Best hotel downtown and restaurants. Vic n Anthony's steakhouse the best
I normally have an awesome experience however this year was different still a good hotel
Bait and switch on hotel pricing! Charged me $50 more than the advertised rate. Poor custom service and rude at the pool. The bathroom smelled like sewer when you turned on the water. The air conditioning is extremely noisy when running. And stay away from in-resort Claim Jumper rude, poor service, gross and undercooked food. This hotel is aging and it shows.
Nice room, asked for something with a view, the check in clerk put us on the top floor with a view of the strip. The buffet was pretty good, could have used a little more variety but not bad. We were only there for one night so we didn't get to do a whole lot. The pool looked nice and fun. The proximity to the Fremont Street Experience was great. We got to get out and experience some of Vegas on a limited schedule.
Great buffet...23.99 sun thru wed....25.99 other days and up...but there is cheaper food near by.
So this was my first time staying downtown after always staying on the strip, and I had a great time. Had a room in the Gold Tower, it was very clean, quiet and was only a short walk from the elevator. The casino also wasn't so big you'd find yourself meandering trying to get outside. The pool was also great with the water slide. Plenty of food options too, the buffet is good and has views of the pool area. If you want to get to the strip, the express bus is just a short walk from the exit. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.
I was only there for a brief time to gamble. It seemed nice, clean. Employees I encountered were not overly friendly.
We had a BLAST!
The Fremont Street Experience never gets old.
One of my favorite casinos. Like my rooms, services tablets in Vegas and Louisiana. Love it.
Very nice downtown casino. Friendly dealers, unlike a lot of places. Fun atmosphere .
Lillies Asian Restaurant there has the most wonderful Sweet+Sour Shrimp !!
The Golden Nugget is a very beautiful hotel, but it is too packed for me. We had a meeting down at the bar with famous musicians and we couldn't walk because the hallways are too small for so many people. Regardless of the crowd, my experience was fantastic! I had a blast.
Previous experiences were better. Customer service want as much of a priority as previously
Awesome place. Big rooms! Location is great to run out and purchase supplies for longer stays. Mini Mart inside is pricey so but, Walgreens is a short walk away.
Classic hotel and casino right in the middle of the Fremont Street experience. Can't go wrong here. Nice pool and a huge fish tank with a water slide that cuts right through it!! Best casino downtown!!
Too smokey. They need to update the ventilation. Food in restaurants is great, room clean.
Ate at the Italian restaurant there, man it was good
The not so talked about gem of Las vegas.
Everything I have experience at the Golden Nugget has been top-notch, the best service from the quality of food to lay out and ease of getting from Fremont Street to the valet area.
This by far as one of the best pools I've ever seen with one of the coolest water slides multiple levels you can't go wrong at the Golden Nugget.
A great Buffett and a real lively active casino at pretty much all hours of the day.
The Golden Nugget is the nicest hotel on Fremont. I plan on staying there with my wife the next trio we take to Vegas. It has everything we look for in a hotel.
The restaurant was beautiful with a salt water fish tank that could be enjoyed no matter where you were seated. The service was top notch without being overly pushy with just the right amount of care. The food was picturesque but more importantly, it was flavorful and fresh. We will absolutely return! Well done!!
Beautiful hotel! And the pool is amazing! Only problem was the cleanliness of our room. The bathroom floor made our feet black. And a pill waa found under our desk.
Very helpful and friendly service at the concert. The venue seats about 600 with comfortable seats and wide rows
Fun place for adults, for like half a day.but the food & staff was good.
Brook @ the chocolate factory is a racist and very rude. Had to report her to security! She then closed down and his in the back! Another very sad day in white history (Martin Laurence)
Not really my cup of tea. I did enjoy my midnight snack. After several trips to New Orleans I kinda missed seeing what the thrill was.
So far...this is my favorite spot in vegas. Good slots, great rooms. Best blackjack. Need I say more
Always good times! good food! Good time at the pool!
Clean and recently updated rooms. Service is great. Eat at the Grotto! Best Italian food around. Pools and shark tank are amazing!
Stopped for a quick drink at the bar, after placing a bet at sportsbook.
Great place to stay in downtown. Only thing that prevented the 5 star was lack of chairs at the pool and not being able to get a spare cot in the room.
Great place, a lot of people. Get to the pool early if you want a chair. Or rent a cabana.
Great facilities look to reserve rooms next stay in vegas more restaurants bigger casino more bars enjoyed stopping there.
Not the greatest for a few critical reasons.
The location is great for the Life is Beautiful festival which is walking distance from the hotel. We originally booked through Expedia and wound up with a king size room, non-smoking. We needed 2 beds. My friend called the Golden Nugget directly to make the change before we arrived and even making that change was a challenge. She was on hold for well over 30 minutes the first time and when transferred to the department to assist with that the call was disconnected. Then she wound up speaking to someone after calling back that said they could not accommodate the request for a room change. She called back again and finally reached someone who was willing to accommodate.
When we arrived, the front desk had our reservation down as 2 beds. Great! Just what we needed. When we got up to our room, it was dirty. Toilet paper in the unflushed toilet, empty coffee cups on the vanity, beer bottle in the trash can, and beds that had been sat on with strands of long blonde hair on them. My biggest concern was our safety and if someone had access to our room. She called the front desk to explain our room condition and they said someone would be by to fix it and that no one else had access to our room so our safety was not a concern. About 10 minutes later the housekeeping manager arrived. We explained our dirty room findings and that we expected and needed a non-smoking room. He was surprised that we were put in a smoking room since we had originally requested one when we booked. We told him that no one at the front desk asked our preferrence (nor told us what type of room we would be getting) but our original reservation was for non-smoking. He said he would have the bellman go up to our room and move us to a double non-smoking room. Over half an hour passed and no one arrived. My friend called the front desk and they knew nothing of our interaction with the housekeeping manager. She had to explain the situation yet again and was told by the front desk that there are no guarantees on preference for smoking versus non-smoking rooms. My friend asked 'what if you have asthma?' to which they replied there were no guarantees and that they were sold out and that there were no other rooms to be moved to.
It was frustrating that the housekeeping manager offered us something that he could not deliver and that the front desk and reservation staff were rude on multiple interactions (before and during our stay). What a way to keep your customers happy! We wound up buying scented candles and had them burning all weekend long in attempt to cover the smoke stench and I had a can of Lysol to disinfect our dirty-on-arrival room that we were never offered to have cleaned after our complaints of dirtiness. We did get our 'upgrade' fee refunded for switching from a king to double room. Based on this stay, I would not stay here again. Poor customer service, offering what you can't deliver, and a dirty stinky room are not what I'm after when I come to Vegas. Stay away from GN!
We really enjoyed this place. People were smoking but you couldn't tell it as much as you can at the Orleans.
This is the place that keeps us coming back to Vegas. They clearly have the best pool in the area and the rooms are all so nice and clean, recently updated. We always get the claim jumper chocolate cake from room service on our last night in town and it always arrives quickly and with super friendly service. The rooms are so nice and big and always clean when we arrive. This has become our favorite place to stay in Vegas. So much fun to be had nearby and somewhere nice to crash at night. The staff is always friendly in all the restaurants and shops. Thanks to everyone at the Golden Nugget for always making our stay special!
no hi speed internet, no power outlet by bed forget cpap, no air dryer, no refregirator, you have all this on 78$ quality inn
The cost for table games is wonderful. You won't get broke fast.
Downtown is a great place to party, especially on first Friday. Pool at Golden Nugget is awesome.
Nice mix of live and video gaming. One of the premier casinos down on Fremont St, I particularly enjoyed the live music in the center bar room. If you still park and eat at their restaurant or gamble, they will validate your parking up to 3 hours.
Beautiful rooms! Fantastic view! But we asked for a coffee pot and extra blankets and never got them
We normally stay on the strip, but decided to take advantage of the lower hotel rates and were pleasantly surprised! We were able to upgrade to a mini suite for a mere $20 a night and the staff (Jessica) was very helpful in our check in / upgrade process. Definitely will consider coming back here next time we're in Vegas!
We didn't spend much time at the Golden Nugget, we we're simply visiting Fremont Street for a walk through the locations available. The Golden Nugget was a pretty cool original casino, however it was still a typical casino, and was almost the same as anything we saw on the strip. It was still cool to to see and walk through. I just wish more places downtown had the OG quarter slot machines like The D Hotel.
Nice enough place but WAY overbooked for pandemic precautions. Long lines to get on elevators [limit 4 passengers to a car, only 4 of 5 elevators in service], check-in staffed by only 2 folks when there are too many folks in line to expect any kind of safety, over an hour wait to get into the pool area. Just ridiculous. Don't try to make up your pandemic losses the first week. You'll upset or infect a LOT of people.
Nice place, nice pool nice people definitely will stay here again
Check in took 45 minutes. 2 people were at the counter doing them. Not cool at all. Looks mismanaged as some at the counter are just standing around.
Had a good time at the steak house. Food was very good. For the price, I definitely prefer Cut, but very good.
Went to Golden Nugget for a birthday dinner at Vic and Anthony's. It was a surprise birthday dinner and it went all to plan with the help of the employees. Dinner was delicious as usual and service was great. They even came out with birthday dessert with a candle on it. Overall great night and they validated parking as well!
OK nice place Very large ..but well priced and kept up nice . but wished the buffet was open ..was closed Monday and Tuesday when I was there
Good table games, 2hrs in casino and never was offered a drink, had to go to the bar and buy one
I have never stayed downtown but I will everytime now. Golden nugget is classy and old school with some updated flare. I spent most my time in the bar 46 gambling on the $5 blackjack tables which was a lot of fun. The dealers were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was ok but I would skip next time I visit
I loved everything about the Golden Nugget the location the rooms and the great restaurants.
The pool was unbelievable
The staff was exceptional
Loved the poolside with the shark tank cool bar area, claim jumper restuarant, starbucks,Cadillac sportsbar, especially the location near Fremont street was awesome loved going to Troy the club in there as well we will return
Low price, similar taste, lesser presentation food, but awesome energy and fun crowd.
Perfectly fine hotel; very clean and great location. Had a problem but the staff were kind and were able to compensate it well.
Great, classic hotel and casino on the Fremont Street Experience. Hotel rooms have been remodeled and pool area is located in the middle of the hotel area.
Loved the buffet. The staff were great and had a good selection of games
The people were great and I really felt comfortable
Stop there to eat need to have more time to check out all they offer but
Looks really nice inside
Stopped by to watch the game and gamble a little. Nothing spectacular. Old outdated casino and decor like most.
the nugget is the best hotel downtown by far. rooms were clean, staff was friendly and the hotel itself was very nice. cant wait to come back.
I booked a room at the Golden Nugget because some friends and I were clebrating my 50th birthday. It was horrible we had a rusted tub bugs in our room mean staff members..drinks were also bad food as well they count on you being drunk I guess to say you enjoyed it. I switched rooms 3 times and I cant wait to check out tomorrow..
Clean room, busy hotel and the security checking room cards needs some guest appreciation training...
They have a nice pool available with a shark tank that you can swim by
Got upgraded but not sure why. Didn't argue! Great room, great price, great location.
For one of the old original Las Vegas casinos hotels it was really amazing inside. And aquarium that ran through the hotel and out to the pool and around it was amazing
Great time. Upgraded to the Rush tower. Rooms very nice, hotel awesome. Got several perks with the upgrade. Highly recommend.
The front desk was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in. The security in the parking garage were very rude. The beds were tiny and uncomfortable. They charge 10 dollars for 3 little packs of coffee in the room. There is no free wifi service and they charge you for that. Gambling was the worst! Wait time for room service was 2 hours! The food at the restaurants and buffet was decent. I will never stay here again. Bottom line...staff needs training in hospitality, they need to upgrade the comfort level, and quit overcharging for every little thing.
The hotel is on the old side. All the older hotels on Fremont St. Must compete with the new strip hotels. The pool os above average due to the aquarium. I like the action of the Strip better. The Fremont Experience is not enough to keep me staying there.
We did 7 nights for vacation. It was a great place in all ways. Gets a bit crowded on weekends but that just means the Nugget is doing something right!
Best Hotel and poker room downtown with lots of food options
It's definitely the nicest hotel and casino on Fremont. However the rooms are still only average. What irritated me the most is that they started doing construction in the room next to us at 7:30 in the morning. Banging on walls, using loud tools. They provided us with earplugs in the room "to help get a good night's rest" but never warned us about the construction. The pool is awesome but by about 3 pm it was cloudy and dirty from all the people. There are also only a few lounge chairs in the shade which is horrible in 110 degree heat. The adult only pool was nice, but also dirty and there are no free lounge chairs by it. Only ones you have to pay $30 for, otherwise your stuff goes on the ground by the pool. If I could get an amazing deal in the off season for this place I would go again, but it wouldn't be on the top of my list.
We went for the buffet brunch, one of the ladies helping at the register was super rude and unfriendly. She's didn't even make eye contact when one of the people in our group ask for directions to the restroom. The food was ok. Our server was pretty good, kept our drinks full and routinely pick up the used plates. Hotel was beautiful, we loved the pool and shark tank.
