I was surprised that this place isn't as big as I'd imagined. Not really a bad seat in the house, the show was great, and I really enjoyed the discussion afterward led by one of the producers.

Even the back row at the Goodman is a great seat, as there are no bad seats in the house and they all have ample leg room. I recently saw Diane Lane in Sweet Bird of Youth, and really enjoyed the show. There are lots of great restaurants near by many of which have pre-theatre specials and it is very close to the CTA.

We saw "Graveyard Shift, a great artistic fictional depiction of the Sandra Bland story. Just the thought of the story itself made me cry but the play was fun and sad at the same time. I'd recommend this play to all.

This is the first theatre I have visited in the US. The interiors are beautiful and the service is great. I went here for the play " A Christmas carol". All in all, it was a great experience.

I was shocked at the amount of foul language used in this production, but it all worked out just fine. The tickets were reasonable, the seats were great and the company will hopefully be arouns for more plays and events.

We see "A Christmas Carol" just about every year here. Always an excellent experience. The light food and beverage selections are good. The shop has nice items. The ushers are polite and helpful. Everything about the Goodman is delightful.

I'm a three year subscriber to the goodman and will continue to be. Every production I've seen have been well done and a top notch. The theater is a gem downtown right off the redline with easily accessible bars and bathrooms. Not a bad sight line in the place, and the acoustics are great.

Used to be their plays were consistently of top quality. Not so much anymore, certainly more hit or miss. But no matter. What is far more offensive is the lack of ethics being used in ticket selling! Not that they are the first & only theater to use what is called "fluid" pricing, meaning when the demand is great & inventory low, they often increase existing pricing. Fine. Makes for odd conversation when with a group for a show & all of us paid wildly different prices sitting there together...not the wisest moves on their end & it's clear I don't completely agree with this but hey, their decision. All the same, what is NOT okay by anyone's standards is outright misrepresentation about WHAT pricing is insofar as fees. They will send emails with SPECIAL pricing that is in fact, higher than goldstar & hottix (even with fees) and also what's MUCH worse, is they will lie about fees being equal when with the "theater in chgo week from Feb 7-17" did NOT attach fees. So some criminal mastermind there thought...we'll let's just make the website NOT function so they have to call & pay another $5. Which they did to 8 of us. Add insult to injury, we were then told, Oh the WEBSITE was working with the codes, must've been YOUR computer glitch. Really, ALL of our separate computers. independent.laptop, iphones, desktop & over course of 3 days? HMMM.. don't think so. Noi we're not vapid enough to buy such illogical premise; is anyone? But truly icing on the cake IS the box office then lied saying NO PROBLEM, we'll just process over phone went ahead & ripped each of us off on price, adding in those svc fees that were NOT applicable if you used the "theater in chgo" promo code. Well you know GOODMAN, VERY bad decision making, that greed right there cost you a lot of women that regularly met up there. Often for shows not worth our time & effort, so there's still that.
We do not choose to give money to dishonest, disreputable (certainly utterly overpriced at regular pricing) theater & rather support those with integrity (say like STEPPENWOLF & most others. yeah, those SMALL storefront theaters doing exceptional work for peanuts that I hope BURY you soon).

One of the best theaters in the U.S. Amazing productions, comfortable seats, and friendly ushers. They also have sensory friendly, closed captioning, and ASL showings of most of their perofmrnaces.
