It's showing its age. Three neighborhood is trying to revamp itself so it's getting to be more hip but old vegas is just a good place to visit once in awhile. It's really run down on the inside but it's still a lively crowd at night. You get $5 black jack tables.

The only things that I can WOW about are the pool and the food at Cadillac cafe ..the rooms were very disappointed, carpet smelled old, bathrooms, tubs are stained, amenities are good though...

Our room was BAD, the sheets were dirty, the phone didn t work so you couldn t call the front desk or room service, there are NO outlets anywhere except by the window near the floor and the music from Fremont Street was so loud that our bed vibrated. Trying to find food was impossible, the restaurants that were open had a 1-2 hour wait. All of the game tables were full and they didn t bother opening any additional tables. We were planning to stay another two days but we are checking out and going to the Cosmopolitan.

Large, comfortable rooms in the heart of the Fremont St. experience. Best pool around, plenty of gaming action. Enjoyed dinner at the buffet. Lots of entree choices, food was properly prepared and quite tasty. Service was spot on and friendly. I'd sort of expected a broader array of dessert offerings, but all in all a fine Vegas buffet experience.

Staying at the Carson Tower is great and cheap. The Spa Suite is beautiful. But their reservations/managers/staff in general are rude. I just got off the phone with a manager and she refuses to waive a fee that was just ridiculous. I brought around 50 plus people into that hotel for my wedding and everyone had issues with their staff and even things breaking in their rooms. It is embarrassing that I gave this place my wedding business and they are not even respectful it.

List of issues: Took us until 7pm to get checked into our room; we were told 3pm. Guest couldn't use gym due to their negligence and staff was rude about it. Keys, keys, keys were not working and we needed them to go up the elevator (Spa tour) - major headache. Guest in Spa Suite 5F had to listen to a mind numbing base noise from the exhaust valve/AC outside their room. Several of our guests had TVs and other appliances that wouldn't work in their Carson tour rooms.

I have stayed at the Golden Nugget with my family for March Madness every year for the past 8 years but I will definitely be changing venue next year based on how rude their workers are.

With that said, the wedding planner Silke is absolutely the best and I am glad that she is so organized and great at customer service. The rest of them can learn a thing or two from her.

The room was decent, about what you would expect. The bed was a bit soft for my taste, but comfy enough. Nice view. The shower was outstanding. Tall enough shower head for me (6'1") and great water pressure.

After my last trip to Old Vegas, I will only be staying at the Golden Nugget. This is the Vegas you've always pictured. Clean, reasonably priced and not nearly as obnoxious as the strip. Plus, the pool is great. Swimming next to the fish is just so cool.

Second time staying at The Golden Nugget at Fremont: we love it. My wife loves the pool and the water slide, I love the tables and food.

The Hotel is huge, and offers everything you would need for a weekend or a full weeks stay. Plenty of restaurants offering specialty foods. Check out The Claim Jumper for some awesome breakfast foods, and The Grotto for the Happy Hour Specials.

The staff is super friendly and helpful, they have no problems teaching you live how to play a new game and will help you the whole way through.

This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Lightbulbs out in the bathroom, chocolate and water all over the vanity, no water pressure, sink is dripping, shower water won't fully turn off and is a steady small stream, rust all over the metal in the bathroom, very dirty floor-i feel like I need to get shower shoes. We paid 3x more than the rooms are at and they wouldnt upgrade or do anything to benefit that (165 when the rooms are 50 now for one night). Cant believe I have to come back to this hotel sunday night too, absolutely dreading it. I also left a shopping bag on the floor at check in and I called to ask if it was turned into them, they replied with I don't know, just come down and check. Terrible customer service with that. I will not be spending a dollar more at this casino this week. Ridiculous for a supposedly 4 star hotel.

I loved this casino. We came here and stayed for our wedding and miniature honeymoon. Our room was great. The service when we left was perfect. Getting there was not so great. The bell hop who took over an hour to get us our bags expected a tip. He literally would not leave our room until he got a tip. We had to send him away. But the rest of the service people we encountered were absolutely great and got our tips.

Was treated like a second-class citizen it may not have been at the High Roller table but I was definitely gambling all night not once was I ever offered a drink and whenever I ask somebody to help me they acted like I was a bother to them I said a bottle of water would be nice please and thank you which i never recived my husband responded to me saying because I didn't have a weiner the ladies that dispense drinks didn't think I would tip them boy did they miss out!!! Staff was rude all of them!!! I wanted to go because of the swimming pool I heard it was worth it because of the beauty I can say this you can only polish a turd so much before you smell crap!!! I won't be wasting my time or money there ever again!

Very nice place. CON: to get room clean, you have to call for service the day before BY 12pm. Second, to check out before 8am, you have to call or text. Third, no wakeup call, all were fired due to CV.
PRO: room was comped.

1st time I've been to Vegas ever it was a girls weekend what an absolute blast and the perfect location right in the middle of Freemont. I could not have asked for a better experience the service at the pool was amazing and so was the pool. Everyone that I dealt with was courteous and so helpful. The rooms were perfect and great sized. Beds were totally comfortable for a great night's sleep. I would bring my son here or just come back for another girls trip which I am totally planning and looking forward to already. Food was great drinks were even better. I will be back!!!

The Golden Nugget is a great place to stay for your first time to Vegas. Friendly check in, my room was very nice with a firm King size bed. There were robes and slippers in the closet along with a safe. The tub seemed wider and had a spacious bathroom and separate vanity. The location is fantastic to step out and see all the lights, restaurants and gambling galore. There was a channel on tv that gave great reviews of all the foods nearby. They also had The Shark Tank by the pool with fish and a tube slide, you can also gamble by the pool

Was asked if would like to upgrade, after the check in clerk showed me photos of the newly remodeled Rush tower, I politely declined by saying "looks really nice but I shouldn't thank you. He says I'm giving the free upgrade! Wow thank you. Lucky day. Room is beautiful!

My parents use to take me there as a kid. I only remembered how awesome it was there with the shark tank. But visiting there now. Its smoke infested the buffet was mediocre. Overall it's still a nice place for the price.

The rooms weren't like the strip Vegas rooms but like a normal hotel room. Clean and nice enough. Our door lock had some issues and when we asked that it be fixed we were told maintenance was not allowed to fix it unless we were there. House cleaning could come in the room, as could someone to drop off water....but maintenance was not allowed. Odd.
The casino still had the smoke smell of the old casinos, the lobby and pool was kept up and nice.

The facility is nice. Prolly the best in old Las Vegas. The Carson Tower seems far to the street. You have to walk all thru the casino to exit. Parking is good. Staff friendly. The Fremont St Experience is losing its alure.

This place is terrible, horrible service. Horrible. Staff treat you like a number not a guest. Vale drivers are theives. Baggage assistance are theifs. This place is a never visit again location. Save yourself the headaches. You need help customer assistance tells you to use there phone and call for them super lazy staff...

Been to this place twice and enjoyed it both times. Nice rooms, swimming pool, plenty of restaurants and large casino area. Only gripe is that rooms don't have refrigerators or microwaves

The rooms are fine but nothing special. Only a few channels on the TV - not even basic cable. The buffet is WAY over priced and the quality isn't worth $25. Hidden fees when booking through Expedia. My $47/night room has a $27/night "resort fee" that gets me 2 bottled waters and a newspaper. RIP off. They say it's disclosed and I'm sure it's buried in the fine print that no one reads. Should have been charged that when I booked and paid for the room. All in all stay on the strip. About the same prices and just about everything is better.

Lobby and restaurants nice, including the Chart House for dinner. Worth the ride to the area just to take in the Fremont Street Experience. Totally different feel than the "strip" hotels. I can't comment on their rooms. We didn't stay overnight.

The casino looked awesome. I didn't stay there, but stopped by to check the place out and play before wondering over to Freemont Street. The pool is really cool with the sharks on the other side of the glass. I like the renovations they did

Thankfully I planned an amazing anniversary for my wife and didn t plan my whole trip in Vegas because this was not the experience of hospitality I was expecting. Upon check in we were told that the room that we paid for in advance was not available so instead of upgrading us like some resorts would do, they downgraded us to a twin with no sort of compensation, only that we would be able to change rooms the following morning. I just went down before checkout to get our new room and was told that our new room would be available around 3pm. So now we have to go back to the same room, unpack and get ready for the day and then pack back up to get to a room where we can sleep together. And again... no compensation was offered. All the years I ve spent in the industry, I m ashamed that a Landry s owner property (something I am normally in love with) has treated us so poorly. Great top notch Vegas customer service. Thought this place was best of the best in that category

Very good casino, free pool, beautiful croupiers. Of the pluses, slot machines give you a gripe unlike a lot of other casinos, indoors well works exhaust, smell from cigarettes is almost not audible, clean room. Of the minuses, a bit cramped, very expensive food in a cafe, restaurant and buffet, there is no free parking. Given how many casinos earn, could make inexpensive restaurants, and free parking. To come there for the whole day you need to have an additional $ 200 to pay for parking, and to eat. This is not very convenient.

Me credit card was found in the Grotto by one the employees and was taken to lost & found. If it was not for an honest employee this could have been bad for me. This was a prepaid gift card with a large balance. I do not know who turned it in but my servers name was Elma. Thank you Golden Nugget.

Wow we had a great time in the pool area with the family. We were there for a family reunion and there was over 50 if us there. The waitress and the bartender in the pool area handled our group extremely well. They were very attentive and quick with our drink orders. Service was awesome! We all had breakfast in the buffet and the food was good. When we told the hostess that there was a Large group (30+) coming for breakfast and each family was paying separately and we wanted to sit together, they were not sure how to make that happen. But they eventually figured it out. They had plenty of space that was empty on one side with no one in it but they said they didn't have a server to put there So we waited another 20 minutes for them to figure it out. The cost of the buffet I felt was over priced for the food they served.

Only went inside ans walked around the hotel! It was a very cool experience. It felt like an older fashioned casino compared to the hotels on the main strip. This is also located right In the heart of fremont street. So if you are staying here it is in a great location. Although I was suprised that placed started closing at 3 to 4am. It was completely dead and there was only homeless people out and about around this time. Lol I thought sin city never slept! All in all both the main strip and fremont street are must sees when you are going to visit Las Vegas!!

At first, I wasn't convinced as this is away from the gentrified strip where you have Bellagio, Venetian and others. But having been there 3 times, this is a must visit in Vegas. Food is great. Plenty of slot machines. Good service. Right next to Fremont Street which has some of the best free shows in Vegas. Do yourself a favor - even if you are staying at the strip, take a cab to this place, have food at Chart House restaurant (huge aquarium, generous portions, fresh food, the best hummus I had anywhere in the world if you like that), spend a few hours at slot machines and Fremont.

Better still, stay here a couple of nights. Totally worth it.

Not a bad place to stay. Rooms were as advertised. Service was top notch. Staff was courteous, accommodating, and amiable. Dining at the several restaurants there was a mixed bag, but worth exploring. The casino itself was massive and the air wasn't too smoky, although I spent zero time on the gaming floor, except to pass through in my way to other areas. The bars and service at them were great. Great experience. I'll be back.

The Wonder Woman slot hit beside me for the MINOR jackpot of 36.77 and then the Bonus wheel hit 10x the minor. Simple math says that's 367.70 and his win was 126.70. He said, You saw that, right? I sure did! He called the manager and a slot tech guy that replayed the win several times trying to justify it cheating the man. Don't know how it turned out but that game, along with many others was definitely "rigged"!

The best part of the Golden Nugget casino is it's location, Fremont is one of tge coolest places in Vegas, almost rivaling the strip. Weekend night the live bands and electric video roof is amazing. We wanted to check out the Pawn Star's pawn ship, and it was a 20 minute walk from Golden Nugget, so that was also rad. The Golden Nugget is pretty awesome for historical reasons but it's kind of a generic resort as a whole.
