Great little resort. The staff is excellent and the food and facilities are great.
Great beach front amenities, good onsite restaurants, day trip concierge available in lobby - would visit again.
We've never experienced better service at another hotel in the world.
Worried about the beach erosion? (if it's still an issue when you read this review) just take a couple of beach towels and walk down the beach a bit and find yourself a secluded spot if you're looking for space and quiet. There are plenty of places along the beach if you want to grab a bite or drink.
Food on site is delicious and there's live music on the regular.
Probably one of the best Marriotts! Location and view are unbelievable. Our vacation with our kids and friends was the best!! Great accommodations, great food (Veranda is a must) and most importantly, not a moment of boredom for the adults or the kids. Highly Professional, accommodating and warm staff that treated us like family. The beach is amazing with soft golden sand and amazing turquoise waters that you can t get enough of snorkeling and paddle boarding! (Make sure you ask for the complimentary GoPro). Even in the busy season and highest tide there were beach chairs for a large group. Highly recommended!!!
Great service, friendly staff. Limited food options. Small, dated rooms. Easy beach access.
Had an amazing stay, the room was "ocean view" but not much of one, and the wifi was troublesome, but the view outdoors was amazing, the food at the bar outside was delicious and the rooms were nice and neat
Staff was inattentive, didn't want to help. Poor customer service skills
This hotel was fantastic. We will definitely consider returning in the future.
From the laidback atmosphere to the cleanliness of the facility. The front lobby and bar area is very welcoming. The seating outside is very peaceful and always seemed to have an amazing breeze even on the Hot days!
All of the staff seem to really love their jobs and they enjoy making you feel welcome and at home. The concierge ladies were amazing, especially Rhonda, she helped us schedule a few tours and gave great recommendations. The beach was amazing and there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas available. While we did not have our children on this trip we could tell that it was family friendly and kids were welcomed and activities were available for them.
There is a pool area but the water/waves on the beach is really calm and so the pool rarely was in use!
Now the prices are definitely higher then many are use to and a 15% gratuity is already added on to any order, however you absolutely get what you pay for. The portions are large and the drinks are top notch. No skimping on the alcohol . There wasn t a meal at the hotel that we didn t enjoy and we never walked away hungry.
I will add if you go deep sea fishing and you catch fish to eat ABSOLUTELY tell the hotel because the chef can prepare an amazing meal for you!!
We stayed at the Marriott for a week. To say we enjoyed our stay is an understatement.
First: Ashley and Cate in Guest Services were very helpful in handling some special requests I had prior to arrival.
Check-in was smooth. Jesus at the front desk handled a minor paperwork issue quickly and efficiently.
We had a courtyard view room. We actually enjoyed the courtyard view of tropical trees, plants, and the turtle pond. The bed was comfortable but a bit soft for us. We really like the bath amenities so much so that we bought full-size soap and shampoo to take home with us.
We didn t use the pool but we spent quite a bit of time on the beach chairs. The staff was quick to bring us towels and an umbrella, and the beach bar staff were attentive with food and drinks without being obtrusive.
There were lots of things to do. We did a mixology class (French 75 and a version of a moscow mule made with strawberry pepper vodka), a wine-tasting class, and made sugar facial scrub. We could have done a lot more but we had a wedding to attend and several dives scheduled.
Speaking of dives...Red Sail is on the property, and will pick you up if your dive departs from the Westin or elsewhere.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of items on the buffet. All fresh, all made in-house. Go early on the weekends as it gets very busy mid-morning.
Drinks at theAnchor and Den bar were very well done. Shout out to Vincent and Eder.
We loved our stay and look forward to returning.
Had a wonderful time. Stayed 2x will definitely return
Great place to stay. They New to offer change in US $ not just Cayman $.
Let me explain why 4 stars. Everything ywas great! No complaints. Just that it's not a 5 star resort. Compared to other properties in class it is 5 star. Service, staff, food, little extr made our stay extra special. Rooms are large actually big. Pool side every few hours there is an offering either paid or complimentary. Property is clean, at the southern end of 7 mile resort stretch. Overall we stayed 5 nights and 2 people that I'll never forget are Danica at the pool! And Katie the Front office Manager. They were awesome!
Very family friendly hotel for vacationing. The beach house vibe is great. Good value for price. Restaurnts onsite. About 15 mins f rtom airport. Staff service is one of the best I have seen so far.
Beautiful hotel, relaxing, good food. love The Cayman islands will always go back. Spend alot of time reading at the courtyard. Very Zen
Great rooms and wonderful staff. Plenty to do and close to other restaurants and shops.
At the Anchor & Den restaurant there was live entertainment and food for kids to adults. We watched flamenco dancing, which happens on Thursdays. Kid s chicken tenders were a little dry, though. The adult food presentation was really good. The volcano salmon roll was really cool because they lit it on fire before you ate it. The shrimp popcorn that came on top of the sushi was amazing. The server was very good.
I stayed here for a 3 day conference and had a very enjoyable experience. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the food is REALLY good, and the lobby/bar/restaurant area gets lively at night.
The room I stayed in was standard issue, but the bed and pillows were quite comfortable, which is really all that matters.
This location is closer to Georgetown if you want to go shopping, but still has the lovely soft sand beach that I love about Cayman. The pool is relatively small, but when you are in Cayman it's all about the beach.
Since my stay was comped by the conference, I can't comment what my stay would have cost, but doing a quick search against other properties for a comparative stretch indicates this property offers good value vs. other hotels on 7 Mile Beach. Would highly recommend!
Beautiful hotel on the water. Would definitely return!
Thursday tapas need changed up sick of same thing im local enjoyed it a couple of times needs a rotating menu and not so much attention from staff tad annoying other than that great decor...many months later new items were added great to see that tapas was updated...wonderful place for tapas and entertainment
My husband and I stayed for 10 days for our honeymoon and it was absolutely incredible! The food was delicious, the staff was so friendly and attentive and the amenities are amazing! The Go Pros are so nice to have, we got great pictures and really enjoyed having them available to us. They have water trampolines for you to lounge on keeping you cool in the heat. It s paradise! We can t wait to go back!
Nice atmosphere to chill and relax, food at Anchor and Den restaurant was great , will definitely make it one of my go to places!!!
Marriott was perhaps the best decision as far as doing hotels in GCayman Upon arrival we were nicely greeted with a welcoming juice... (which I highly recommend management they do a Farewell Juice too) and the Room was Wow!!! I enjoyed the restaurant, the events, the RedSailSports people, the breakfast... everything!!! Super clean, very organized, and I think I made the best friends there I really want everyone to stay here. It s amazing. This was my second trip to the Island and I really really enjoyed it because of this hotel.
Swanky spot. Great food variety for brunch. Food was pretty good. Service was efficient.
Returned two weeks ago, very disappointed. There is no beach to speak of due to beach erosion. Other resorts did mention this in their description, did not see any mention of it in the Marriott info. Only three rows of lounge chairs placed extremely close together making it nearly impossible to walk between the rows. Not to mention that the first row of chairs is covered in sea water. Had to be at the beach by 6:30 am to obtain a good spot. On one day of our vacation, we were asked to vacate the pool side lounge chairs by 5 pm so they could prepare for a wedding. There was no use of the pool after that time. We did not find the staff that helpful nor accommodating, having traveled to seven other Caribbean Islands and this being our fifth trip back to the Cayman Islands, I feel that I can speak from experience. Information obtained from the staff was either non existent or conflicting. No package of information was received at check in. There was a door man present only approximately 60 % of the time and then he was usually talking to another coworker. At time, staff personnel acted annoyed if you asked them for assistance. We did not find the service to be top rate as in other resorts.
However, there were positive aspects of our stay. Room ( junior suite) was comfortable and clean. Although the microwave that was advertised was not in the room. When we inquired about it, housekeeping acknowledged that they were aware that it was not in the room and did bring one. Enough of water rafts and trampolines were available and underwater cameras were provided. Upon arrival, we had an issue with our room rate but after a lengthy process it was resolved by the front desk manager Daniella, many thanks go out to her.
Probably will not stay at this location again.
Best snorkeling for easy fish viewing on the island .Excellent service. A minute walk from room to beach. Good rooms and comfortable beds.Staff strives to meet my needs. Darcia from the shop was very nice and helpful.
Adding a fifth star. The Sunday brunch at Anchor and Den was phenomenal.
Stopped by for lunch. Excessively priced food, just like their accomodations. Unfortunately this worldwide hotel brand simply looks at numbers. Everything is overpriced, but because it's all lumped together and it's considered easier to stay in one place and "do it all" they feel it's okay to jack up prices. Take your time to plan your adventure yourself. You'll save hundreds if not more!
Want cheap, tasty, and authentic? Try Calico Jack's. It's right on the water, the food is fresh, there is music, and you won't be paying a fortune for a name and an okay view.
The hotel s generally nice. There was annoying construction going on on our floor. The construction s every morning making sleeping late nearly impossible. There was no beach, the water came up to the "sea wall" almost all of the time.
The lobby was a confusing mess. There were 3 restaurants in the lobby with no walls, signs, or directions.
The Marriott Beach House is amazing! The hotel is on the beach, the staff is amazing from meeting Omar at the door to Wayne on the beach. Spent 5 amazing days there with my teenage children and am planning my next trip. Cayman Island is a Utopian place and staying at the Marriott just completes the feeling.
Friendly people, magnificent beach, excellent food choices! Camana Bay in walking distance.
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff were great and great setup
absolutely amazing visit. Staff were the best I have ever experienced. Genuinely kind, pleasant and attentive. This Marriott should be the gold standard for all Marriots. Beautiful hotel, great beach and people.
Nice but not as nice as Aruba Marriott. On the beach. Only two restaurants. Pricey. Location is close to other good restaurants,. Within walking distance of Georgetown. Beach staff are great as are bell men.
The best thing about this hotel was the outside restaurant. They gave me a hassle about checking in a day late. Even after I explained the airline double booked and that was the only reason for my delayed arrival. Upon check-in the computer system went down. I understand they can't control technology, however they said the wait would be 30 minutes max. That wait turned into a 4 hour wait and they never called the phone they gave me to confirm my room was ready. I went down to inquire how much longer for the wait and they said we are so sorry we forgot to call you. Thank goodness I was traveling with friends and had a room to relax in. The room was damp and had an odor. The doors to the patio were stained as if they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. My towels were dirty and the AC unit in my room could not be adjusted. The island was beautiful but I will never stay at the Marriott again.
Had been der for an event. Great ambience and lavish too
Nice place calm waters Beautiful Little Beach..Great Service
We were very disappointed that after requesting connecting rooms for out family (2 adults 3 kids) both with Marriott reservations and directly with the hotel, they did not honor the request. Furthermore, shortly after checking in, I noticed two connecting rooms being turned over across the hall. When I approached the front desk to request those rooms, they essentially said they were going to give that room to another family that will be checking in later in the day rather than moving us there. Warning to families needing more than one room - this is not the property for you.
The staff is amazing. Very friendly and courteous. If you are looking for a party, probably not your place. This hotel is family friendly with plenty of activities for all.
Such a great experience. Alston and the water sports staff were incredible!!! Very friendly welcome. They have free bikes and other resort fee inclusiveness like 1 free kayak, SUP board, snorkel mask and others. They have a mini coral reef that are great for seeing tropical fish. Super close to the beach. Lots of anchored floating objects where you can lay out or play with your children in a safe way.
The beach staff are great. Very personable and accommodating. Make sure you tip them a bit.
The front desk staff, Victor, Omar, Neal, and Dre just to name a few. They can help you get anything.
Get the breakfast buffet. For $2 more you can eat $100 worth of al la carte items found throughout the day.
Across the street is a very reasonable and authentic restaurant. A few doors down there is a gas station / convenience store that sells everything dirt cheap including wine, beer, sodas, snacks, hats, sunscreen, etc.
If you go up another block there is several little restaurants including Quiznos, Wendy s, Subway, etc.
The staff are very knowledgeable on all the activities on the island. However, do not book your excursions at the concierge desk. There are much cheaper outfitters that offer cheaper and more exclusive trips. They are small, intimate and know how to stay away from tourist traps. We went with George s Water Sports. Also, book directly online for the Dolphin Discovery or other excursions.
Book your reservations several days before you intend. Cruise ships come in and activities will be flooded.
The front desk are very helpful in assisting you to any questions or needs you have. They have taxis that are parked in their lot so it s very easy to get one. The taxis are reasonable about $15-$25 to go to anywhere in the island. There is no time fair only a destination prices.
There is a bus line across the street. It is only $2.50 to travel around the bus route. They will drop you off at your destination. The buses come almost every 2-4 minutes during peak times.
My overall experience at the Marriott was fabulous. The Cayman Islands is the most expensive place in the Caribbean. This review is only to benefit those who are family orientated or not on an all expense paid business trip
Great for families with kids. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Food, service, and family activities all done well.
We planned our trip to celebrate the New Years at the island. This hotel knows how to celebrate and keep the beat going all the time. We arrived on the 31st and the hotel had the beach party planned and a unique lantern ceremony. We didn t plan to eat at the hotel as there are multiple places around. The party at the beach ended at 1am with Great music. Never experienced to dance on the beach with waves hitting your feet.
The daily activities which included the daily theme on the dinners to activities for the kids kept us all curious and busy. The housekeeping was great, sometimes making two visits a day.
Loved the daily coco butter and aloe Vera supply
Couple of areas of improvement: as any beach resorts, beach/poolside spots are always premium and people keep a shoe and don t show up the whole day. Not fair to other paying guests. One hour rule is good if u can keep to it. The other thing were the beds. Please do not book two twins with 4 adults. It is not comfortable as all.
We are pleased with everything so far. Nice room, right off the pool deck and beach, restaurants are pricey but the food is good. Service is good all around.
Beautiful rooms, wonderful service, and amazing views!
Although the Marriott is a popular spot for tourists visiting Grand Cayman via cruise ship, the beach gets very crowded when more than 1-2 ships are in at a time. However, they now have a quick service coffee bar in the main lobby area, which also offers a variety of pastries and snacks to choose from if you're on-the-go.
Beautiful location with very attractive decor. We had stools at the bar and were quickly served by a friendly barman. We had glasses of prossecco which was nice and dry and well chilled. A touch pricey but a lovely experience.
Veranda - No longer the Same Restaurant (Whatever it's called now). Terrible, don't go there. Very expensive for no good reason, no oversight of the food. Dishes served lukewarm, steak tasted boiled, is was obviously was sous-vide and flipped in a pan for about 30 seconds no char at all. Same with the scallops, barley warm and tasted like they had been on the counter for 5 hours before being eventually served. It felt like there was no chef on duty overseeing any of this, just someone handing pre-made dishes is what it felt and tasted like. Absolutely disgusting, and ended up feeding more 90% of my steak to my dog.
This was my 8th time staying at this Marriott. Over the years management has changed but always remained consistent. I had the opportunity to first speak before my arrival with the new GM, John Hazard and meet a few times during my stay to thank him. He certainly runs a tight ship. The teams were extremely friendly and helpful. ...always going above and beyond to ensure every guest was totally satisfied. Little things such as Neil at the beach ALWAYS bringing us water and remembering we like lime in it! Or Prisca Berkhout, offering to get me a class a wine with two huge conferences taking over the pool area and apologize for the inconvenience.....Delci Mclean was delightful as our housekeeper for the week! Very attentive and sweet.
Go to The Marriott! :)
This place is fantastic. I love my room and the people at friendly. The beach is nice, but the pool area is on the small side. Nevertheless, it is still really nice. I will be back here.
The employees and servers are really nice. Very professional and provide great service. The hotel is totally overbooked. So many people there is no place to sit, and if you get a chair on the beach, someone is sitting so close you can t even get up from your beach chair. There is no beach!!!! When we arrived they led us to believe the lack of beach was due to a storm. We quickly figured out there really isn t a beach. The storm had nothing to do with it. The pictures of the resort show sand and a beach. The pictures are extremely inaccurate and misleading. The pool is tiny. Everything outside it too tight and crowded. The resort was definitely a disappointment!
Lobby renovation is really nice. Rooms are okay. Beach is beautiful
Wonderful staff and spacious rooms! Anchor and Den, the hotel restaurant, is excellent!
Five star service for a five star price and it has everything you'd expect from a place like this. But the room wasn't ready when we arrived which was a bit annoying after a long flight and many others were in the same situation.
This was the best experience for our 10yr anniversary! The staff were phenomenal and super friendly. The hotel was top notch and it catered to all types of amenities.
What a great place. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. My wife is handicapped and they made our vacation safe and enjoyable. Thank you, thank you!
Love the place with the Family very nice room ocean view HAD good holiday thanks Marriot love u thanks
Loved being here, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were a little small and dated but we only slept and showered there so it was no big deal. The beach was very close and had no problem getting a couple of chairs. Service all around was friendly but not fast like the states since they are on island time. The hotel is close to shopping and eating .
We have stayed here but they definitely have the best Sunday brunch on the islands, staff have always been professional and friendly.
Spectacular service, great location and wonderful scenes. Would highly recommend this place.
Great place with wonderful staff and amazing food. But the beach was quite small.
Best hotel! Even better than the Hilton in Dubai. Love the unified theme that the interior designer created with the whole 'Beach House' vibe. From the moment you enter the reception room, all the way through the tranquil Garden (complete with lots of turtles in the pond!) to the beach deck - everything was great! They have cabanas to use for free near the pool (great for our 2 year old) and the service was impeccable. The daily resort fee of $50 is well worth it if you take advantage of it - free kayak/paddle board rentals, snorkel equipment (fins, snorkel, mask), classy Linus bikes, and even free GoPro rentals! Plus, you can take the snorkel gear and GoPro off site for the day! My wife and I would grab the gear in the morning and head off snorkeling around the island. Also, the artificial reef at the resort is great for first time snorkelers (or kids) to snorkel around. Couldn't be happier with our week long stay at this resort! So relaxing...
Racist taxi drivers work here. The hotel doesn t care if they cuss your wife out on your honeymoon. He is here again the next day to honk and give us the middle finger as we drive in the Ritz parking lot. What a joke. This is the most low class Ritz in the world. I have been to many and this is the worst ever. Doesn t feel like a Ritz Carlton experience at all. Very low class and disappointing. Don t stay here!!! Customer service is terrible. A complete disgrace to the Ritz Carlton name. WORST VACATION EXPERIENCE EVER.!!! I was cussed out over parking in a taxi parking spot. I said I was sorry and the taxi driver still yelled F bombs at my wife. This is just unacceptable. I can t believe this is what we are dealing with.
we come here for the food. on Friday nights they have Argentinian steak night. The provelleta cheese appetizer is delicious!
We stayed for 7 nights in early January. We were disappointed. This was our second time staying at this hotel. There was literally No beach at all (weather washed it all out, which they don t tell you until you arrive), poor service and unsatisfactory room, forcing us to move from one room to another during our stay. Obstructed view of ocean room (an upgrade) was virtually no view at all and lots of noise at night from the outdoor bar. People at the front desk were unconcerned and appear to play dumb as a means of excusing poor service. What a shame. Our first stay was off season (August 2016) and everything was great then, including a much larger beach.
Great hotel, wonderful staff and excellent restaurants. However the beach is gone. I know it was storms that decimated the beach but this is a "beach resort." Something needs to be done. You can't have a beach resort without a beach.
Service from all staff- Evelyn in housekeeping, the wait staff, pool staff, front door gentleman... everyone was friendly, efficient and super helpful. Dining was great- we ate many of our meals here. Great choices at the buffet and dining on the veranda at the beach was joyful. Had a massage with Emily and wow she went above and beyond; she listened to exactly what my needs were and exceeded them. Thank you all! Great vacation!
Very disappointed. My wife and I have stayed at this location in April of 2018 for her baby moon and were so amazed with the customer service and loyalty to their members that we decided to come back. The difference than was we came during the off season or season when it was not as busy. This time around it was and it felt like they could care less that we were gold members . We checked in and the welcoming was nice and warm but than no option to upgrade even if I wanted to pay for it which should be completely complimentary being an Amex platinum and marriot card holder. The following day we paid to have our room up graded. The room was great and rest of the stay was uneventful but than we were denied a late check out and were offered a hospitality room since we have a late flight on our last day. As we checked out the hospitality room was not available. We were told if we wanted to we can keep our luggage in the office at the front desk and than change in the bathroom. We were so fed up with their broken promises we just left. It completly ruined our last day on the island as we planned to spend more time on the beach and than shower and get ready for our flight in the late afternoon. I am
aware that a high occupancy changes what a hotel can offer to their guest but the least they could have done was waive the upgrade fee since they obviously had a room available for me to upgrade but would have rather charged me and taken the money than buy my loyalty as a returning customer. At the end it really is pointless to try to accumulate points or be a rewards member. They can care less about that. If I had to return to the Cayman Islands.. which I will.. I will deff stay at seafire Kimpton or the Ritz C which both go above and beyond for their guest from my experience . Big mistake staying at the Marriot on Seven Mike Beach.
