Unauthorized withdraws on accounts attempted multiple times.
Unapologetic, no communication, piss poor overall experience.

Don't recommend. Criminal treatment vs. white-glove elsewhere. In my experience, they took more than a week to get back to me when I filed a claim and blamed others. They tried to get me to drive all over the GTA to a 'preferred bodyshop' and were threatening if I didn't. I needed to take pictures of my car seats to match perfectly or they wouldn't reimburse me. I was injured and they were upfront that they would not cover someone to shovel the snow for my pregnant wife if I could not.

I was involved in an accident in 2009. A third party sued me even though damages were only a crack in the plastic rear bumper (clearly a scam). Gore mutual denied to represent me and claimed "material misrepresentation". I was overwhelmed at the time and have been self representing for 10 years until I attended a pre-trial a few months ago. I decided to hire a lawyer to set aside my noting in default and prepare a defense statement. I am having to pay 7,500. I have suffered from depression and stress and have lost money un-rightfully over the years. Gore Mutual never detailed their basis for their material misrepresentation claim. I was 20 years old and dealing with a lot at the time to handle the situation and large amount of mail being sent. Do not ever do business with them. You will have so much trouble if involved in an accident. They do not help you when you need it.

I have been with Gore Mutual for several years for auto insurance. I recently had to contact them for a no fault accident claim. The overall process was relatively pain free. The entire claim was addressed within 3-4 weeks. The only thing I wished they could have done better would have been to increase the frequency of communication. All in all, it was a decent experience and a favourable outcome.

My company truck was stolen on September 7 2020 i was in another city when police notified me Gore Mutual has not yet provided me a rental vehicle as they say its under investigation .Thats a job for local law enforcement .My company has lost contract over this issue and its cost us financially as well. I have never made a claim in 35 years or had so much as a parking ticket .your insurance is only as good as the people who stand behind it .i layed my trust in my brockers hands for 35 years .Dont make the same mistake they made on my behalf .

CROOKS!!! Gore Mutual employees; Christine Acton, Sofia Bafia, Ashley Goodes and Mandy Ledain are a pack of thieves! After gouging me monthly, I phoned to cancel my policy. Both parties confirmed the cancelation of the policy effective immediately, via my signature but they still withdrew more than the usual mthly amount from my account, 2 weeks later. They refuse to refund me. They keep passing responsibility and transferring me between themselves. Terrible service, incompetent, staff. Negative star rating, if it were an option

In early 2015 I had a sewer backup followed a week later by a cracked pipe resulting in 36,000 gallons of water in my basement. I had been with Gore Mutual for A MONTH. The senior adjuster was very easy to deal with and very supportive. The settlement was very fair and paid immediately. It's been nearly two years and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

During Covid19 week of Apr 13 2020 i called Gore directly just to speak to customer service and ask couple basic generic questions about what Gore is doing to assist the public, healthcare providers and communities impacted by Covid19, as well will Gore lower their rates during Quarantine months due to cars not being driven frequently. They refused to speak to me, and continued to route me call my broker. I asked these aren't broker type of questions, i as existing GORE customer just have basic customer service questions, but they still refused to speak to me. Anyway, i wont be renewing my policy with these globalists.

A car came through a red light and hit me. A police officer was next to my truck when this happened and took care of my accident. The day of the accident they wanted everything removed from my vehicle so the appraiser could appraise it. They took my vehicle without advising me ,they were taking it and I adivised them they can't do that without my authorization. It took 3 weeks to find out where they took it. It's sitting in an auction yard with a stock number on it. I advised them this is theft. They have been extremely rude. Still trying to deal with this and want my vehicle back in my care until this is settled, which will probably be never. I have never been so victimized. The accident was nothing.

Terrible experience. They've determined I'm at fault for a car accident that happened because some moron tried to overtake me... in a SINGLE lane! I was turning left and they tried to overtake me on my left and somehow I'm at fault?! How does the other person get away with ignoring a turn signal, and overtaking me in a single lane ON THE SAME SIDE I WAS TURNING TO?! I understand the fault is with whoever turns left, but in this circumstance, the fault should be 50/50 if not 100% the other guy.

Not a great way to build client trust and long term working relationship. Do yourself a favor and find a different insurance company!

My car got burgled end of April while I was in Toronto visiting my boyfriend, during this pandemic I can't going back where i leave which is 3 hours drive.
They called me claimed that they got return mail and asking for my new address, I did not move or changing address. Called my roommate asked if she has returned mail, the answer is definitely NO.
Because of that, they changed my premium in the middle of the year 3 times more then before without noticing me, claiming that I changed the location of where I parked my car (so Am i not suppose driving my car? just parking at home for decoration?)
Couldn't cancel fast enough!!!!!

It is my understanding contrary to what Gore Mutual claims of its customers, that relatives in the household must be insured on second vehicle even if they have their own vehicles and insurance to which the customer must pay a premium on this.
As I understand, contrary to Gore Mutual "requirment(s)", in Ontario, automotive insurance follows the vehicle and not the driver. Do not let them convince you otherwise if someone may not even drive the vehicle at all or maybe a couple times a year (maybe) that you need to have them listed on a policy. I was informed people in the household must be listed and paid a premium for this. I understand this is not correct and should not have paid this premium. Further Gore Mutual increased my rates 15-20% for changing the area even though my address is not in that area (100km away). Be informed and if something doesnt seem right go do your own research. And remember there is always the insurance Ombudsman. Take care and safe travels.

Great Canadian Owned Company. Payment education and information is the responsibility of the broker not the insurance company. Many of these reviews are inappropriately aimed at Gore. They are a company that offer a great range of products with competitive prices and are a fantastic employer in the Tri-City area. Highly recommend.

This company sent me to collection agency over 66 bucks that was for cancelling a policy. After paying thousands of dollars over the years with no claim. Cheap people work here. I don t recommend doing business with this company.

Zero Stars. "Gore" will turn on you in case of an accident. I was involved in a hit and run collision which I proved to "Gore" by obtaining officer notes. They completely ignored me by not responding to me and would not take my calls after they determined I was 100 per cent at fault. I took every step necessary to get the adjuster to look at my claim. No luck. I jumped through hoops to get the decision over turned using the help of Police. It has been 1 year since my accident. "Gore" will not protect you. Stay away from this company at all cost. You are better off donating your money to charity because you sure will not get covered in case of an accident. Today, I have learned I am involved in litigation due to outstanding storage bill that "Gore" will not cover even though I was not at fault. I will be contacting local media in regards this matter to shine the light on "Gore's" practices.

To the paid actors that leave 5 star reviews. Stop it. Lies stink.

Very rushed at closing the file. After being hit head on by a drunk driver I was left with no car. They tried unsucesfully for 3 days to get me a car, I made a phone call and had a car 1 hour later. Nothing that was destroyed in my car was replaced after being told I just needed receipts after replacing the items. I was later told after the car was removed by them that pictures were needed. They closed my medical claim file after 9 days because I had not made as of yet while I was told by my doctor that it could take 6 to 8 weeks for my back and neck to feel back to normal... which it doesn't. They called me on a Wednesday afternoon to tell me how much I would be receiving to replace my car, and the rental had to be back Friday at noon. I was left to pay the rental fees until my new car was ready. Communication was poor, and the service was beyond disappointing. I was with them for 25 years with no claims... currently searching for another company with good reviews. More than willing to pay more for good service. Recommendations are welcome!

So thinking I must have misunderstood I decided to email and be sure I was as clear as possible...still treated very poorly. I always think that I am the only one something happens to. I had 2 homes and one car insurance policies with this insurer. I had a no fault accident and my body shop was told that my car was been written off. Needless to say no one at Gore Mutual contacted me. I was very shocked and soon became upset the claim was for $1000 for a Lexus 2008.

My broker intervened in my behalf and my car repair was approved and I am still driving my car. However upon renewal my 2020
rates were increased by 20% with the reason that Gore Mutual found a 2018 traffic ticket in 2020
and my rates would be increased by approximately $200.00.
I cancelled ALL my policies with them even though I have to pay slightly higher premiums with a new insurer. Sometimes we have to pay for our respect.
This is the worst experience I had with an insurance company. Glad to be done with this company.

I have been a client of Gore Mutual for @ 10 years. Have had 2 auto claims, and they were both handled quickly and professionally. Home premiums go up incrementally each year due to inflationary increases, which is the same with EVERY insurance company. I'm a broker, so I get that. I can shop around, but I don't because I am a fan. Keep up the great customer service!

Worst insurance company ever, had 2 auto claims with them customer service was terrible in both cases, I was faulted for damage to my car done by an object that fell off a truck, which hit multiple vehicles and was even started in police report that I was not at fault. Another time a guy crossed lane smashing my car and it was written off and they left me with no car b4 even getting the 3rd party insurance info and telling me I should get it for them. Offered peanuts for a settlement and told me it was a take it or leave it basically, no matter what they treat you like you are the at fault driver and will do nothing to assist you. Please stay away from this company

I was in an accident late October last year and' following that accident, I encountered a totally new experience in dealing with an insurance company.
They treated me better than the hospital, that I had to stay in for 8 weeks, following the accident.
My contact, Jennifer, was more than helpful and treated me like a long lost relative, rather than a client.
I will recommend this company and my broker in Milton to anyone, asking my advice.

If I could give a zero, I would. Nothing but issues with my husband and I. Two long term drivers (g & DZ class) with a clean driving record. Charged us four times the amount discussed. We had multiple previous issues and would call and could not get through with our broker for two weeks when the receptionist clearly told us she was in her office every time we called. Unfortunately, my husband is a truck driver and drives long hours and is hesitant to take a day off to switch but today was the last straw. Very very disappointed.

They are very professional and courteous. A little on the higher end of quotes/payments.

My daughter was in a single vehicle accident with my vehicle, she was covered with insurance to be driving. No injuries, however the vehicle was deemed a total loss. They sent out an appraiser, gave me a high value for the vehicle and issued the payment. The only issue I have is that I was owed an amount to replace a carseat that was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The claims rep that was handling my case had stopped answering my calls and emails, and so I got busy and didn't really think to call and inquire. Finally my insurance broker contacted them and found out the original claims rep no longer works there. I believe they should have some sort of system to notify customers/claimants if a claim rep is unavailable. Other than that, great service!
