What was once Downtown's premier is showing its age and change in management. If you are a "high roller" you will still be treated great. But the rest of us are slowly being shown that our business is not really appreciated. Still, the pool is amazing; the inside restaurants are very good, the rooms have nice amenities (mostly at extra cost now), and the selection of games is good. The one outstanding point still, gaming wise, is their poker room, one of the best in Las Vegas.

This past weekend my cousins came over to visit me from Mexico to California. So I planned a Vegas trip for us. They had never been to OldVegas and they Loved it!!! We sat on a PokerTable for over 12 hrs. I can't be exaggerating it was a badass day. Hours flew by as well as the drinks we were having. The sercive was great! By far the best waitress service in all Vegas! I can't wait to be back with my cousins & beat our record. #ArribaJalisco

I came to the golden nugget to gamble and eat at their buffet. The buffet had a large variety of food and was very clean, but it is a bit pricey. You can find each day's price online. The casino is very lively and fun, with dancers and some vintage decorations. Great place to go to experience Old Vegas.

No value for my money here! Forced to park in their dirty, dusty, dingy high-rise parking lot--a $15 experience I will never forget! Machines are tight and meant for tourists--NOT locals. This is a great place to avoid if you're a native of Las Vegas. Like many attractions, it's nice to look at but never touch! They need to pressure wash their parking deck top to bottom, and be friendly to locals. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Definitely a piece of History you can feel the old vibes. Very busy, friendly staff, smoke was hard to handle over all experience was okay. Definitely have to check out the gold nugget.

It is a classic original Vegas casino, and it does actually have a giant gold nugget on display. Drink service is better than average. The decor is a little better than some of the other Fremont Street casinos. I stay on the strip when I come to visit Vegas, but if I didn't I would probably stay at the Nugget. As usual, make sure to tip your drink server well and they will be back before you finish your drink time and time again.

I wont give any stars, rooms are meadiocre at best and they want to CHARGE $35.00 to sit on a pool chair. Drinks are over priced. I'll never stay again and will do anything to get out of our reservations. No accommodations to their guests.

It's okay for what it offers. You probably won't be spending that much time in your room anyway. I stay here for business trips, and Fremont Street can be a bit noisy if you are trying to get some sleep at a decent hour. My only gripe is they don't have coffee makers in the rooms anymore.

The swimming pool is absolutely amazing. The fish in the tank are huge. I am a local and I had a ball at the swimming pool kid friendly and not deep at all.

The pool has a slide that goes through the shark tank. You will not see much in the slide as your flying lol..

I would recommend the hotel based on the pool alone. They have an adult only section as well for those who want to be kid free.

Towels supplied and you can order drinks and food at the pool. Even play card games.

You have to go at least once.

I liked the shark pool and the walking area outside. This place is nicer than the Strip most of the time. If you want to go to the pool, you'll need your room key so don't forget it! There are smoking areas but the casino area also had the faint smell of cigars, the rest of Vegas isn't much better but it is expected. I recommend booking a room here if you want to visit Vegas and relax for a few days as well as signing up for the MGM casino card to get better offers in nearly all of Vegas.

This place is really nice for being in the older part of vegas

Pool is off the charts - pretty sweet older person party scene

Food is great - sushi joint is very good and easy on the wallet

Ridiculous fees and no service. I got charged a $180 "hotel service" fee ON TOP of the room fee. What does this pay for?! What "service"? If you order in-room dining the not only is the price jacked higher, but theres also a $5 delivery fee. Why doesnt my $180 service fee cover this?

The TV channels are terrible (nearly all news. No cartoons or shows. You can "buy a movie" for $15 dollars.). Theres not even coffee, no microwave, and 'renting a fridge' is $35 a day plus a $10 delivery fee. WiFi is $10 a day (the 'free wifi is 1Mbs, which you cant even watch a youtube video on). The casino is fine. The restaurants are fine. The pool and slide are pretty cool. But next time I'll find a cheap hotel down the street and take an Uber to get here for the fun.

I was very diaponted with the room we got, the room was filthy. The bed skirt had vomit. The floors were filthy,we have been coming here for many years and never experienced anything like this. I think it's time to find a new Hotel!

The gal at the check in when we arrived was very rude. We went with friends and requested rooms by each other, she put us on separate floors even though we had both upgraded our rooms. Which, we did not get the upgraded room because there were " none left ". No compensation or apologies. We went the end of February this year and had booked everything for our trip in October of last year so I don't know what the problem was. We also not told about the resort fees. The toilet in our room wouldn't flush right. Besides that everyone and everything else was good but we won't return there.

Room was nice but the people at the business center were very rude and not helpful at all. The people at the front desk were very helpful. I have stayed here many times and I do recomend. I do think there needs to be dedicated parking for people who are staying at the hotel. Got back late sat night and the parking garage was full. Had to drive around for a while until a spot opened. When paying $500 for 2 nights I better be able to park at the garage. Other than that it is a nice place to stay

Really great hotel and resort in downtown Las Vegas. The gambling is decent there with good selection of tables. The rooms in the Carson tower are big and have everything you need, the only problem is the beds are small. Keep in mind if you are checking out on a Sunday between 10 and noon, the elevators will have a wait. They have good restaurants and the staff is very helpful. Also there are two Starbucks in the resort so that's a bonus.

I love staying here when I am forced to go to Vegas, Fremont Street I feel is better than the strip, and in my opinion with the dinning options and amenities the golden nugget is the spot to be

I would rate the room higher but im in a smoking room and im being charged a hundred bucks for smoking in my room not to mention that it was hair in the sink when I 1st checked in and room reeked of marijuana I was never told not to smoke marijuana and I don't see a policy saying no weed smoking think I need a refund of my hundred dollars

Nice place. We only went there to play table games. The dealers I interacted with were friendly, and helpful in giving recommendations for other attractions. It was definitely more upscale than most of the other casinos in Fremont, but the table minimums were also higher

I've stayed here the last few years and this has by far been the worst experience of 2016! I will NOT be staying here again. First of all, you can't make out anything that is coming through on your tv.. While you may not be spending most of your time in the room.. If you wanted to watch anything at all on some downtime it's not going to happen. Secondly, my husband and I tried ordering from their late night menu from our room and told we only had optional choices to choose from. When I asked to speak to a manager, he said the kitchen was closed down and we didn't have the option to order from the menu in our room. Then why have a late night menu if you can't order from it?! The bathroom was dirty and had rust throughout the tub.. It's not like I'm going to take a bath but I expect the room to be clean.. I have appreciated the hospitality in the past but will not be staying here again!

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed ourselves at this hotel and casino! We had friends that were staying there and they had an amazing room with view of the pool. Was really awesome and comfortable! 2 floors, steam shower, bar, totally for people that like to have a good time. When visiting the casino the waitresses took a little longer than expected for drinks, but the slots were loose during the week. I would definitely stay here next time I visit Vegas!

We only played in the casino therefore I can only give a limited review...I personally liked the slot machines and the cocktail waitresses were fabulous! I was able to get into bonus without paying big money...which in my book makes a casino fun! However I was approached three different times to either buy a cell phone or because someone was hungry...which was SO sad. Unfortunately I had to leave as I couldn't deal with the plight of others...and I had no solution.

Every staff assistant was very helpful and willing to guide you the right area lots of slots and tables to pick from and assortments drinks. Nice pool area and plenty of dinning resturants i had a blast will be coming in the near future

Great staff, very hospitable and accommodating to all guestsRooms are excellent and reasonably priced. Pool is really cool with the water slide thru a clear tube in the shark tend. Pool also has some decent gaming. Wide variety of hotel fine dining. And of course the real treat is that Fremont Street is just outside the outer doors for a visual trip of strange things. We always prefer it here vs the new strip.

The people there are incredible. The food was delicious. It was our last night, and wanted to be as impressed as we could. Not at all disappointed. Go to Vic and Anthony's. They can smoke at the casino tables...good for some, not for others. It is all workable. My daughter, Amanda placed a bet on the roulette table, and came away with double the money. Too much fun.

Very easy to just walk around Fremont and when you needed to take a break just head back to your hotel room or pool. The beds were comfy and the pillows might have been just a little too big, but that s ok. Our room was clean. Just a note for first timers, like myself to this hotel, there is a sign you hang up on the door in the morning if you want clean linens. I didn t see it my first night/morning oops. We are going to stay here again next year.
