (on the resort's property). Getting restless that the jet skis were not being returned my husband noticed an empty jet ski floating in the middle one the ocean. The machine sat their for some time before one of the workers headed out. At that time they went out and retrieved an unresponsive woman from the water who had a gash to the head and was clearly close to death after floating face down in the water. From there my husband and three other guests were left to care for the woman. Performing CPR, chest compressions, trying to locate a defibrillator and checking her pulse. This went on for a good 15-20 minutes while the staff of the Red Sail and Marriott looked on concerned but unable to step in and assist. After 15-20 minutes a security guard came over and took over CPR while the guest continued the the other procedures. This continued until the ambulance came and she was taken to the hospital and announced dead. I know accidents happen but here are the concerns I have about the events that happened before and after the accident:
1- All these events happened on the Marriott's resort property and there was NO ONE ABLE TO ASSIST. This is a resort that has hundreds of guests accessing water every day (pool/ocean), I would assume there would be more people well trained to assist in this type of situation. My husband is merely a good citizen but not a trained medical professional and put in a situation were he was responsible for another person's life. Part of the attraction of staying at a Marriott (over some no name resort) when you go out of the country is that there is assumed global standards that the company adheres to. There is so much more that could have been done for this woman if some of the staff was better trained to handle emergencies.
2- No one cared to learn more from my husband or other rescuers after. While several guests came and acknowledged his efforts throughout the stay, it seemed that one on else cared to get the series of events from him or anyone else. After watching my husband spend majority of the vacation traumatized from the events-as he continues to be- I went to the manager, Stephanie Castro, and relayed these events to her. I'm honestly not sure she understood my concerns as she kept trying to put the events back on the jet ski company's, The Red Sails, lap. The talk concluded with her telling me she'd bring it to her team and and follow up. That night I got a letter thanking me for the information and that was it.

I want to acknowledge that other than this the resort was fantastic, with friendly people and well appointed accommodations. I have a hard time even saying something bad about them but it I think it is important something be done to further safety efforts there. In addition, as a Gold Elite member I've never asked for special accommodations but had hotels proactively go out of their way to give me points for broken elevators and such....a really nice caring touch. After seeing what a huge event this was, the role my husband played and the way it impacted his vacation/life I really had a bad taste in my mouth that no gesture (big or small) was made by the hotel to acknowledge it.

When I wrote to headquarters I was once again directed back to Stephanie where I received the regurgitated I received while there. Really, that the heck Marriott, is there no one there that wishes to learn more about this fatal incident and how the resort could have played a larger role in saving a life. I'm sure they will write back to this post with some BS response but this is surely disappointing.

One of the best brunches on island! Bottomless champagne for about $65 is amazing. You will be pleased with the quality and variety of food.I had the hardest time booking a brunch table for 20 people though. Thursday night tapas is also a good mid week event to do.

The food and drinks are expensive but then again it s a hotel so you d have to expect that. Our kids are older now, but they always have daily activities for the kids.
