Check in- entered the line at 8 30 PM came out of the line at 9 20 PM. There are only 2 people to help the guests at the registration.
After reaching the registration after a loong wait, there is no greeting at all, the registration staff were rude. I asked for a non smoking room and she said, as you booked your hotel from a third party at a lower price we cannot give you a non smoking room.
If booking the hotel from third party makes my options less, then why have you listed your hotel on third party websites??
The option provided to me was to upgrade to a pent house paying 2.5X times of my room rate, which I denied
I entered the non smoking room and it is full of cigar smell as expected, which was unbearable.
I called up the roomservice and told them the situation and the attendant was rude again. She was laughing at what happened. I asked if they can help me with a roomspray or something and she said OK and hung up on me even before I can finish
Then came the roomservice help at 11 45 PM and she is like
I don't know how tlmuch this can help and was laughing at our situation again
So rude staff

We really enjoy spending time at the Golden Nugget, the people are more real and the tables are much more fun because they cost less and more people are playing!
Love this hotel location! It s right off of freemont street! The only problem I had was that I wasn t offered a room with A/C until the third night:( I hate spending all day in the hot then coming back to a hot room.
24 carat magic in the air on the tables and on the slots, and that's just in the casino. Rooms are great especially if you go vip beds are designed to put you into a deeper sleep than ever. Room service is great like I said 24 carat magic in the air
Awsome Time. Everyone was Friendly & Helpful. Check in was easy & upgraded our room without asking. Pool was Amazing, Shark Slide & Tank was worth it alone. Single Deck Black Jack & Fun Dealers. In the middle of everything on Freemont St.
We loved our stay at this hotel! The welcome to our final day was amazing! The food, atmosphere and staff were wonderful! I highly recommend it on your next stay in Vegas!
Free rooms were great! Clean and spacious newly renovated rooms. View from window was terrible, the back of a sign on the roof but who stays in the room for a view??? Overall would recommend!
Fremont Street in Vegas is my personal favorite area in Vegas the games pay out more often down town than on the strip also the price on food is lower so you get more for your money on Fremont street .
Good food, very good poker games and tournaments. Conveniently located in down town (old strip). They offer all the games anyone will want. Including $5.00 Craps table's.
How can you give a better rating to a casino that takes all your $? Food and drink also isn't really priced to keep you there. Service seemed a bit slow but I guess maybe that was to be expected at 3am. Still a fun experience over all.
On the surface of the hotel when you arrive and check in everything is per Covid 19 policy. It stops right there, our room was missing bedding and furniture. Dirty laundry bags sat in the hallway.( I took a picture ) Pool was cold and nobody was there to enforce safety. You couldn't pay me and my family enough to stay there again. We were there with friends and they said I was too generous with the star.
Awesome old school view Vegas. Fremont Street is amazing in itself and definitely worth the experience. It's not about the high end finishing, but about the nostalgia and classic view of Old Vegas. Possibly the best part of the trip!
If Fremont Street is your kind of fun, then this Resort Hotel is perfect, walk around and people watch, do laps and get to know the performers inside the the black circles painted on the ground.
Only hotel I will stay in downtown. Great gambling, great restaurants and love the rooms, especially the new ones! Also enjoy the dealers here over other dealers downtown. Great live music. This is my preferred place to stay in Vegas.
I would stay at the Golden Nugget for future trips to Vegas. The staff was nice and they were able to accommodate our room changes. I had no problems with our rooms. It was old school Vegas charm, but very much modernized. The shark tank in the pool was definitely a sight. The strip on Fremont street is so much fun.
Had an Amazing time! Handicap accessible rooms are amazing! Very spacious & easy to move around in. Swimming pool area is beautiful, clean, and an Amazing experience being so close to the fish & sharks! All staff is efficient, friendly and extremely nice!
The aquarium bar here is so cool! Gaming is decent, and the food is really really good. Need a ride around Las Vegas? Try the lyft app. We're better and safer than taxis, and if you use code: LAUREN365475 when you download the app for $10 in free rides! Happy traveling!
On 3 separate occasions the dealers and staff were extremely rude. For example; I was accused of stealing something as I made my way to the poker room. It's understandable they are weary of the homeless/ pan handling population, but the way I was approached was ridiculous. I let them have it. I will never go back there again. That place is supposed to be above what's in downtown and it's not.
Awesome hotel/ casino. The pool area is one of the coolest experiences you will find in a hotel, it's right next to bus stops and and Fremont Street. The casino area is huge, with machines and games to play everywhere. There's a large variety of food, drinks, and cool things to see at the Golden Nugget!
Excellent place , they let me check in at 7am instead of 3pm . Very clean hotel room. If your under 21 and can t find a hotel to book ! Well this is the place Awesome place highly recommended,
Elevators Busted Causing Lines, longer staying guests said it had been like this since they got here. Rooms were absolute trash, the beds hurt our entire parties backs spread across both towers. Fade the golden Nugget. It sucks. The only thing worth your time and money is the shark pool. Everything else here is just a play on Fremont street and the shark pool. Save money, visit the shark pool and Fremont street but definitely stay elsewhere. Discredit any review that mentions Fremont Street and the Shark pool. Read the ones about the rooms and the hotel
The Golden Nugget is a great Casino. The size is nice and small and easy to get around. The gambling prices are reasonable and it's a fun happy place to be.
The Golden Nugget is a classic old Vegas location. The casino is a bit cheaper than those on the main strip, but the people and atmosphere has a charming seediness to it that makes it quite fun (the people watching is great). We had a blast there. I did knock the rating due to the extreme amounts of cigarette smoke in the building as well as the poor quality of mixed drinks served in dirty glassware. If you are gong to drink, stick to beer. I was handed an old fashioned about the amount of a shot in a glass covered in questionable white scratches and greasy smudges.
This Is the classic spot that shows the best of old school Las Vegas fun with every modern comfort. An absolutely wonderful place with some of the best restaurants in the city. The hotel is incredibly well maintained and the accommodations range from the economical to the absolutely over the top elegant. The casino is much larger than you may suspect and is clean and bright - perfect at any hour day or night. The staff is friendly and helpful I am absolutely impressed with everything about the Golden Nugget. It s a true classic and a hidden gem. Host Charles and team - Thank you for providing such a world class Las Vegas experience! I will certainly be back!
This place was very cool to see, but was a little dated as far as the smells of cigarettes and bathrooms we're rancid. Otherwise, there are some great places for a quick bite. We had the pizza and it was definitely worth stopping for. Other than. The "old school" vibes it threw out, the Golden Nugget is a great place to visit to experience and old Vegas feeling.
Here for the international moose Texas Hold em tournament, however it is quite a disappointment. Because a packaged deal we ended up in a room that has no coffee pot, fridge, or microwave. Check out the picture I have from our room of the bathtub. When I brought it it to the attention of the front desk, I was told that we are working on replacing the tube in the older tower. Smoky casino, with poor ventilation. Positive, right on Fremont Street, so you get to enjoy the Fremont Experience.
The nicer of the Fremont properties....still Smokey and crowded. The Showroom was a nice small venue for concerts though. Made it worth the trip downtown.
We mostly went just for the food and to look around. The buffet was upstairs and was decent. Not a ton of variety but relatively cheap and some decent choices. Nice little spot to eat at when on freemont.
Went to gamble at the Golden Nugget. It's definitely Las Vegas past it's prime. The machines are updated but the ventilation system is not. You feel almost greasy going in. The bartenders are very slow to respond. All in all didn't have a very good time.
We came for the Fremont Street experience and stumbled across this casino. Our group spent about two hours in here playing the slots and table games. They had a restaurant or two, a chocolate place, dunkin donuts and a buffet. They don't have as much staff/waitresses compared to other casinos but it was fine since we didn't stay long. The cigarette smell was also more abundant than others.
Good price and good location. Great gambling in and around the hotel. Still like the night life on the strip better but you cannot beat the price for somewhere to stay.
I chose it because it was a 4 star hotel on Fremont Street. We were very disappointed that the beds were a full size not queen. There was no fridge, coffee maker or microwave in the room. Two out of the four elevators worked, but the doors on both elevators would open and close five or six times before finally deciding to close, thank goodness they got that repaired rather quickly. Housekeeping was very quick to respond with any items requested. There is a hair dryer in the room finally found it on the closet shelf. The pool was great, lifeguards were very diligent in making sure people were wearing their masks in this Covid environment.
I ve stayed at several resorts on the strip and really liked all of them until I stayed at the Golden Nugget. We visit VEGAS twice a year for the big furniture show. You can t beat the location to the show from the Nugget so that is why we decided to stay here. I will admit I felt a little snobby going from staying at MGM, Bellagio, and Paris to the Golden Nugget, but I was quickly humbled. Here is why I love the Golden Nugget over the big strip resorts: Easy to get from your room to the outside. We usually stay in the Carson tower and you can quickly go from your room to the outside without walking thru a maze of a casino. Simply walk in or out of the door, pass a Starbucks, take a quick right and the elevators are right there on the left! It s so convenient to be able to run up to your room to retrieve something if you forgot it without it having to take over 30 minutes! The staff is incredibly friendly!!! Everyone here goes above and beyond to make your stay wonderful...even the maintenance man who was cleaning the elevator saw us coming, held the door, greeted us, and let us use the elevator before he was finished cleaning it! It s the little things the staff does that makes such a difference. The food! Oh, wow! Best room service EVER!!! They have the most extensive room service menu I ve ever seen! When we called for room service they were so nice and would tell us our meal would be delivered in 30-40 minutes....our meal was always delivered in 15-20 minutes! Also, the presentation was so nice. The server would set the table up for us wherever we wanted and always asked if everything looked ok before he left. I can t tell you enough how amazingly good the food is!!! Their room service is simply the best and the food rivals any nice restaurant you d go to. We loved ordering room service at the Nugget because we knew the food would be outstanding. Also, I liked how the staff was honest about recommending something if you couldn t decide what you wanted. The Golden Nugget has a beautiful spa with a wonderful, friendly staff. It rivals any of the other resort spas I ve been to, like the J.W. Marriott Golf and Spa Resorts (I ve been to most of them). It s not as big as their s, but they offered a lot of services. We had a couple s massage that was so wonderful. When we booked our appointment they asked what type of massage we d like so they could have the right massage therapist work on us. I wanted a deep tissue, but my husband wanted a Swedish, light touch massage. They had the couple s room all set up before we went in with warm tables and soft light. My therapist was Maro and my husband had Linda L. I get massages routinely, but my hubby rarely does. Linda explained everything to him which really impressed him. She would tell him why certain muscles were tight and how he could stretch to relieve the tightness. Maro...wow!!! Great deep tissue (elbows and all!), but what made him stand out compared to all the massages I ve had is the foot and hand massage! My feel always hurt from plantar fasciitis and he really dug into pressure points and massaged the base of each toe and other areas. I wish I had told him to focus on my feet more before the massage. I ve asked therapists in the past to take more time with my feet, but they never do so I didn t bother to ask Maro. Now I wish I had because he was able to apply deep pressure on my arches, heel and ball of my foot. My feet had been hurting since we had walked all day the past 4 days at the furniture show. Btw, the colors blush, blue, washed gray woods, velour/velvet and brushed gold are some of the hot trends for 2019. Lastly, we love the Nugget, but were disappointed the pool was closed for most of our visit and were not told when booking that it would be. Also, the Nugget has a strong smell of stale smoke (except the spa! The air smelled so clean there). The rooms could use some updating and freshening. Our s smelled of light stale smoke even though it was a nonsmoking room. I sprayed Ozium to help get rid of the smell. Still very highly recommend staying here!
Very nice hotel. They go out of there way to accommodate their guest. If we needed anything they we're on top of it. Perfect spot to stay in the middle of Fremont Street for gambling and for a people watching.
It s Gold as it s name if have a lite of money you can Enjoy so many thing the best place in Las Vegas What an amazing hotel. We absolutely loved our stay here. Great staff. They check your room cards at the elevator making sure everyone going up belong there. Great casino. Great pool. Amazing rooms and loved the gym. By far my favourite hotel in Vegas This time my best place is here You can see very attractive things with innovative way In the night also the lights very nice
Nice place, the back of the hotel opens to the Freemont Street Experience. Very clean hotel with helpful, friendly staff. Pool was VERY cold, as was the hot tub. It was a sizable hotel, but was unlike the huge complexes on the strip. Would stay again!
Nice pool although very busy. Great steakhouse inside hotel. Only downside is getting bombarded by staff trying to get you to sign up for tours every time we went back to the elevators for our room
We attended the club just above Fremont Street for some Happy Hour drinks. While the bartenders were dressed to draw attention, the place was pretty empty for a Happy Hour. Add to it the dress code (which isn't required but is harped on) and this place is okay if you are in the area but not something you MUST go to.
