A wonderful theater. They have some of the best and most professional performances in the city. They're always offering discounts making it affordable for anyone to come witness the greatness they display. The only drawback is that the side balcony seating doesn't offer the best views it could.

One of the best theaters in Chicago. The theaters don't have a bad seat, and the shows are always spectacular. Wherever you're in from out of town or just looking to change up your routine, you won't be disappointed here. And, they usually have plenty of affordable seats.

Very nice, small, quiet threater with great sight lines throughout. I saw the 3 1/2-4 hour play the "Ice Man Cometh" here with Brian Denehy a few years back. Great venue next to great restaurants, good parking and the best walking in Chicago. Thanks so very much for the great shows Pullman Porters, etc. over the years.

This is a great place to see a play in Chicago. It stages both world premiers and regional productions of recent plays from elsewhere. I saw Mary Zimmerman's beautiful production of the Jungle Book here. It is modern, clean and very comfortable. It's also connected to Petterino's which is a perfect stop for an after show drink. One block from the red line.

Goodman has a great rotation of plays, comfortable theaters, and decent prices and selection of seating options. There is parking across the street, and also ample ways to get there from public transportation. If you are looking for a bite to eat or a drink, Petterino's is connected next door, and most restaurants in the area cater to theater goers. They also have season tickets, and student tickets are sometimes available as well

Not a bad seat in the house. A wonderfully grand yet intimate space. Even in the furthest rows, you can still feel a connection to the actors on stage. Bars on both levels accept cash and credit, which is a plus as some other theaters are cash only. I have been visiting this theater every year since I was a child to see A Christmas Carol and it is fun to see what aspects they change (or don't change) year to year all while still keeping the show true, fresh, and enticing.

I thoroughly enjoyed Yasmina's Necklace. What a masterful piece of writing and the players reflected that. How timely!!. I have one caveat. I was distractd by Mother's garb; I thought it was reflective of India and its Muslims rather than Puerto Rico though I admit I never met a Muslim in Puerto Rico. ajg

Great theater! My friend and I saw the theater during the Chicago Open House tour. It was cool seeing the two theaters, the new learning center, and the members only lounce/bar. We absolutely loved the tour so much, we bought stage seating tickets to see A View from the Bridge. Wow! This show was fantastic!! We both were on the edge of our seats during the whole show ans we loved it. It definitely relates to today's society. I would love to see more shows here soon!

We saw Jasmina's Necklace and it was wonderful! We bought student tickets for ten dollars and even though they were balcony seats, we still had a great view. It is a smaller, more intimate setting so pretty much wherever you sit, you are closer to the stage than most theaters. The seats on the balcony were normal chairs with armrests, not auditorium seats. The more expensive seats down below were normal cushioned auditorium seats I think. We were in the Owen Theater of the Goodman Theater.

Some of the greatest theatre that Chicago has to offer! They always have new and entertaining shows that stretch and expand the boundaries of theatre as we know it!
Some of the shows I enjoyed seeing at the Goodman include "A Christmas Carol", "Teddy Ferrara", and " Black & Blue Boys".
If you are a student and looking to save a few bucks, check out their website the day you would like to purchase your tickets for and enter "10tix" starting at 10AM to recieve 10$ discounted tickets.

Tickets bought cheaply in the evening.

Tickets bought cheaply in the evening.

$ 20 for cards in the rank on the side. Really recommend. You have endless space.
Note: restricted field of vision;
but can in our opinion be ignored.

The idea of "very good"
The actors "very good"

That was worth it !!!!

We highly recommend getting involved in the ushering. You have to show up about 1 hour and 15 mins early, but after you do the scanning/handing out programs you get to sit in empty seats and watch the show for free! We have never been disappointed by the quality of the shows, each is thought provoking and moving in it's own way.

Recently visited here to see A Christmas Carol with my school. The show was absolutely wonderful, and everyone there had a great time. Although, I wouldn't call it a musical, it was a magical experience with some spooks thrown in! Everyone was warm and friendly, and didn't mind helping out. Would recommend the show, and the theatre! (Although the theatre itself was kind of small, the stage was HUGE)

A solid and professional theater company, as well as a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. No swells of crowds, prices for concessions are reasonable, and always clean and premium feeling. Not a bad seat in either theater in the building.

The day after sounds like a theatrical performance upon the marquis that illuminates the night sky making the deer in a dark forest see a guiding light. Last nights light however signified something else. I am speaking of the actual More

Went to the 2019 edition of The Chrustmas Carole. Its an annual family tradition for decades. This year was a bit more emotional than past years. Same lmk ead, but a number of cast changes, all good. If you need some Chistmas spirit, especially in this age of Trump, attend. Worth every minute!

Good sightlines to stage from all seats. Also good sound. Can be a little confusing to find your seat when sitting in the balcony, but ushers are helpful. Upscale restaurant is next door. Pretty good deli across the street. Close to public transit.

We always love seeing shows at the Goodman. Every seat in the Albert is great and the shows they choose often leave us talking long after we leave the theater. Be sure not to overlook the Owen! It's smaller and the shows are less well known but we've seen some of our favorite plays in this theater!

A lovely modern theatre with a good seat layout. I was at the back of the mezzanine and still had a fantastic unobstructed view. And unlike most theatres in the UK, there is a sensible number of cubicles in the ladies restrooms! Would have no problems como NG back here to see another play.

It's been 3 days since Christmas ended and I still feel the joy of such a marvelous day. A Christmas Carol at the Goodman Theatre was an extension to our holiday spirit. My boyfriend and I felt right at home in such a a cozy theatre. Dancing, singing, and telling a story brightened our spirits towards a happy new year. The acting was perfect and the displays were pure art. I dressed up just to feel that extra boost of excitement. You can definitely appreciate a fine play at the Goodman theatre!
