Lots of great productions here.

Lots of great productions here.
Located in the northern part of downtown its a great spot for tourists and locals.
They have a very nice space and have done many different plays here.
They continually bring in new shows and performances so keep checking back if you don't see something you like right away.

We went to see Blind Date, it was great.

My honey and I were praising / discussing it during intermission. She was saying how good the casting and the acting were, and came up with this:

The actress who was portraying Nancy Reagan was so good, she was as scary as the original was.

I can't top that.

The Goodman always impresses us and we have been lucky to go a few times in the past few months. What wonderful shows they've had with spectacular talent that draws out all sorts of emotions. Cannot recommend enough.

Goodman is a comfortable theater with two stages and all main floor seats and front balcony level seats have good views. The main stage tends to have very clever staging, the second stage is more modest.

EXCELLENT, I loved this version. Have been seeing A Christmas Carol more than 10 years. They make small changes yearly and this year was wonderful. A must as part of the holiday season

This place is such a unique theater in middle of packed theater district. We saw Christmas Carol here and the structure of the theater lead to the set. It almost seems like something out of Harry Potter. The staff was also very nice and helpful. We saw a performance that was captioned which was such a neat experience. When purchased tickets for this show customer service contacted me to make sure everything was taken care of. That was a nice treat as well. Oh also our ticket featured discounted parking too. Nice all around!

My wife and I have been to the Goodman Theatre both with each other and with groups of friends, every time has been a good experience. They have an organized process on getting everyone in and out and the seats are your standard theater seats so you know what to expect there if you've been to plays or comedies or musicals in downtown Chicago before.
I haven't had to talk to the employees at all but you can see that they are on hand to help and do a great job at keeping the place clean.

Goodman Theatre, Chicago s oldest and largest not-for-profit theater, has won international renown for the quality of productions, the depth and diversity of artistic leadership, and the excellence of its many community and educational programs. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Robert Falls and Executive Director Roche Schulfer, the Goodman is committed to producing both classic and contemporary works, giving full voice to a wide range of artists and visions. Central to that mission is the Goodman Artistic Collective, a diverse group of outstanding theater artists whose distinctive visions have given the Goodman an artistic identity of uncommon richness and variety

Extremely entertaining 2017 version of The Christmas Carol. The special effects for the ghosts were just right for youngsters but still entertaining for my 50+just age group. The box office staff was friendly and efficient, and the ushers we're ready to answer questions from young and old. The facility is well laid out and clean. Looking forward to seeing another non-holiday play in the near future.

The Goodman Theatre is always a good time. Though sometimes hard to stomach, Gloria was no exception. It truly has a bit of everything: witty office humor, thought provoking social commentary, and even... well I can't tell that part!

Ok

I have been attending plays as part of the Albert Series for the last 3 years. Overall the selections are entertaining, enjoyable, and well worth the price. It's a nice venue in the heart of downtown Chicago.

My only complaint is that they have been harassing me for the last month or so - calling at least once a day, sometimes 2-3 times. I assume because I have not renewed my subscription.

I went here to see Shakespeare's "A Winter Tale." The actors performed well. Some of the parts added by the director such as the profanity didn't work for me. The theater itself is cozy, clean and welcoming.

I had a great time with my family at the Goodman Theatre. The actors performed in front of children and adults with autism. I was impressed by their ability to entertain everyone in the crowd and I will definitely come back again.

Chicago has the finest serious theater in the world. New York has the blockbusters. Chicago maintains the art. The Goodman and Steppenwolf Theaters are at the very pinnacle of impactful drama. This visit to Goodman allowed me to see "Sweat," a dark and disturbing Pulitzer Prize winning play detailing the emotional decay caused by the systematic destruction of America's working class. Using Reading, Pennsylvania as the setting, the audience suffers along with the workers, as factories close, unions collapse, and multigenerational hope and dreams are eradicated. I saw this happen in Milwaukee, my home for forty years, as an entire facet of life collapsed around us. It may have been inevitable, but no plan was enacted to save the thousands of people, who lost their jobs and their way of life.

The acting at Goodman is always superb, but I must say the understudies, who filled in on this Thursday matinee, embarrassed themselves and the audience when they flubbed their lines. When I was a theater director, it would not be tolerated, and both of them would be back waiting on tables.
In spite of this unforgiving glitch, "Sweat" was a marvelous production.

The Owen theater with the Goodwin is a fantastic venue. I dont think any seat is more than 50 feet from the stage with the front be basically at the stage. The main floor seats are not permanent chairs; just stackable chairs that are placed in position. They don't recline but they are comfortable enough for a couple hours. Overall the theatre and lobby was very clean. It is a delightfully well maintained theatre. You will be pleased.
