Bait and switch on hotel pricing! Charged me $50 more than the advertised rate. Poor custom service and rude at the pool. The bathroom smelled like sewer when you turned on the water. The air conditioning is extremely noisy when running. And stay away from in-resort Claim Jumper rude, poor service, gross and undercooked food. This hotel is aging and it shows.

Nice room, asked for something with a view, the check in clerk put us on the top floor with a view of the strip. The buffet was pretty good, could have used a little more variety but not bad. We were only there for one night so we didn't get to do a whole lot. The pool looked nice and fun. The proximity to the Fremont Street Experience was great. We got to get out and experience some of Vegas on a limited schedule.

So this was my first time staying downtown after always staying on the strip, and I had a great time. Had a room in the Gold Tower, it was very clean, quiet and was only a short walk from the elevator. The casino also wasn't so big you'd find yourself meandering trying to get outside. The pool was also great with the water slide. Plenty of food options too, the buffet is good and has views of the pool area. If you want to get to the strip, the express bus is just a short walk from the exit. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.

The Golden Nugget is a very beautiful hotel, but it is too packed for me. We had a meeting down at the bar with famous musicians and we couldn't walk because the hallways are too small for so many people. Regardless of the crowd, my experience was fantastic! I had a blast.

Classic hotel and casino right in the middle of the Fremont Street experience. Can't go wrong here. Nice pool and a huge fish tank with a water slide that cuts right through it!! Best casino downtown!!

The not so talked about gem of Las vegas.

The not so talked about gem of Las vegas.
Everything I have experience at the Golden Nugget has been top-notch, the best service from the quality of food to lay out and ease of getting from Fremont Street to the valet area.
This by far as one of the best pools I've ever seen with one of the coolest water slides multiple levels you can't go wrong at the Golden Nugget.
A great Buffett and a real lively active casino at pretty much all hours of the day.

The restaurant was beautiful with a salt water fish tank that could be enjoyed no matter where you were seated. The service was top notch without being overly pushy with just the right amount of care. The food was picturesque but more importantly, it was flavorful and fresh. We will absolutely return! Well done!!

Not the greatest for a few critical reasons.

Not the greatest for a few critical reasons.

The location is great for the Life is Beautiful festival which is walking distance from the hotel. We originally booked through Expedia and wound up with a king size room, non-smoking. We needed 2 beds. My friend called the Golden Nugget directly to make the change before we arrived and even making that change was a challenge. She was on hold for well over 30 minutes the first time and when transferred to the department to assist with that the call was disconnected. Then she wound up speaking to someone after calling back that said they could not accommodate the request for a room change. She called back again and finally reached someone who was willing to accommodate.

When we arrived, the front desk had our reservation down as 2 beds. Great! Just what we needed. When we got up to our room, it was dirty. Toilet paper in the unflushed toilet, empty coffee cups on the vanity, beer bottle in the trash can, and beds that had been sat on with strands of long blonde hair on them. My biggest concern was our safety and if someone had access to our room. She called the front desk to explain our room condition and they said someone would be by to fix it and that no one else had access to our room so our safety was not a concern. About 10 minutes later the housekeeping manager arrived. We explained our dirty room findings and that we expected and needed a non-smoking room. He was surprised that we were put in a smoking room since we had originally requested one when we booked. We told him that no one at the front desk asked our preferrence (nor told us what type of room we would be getting) but our original reservation was for non-smoking. He said he would have the bellman go up to our room and move us to a double non-smoking room. Over half an hour passed and no one arrived. My friend called the front desk and they knew nothing of our interaction with the housekeeping manager. She had to explain the situation yet again and was told by the front desk that there are no guarantees on preference for smoking versus non-smoking rooms. My friend asked 'what if you have asthma?' to which they replied there were no guarantees and that they were sold out and that there were no other rooms to be moved to.

It was frustrating that the housekeeping manager offered us something that he could not deliver and that the front desk and reservation staff were rude on multiple interactions (before and during our stay). What a way to keep your customers happy! We wound up buying scented candles and had them burning all weekend long in attempt to cover the smoke stench and I had a can of Lysol to disinfect our dirty-on-arrival room that we were never offered to have cleaned after our complaints of dirtiness. We did get our 'upgrade' fee refunded for switching from a king to double room. Based on this stay, I would not stay here again. Poor customer service, offering what you can't deliver, and a dirty stinky room are not what I'm after when I come to Vegas. Stay away from GN!

This is the place that keeps us coming back to Vegas. They clearly have the best pool in the area and the rooms are all so nice and clean, recently updated. We always get the claim jumper chocolate cake from room service on our last night in town and it always arrives quickly and with super friendly service. The rooms are so nice and big and always clean when we arrive. This has become our favorite place to stay in Vegas. So much fun to be had nearby and somewhere nice to crash at night. The staff is always friendly in all the restaurants and shops. Thanks to everyone at the Golden Nugget for always making our stay special!

Nice mix of live and video gaming. One of the premier casinos down on Fremont St, I particularly enjoyed the live music in the center bar room. If you still park and eat at their restaurant or gamble, they will validate your parking up to 3 hours.

We normally stay on the strip, but decided to take advantage of the lower hotel rates and were pleasantly surprised! We were able to upgrade to a mini suite for a mere $20 a night and the staff (Jessica) was very helpful in our check in / upgrade process. Definitely will consider coming back here next time we're in Vegas!

We didn't spend much time at the Golden Nugget, we we're simply visiting Fremont Street for a walk through the locations available. The Golden Nugget was a pretty cool original casino, however it was still a typical casino, and was almost the same as anything we saw on the strip. It was still cool to to see and walk through. I just wish more places downtown had the OG quarter slot machines like The D Hotel.

Nice enough place but WAY overbooked for pandemic precautions. Long lines to get on elevators [limit 4 passengers to a car, only 4 of 5 elevators in service], check-in staffed by only 2 folks when there are too many folks in line to expect any kind of safety, over an hour wait to get into the pool area. Just ridiculous. Don't try to make up your pandemic losses the first week. You'll upset or infect a LOT of people.

Went to Golden Nugget for a birthday dinner at Vic and Anthony's. It was a surprise birthday dinner and it went all to plan with the help of the employees. Dinner was delicious as usual and service was great. They even came out with birthday dessert with a candle on it. Overall great night and they validated parking as well!

I have never stayed downtown but I will everytime now. Golden nugget is classy and old school with some updated flare. I spent most my time in the bar 46 gambling on the $5 blackjack tables which was a lot of fun. The dealers were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was ok but I would skip next time I visit

The front desk was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in. The security in the parking garage were very rude. The beds were tiny and uncomfortable. They charge 10 dollars for 3 little packs of coffee in the room. There is no free wifi service and they charge you for that. Gambling was the worst! Wait time for room service was 2 hours! The food at the restaurants and buffet was decent. I will never stay here again. Bottom line...staff needs training in hospitality, they need to upgrade the comfort level, and quit overcharging for every little thing.

The hotel is on the old side. All the older hotels on Fremont St. Must compete with the new strip hotels. The pool os above average due to the aquarium. I like the action of the Strip better. The Fremont Experience is not enough to keep me staying there.

It's definitely the nicest hotel and casino on Fremont. However the rooms are still only average. What irritated me the most is that they started doing construction in the room next to us at 7:30 in the morning. Banging on walls, using loud tools. They provided us with earplugs in the room "to help get a good night's rest" but never warned us about the construction. The pool is awesome but by about 3 pm it was cloudy and dirty from all the people. There are also only a few lounge chairs in the shade which is horrible in 110 degree heat. The adult only pool was nice, but also dirty and there are no free lounge chairs by it. Only ones you have to pay $30 for, otherwise your stuff goes on the ground by the pool. If I could get an amazing deal in the off season for this place I would go again, but it wouldn't be on the top of my list.

We went for the buffet brunch, one of the ladies helping at the register was super rude and unfriendly. She's didn't even make eye contact when one of the people in our group ask for directions to the restroom. The food was ok. Our server was pretty good, kept our drinks full and routinely pick up the used plates. Hotel was beautiful, we loved the pool and shark tank.
