Went to the Grotto with a group. Excellent food and service, no rushing, a thoroughly wonderful evening..!
Scammed. Booked a high end suite Friday night to check in Saturday morning for a weekend stay. Nugget then secretly cancelled my reservation, billed me full amouny, wouldn't let me check in or refund me anything. I even paid for a special VIP checkin that doesn't even exist (closed). Terrible service. Imagine if they treat high end customers this way how they treat everyone.
Best hotel I've ever been too! First time in Vegas as well... Pool was amaze balls... Buffet was fantastic.... Walk onto Fremont was effortless.... Only expention is I wasn't there longer. Love it
Went here for dinner at the restaurant named CJ's (claim Jupiter). The food was plentiful. Be sure you have a room with a fridge if you eat here! The waiter was super nice and the atmosphere was calm. After dinner we went and say by the Nugget's pool and watched the aquarium. Very nice restaurant, could be romantic if you're at the right table. The prices are decent. I had the chicken fried chicken and a side of broccoli. Idk why I ordered an extra side... I guess I felt wrong eating it without a green veggie. But overall,I was satisfied.
Very warming and comfortable stay. The pool area is very very nice and I highly recommend going there. The buffet they have here is decent honestly not one of the best at all in Vegas. I didn't have a chance to go to the spa but they have a while separate elevator for the buffet, spa, etc. The rooms are very nice and the staff is friendly as well. A good choice if you choose to bring family as the Casino isnt too smokey compared to most. Lots of elderly folks here. Rush tower especially is nice as no one is allowed up there without a key card. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a high end cheapep stay in Vegas!
Took a picture with a million dollars lol I would recommended stopping by just for that!
I Loves to stay there, I'm been going 11yrs and that's where I Loves to be.The Rooms are perfect. And the Food is good.
It's a expensive place for having poor amenities. The strip has better pools and cabanas for less than this place. Gambling wise, it is one of the worst on Fremont. The card games suck and they have sucker bets. The restaurants are also poor compared to the rest of Fremont. The only thing they have going for them is that the place looks nice. Oh and they also have some of the worst suites compared to the rest of Fremont.
Nice place but really tight to walk around. Older casino but well kept. Nice pool.
This company needs to give their teamsters a contract I will not be giving them my business anytime until they do
Plenty to see and do. Only problem was the concerts next door. They have my parents ear plugs.
Hands down the best hotel in Vegas! Located in the heart of downtown on Fremont Street, you'll be front and center for the nightly festivities! Stayed here for our first trip out to get married and won't stay at any other hotel here! Free shuttle service to the new strip hourly! And the buffet was incredible! The pool! The pool! It had a tube slide that sends you through a tank full of sharks and rays! Lounge chairs at Waters edge too! Chuck at the car rental desk was superb!!! Worked his magic and got us a great car for driving out to the desert!
We like the Golden Nugget because it's easy parking easy to get in easy to get out, not too far from the strip friendly people, the pool is fantastic with the tank shark, and other fish swimming, waterfall in the pool is great, easy to get into hotel and get out, recommend for families
Relaxed environment reasonably priced drinks. Nice pool
Been going here for years and always have fun. Low limit tables and good dealers.
We love this place. Great staff and accommodations but the best are the other folks who stay there. Smiles and good times everywhere.
We got a room so we could use the pool! It was great for what we needed it for. The POOL WAS AMAZING!! my 3 year old loved it. We would totally do it again!
The good ole days. Great place to visit... Better gambling odds too
If you enjoy a good night sleep, then I wouldn't suggest the Gold Nugget. There was a giant rave going on outside my window until 2:00 am. It was insanely loud, it made my walls and window shake. When we complained, because this is a work trip and not just for pleasure we got offered ear plugs and nothing more. Thanks.
The complimentary room was stunning, I've enjoyed my stay on both visits. Love Fremont
The Golden Nugget, like so many Fremont Street casinos, clings onto the last memories of old Wild West style Vegas. At best, this means a historic look at old slot machines and vintage style lights outside. At worst, this means the casino is dirty, dingy, and outdated.
We always stay at the Golden Nugget. It has a down home feel wonderful staff, clean. If you need a break from the casino, just walk out the door to Fremont. It is busy, and fun. Will not stay any place but here.
The pool has a shark tank in the middle. It's a nice hotel, especially for downtown. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
Loved staying at this hotel. The Tower room was really nice very updated with big TV and DVR. It did not have a refrigerator that cost extra. The bathroom was Exquisite with soaking tub and rain shower head. The bed was okay but sheets were really nice as well as the pillows. The buffet was pretty okay and reasonably priced for during the week. Loved Fremont Street will definitely stay at the Golden Nugget again.
I've really enjoyed my stay so far here. The location is great with Fremont just a block away. The buffet was really good. The rooms that have been renovated are very nice.
Down by the done! Exciting down there. Love the light show,!
Most of the highlights for this hotel were closed or very limited on number of guests . The hot tub, fitness center, Starbucks and few of the restaurants were closed and there was no room service / someone to come clean bring towels unless you were out of room. I had to be on a wait list for pool access and even then they said it would be at least an hour plus wait even for it just being myself entering. In your room there will not be a fridge to keep your food not a coffee maker but they will give bottles of water.
Upon checking out I had went to the pool since there was no crowd and opened compared to day before due to it being chilly. The staff said I could not because I was no longer a guest at the hotel. In a matter of a few minutes I was considered no longer a guest. Thought this was rude and disappointing they would consider me no longer a guest and at least let me lay out by the pool when it was a matter of less then an hour. For this reason, my room smelt heavily of cigarette smoke, and overall didn t feel very welcoming.
I understand we are still covid regulations however as a hotel it should be listed on site what the limitations are and what s no longer available for public use. Not us coming in excited expecting one outcome and upon check in finding out another.
A classic in downtown Vegas that you just have to visit! Good gambling floor and plenty of good restaurants.
Didn't actually stay there but went to A concert there. The theater was a smaller, more intimate place which I really enjoyed
Wow it is beautiful.my husband and I stayed their in the 90.
Great room amenities, would be nice if room included fridge and microwave. Otherwise ample for our needs.
The Golden Nugget is the one strip style casino on Fremont Street. They have a decent Poker Room. I've never been to their pool but it looks very cool. Biggest problem with the Golden Nugget is mobility. It is impossible to move through the casino on a busy night.
I had entered the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, it had looked wonderful. I had not seen such a beautiful hotel. I had checked in and on my way to my room there were bars restaurants and even plenty of stores. My room was beautiful and felt nice. There was a casino that was huge and I loved it.
I loved the hotel. The room was nice, the pool was great, and the atmosphere/decor was good. But the hotel was waaayy too crowded for my liking. And, the entrances where airport shuttles, Uber, and Lift drop you off are on the complete opposite side of the hotel from the check in desk, past 3 restaurants, a series of shops, and the pool. Completely illogical, and the overcrowding of people makes it nearly impossible to get there with luggage. That is a mistake or convenience, compared to the bargain of a price and the relaxing comfort I enjoyed here. The bed was comfy, but the tv only had like 8 stations, and all were news or stocks, etc. The pool closes early, so if you aren't if to the night life on Freemont Street, you'll be bored to pieces. Room service was crazy expensive, more than any of the other hotels in stayed at in Vegas. All in all, I would probably stay here again, since I absolutely love Freemont Street, and the pool was amazing.
It is a nice place. I only went to the casinos but i stayed in luxor. It is a really cool place to visit i recommend it
Good hotel casino, rooms were clean and a good size...buffet was a little overpriced for what you got
Visited and stayed in 3 casinos this trip. We had almost given up on any charm or class. Golden Nugget is far superior! Clean. Classy. Customer focused. It is the ONLY casino that will get my future business.
A Great Place To Gamble and stay in their hotel. Priced Right and Worth The Time. Chef Shayne Michael's
So Disappointed!!! Booked at this casino because I wanted to take the slide through the shark tank. Couldn't even get in!!! Filled with sunburned lobsters who wouldn't leave! I hope they all blister!!! I won't be back!!!
It was good. We had a nice room, that was pretty clean. We got a great deal on Expedia, which is why we chose it. The restaurants are good (Claim Jumper is my favorite). I used the spa and fitness center, although small, it was really nice, and well maintained.
However housekeeping service was slow. It took them FOREVER to make it to my room, during the times I needed service. For the most part they are thorough cleaners, but I would kill time waiting for them, and hours later my room still wasn't done. It was annoying, because I wanted to get back and rest without interruption before going to the next activity.
Also, the elevators sounded like they could quit at anytime when you're on one of them. I stayed a week, and later on in the week, the elevators did break down, all except for one! The situation lasted for hours, and during a time when a music festival was starting! It was A LOT of people waiting in line to get to their room!
ALSO because of the music festival, the bass from a DJ playing in the nearby outdoor square, caused our room to vibrate, and the music WAS SO LOUD! Had we know we would have picked a different hotel to be honest. We couldn't sleep. We had to be up early the next morning too! I finally got up and went outside. I figured "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em"! The front desk said they had a lot of complaints, from other customers, apologized, and offered ear plugs. We did want to watch TV, so that wasn't going to work! I don't even know how my husband fell asleep, but he did. The music didn't end until about 1 am!
All-in-all, I had a good stay with a few annoyances.
Definitely a four star hotel. Even though I had a blast in Vegas this placw could have done better for the price we paid.
Magnolia restaurant is popular. Go between meal times when the seniors show up ! Excellent prime rib meal. Never tried other entrees. Was going to another time, but hostess kept me waiting at the entry while she was at the till with the cashier ! Not impressed. Left after about 5 minutes.
Stayed here twice definitely one of the best hotels in vegas
Great Casino located on Freemont (The old strip). Very nice and clean throughout, played for a couple hours. Smoking is allowed in the casino.
Classy hotel on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. Play, stay and dine. Everything is top-notch here. Great Happy Hour at Red Sushi from 4-6 pm with drinks, appetizers and sushi rolls starting at $4.
As far as gaming goes, the Golden Nugget has the best poker room downtown and great Grand Poker Series to play when you get knocked out of the WSOP during the summer.
Nice hotel. Friendly staff. I enjoyed the environment and games available to play. My only complaint is at night. A lot of sketchy people on Fremont Street. But there was sufficient security inside the casino since I didn't see these people inside. I did see them inside the other casinos.
Where do I start? I waited till today 9/30/18 to see if I would be calmer. Now I'm just more insulted I have not gotten any sort of reply. I stayed 9/19 till 9/25/18 with a large group of friends and family . We arrived at 1030am and didn't get into our rooms until after 630pm. You would think that was the worst part of the trip. Nope We were Robbed from a locked secure conference room that was said to have cameras. And I still have not gotten a follow up.at first I was treated with concern but was handed off to a security guard rep and treated like I was making the whole thing up.we were lied to and mislead from check in. We were ordered a $50 voucher for being inconvenienced towards a meal at the hotel. There were 3 of us in the room. Oh and somehow my name was removed from my reservation twice so I had difficulties getting a replacement key when my roommates were out of the hotel. They had to come back from an excursion because they wouldn't verify over the phone even though I had all of their information. The Carson does not have queen size bed although that is what reservations tell you. We requested adjoining rooms which was on the original reservation that was a disaster. You would hold some one with common sense after an hr or so would put us into rooms on the same floor close together.. nope... it wasn't until we got irate that anyone bothered to made a manager aware of the problem. Housekeeping appeared understaffed and overwhelmed and overworked. We could leave our room early in am and come back after 4pm beds not made no fresh towels so we made our own beds and called for towels. We were promised adjustments to our stay more dining credit and a refund of the first day reservation to all the rooms effected...we got nothing. My group sent and email I filed out an incident report and still no contact. I call the 888 number on the card that was given to me and no one seems to have a clue what I'm talking about. Stay at your own risk. Cheaper is not always better find a deal on the strip. Once Golden Nugget gets your money they don't seem to give a damn what happens to you.
The front desk and housekeeping staff were so helpful and efficient. We got a room 30 minutes early and all of our needs were met.
I have stayed at the golden nugget a few times now. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff is helpful. I really find myself enjoying staying downtown vs the strip as well (it is just a little too much for me) and Fremont street is still plenty of fun
Our go to place in Las Vegas! Love the spa tower rooms. Our host treats us like royalty. Couldn't ask for a better time! Vic and Anthony's is perfection. Not to mention Im pretty lucky there!!
The decor, staff, and food options make it one of my favorite casionos to spend time in.
Here for our complementary rooms for 5 days 4 nights + other complementary thank you GN you rock ! Loving my Rush Tower so far.... quite and huge !!
Checked it out while on Fremont street, was cool. Could use an update
Good craps table. Very nice girls dealing. Kinda pretty and very distracting. But in a good way
More laid back than the strip, but still a lot of fun!
Always a great place to gamble. The atmosphere is awsome and slot machines seem to be looser than other casinos.
I stayed there while attending a poker tournament obviously it's in the old part of Vegas so certain parts could use a little refreshing the lobby has been redone, and the pool has been redone even though the lounge chairs are stuck right next to each other you can barely move, the rooms have been refreshed even although if you stay on the side of the hotel that faces Fremont Street you will have a hard time going to sleep because of the music coming from there until 11 or 12:00 at night but service is great people were great and it was a good value,
The main bathrooms in the casino and next to the poker room were a little smelly I was surprised at that
I love golden nugget hotel I d visit over and over again my stay was great I felt at home bed very comfy food was AMAZING the hotel look like a billion dollars everything looked so rich! I can t wait to visit Vegas again.
I really enjoyed my short stay at the Golden Nugget. I stayed in the Rush Tower, room 10206. The room was very clean and extremely comfortable. Unfortunately I was only able to spend a limited amount of time (two hours or so) in the casino but I was very impressed by everybody's professionalism and hospitality. Overall my stay was great and I look forward to going back.
The rooms are inexpensive and the accommodations meet my expectations. The casino is fun, has all the games I expected and at fair minimums. There's even a poker room.
It's a little dated but I guess that's all part of the fun when walking around down on Fremont street. We come here to walk around and check out the performers. Every once in awhile we wander into the casino. The drinks are cheap but they are small. I personally dont gamble so I can't comment about the tables or machines in this casino.
I was visiting a friend at the hotel. The rooms and decor are very nice. Fresh fruit is put out in the hallway for guests.
Superb location. Has one of the best swimming pools in vegas. Right on the downtown with best crowd and shows almost everyday.
Room was nice but the air conditioning was shut off whenever our room was cleaned and then it was so humid that the sheets and towels were damp when we came back. Very poor service in one of the restaurants. Treated like an imposition instead of a customer. Poor drink service in the casino. Pool is very nice if you want to sit on top of each other. We have always stayed on the strip at one of the MGM hotels and I was looking forward to the change. The concert on Freemont was definitely a game changer though. Excellent idea for the summer.
I stay here twice a year. Very nice rooms, perfectly centered location downtown on Freemont st. Very good food / restaurant selection for one place. Best pool side area around. Nice staff. Casino slots pay out better than the strip. What more could you ask for?
Great Hotel with lots of great place's to eat and the rooms are very nice.
It was ok pack with people. Didnt win but that's the way it goes sometimes.
My husband and I recently spent a few nights here and we loved everything about it. Highly recommend!
I was not impressed with this hotel. When we arrived the computers were having issues and had to wait in line for an hour at 11:30pm just to check in-I'm aware that things cannot be controlled, but they had been having trouble all day. The entire hotel smelled like smoke. Our room was decent and comfortable, but the bathtub drained slowly, so when you took a shower you were standing in a puddle of water. Also, they had elevator trouble and had to wait over 10 min and then took the stairs. The restaurants were ok, but pricey. The location of this hotel however was perfect! Close to everything and right on Fremont Street. Probably would not stay here again.
Love this hotel. Our last trip to Vegas a few weeks ago, we unfortunately stayed on the strip. Will not do that again. Love the pool area here. Slots are good and the suites here are beautiful.
Had a wheelchair group there this weekend - they were really helpful from the casino to hotel operations, kuddos to the hotel
I just love this hotel/resort I ve been coming to Vegas for years stayed in the new town and always found myself downtown so last year and again this year I decided to stay downtown loved it we had a very nice room and there s a great lil steak place rite in golden Nugget, delicious Sunday brunch sundays with make your own Bloody Mary it was fun fabulous bread pudding yummy the shark tank is insane and the slide was cool hot tub to thank you again this year I stayed with my 2 best friends
I just returned home today and I m looking forward to visiting again soon
Beautiful hotel. And WOW! That pool is AMAZING. the buffet was huge and soo delicious. Prime rib for breakfast. Yes please! We will definitely stay again.
It was fun, great to see old Vegas. It was great to go in their and see the actual gold nugget in the display case.
The place is clean and the employees are nice.
We played the tables for hours, so we didn't get to explore. The waitresses were coming around often, keeping us well hydrated!
We've been there twice in the last few months and enjoyed ourselves both times.
We'll be back soon!
Beautiful hotel. Great food. Great staff. Nice rooms but carson tower rooms and halls starting to need some remodelling/maitenance. Freemont street has become nothing but beggers and freak shows. Golden Nugget has always been our preference but unfortunately because of how bad freemont street has become we will make our next stay on the strip.
Super clean rooms.
Huge hotel with alot of different activities.
Pool is fantastic.
It's on Downtown Vegas and a 20min drive to the Vegas Strip.
Amazing stay
