Gambling wasn't bad. The buffet was pretty good. Housekeeping left us alone when we wanted. Room was pretty standard. Booked trip to check out the aquarium and the slide through it and pool. They closed the pool for the entire month the day we arrived and refused to comp us or do anything at all except take off one day of their bogus resort fees. I couldn't even use WiFi without paying $15. Oh well it was cheap, and the hotel is decent, you get what you pay for.

Great hotel, excellent rates, friendly staff. My wife and I were only able to stay for one night, but the Golden Nugget was a great pick. The place was busy, but clean. Staff worked efficiently to serve all the customers as quickly as possible, but they were courteous and helpful all the time. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished and decorated. There were no unpleasant odors; we had a non-smoking room, and while smoke was ever-present in the casino, there was no scent of it in our room. The bed was comfortable and clean, as was t he furniture. We would definitely stay here again, hopefully for a longer time. We want to try the restaurants in the hotel, and we want to check out the pool, with the slide through the shark tank. Location is good, too, just a short walk from Fremont Street.
Very clean. Other casinos are smokey and stinky. Not this one. Friendly staff too. I was there for training. So I didn't gamble much. But I did have to go through the casino to shop for souvenirs. The only negative was an Italian restaurant inside the casino, with awful food and rude staff.
Now although I did not stay here, I did gamble here and walk through. The complementary drinks while gambling are stronger than on the strip. It is a very pretty Hotel and casino located directly on Fremont Street. The pool area was amazing!
We stayed in the Rush Tower so we were closer to the pool and the casino. It was nice to able to step out onto Fremont Street and enjoy all the live bands and street performers. Many great restaurants
Was looking high and low for Starbucks downtown. Thrilled to find the one at Golden Nugget 24 hours! HOWEVER, due to winter being off season they have decided to close at midnight. Although there were employees and paid customers in the store-the walked in at 12:01 am and was cheerfully told they were closed. The casino floor was packed and the music from the performers outside-beneath the "Canopy of Lights" was overwhelming.
This would be one of first choice next time. Staff are extraordinarily friendly, helpful and attentive. Rooms are nicely appointed to and the security is at top most level!!!!
Good location if you like downtown, good restaurants inside, nice pool, staff is usually great. My room was clean but lacking amenities. No mini bar, no fridge, no way to make coffee if I want, you get all those in a Motel 6. Price wasn't bad. Check-in and check-out was pretty easy. My only sticking point was when they initially rejected a late check-out even though we were spending time and money in their spa. I had to ask for a manager before it was approved.
If you want to stay downtown I highly recommend, but next time I think I will stay on the strip, we spent so much time there it got expensive traveling back and forth.
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. But the customer service is not good at all. After getting off the plane ready to relax. It took 1 hour to check in. It was only three people checking people in and bout 50 in line. Then they was rude wen u had a question. They need to send they workers to customer service class cause they weren't ready
Loved the nostalgia of the place. Unfortunately, the overwhelming cigarette smoke kept us from being able to hang, gamble and explore the place = disappointing. We had to leave and go to the places that had good ventilation.
Had a great time staying here. We stayed in the Rush Tower and the room was newly renovated, clean, upscale and very well appointed. Downtown Fremont is always a party and having a great place to stay makes it even more fantastic. Highly recommend for an awesome weekend!
The hotel in general is awesome, but my only complaint is the pool closes way too early. All my daughter wanted to do was go in the pool and by the time we checked in, got to our room, refreshed our selves and put on bathing suits it was 7:03 and they said the pool closed at 7. This is Vegas. Why does it close so early?
One of the originals, its certainly worth a visit. But without the proximity to the Freemont st experience it wouldn't be worth a visit for us. The casino is nice enough, but it seems to be trying to be a strip casino in downtown, the pricing and options don't always match the location and vibe of this casino.
Hotel rooms are clean and there nice views of the mountains. Right of Fremont Street so it's a great location. Staff is friendly. Pool is open late with a slide through a shark tank. Sushi place inside casino is delicious. Breakfast buffet is on the cheaper side for Vegas but still really good.
The Golden Nugget is always a stop on any trip we take to Vegas. We love the dining options, the gaming, and the pool area. The decor is amazing and the hotel itself is very nice. On top of this, you can't beat the beat the location: right on the Fremont Street Experience.
I visited the Golden Nugget to see the Weightlifting Championships. I absolutely loved the Golden Nugget. I can still find my way around in this casino, which is part of why I don't want to leave it once I am in it.
Great place to stay on Fremont Street. Upgraded to a Gold Room. It was spacious and had a view of the pool. Hotel is dated a little but the room was renovated. Slide that goes through a shark tank is awesome to see. Only hassle, yet expected, was waiting in line to check in.
Finally made the trip to Fremont Street and it didn't disappoint. Pay your respects and stop by the Golden Nugget for a bright snapshot of a time past.
This place screwed us out of a 4 room reservation. Decided that a cot and couch was "good enough" . The room itself was UNFINISHED when it came to cleaning. WTH??? And you expect me to spend money here gambling or ANYTHING ELSE???
Love the shark tank pool it's really fun going through the water slide. Also can sit up and have a margaritaor play some table games looking at a huge tank full of beautiful fish and sharks.
Nice hotel to stay at but with the resort fee we expected more than 2 bottles of water per room per day was not very much water especially when there was 3 of us. Hard to get a seat at the pool. Would have been nice for some parts of the hotel/casino to be smoke free. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been great
I just picked up my tickets at the box office for a concert. I was the only one there, and the girl at the desk, I think she said her name was Alex, was very rude. There was no greeting of hello, just what do you need with a bad attitude. No customer service skills whatsoever. GN please employ people who want to be working there, maybe she needs training. This will be my first visit to your showroom, it didn t start out very well, I just hope it ends well with a good concert!!
Still looks same, and I haven't visited this casino in 10 years. Still reaps of cig smoke. For as much money as these casinos pull in they can't improve ventilation system? Machines tend to be a bit tight. If you want to gamble at bar, signs are posted on how much you have to gamble to get free drink.
We stay here almost every year. Sometimes twice a year. We love it. Fremont steet is always amazing. The lights, the food, and the people. The casino is a good place to stay. It's where the locals go to my understanding. Rooms are clean, depending on tower, and the service was good. Prices are high. Yet, the pool is a good place to bring everyone. Depending on the day and the time. Weekend and later at night not as kid friendly. I mean, it is Vegas. Use your judgment.
I stopped in to the Golden Nugget during a girls trip to Vegas. After playing the slots and not being served, I encountered an incredibly standoffish, homophobic bartender. My interaction with this male bartender was unbelievable. Golden Nugget, please, get better employees.
The rooms look clean but they smell very bad like cigarettes, old food, BO, and something else. The hotel and play areas are very clean and organized and the all the staff we encountered were amazing.
We just got back from our annual 4 day vacation. we usually stay at the Rio but this time decided to try something new. Golden nugget did not disappoint, will continue to try new places every year but this was great
I only go to Old Vegas hotels to gamble, never as an overnight guest. The atmosphere is pretty good. You see the "more interesting" people of Vegas in this area. It also seems that there is more smoking in the old casinos. There are cheaper table games and electronic tables in Old Vegas.
Our room was great, we won a bit of money on their slots, and they have some of the best (while high priced) restaurants in Fremont. The Grille wasn't the greatest (I do not recommend their pastries, that was a waste of money), and the Buffet had weird hours for meals (I mean, c'mon, how are you supposed to drag your hungover friends down to breakfast before the 10:30am cutoff time?!) but the food was good. Also, the Plaza is a short walk away, and Hash House a Go Go has breakfast whenever you want it, and a LOT of it! I think my only other gripe, if you will, was waiting nearly an hour to get our bags when bell service said they'd bring them up for us upon arrival. We only had 1 per person, very easy for us to carry, but we ended up sitting in our room waiting for quite some time. The convenience of checking in without carrying luggage was not worth the wait to get our luggage after that. The best part of our stay was our chaise lounge rental at the Hideout. if we were staying longer, I would have loved to have gotten one of the chairs in the water down below on a different day, but being in a section that was 21 and Over was great!
The shark tank slider in the center of the swimming pool is the more attraction for us to stay. Personally if you like live music and street performance good prices eating and drink Golden Nugget offers great value right on Freemont Street party every night.
Place people all awesome.. pool area always crowded but u know that...food awesome rooms the best front desk great..best stay ever in Vegas for accommodation that I've had..top notch I highly highly recommend the golden nugget
The property was nice but the room was very low quality. It has none of the usual amenities. No tissue, no hair dryer, none of the things that should be standard at a "resort" in Vegas, especially for a room at this price. Very disappointing.
Lovely rooms, rooms were kept clean, comfy beds clean bathrooms. TheBuffet decently priced & fantastically good food & nice decor. Other than that, everything else was too pricey.
Great Hotel! Clean rooms, love Fremont St , Vic and Anthonys is a must try ! amazing steak!! Style and trend has some great deals in this weekend too, great food places, great shopping as well as a great stay !
Dinner at the Charter House was a great experience. Love watching the fish while eating an amazing meal. Paul our waiter made excellent recommendations from starters to desert. We will continue to make this part of our Vegas experience on our next trip.
I spend a lot of time in Las Vegas, at least 4 trips a year and I can tell you that the Golden Nugget is a GEM! Clean, updated, great food, service. I was only there for appetizers and drinks, but was very impressed.
The employee that checked us in acted like he hated his job. The room was ok. Just the basic room with nothing special. The pool was probably the best part of the hotel.
Gross! Went here at 8pm one night. Full of sketchy people and the whole place smells like my musky grandpa's shoe. Plenty of other casino's to drop my hard earned coin.
I love staying at Golden Nugget! My kids love staying there because they love the shark tank and the pool. The room is fantastic because the beds are so comfortable, clean bathrooms, and polite housekeepers. My kids love the pool so much! Every morning when I wake up, I go to Starbucks for breakfast. The pizza we ordered at The Tank was so delicious and the fries. So my kids wish to stay therte forever.
